This mansion was by far the largest building that Kaiya had ever been to. She'd seen buildings such at these in books that she'd read, but that was nothing compared to seeing a real one. As well, the real thing was fairly creepy in comparison to a picture, she thought to herself as she moved closer to the gate that blocked the path up to the building.
Kaiya didn't really know why she was here. She'd been coming home from work when she'd felt something that had almost been like a....tug in the back of her head. She didn't understand what it was, but the feeling told her to go to the other side of town, near the upper class area. She'd tried to ignore it at first, but the feeling had been persistent. This was how she'd ended up in front of the mansion's get in the first place, but what was she supposed to do now? She couldn't just go in, could she?
The Japanese-born woman frowned and leaned forward, grasping the bars of the gate. Should she try to find a way in? She had a feeling that the urge would just grow worse again if she tried to leave - how could she get inside though? As if to answer her question, the gate suddenly swung open, and Kaiya stumbled back to stare in confusion. That had been...convenient.
And ******** creepy.
Despite that fact, Kaiya soon found herself creeping up the path towards the mansion. It was against her better judgement, but coming here in the first place had been as well, so she might as well continue on with this roll that she appeared to be on. She soon found herself at the door, and reached out again - only to have it, again, swing open as the gate had before it.
Yeah. This was officially the creepiest s**t that she'd ever encountered.
"...hello?" Cautiously, the dark-haired woman poked her head inside and glanced about, unsure as to whether or not she should continue forward. Perhaps this wasn't such a good idea...

Kali had been cleaning up after the boys in the living room when she heard the woman's voice. It was, she thought, definitely not Megg's. And definitely not supposed to be in the mansion. Of course, she wasn't one hundred percent positive on that last one. For all she knew, the woman was Zak's new best friend. Unlikely. But still possible.
With an armload of blocks and other assorted children's toys, she slipped into the main hall, peeking over at the woman. When she saw her, and her confused expression, she could assume enough about what was happening.
"Oh. Hello." She said, dumping her armload onto a nearby chair and hurrying over to Kaia, smiling. "Welcome. I'm sorry for the confusion, but you're probably here for your vial...This way, please." She turned, her skirt swishing as she walked, leading the woman to the basement steps. The mansion wouldn't have let her in without a reason...so. This had to be it. Right? Whatever.
"Just down here...but first, a warning? Don't let him intimidate you." She said, gesturing to the doors. "Good luck."

Kaiya blinked as a voice spoke to her and over to look towards the sound of it; very quickly, the young woman saw a redheaded girl who was probably a good 5 years or so younger than her. She gave the stranger an uneasy look, clearly unsure of whether or not following after her would be a good idea - how did this girl know what the hell was going on when Kaiya herself had no idea? And what did she mean by a vial? "Uh...right then. Sure." This was officially the weirdest day of her life - and that was pretty weird, considering that she'd fled her home country in order to avoid marriage.
Why was she still following this girl? It seemed like a bad idea to her, and yet here she was, following this strange girl to a door. She stopped at the top of a set of stairs that the young woman had brought her too and found herself raising an eyebrow slightly. "Thanks...?" Good luck with what? Was something going to happen when she got to the bottom of those stairs? She was still wondering what the redhead meant by a vial.
'Only one way to find out.' Cautiously, the dark-haired woman slipped down the steps, glancing about as she reached the bottom of the steps. For the basement of a creepy mansion, it was rather well furnished. "...so, what's this about a vial?" She wasn't entirely sure of who she was even talking to, but it was fairly quiet right now, and she needed to break the silence with SOMETHING.

Zak scowled when he heard Kali at the top of the stairs - that b***h always ruined everything. It was his own fault, he supposed, for bringing her there...but still! She should respect her master!
He was still scowling when Kaiya came down the stairs, slouched and sulking in his chair. She had even been told it was a vial. This was stupid.
"I'm going to have a serious chat with that girl about ruining my fun." Zak muttered, holding the vial between two fingers, dangling it off the edge of the Chair arm. Sighing heavily, he pushed himself up as if it were a great ordeal for him to stand, and walked a few steps forward.
"Yes. A vial. Which I have here. I was hoping it wouldn't choose anyone...it's cracked, after all. However...It has chosen you. Congrats." He held it out, expecting her to come over and grab it. He wasn't going to play with this one, though - it was already cracked, and he didn't know how that would affect the child inside. It would be interesting, he thought, to find out.

The person who greeted Kaiya when she reached the bottom of the stairs was a scowling man who muttered something about the girl ruining his fun. She didn't know what it was, but there was something about the man that she didn't like - despite this fact, the pull on her intensified when he raised the vial up. This was most definitely what had been drawing her here, she thought, and she found herself stepping forward to take the vial.
"A crack?" The young woman frowned as she took the item carefully, turning it over in her hand to see that the blond man was correct - the delicate glass was marked with a jagged blemish, leaving it imperfect. Despite that, none of the blue liquid inside seemed to have been disturbed; it was strange, she thought, and it didn't make much sense.
Not much of this day made sense though.
"What's inside of it?" She looked up at Zak, raising one dark eyebrow. "What's the liquid inside of it? And what do you mean that it chose me?"

"I mean that it chose you, and you've hit what it is right on the mark. It's liquid. Now stop being so demanding, and shoo." Zak waved his hand at her and scowled again, snippy and short tempered. "Get out of my house. If we need anything, we'll be in touch." If SHE needed anything, though? He didn't give a rat's a**. His fun had been spoiled, and he didn't care about anybody else.
Living as long as he'd been alive had made him a rather selfish person. Also inconsiderate. One would think that it would have been the opposite; but, no. Zak had only gotten worse as time went on. Today in particular had been a bad day.

Kaiya scowled at the blond man, already having decided that he was, in fact, an a*****e. He wasn't going to be of any help to her, clearly - and from the sound of it, he only cared about whether HE got what he wanted out of this whole thing. For a moment, the woman considered smashing the vial, if only to spite the man. However, something told her that it wouldn't be a good idea for her to do that. Something told her that she would regret breaking the already damaged object - so, she refrained.
<<"Fine then, a*****e - but don't expect me to be of any help to you should you decide to contact me.">> The dark-haired woman's native tongue came easily to her as she turned away from him, heading towards the stairs that would lead her back up towards the upper floor. She knew the exit from there, and wasn't worried about getting lost because of that - she doubted that Zak would have been very helpful in showing her the way out anyway. She'd need to figure out what was going on with this vial, she decided.
Little did she know how much her life was going to change because of the little container.
