It wasn't as if they'd kept her prisoner in the days after her corruption. More so she'd been smart enough to know better then to leave the safety of the negaspace until she had her bearings about her. But once she was out again on the streets, the familiarity of places had begun to wash over her once again.
Places she'd seen and been before, even though other details might have been fuzzy, she let her paws drag her along in her first daytime exploration. It was hardly strange that the schools would pull her attention. It was likely were she had recruited many a senshi before she'd be enlightened by Laurelite. And beyond that.. it had a lot of people and a lot of potential attention.
The creamy white cat paused near the gates of Hillsworth. The building and aire of the place wasn't really her style.. but something else had caught her eye and interest. Boys, boys, boys.
Each student that passed through the doors.. the ones that lingered in the fenced in yard.. all boys. It only took her a moment to find a bit of gate that was bent up enough for her lithe body to slip through.
Dahlia had always had a fondness for boys.
----------------------
There were plenty of nice boys that went to Hillsworth. Some that were there simply because of their family's poor finances, some were victims of overzealous parents, and some even were simply here because of misunderstandings. But there were plenty of geniunely bad boys in the school to, the sort that proved true all the bad reputation that was often spread about the school.
It was perhaps bad luck alone that Dahlia had ran into a set of the later.
They had lured her with crouched calling and promises of attention. But their pettings soon became a rough yank to the sensitive skin of her neck. Darkness as she was shoved quickly into one of their bookbags, yowling and fussing the whole time as they toted her off, their words muffled by her own franticness and the barrier of fabric.
The yard was beginning to thin out as many of the students headed off to their dorms or after school activities when the boys finally pulled her back out of the pack. Her usually lovely and smooth fur was mussed, the hair along her spine standing stiffly upwards as she growled and slashed at her captors.
Her claws caught skin at the very least, the struck boy withdrawing his hand momentarily with a stream of cursing. The grip on her neck tightened, the other boy giving her a hard shake as she bucked and kicked the best she could manage.
Something was happening to her beautiful tail, she could feel the pressure on it as the scratched boy tugged on it, bounding something heavy tot he delicate appendage. The yowling cry that escaped her was very uncommon for the mauvian. Fear, pain, frusteration. She couldn't just give herself away could she?

Apparently, some force in the universe favored the negaverse, or at least this particular corrupt Mauvian... Or by alternate argument maybe there was just someone here it really didn't favor at all. Whatever the case, a third voice, older than the boys, and razor edged with anger... no... More like a bone deep loathing to the discerning ear, cut in to the delinquents conversation. "Hey!!" Whoever it was, the mans voice had some quality to give the two boys pause, though his rapid, approach might have contributed. "Hey you little turdwads! Drop the goddamn cat or I'm gonna make you punks wish you had firecrackers strapped to your assess!" The man striding her direction was pale blond, with furious green eyes and motorcycle leathers partially fastened, evidently caught while getting ready to go. He certainly looked like he was planning on gluing lit cherry bombs to uniform pants, but under the circumstances, it was probably more likely the extended cell phone and his thumb in a position that indicated the use of a camera function that made the boys tense and then bolt, startled from their prey. The one holding her dropped her as almost an after thought, a small book of matches hitting the pavement near by, the exposed match heads looking like a row of accusing red eyes.

Should she talk and scream? Would that be enough to startle and scare off the monsters? Should she shoot the little bastards!? What if someone else saw? How the hell would she explain what had happened? Or rather.. she couldn't explain.. not without a lot of trouble, so it was more like 'what if she became some science experiment' being poked and prodded and locked away forever in a tiny cage? She was frantically weighing her options as she wriggled and kicked the best she could with her hind half. Dahlia had JUST decided to risk her luck when a voice suddenly cut into the already loud and chaotic scene. And for a moment she quelled her self preserving urge to fire energy from that dark star on her head.
She was too frightened to really take it in while it was happening, but it was a scene that would come to replay itself in her head again and again as days passed. The authority.. or rather power in his voice. Those green eyes, so lovely like jade jewels but so full of angry. As he strode up he certainly looked worthy of the boy's weariness. Especially as the threats cut through the air. From the tone they did not seem idle.
Dahlia was dumped abruptly as the two boys turned to flee seemingly frightened of either retribution or getting snitched on. She landed less than gracefully, the weight on her tail disrupting her balance. He had.. saved her..? That much she had gotten.
Eyes darted from the matches up to her tall savior, and though her hair still stood on it's ends, the tiny cat remained cowered on the ground, simply looking up at him, a pathetic mew sounding as she tried to catch her breath and quit shivering like a maraca.

