Beloved Stargazer

So far, the night had been a rather calm one. She'd just let go of her newbie for the night, and moved to gather some energy to pad her quota a little bit. She was quickly finding that she loved working with the new lieutenants, as long as they weren't self-entiteled or arrogant. Some of them did not seem to understand that being chosen by the negaverse was only the starting point.

Oh, and some made fun of her height.

But those weren't all that bad even, since it meant she got to knock them back into place.

She was gathering energy from passerbys when she felt it - a senshi. Relatively weak senshi, experience dictated her.

Alone, at that.

They never learned.

With that in mind, Fluorite stashed her orbs in her sash and went to take on her third role of the night - senshi welcome comitee.

Sailor Thisbe was new; the Captain was right in that assumption. It had been a week now since she had been awakened in an almost fumbling manner and that time hadn't been nearly enough for her to process or properly grasp everything. She wasn't cocky, though, not showing any traces of arrogance... Just curiosity. Lots of curiosity as she stood, gazing down at hands that she could feel some sort of strange energy trying to emanate from.

This whole senshi thing was weird... But at least, at least, she got a nifty outfit out of it; some kick a** boots too, if she could say so herself. So what if the skirt was a little too short...

Of course, the captain had no idea just how truly new this senshi was. She could only go by the strength of her aura, which was fitting for a normal senshi.

No, she would gauge for experience in a different way. It took a moment before she'd finally found Thisbe, and then she sat on the rooftop, and waited.

How long would it take for her to notice her, she wondered ?

It likely took longer than it should have; or, rather, longer than it would have had she not been so new to the game. Had she known what she was supposed to be looking for; feeling for.

It was actually the odd sensation that there were eyes on her that Sailor Thisbe picked up on first, followed soon by a light chill raising the hair on her arms. Darkness. There was something dark nearby. Not dark like the monster that had been present the night she had been 'awoken', but similar. Stronger, maybe?

Her brow furrowed as she glanced up, sea green eyes peering out from beneath her hood as she flexed her shoulders, searching the area for the source of the feeling. "I know you're there... Even if I don't know what you are." Her voice was soft but clear, youthful in a way that made her seem a good bit younger than the years she boasted to be. "Wouldn't it be better if you just showed yourself?"

Better for who, really ?

Fluorite couldn't help but chuckle a bit. A little slow on the uptake, that one. Would make for good amusement.

"Very well, then."

And she jumped off the roof, landing neatly in front of Thisbe with an ease that was quite obviously a trained one. Practice seemed to back every one of the captain's movements, and she didn't seem to consider this senshi a threat at all.

Perhaps this was exactly why her weapons were unsummoned.

"It still amazes me." She said. "That senshi keep sending their own new recuits out like lambs to the slaughter. Do they really not care about your fates at all ? Pathetic..."

Perhaps it was stupidity, or maybe just a bit of ignorance, but Thisbe didn't flinch when the other woman landed on the ground not far from her. She kept herself steady enough, eyes leveling on the Captain. "Is that what you think they're doing?" Her head tilted slightly to the side so that she could continue watching the other from beneath her hood. It wasn't all that far off from an assumption, really, but it served her own purposes to question whether or not it was actually true.

"Negaverse, right? And I suppose they do wonders to take care of you in your faction? Make sure you know just the right things to say to your prey?" Nothing was said with arrogance; just plainly spoken, honest questions.

"I don't need to think." She said. shrugging. "I've seen it."

She'd seen senshi call for help, and no one come for them. On the flipside, if someone ever needed her aid ? Fluorite would have been here in an instant.

If she'd heard one of her own scream, she wouldn't be able to ignore it.

"Well, seems like they at least teach you some things." She'd fought senshi who had no idea what she even was. At least this one was slightly better off.

Of course, she thought the negaverse was superior. She always would. Especially after seeing first-hand what the senshi could do.

But this girl did not need to know the nightmares that still plagued her, thanks to what her kind had done.

"Let's see how quick you are on your feet, shall we ?" Thisbe wouldn't get much of a choice - Fluorite was already charging, aiming a punch to her midsection.

"s**t." So much for being a lady, or at least attempting to play the part of one while all dolled up in her senshi gear. She should have known that was pretty stupid from the start; skirts and lace didn't make all that much of a difference when it came down to what was inside.

Thisbe sprang back, narrowly avoiding the Captain's swing, knowing damn well she was lucky while thanking whatever power that might be that she had, at one point, gotten used to dodging punches thrown by her sister during one of their shared martial arts classes when they were younger; before she'd started devoting more of her own time to dance.

"Time to tango?" She managed a smirk as she tried to turn the 'fight' into something she was a bit more familiar with, countering the lunge with a sweeping kick of her foot.

Oh, she'd dodged !

Far from irritating Fluorite, this seemed to delight the captain. Not as helpless than she'd thought, then. It wouldn't be any fun if she had no challenge at all. No, when they were too helpless, or not annoying, that was where her conscience tried to kick in.

That was never fun to deal with.

"Of course." Her grin was clearly visible in the second the remained still, before the captain was in movement again. This time, she seemed to be aiming for her upper body... but at the last second kicked instead.

A fake. Something someone needed to expect would happen in every fight they fought.

