The ghoul was taking a break from all the festivities, having experienced a rather. Exhausting. time at the Haunted House. She staggered towards one of those lantern-adorned trees and leaned against it, her back facing the tree's ashen bark, and slumped downwards into a crouching position. It was a compromise of the lady's graces, but Edel was far too tired to uphold that front. Besides, no one was watching right?

Edel hugged her knees together and gently rested her head on them. She had forgotten that her dress was covered in glitter, and upon that sudden realisation she perked her head back up again, brushing off the specks of glitter that caught onto her face. She let out a small yawn and propped her head against the tree trunk, staring up at the beautiful lanterns that dangled above. She couldn't have asked for more -well, she could, but now wasn't the time to be an ingrate.- the festival had been absolutely wonderful. The ghoul had met so many new people and done all these strange and exciting things. She chuckled softly as she recalled the “ordeals” she faced in the Haunted House, which in all honesty, were more like exciting challenges for her. Oh! And there was that impromptu class with Professor Savage she sat through in the Mysterious tent.

And the games. Edel had played most of them at least once. Except for one she thought, a triumphant look spreading across her face as she held up the plastic bag which contained a little white goldfish. The thing stared at her with its huge goldfish eyes and mouthed something at the frost demon, which may or may not have been an insult or a demand for her to feed it something. The goldfish scooping game had really tested her patience, it took her eight tries. Eight tries. for her to finally snag the critter in the bag. She had a little luck in some of the other games, which ranged from bursting balloons to burping firefox pups. Guilt stung her as she felt for the floresce egg she had pocketed from one of the booths – she would take this dirty little secret to the grave. Hm, and she made a wish at the wishing well too.

Feeling a little more rested up, Edel stretched out her legs, readying herself to get up and do more sight seeing. Maybe I should go look around to see if there are any clothes I can change out into..... The ghoul hadn't been so conscious about the glitter earlier, seeing how everyone else in the Haunted House was covered head to toe in it likewise. Now that she had been wandering around for the festival and mingling with the rest of the crowd, it was obvious she was standing out for all the wrong reasons. As she got to her feet, a shot of something shimmery raced across her vision, landing in front of her a few feet away. Curious, she approached the thing, bending downwards to inspect it. A pair of large, blue eyes belonging to a weasel-like creature with wings stared back at the frost demon and it got to its feet and pattered around her. Edel reached a hand out to pat it, which it gladly obliged, rubbing its head affectionately against the frost demon's hand. The adorable creature then leapt up onto her shoulder, traversing around the back of her neck to the other shoulder where it perched onto, letting out a small yelp. Edel grinned at the cheeky little thing, and one might already have guessed, but yes, in her head she was thinking: Can I keep it?

Edel picked the aurora borealis up and and cradled it, already thinking of a name for it. Penny. It was the first thing that came into mind, for reasons unknown to even herself. She pursed her lips, still unconvinced. Nope, sounds a little too plain. What about Mira, for wonderful? She glanced back the the mini, already decided on the name.

Miss Edelweiss Zaira?” A voice appeared from behind her. Edel turned around, surprised to hear her name being called. She had nearly missed him, gnomes being short and all. The gnome was slightly affronted by this, and he cleared his throat indignantly before continuing, his tone turning into a drawl. “Con-grat-ulations. This is your student's pin.” He paused, seemingly reluctant to give her the full information about the school's policy on this. “I'd suggest you'd keep it on you and not give it away too recklessly.” There was still a slightly confused look on the frost demon's face, who was completely unaware of what was going on. The gnome tut-tutted and sighed, exasperated by the ghoul's idiocy. “Your enrollment letter. Class schedule. Dorm room number.” he said curtly, shoving the package of papers at her. “Welcome to the Amityville Academy,” he finished in a huff and left.

Edel was left standing there, completely dumbstruck. Wait. What just happened? Setting Mira down on the floor, she returned to stare at the letter addressed to her. Fingers trembling, she opened the letter and read its contents, but her mind was already sent into a jumble of jitters and FIREWORKS. Oh my. oh my oh my oh my. This was actually happening. Edel clutched the letter and almost did a little dance right there and then. Her face was burning up with excitement (causing some of those ice crystals on her cheeks to melt. It might have looked as though she were crying.) and she simply couldn't contain the wide smile that spread across her face.....Was she swooning? She read the letter over and over again, just to make sure and let it sink in. What a great day it was for her.

And who is to say that wishes don't come true?