It took him a moment or two to take his eyes off the retreating boys, having stopped a short distance away from her, wary that she'd bolt. He had no reason to think, after all, that she was anything but an high bred pet or show cat that had come to the wrong place at the wrong time.
He was sure that she was no stray, or if she was it was recent. Her fur was too long to be easily maintained without a grooming brush, and she sported no obvious matts of fur.
When the boys were at a distance he deemed sufficient to not be a problem, he snapped the phone shut again with a sharp plastic clack, stuffing it into a pocket before he dropped to a crouch, holding out a hand for her to examine.
The rage that had been rolling off him like the heat of a furnace was already fading, and had already dimmed to a faint ember in his eyes. If he'd heard her description of their Color he probably would have laughed, and corrected her unromantically by comparing them, (very unromantically) to the color of an unripe olive.
"Hey there sweetness." He called softly. "Dont worry that pretty head, they come back and they're going to have their butts kicked so hard they'll taste boot leather."
His tone was considerably out of sort with what he was actually saying, soft and sligtly sing song, designed to comfort an perfectly ordinary cat.
"Come on, let me get those things off your tail. Might need to cut the string but thats a lot better than some Junior Psycho setting them off, huh?"
He twitched his finger tips invitingly, looking her over. Funny that she seemed to have been dressed up a bit, but he didn't see a tag. That was a bit disapointing, he had to admit he would have liked to deliver her safely home and put a flea in the ear of whoever had let her escape their watch into danger.

The desire to flee on reflex was a strong one. To just turn and run and run until she could figure out a way back to the safety of the negaspace. But what if something else found her before she made it under or over the fence? Who knew if the boys weren't just waiting in the wings? The weight on her tail was an uncomfortable hinderence as well.
Atleast near the him she felt safe. A strange thing to feel around someone who was obviously capable of of threatening and quite possibly violence. But then.. that'd certainly become a sign of her companions ever since she'd been awakened.
The snap of plastic drew her eyes and ears towards him in startled size and stiffness, but her stiffness slowly melted as something.. unexpected.. happened.
The voice that had before been so gruff and enough to run off her tormentors... it'd fallen to a level that was so gentle..so sweet.. so inticing. His fingers twitched in a way that made her more primal and feline urges wish to sniff and inspect them. Even if she hadn't been simply inticed by him she understood the words he spoke and what he was offering more than any normal cat might.
But it would be a lie to say she had been inticed...
After only a few brief moments of staying stricken in her place, the creamy white cat slinked forward not stopping until her nose and then cheek had touched his hand. And it didn't end at that. Her head and cheeks brushed furiously against his hand, a small stream of 'ow's and 'mews' accompanying the look of gratefulness that was being cast up at him. It was a strange amount of affection from a cat that one had just met. Her necklace jingled and jangled from all the movement.
Had she been human she would have simply clung to him in neediness, proclaimed him her hero as she showered grateful kisses on his cheek amid sad laments at how terrible those boys had been, and how DARE they do that to her!
But that was sadly out of the question. If he was truely one of either team he'd see her star and try to speak to her. But if not.. then quiet she had to be.

As frustrating as it probably was for Dahlia, Falco was evidently not playing for either team, and the most he did regarding the striking dark star on her forehead was frown in puzzlement as he gently scratched behind her ear and under her chin.
"There we go, that's a good girl. You're a friendly one aren't you?"
Definitely not a stray, he reasoned, she was simply too social, and trusting.
"Who do you belong to? They ought to be a bit more worried about where you got off to." He added, his expression thoughtful. Petting her seemed to relax him, and he even allowed the ghost of a smile, a warm one, but one that looked like he'd half forgotten how to do it.
"I haven't seen any lost posters. No one ditched you did they?"
He didn't really expect an answer, but he enjoyed speaking to her anyway. Cats didn't judge you. They didn't look at you and see the ruins of a failed dream. Cats had other interests. Weather or not you could make it around a track in the top three, let alone at all, didn't make the slightest difference to them.

