Cedric Miller was driving home on a dark, winding road through the forest when his car slid across a patch of black ice straight into a tree. Luckily Cedric walked away from the car accident with only a few cuts and bruises. Since Cedric’s car is totaled and he has no cell phone signal he is on his on his own. But as he starts walking to the nearest town he begins hearing footsteps behind him. Every time Cedric looks behind him he sees no one. Is what he’s hearing real or is he just a hallucination brought on by the accident? Either way Cedric is running out of time.

Play as Cedric as he tries to make his way out of the dark, ominous forest. Along the way he must face threats of wild animals, rocky terrain and a mysterious person who’s constantly following him. Can he find help before he either dies from the harsh wilderness or completely loses his sanity? Find out in this heart wrenching tale, The Only Exit.

Characters:

Cedric Miller, age 19. His only goal is to get back to civilization. Cedric truly believes that there is someone following him and that it isn’t just his imagination.

Natalie Jacobs, age 15. Natalie is a high spirited girl who lives in a small cabin in the forest with her mother. She finds Cedric and asks him to spend the night there so they could head to town in the morning. Unfortunately Natalie is also insane. She often talks to herself and laughs at inappropriate moments. She tells Cedric that the person following him is the same person that follows her and that there is no escape from them. These actions are what convince Cedric not to accept her offer and to continue walking to town. Depending on how you play the game, Natalie will either become your friend or an enemy.

Loran Jacobs, age 38. Cedric finds Natalie’s mother on the side of the road with a gun to her head. She tells Cedric that there is only one exit and that is death. The only way to stop the figure from killing you is to do it yourself. Cedric convinces her not to take her life because it would leave Natalie all alone. She reluctantly agrees with him and returns home.

Officer Peter Robinson, age 43. Officer Robinson finds Cedric car on the side of the road and starts to search for him.

Marco, age unknown. Marco is a stray dog that Cedric finds in a cave who helps provide him with some company along the trip.

Night, age unimportant. Night is the name Cedric gives the figure following him. Night appears many times throughout the game. He is a dark figure who wields an axe covered in blood and has razor sharp teeth. Nothing is known about him except that he haunts the people who wander into the forest. Cedric believes that for some reason Night is the reason that many of the animals will attack without warning. Every time Night is defeated he comes back even stronger and even more gruesome than before.

Plot:
Cedric was driving home from a friend’s house on a dark, winding road in the middle of a huge forest, when he suddenly hit a patch of black ice and slid straight into a tree. He was relatively unharmed but his car was in no condition to drive. After checking his cell phone for signal he realized there was no help for miles. The only way to survive would be to walk. The nearest town is at least 40 miles away. The weather is cold but not life threatening, although he’d heard warnings of snow storms later in the night.

Cedric begins walking down the road. He reaches a dead end in the road and has to start walking through the forest area. Not too long after words he starts to hear footsteps behind him. After looking behind himself he realizes no one is there. Cedric’s only weapon at this point is a switch blade in his pocket. Cedric knows that if he doesn’t find someone soon he isn’t going to make it.As he wanders further and further into the forest he begins to encounter more and more life threatening animals (animals such as cougars, wolves and bears, etc). Cedric doesn’t understand why so many animals would attack without warning. He eventually finds a hand gun which allows easier protection.

In certain instances Cedric must also fight the dark figure following him. On his journey Cedric learns more about this dark creature and more about why it’s hunting him down. His ultimate goal is to destroy this monster once and for all and free the people who are being tormented by it.

Other than a stray dog that Cedric finds, he is by himself for a majority of the game. The people he does meet are either crazy or are unwilling to help him. The gamers’ choices throughout the game will determine Cedric’s final ending.

Extra Iinfo:

After beating the game the first time a multiplayer minigame will be made available. There are three levels of difficulty to choose from when starting the game. Normal, difficult and expert. The game also includes many hidden puzzles which will unlock bonus cut scenes and hidden weapons.
