Zippy always seemed to have an energy spike over 9000 when he powered up into his Negaverse uniform. He was practically jittering as he scuttled in circles and swung his lightsaber around with fake karate moves and additional sound effects besides the one already supplied by his weapon when he turned on the glow. All his usual shyness from his civilian identity was gone and he no longer needed Johnny to get him riled up. He could do that on his own, when in uniform.
But tonight he was even worse, because he was going to try energy harvesting with his captain, Painite.
And Painite was awesome. And good at her job. And awesome. And stuff.
Zippeite was having a little trouble with this energy harvesting thing. After ending up having to run away from his target the first time he tried it, he resorted to draining his brother in his sleep to fill out the gaps in his quotas.
"So what's the plan, Captain?" He asked as soon as he met her, making a few 'tough guy' poses and swings with his lightsaber. "Who's the target? What's the deeeal?"

Captain Painite wasn't exactly sure what kind of setting she had herself connected to, what kind of radio wave or transmission she was emitting, to draw these energetic Lieutenants to her. She certainly could not complain about it, however.
They reminded her of herself, in small ways. She had not been as excitable, she didn't think, or as imaginative and fantastical as Bazzi and now Zippy seemed to be, but then, maybe she was just remembering things with some bias. Maybe her Captain had thought the same things about her that she was now.
It was like school in a way. Each year she got older, she would look at the younger students and wonder if she had acted the same way they did. At least she didn't find them annoying. Nor did she find Lieutenants annoying. Quite the opposite, in fact. They were new and they had their own ideas, they could form who they wanted to be and how they wanted to serve. That was fascinating, and they all had their own potential. If she could help bring out the best of them, she would certainly do her best.
"Tonight, we're going to a bar. Not in, of course. You'll get us carded and we'll never get anywhere. But I think the best place to find some easy targets would be the alleys at the bar. Drunken guys just wander out, look like deer in headlights and fall for whatever you pull on them. And they have a built in second layer of 'not going to remember' if they're completely pissed."
She laughed, knowing that was probably not the answer the jedi knight was expecting to hear. But she would make sure he had some fun with it. If there was one thing she was good at, it was having fun. And with his energy and excitement feeding her, there was no way they were going to have a run of the mill hunt.

"Oh," Zippeite stopped his random swipes and ninja moves in the air and lowered his lightsaber to think about that. Grabbing guys puking in the alleyway? That didn't sound like glamorous saving the world type stuff.
Then again, harvesting energy was harvesting energy and really, he knew deep down any badass glamor would probably result in him getting snapped like a twig.
So he made a determined little face and nodded vigorously before posing, holding the toy like a battle ready staff. "Lead the way, captain!"

At his drooping expression she laughed and clapped him on the shoulder.
"Don't worry, Lieutenant, I promise it'll still be fun. Every ounce of energy we gather is important, and it doesn't matter where we get it. If we want to be strong, we have to practice first. Would you rather we go find an Eternal senshi for you to fight instead?"
She would not do that, of course, unless she knew they could get out of it effortlessly. But getting one of her Boys killed was not on the drawing board, not right now. Not ever.
They were the future.
She led him to the bar and had him hide with her behind a dumpster. There was no one there at the moment, but she was sure they would start wandering out.
"So," she said, almost conversationally, "tell me, what do you imagine yourself doing? I mean, for draining energy. How would you do it, if I didn't give you any tips on how to catch or pick your target?" Obviously, she would show him how to actually draw out the energy if he needed that lesson. But she wanted to get a feel for what kind of a fighter he was. She remembered from camp, but things had been a little hectic then.

Zippeite stood up straight as a board and vigorously shook his head 'no' when Painite brought up eternal senshi. Senshi creeped him the hell out, man, even if she was just making a point and wasn't serious about it.
He found himself crouched behind the dumpster with her, gold eyes trained around the corner before she asked him a question. And then he just looked stupefied for a minute. He had a vision on how he wanted to drain someone, but even the slightest amount of thought made him realize that an epic showing of strength and battle prowess was not in the cards for his waify little self.
"I guess I'd just... I'd just come up from behind and try to hit them hard enough in the back to knock the wind out of them," A cowardly visual, but he really wasn't sure if anything else was feasible for him.

Painite arched her eyebrow at him, wondering why he was so quick to shake his head. Sure, Eternal Senshi were no fun for anyone, but he seemed particularly against the whole idea. She grinned at him, imagining she now knew a very good way to train him if he ever did anything to get in 'trouble' with her.
Not that she thought he would. His eagerness would see to it, she imagined, that he did his best at all times. And that was good: she expected that in new recruits, and loved seeing it.
He was the next wave in the growth of the Negaverse, after all.
"That sounds like a good plan. I think you should try it out, see how it goes. I mean, that's the best way to see if a plan is as good in application as it is in theory, right? Applying it."
She pointed, and quieted her tone. There was someone in the alley, shuffling around, not looking particularly sober or coherent, looking into trash bins as if he had lost something. His senses, perhaps, but she doubted he would find them in there.
