It was half past sun high. It was the hottest part of the day. Some would say that was at sun high but it wasn't. That was just when the heat began to really scorch the land. The clouds were scarce in the sky allowing no additional shade over the land. Rain had become scare in the warming of the season. The sun scorching the land burning the grasses to a crisp.
The heat never bothered Polamalu. He'd been kept in the desert for far to long to be affected by it. The gold he wore would warm up a little but never too hot to cause a searing burning pain. His Hooves jingled as he walked his soft gold chains clinking soft against his obsidian cuffs. His eyes enjoyed the minor shade that was provided by the black things that had been placed upon him in captivity. His tail gingerly trailed on the ground his tuff of hair gathered dirt as he walked. the Gold though remained clean and bright despite the dirt. He snorted before lifting his thick tail to bring his hair off the ground. Today was a hot day he was fit though. He could handle the heat. A weaker person would likely have an ill time with it.

Peering up through the thinned canopy, she spotted the sun, streaming in small, blinding rays all around. It certainly was another hot one. She wondered with idle curiosity when this weather would pass. Regardless, she wasn't any closer to her own small home standing here. It was time to move on. Stepping out of the trees, she grumbled a bit and tossed her head to flip her shades further back on her nose. Through the thick, black glass she saw a glint of metal across the way. It reflected gold in her eyes. Attention grabbed--there was always time to go home later, she assured herself--she trotted towards the form that turned into a stallion the closer she got.
