My strings are pulled by... CuddlyDeathPrincessYou can call me... Sage Rose OrtonI've lived through... In appearance twenty or so, in actuality around five hundred. See me as a... Phoenix I can assure you, I am... Female I would call myself... “What ever works for me at the time, I can bend.” I tend to be... Rather snotty, tomboyish, likes to get in to fights, has problems with authority, and is rather curious about things people try to hide from her. My tale begins with... This would be Sage’s 11th life. Being a phoenix she had a tendency to die pretty young. Mostly because all of her first lives the living date for humans was still pretty young. Each time she died like a normal phoenix would she would burst into flames and then with in the ashes a baby or small toddler. Her “families” would always find a way to raise her and normally tried to hide the fact that she was part of their family before, or sometimes even that she was a phoenix. But like clock work every year on her sixteenth birthday all the memories of her past lives would come flooding back to her. She would always feel weird and out of place in the family knowing that she was being raised normally by someone that was once her lover or child. This life was no different. This life she wasn‘t even told she was a phoenix. Her lover said they were just trying to protect her. And in an angry rage she ran away from the home.
Now that she was on the streets life was even more dangerous. Girls that were alone were often snatched up and carried away to slave traders. So she found herself a gang. There she learned to pick pocket and steal. She also found out other talents. Tinkering. Taking things apart constantly and putting them back together was her favorite game. Also the abilities as a phoenix was rather useful. Every so often a gang member would get seriously hurt. If she plucked one of her feathers she could put it on the wound and heal it. Life was great. Until a member of the gang tipped off some slave traders for money that there were a few unusual creatures that sought refuge in the group.
In the night they came. The same gang member expressed that they wished to see a show or some of their abilities. Sage, who always liked to show off what she truly was, let her bright wings unfurl wide. “Is that what you wanted to s-” but before she could get the words out a hand was placed over her mouth and she and the other creatures were dragged away. The last thing she saw of the gang was the member that sold them out being handed money.
Fighting, kicking and biting the whole time that they tried to put the collar on her. She was given a rebellious tag. As soon as the threw her into the cave she tried to kill her self hopping that when she did one of the guards would take pity on her and take her home with him. But when she finally succeeded, by chocking herself, she resurrected as a sixteen year old girl. Already through puberty and the figuring out who she really was. The gang member had warned the traders of what happened when she died and they tuned her collar accordingly. She has been with only two masters and they had both given her back with in the year. My collar is... Red – RebelliousCyan - Wayward Cloud – Companion Heart- Lover Cup- ServantGive me a... “None thank you! Just let me go an no one gets hurt.” I belong to... “How about ‘trytobemymasteranddie?”

Just in time, in the right place **Warning lots of back story if you don’t want to read it skip down to the ** section. Thank you** In the middle of a large group of misfits there sat a fiery red head. Laughter filled the dark dank ally. Sage smiled to the people around her happily. The gang had picked her up of few months after she had ran away from the place that was her “home”. That was felt so long ago though it had really only been a handful of years. She rarely thought about her old life. There she was a twin, with someone that was actually her son. Her lover was now her father. The thought of the weird dynamistic that ran in that house made her shiver. The first sixteen years of her life were rather blissfully spent in ignorance. She hadn’t a clue that she had died giving birth to her son. Luckily, she had made people aware of her situation and precautions were made. Only one of her requests wasn’t followed. She couldn’t really blame her husband at the time. He didn’t want her be shipped off to some far reaches of the earth. He wanted her to try and stay with him. She had failed to mention when they had talked about the possibility of her dying, that at the age of 16 she would remember her last life. She hadn’t thought it necessary. But that life was behind her. Now she was with a group she now considered family.
They were waiting for the last of their group to get back with some sort of food. It had been a good day for the group considering how many people rarely carried cash in their wallets. One rule they lived by was not to leave a paper trail, so credit cards and debit cards were useless. Yes, the spunky red head was living amongst and was a thief. Pick pocking was her game. Her quick light fingers were legendary with in the “gang”. She had scored a rather tidy some by a careless grey-haired bitty who was visiting family from the country. The soft brown eyed girl felt bad for the woman, so she took only enough to feed the group before slipping the wallet back in the purse and sending her in the right direction. Sighing a little she heard a couple of the younger girls boys complain, “When are they going to get here?” “Yeah! I am starving.” “I am bored too.” “At this rate we’ll be asleep before they get back.” One of the leader looked around nervously as they crossed over to where Sage sat with some of the older members of the gang.
“Sage,” the boy said wring his hands and looking around a bit frightened. “What is it Tom Tom?” she asked looking a little bored herself. The boy wouldn’t even look at her face but instead looked all around the rather large group. The girl never really understood why the hell he was promoted a leader. To her he was a bit on the weak side always cranking numbers. One could say he was the treasurer of the “Well,” he said after he swallowed several times, “We discussed how you might entertain the group some time when there was exseisive down time?” “Yes, I do remember that.” A smile played on her lips slightly as she looked to one of her friends who was “different” as well. “Well,” he coughed again and looked to the group of young members again, “They seem to be getting restless. Perhaps now would be a good time?” Sage chuckled a bit as she stood up. “I suppose it would,” she passed him patting him on the back with a sneer, “Its not like they are going to riot if we don’t.”
Whether she would ever say it out loud or not, Sage rather like showing off her special-ness in front of her “family”. They accepted and even praised her for not being human. The phoenix took a deep breath and let her wings come out in a fiery blaze. It caught the attention of gang and the all started to watch. Some of the other non-humans joined her in the center of the ring that had formed around her. In the dark ally, surrounded by abandoned factories, Sage felt safe to show her true colors. It was fun and everyone was laughing, joking, and relaxing with one another. Sage even changed to full bird form, something she rarely did. But everything changed with in a few minuets.
~***~
“GET OFF ME!” Sage screamed as she was dragged and pulled down the streets of the Bazaar. It had only been a few weeks since they had put the damned collar on her. How many times had she cursed that weasel that was to blame for her state? Too man times. And there was nothing for her threats against his life, which only upset her more. When she was in her first cage waiting for the collar to be fixed on her she heard them talking about her. “She’ll need something extra on hers,” one had said to the other. “That’s right,” the one fashioning her collar sighed as if annoyed at the extra work, “Something about being able to kill herself and come back as a baby. Not gonna be very appealing trying to give a baby off to someone.” Sage eyes widened as she hissed, “That rat bustard! He told them everything!” The collar clanged against the necklace she refused to let go of as she tried kicking the guard that was shoving her into the iron prison. Picking Sage up the two man tossed her softly, well softly as one could toss someone, to the back of the cage and slammed the door behind them.
The click of the lock sent her into a rage. “Damn it!” she yelled as she tried to shake the bars. Hitting her hand against it she started to cry. “Why the hell is this happening to me!?” she cried momentarily for herself as she sunk to the floor of her cage. Curling her legs up to her chest she almost started to weep. But Sage caught herself before it got even to the point where more than a tear or two escaped. Stop it, she snapped at herself, No use crying. Looking around she practically glared at everyone that she could catch the eye of. These people will find that I am not someone easily taken home to be a pet. Oh now. They won’t even be given the chance. It was at that moment she started to think about her escape plan.
Suddenly I will play my ace
