Sonnet had gotten a rather large basket for the egg so that it would be easier to carry, and with all the padding she and Deskri had put in it, there was no way anything bad could happen to it. They were heading to Mizu's new home that was being moved into on campus. It was much bigger then her house off campus, and Sonnet was actually a little jealous that she didn't think of moving until after both she and Cedric moved out. Still, she promised her mother that she would visit before the egg hatched if they had one, and Mizu suggested they meet at the new house instead of the old one as to not risk some overzealous human throwing a rock at them and potentially their egg.
"What do you think my mom wants to talk to us about?" she asked aloud. "She's not one to be vague and mysterious. I hope nothing's wrong..."

Over time Deskri had grown rather fond of the egg. If it wasn't in it's basket or in Sonnet's arms, chances were that he was holding it. After calming hi a** down over a cup of hot cocoa he'd rather warmed up to the whole "I'm gonna be a dad" thing.
He thought it was a rather good idea to meet Mizu in the new house. He knew he'd go absolutely apeshit if someone attacked them on the way to the old one, and well... he'd probably teach them the real meaning of bloodbath if that happened. "I dunno, probably going to expound some parenting advice on us or something.. maybe tell us not to let them near any humans for awhile." He shrugged a bit. Seemed like sound, logical advice to him, anyway. Sonnet was going to have to be careful not to let him talk to them too much about humans... Deskri was not exactly a lover of humankind.
When they finally reached the house, he opted to knock on the door since Sonnet was in possession of the egg basket.

The door opened almost instantly, a smiling Mizu on the other side.
"Thank you both for coming! I'm glad I was able to catch you before the egg hatched. Please come in come in!" she chirped. It was obviously Sonnet got a lot of her kindness from Mizu even if they weren't blood relatives.
Sonnet smiled. "Hi mom," she said as she moved inside before waiting for Deskri to come in.
Mizu, still grinning. "If you two would come with me, there is something that I need to show the both of you," she said, moving to the hallway.

Deskri stepped in and looked back to Sonnet with an expression that said he had no idea what was going on and it was honestly a little weird. "Uh, okay?" He followed after Mizu. She'd never seemed crazy or anything so he guessed this was cool... okay, it was really weird and he wasn't sure he was completely comfortable, and why did this have to happen before the egg hatched?

Mizu had stopped in the hallway in front of a door that usually would lead to a basement.
"I know it's odd that I wanted to see you before the egg hatched, but I knew you guys would be having one soon, and I didn't want to interrupt that, but I wanted you both to see this, and know something before my grandchildren came into the world..." she said embarrassed. "I hid this in the old house, there wasn't even a door, but I think it's time you know just who...and what I am." she explained as she opened the door.
To what looked like the inside of an elevator, to which she motioned to the two to get on.

Well, that was... a better explanation but it still seemed weird. He had never really cared what Mizu (or Asu) was, she was nice enough and didn't hassle him all the time like Asu did, and plus she was Sonnet's mom so that was a guaranteed bonus for her.
He simply shrugged, glancing at Sonnet before stepping into the elevator.

Sonnet looked back to Deskri before getting into the elevator as well. She really wasn't sure what to think of this whole thing.
Mizu got on and pressed one of the three buttons that was there. The door closed and they descended...for what seemed to be a rather long time.
The doors opened again, and right away it could be seen that this...area was huge! It was filled with so many things, old books, gems, weapons, armors. Anything you could think of, it seemed to be in here, and it looked like it went on forever.
"Welcome to my horde," Mizu said as she stepped out of the elevator.

Deskri stepped out of the elevator, glad the ride was over. It was rather stuffy in there with three people and a basket with a rather large egg in it. He looked around the room, expression growing from curious to confused. "How the fu-- I mean how on earth did you get all of this stuff from your old place to here?" He looked back to Mizu, utterly confused.