She paused in her own pushiness to incline her head in the directions of his own affections, tilting her head to better allow him access. It was fairly easy to lose herself and forget to care that well.. she'd be limited for the moment in her words and actions.
He was that perfect sort of pet.
Plenty of people would reach down and pat a cat, plenty more would talk sweetly to one for a moment before becoming distracted in something else and simply walking off. But this man.. he was obviously one of those special ones, the ones seemingly willing to just spend time pampering her and brushing her. It was something she'd not found much of yet in the negaverse.. still so new and green. And they'd known each other all of five seconds. She desperately wished to know his name, but she knew better..
As he spoke to her sweetly, she stood up on her back legs, letting her front paws press and knead harmlessly against his pantleg. He actually cared about getting her home? That was adorably heartwarming. She however was in no hurry to get out of here anymore.
A very soft rattle of a purr began in her throat, the vibrations of the pleased sound evident even through all that fur.

"There we go, you're a smart one, aren't you?" he commented, stroking her soothingly briefly with one hand, trying to undo the knot or work the tied firecrackers carefully down her tail. It had been designed to stay in place, which left the risk of pulling hairs loose... A better result than having them go off, though he was a bit concerned that she might change her mind and lash out with her claws.

She seemed to beam at the compliments. Yes she was smart.. pretty too! And so soft, he shouldn't forget that!
As he worked his way down her tail, and the first little tug of fur pinched her skin her eyes squeezed shut momentarily. She had the luxury of understanding that he was trying to help.. not just being frightened because suddenlys he was being hurt.
So she did her very best to fight the tickle of her fur and try to keep it down. It was just like that time she got gum in her fur. Well.. hopefully a little less deastating then that had been.
Her ears had laid back in unhappiness, but for the time being her claws and teeth were well hidden away. An ever so light purr still rumbled through her too, hopefully perhaps reassuring him that she didn't plan to tear him to rivots.

"Therrrrre we go" he reassured, "Thats right, smart girl..." he made it a quiet mantra as he edged off the knotted string as gently as possible, though when it finally slipped off the end of her tail it still carried with it an unavoidable bit of fluff, though not much more than she might have shed naturally in time. He considered throwing them away for a moment or two, frowning and glancing toward the nearest trash can as he petted and praised her for her good behavior, but decided against it and pocketed them carefully instead. The match book also he retrieved, and pocketed... Notably in a different pocket on his jacket. It didn't take a rocket scientist to suggest you didn't keep matches, safety otherwise, in the same pocket as an explosive.

She felt her jaw tighten a little as the last bit of the knots finally released, taking a little bit of her hair with it. Her tail flicked in one hard motion with the sudden freedom, her eyes turning back to inspect the apendage. A soft sigh of relief escaped her to see that she didn't have a bald spot, the bit of fur barely visable under even her scrutinizing eyes.
Her paws finally dropped from his pantleg, stepping around in a half circle of his leg, her tail lashing back and forth so happy to be free.
A handful of appreciate mews broke her silence, rubbing her head gently against his pant leg. The boys were gone. Whatever had been on her tail was gone. This man.. whoever he was. He was obviously amazing.

"There ya go hun." He promised, hands now free to pet her, tousle and smooth soft fur. Had he any idea she had intelligence at least that of a human, he probably wouldn't have been so free about it, but since the star mark on her forehead was no more than a curiosity, he was liberated from such concerns. "I'll give them what for, don't you worry." He promised, though he meant it more as a promise to himself. She was, after all, just a cat. She couldn't understand. "Not sure quite how yet, but I'll work something out. Be nice if it was easier to believe in Karma wouldn't it?" He asked, rhetorically. "But turds like that are probably going to be the ones we see on the fortune five hundred list in a few years."

She wasn't too fond of the tousling, but before she could complain the fur was once more smoothed and patted into place by his gentle hands. Another purr rattled through her slim body.
He was speaking of retribution when her eyes found his face again, and her interest perked. He was going to make them pay for doing it to her? Certainly she was grateful. To think of him pounding in those little monster's faces for her honor was exciting. Her tail flicked.
The world was full of so many people who sat around and did nothing. Those who just let people walk all over them. Stood back and let their world be taken over by little girls in short skirts. It really was a shame this man wasn't on her side.. but at the very least he wasn't on 'their' side either.
Karma. Maybe one day she's be able to pay him back for what he'd done for her.
She walked back and forth once beneath his hand, before pivoting finally once more towards the fence, her eyes searching for a route of escape. Path found, she offered one more soft mew before she took off.
There was one thing for sure. Dahlia would never forget her pale haired savior.