The Captain's foot caught her own as she had tried to counter, sending Thisbe falling to the ground, hands out behind her in an attempt to break her fall. She could hear lace tearing as she skidded along the asphalt, nose wrinkling at that more than the thought of having scraped her palms. Useless gloves. Useless.

She wasn't down for long, though, rolling back to her feet a second after catching herself, eying her opponant for a moment before taking a cheap swing at her with a tightly curled fist. She'd played with enough boys as a child to know how to throw a punch... Sometimes.

When Fluorite had started, she hadn't even known how to punch correctly. She had no need to know that, after all. She had been a normal little girl, and as a child, she'd always had her older brother willing to defend her from any bullies that decided the tiny, younger Desmond was a nice target.

But now things were very much different. And that little girl, some might argue, was long gone, never to return.

It was a cheap shot, and it did it's purpose well enough - it hit, but this agent seemed to have enough experience not to let the pain disturb her - she caught the fist before she could pull away, ignoring the twangs of pain and her quickly reddening cheek and instead trying to fling the senshi back.

The other girl was definitely better at this than she was. Definitely. She was tossed back with the momentum of being flung, wincing as her back slammed against the alley wall. A small littany of curses passed from her mouth as she slid down until her backside hit the ground. "Damn..." It hurt, a good bit, but at least she'd landed one punch. That had to count for something, didn't it?

What also had to count for something, though, was that she still had her own 'secret weapon'. She had a power she had yet to use; a sphere she hadn't yet unveiled. Thisbe sat there for a moment, letting the Negaverse agent think whatever she would for the moment as she closed her eyes; listening, contemplating, pondering just how she could pull off a proper attack.

Likewise, Fluorite had her own secret weapon, hidden in subspace - her weapons, the two throwing knives that she rarely used for their intended purposes. She'd spend all of her lieutenant career brawling it out hand to hand, thanks to the utter uselessness of her card, so she wasn't too shabby hand to hand.

Beside, she wasn't aiming to kill. Some others might have - but maybe, if she could scare this girl into never powering up again, to live a normal life among humans... That certainly would be enough for her purposes.

"Already done ? Tsk." She was walking toward where she'd thrown the senshi, rather carelessly.

She was being cocky, and it would likely come bite her in the a**.

Thisbe evened out her breathing, willing herself to remain calm as she listened to the other woman's approach. She knew she was taking a risk; a rather large risk, considering she had yet to see the Negaverser's weapon. It was one that she was willing to take, though; or at least one that she felt deep down that she needed to.

The senshi waited patiently, very patiently, finally opening her eyes to peer at the ground until she caught sight of the other young woman's boots... And then she was still again save for the lightest twitch of fingers unable to contain the traces of tension as she waited to see if the Negaverser would try to snatch her or lean down to her level. It would all depend on just how arrogant she was, given the situation...

Had Fluorite not been so arrogant at the moment, she might have noticed the little warning signs. This was a trap, and the captain walked right into it, done the same thing she advised her lieutenants not to do.

Don't get arrogant.

She chose to snatch the girl, instead, by the collar of that pretty cloak. She had to admit that one outfit was almost not ridiculous.

As Thisbe was pulled up she tilted her head, vibrant eyes peering out from beneath the dark shadow of her hood as she brought her hand up. It was time to see just how well this whole senshi thing worked... Her palm brushed against the Negaverse agent's cheek through the remnaints of her glove, releasing the power of her sphere into the other woman.

"Veil of Woe." She murmured softly in a haunting tone that sounded little like the voice she had been bantering back and forth in; a bit older and more certain of things than the senshi herself had seemed.

Fluorite had no chance to dodge this.

She let go of Thisbe quite suddenly, eyes wide. But she wasn't Thisbe anymore. Not to her sight, at least.

She was Matthew. Not even Alunite - Matthew. Matthew, helpless and backed in the corner, trying to avoid his aggressor. She had no idea who that had to be, but the sheer terror on her brother's face could only mean that it wasn't good in the least. Her imagination was quick to fill in the gaps the magic couldn't quite reach.

She was so caught up by the scene, by the raw terror of her brother's face, that it never occurred to her to summon her knives and go against whoever was doing this. Her hand shook, and she was quite obviously fighting back tears.

Thisbe's attack was rather effective, indeed.

Her own eyes went wide at the look on the Negaverse agent's face; her own shock soon becoming a fear that caused her chest to tighten as she reeled back away from the other young woman, not entirely certain as to what she had done to her. It had worked, though, whatever it was and it was giving her the opening she needed to run.

In seconds Thisbe was on her feet, heels clicking against pavement as she darted down the alley before springing up the nearest fire escape, taking to the rooftops for her retreat. She was going to put as much distance between herself and that woman as she could before she came to; not trusting what might happen once she snapped out of her daze.

It was a long moment before Fluorite snapped out of her daze, shaking her head as reality crashed back on her.

Everything was fine. Matthew was fine. Matthew... had never been there at all.

...What a second, where was that damn senshi ?! ********, that had to ******** magic ! That they had the power to outright mess with you mind.

"Looks like you know how to mess up someone's mind much better than I do." She spoke to the empty night air. It was no use - the senshi was long gone. She couldn't even feel her anymore.

Disgruntled, Fluorite turned to leave. It... That was enough for tonight.

...She couldn't help but double-take, if only to make really sure, before she finally walked away.