Sonnet was baffled so much she couldn't say anything, just stare at ...whatever this was.
Mizu laughed. "Oh, this was here from the beginning. The Achedemy was built over it, and it's low enough that houses can have basements without digging into it. There's a tunnel that leads to my old house, but really, it's easier just to have a house built over it." she explained.
"I've been collecting for a long long time. Nothing in particular, just whatever catches my fancy. I store everything I've collected for as long as I have lived down here. You two are the first living things other then myself that's been down here." she said.
Sonnet was able to speak finally. "Just how long have you been alive mom??" she asked.
Mizu shrugged. "I was alive before the great war, though I lived in another country then, so I don't know too much about it. I've honestly lost count"

That was cool... sure... neat, lots of spiffy things underneath the academy the whole time...
I was alive before the great war... alive before the great war.... before the great war. Wait. What?
The first students of the academy were unfortunate in the sense that they had not been schooled as much as the current ones were, but he at least knew from hearing others talk about it that the great war was forever and ever ago. "How is that even possible?" The confused look turned to dumbfounded. "That was like, ages and ages ago."

Mizu smiled. "My kind lives a very very long time if not killed. Some however, many people saw that as a threat where I was born. There were massive hunts to eradicate my kind. I fled here after the war as to find a place to hide. Who would look for me in a country ruined by war? I've been here ever since." Mizu explained.
Sonnet blinked. "And...just what are you mom?" she asked finally.
Mizu laughed. "Oh yes yes, that. Stay right there please," she said before darting off. She moved rather fast, an was soon out of sight.
Then, from where she ran off to, a giant mystic creature arose. It was at least 3 stories tall, and it grinned at them with bright white teeth.
"I am," it said in Mizu's voice. "what you call a dragon."

Well... her story seemed legitimate enough. He raised a brow and watched as she disappeared into the distance. "Well, whatever she is she moves really fast." He grinned a bit, but the grin soon disappeared as Mizu appeared once more in her true form.
He had not been expecting that. Not at all. In fact, it was so unexpected that it took ever fiber of will in his being not to screech obscenities and drag himself, Sonnet and their egg into the nearest shadow for protection.
Instead all he did was stare up at the newly revealed Mizu with eyes wide as saucers, and a look of absolute horror on his face. "okaythatscoolwhynotgiveusatleastalittlewarningbeforedoingsomethinglikethat." The words flew out in one long string as he forced himself to calm down again, at least to the point where he didn't look absolutely terrified anymore.

Mizu blinked at Deskri before shaking her head. "I'm sorry Deskri, I forget how easily you're startled..." she said before looking at Sonnet. The angel Meta didn't seem as frazzled, just unsure what to think. "But then again it could be I'm used to Sonnet being able to predict things through observations. Either way, I'm sorry..."
"Dragon," was all Sonnet could say right now.
Mizu frowned. "Yes sweetheart. I'm a dragon. I didn't want to tell you because I hadn't told anyone in so long, I wasn't sure how to go about it. I wasn't sure if there were any more hunters out there, and what they could do to you if word somehow got out. I was tired of keeping it a secret though, so I wanted you two to be the first to know, the two who had been part of my life the longest, and who started giving me a family after all these years of being alone.
Sonnet shook her head and laughed. "Just turn back so I can give you a hug. I'd feel weird hugging your toe."

On one hand, the comment about how easily startled he was was like punching his ego in the face, but on the other he knew it was true so he couldn't really get upset over it. "Y-yeah, changing back might be a good idea... you're... huge... and... those teeth are intimidating. Like for serious." He scooted a little closer to Sonnet, figuring she'd want to pass off the basket in order to hug her mother once she finally returned to a huggable size.

DragonMizu vanished and soon human shaped Mizu popped out of the piles of items. Sonnet did pass off the basket to Deskri to give her mother a huge hug, but after a few moments Mizu reached an arm and dragged him into the hug as well.
It was at this moment that the egg started wiggling a bit.
