Off of the roads, deep in the forest, you probably couldn't find it if you tried, is the village of Herbania. Rather than what you might expect in a village, cobbled streets, brick houses or cart horses ambling about. In fact you wouldn't see any village at all if you looked around the thick trunks of the ancient trees with their gnarled roots jutting up and shrub and moss overtaking the ground. No. Herbania does not touch the forest floor at all.

You would have to climb over seventy feet up into the upper tree canopy to find the city. Houses encircle the tree trunks or set in the sturdy branches or even built directly into the trees themselves. Wreathed and connected by walkways and bridges, navigating this village is not for the faint of heart. Indeed simply reaching this village requires incredible agility and athleticism.

Which may lead you to have correctly guessed, this is a city of the Rangers. The quiet forest people favor living close to nature and in a well fortified location. Their natural agility makes this an ideal home for them and helps to keep them safe from attack or merely prying eyes.

-Approaching an unnamed Alchemy workshop-

Quite a distance but still closest to Herbania sat a little shop or at the very least what had the appearance of one with the exception of one thing. The lack of a sign of any sort. This was of course because Timothy, who was the owner of the shop, had not yet thought of a good name for it. It hadn't occurred to him as important at all. This was probably why nobody knew about it too he had realised lately. That was why he had put up signposts asking for others to look after parts of it. He knew he hated dealing with customers and he knew he was running out of money. If someone else could deal with that side of the business then all the better for him.

Timothy approached the shop and opened the door quickly. A gust of black smoke came out and covered the Alchemist before escaping into the night air high above. Timothy had fortunately known to hold his breath before opening the door and accidentally breathing whatever that gas was in. He had smelt it before he had reached the shop. The birds might not be so lucky. He walked in and closed the door behind him.

He slipped over the counter to the shop area and into the back down a flight of stairs and underground. Where he kept the majority of the building and his workplace so that more fumes didn't come up and choke everyone in the place to death or worse. He'd need to do those experiments lower down in the place he thought to himself quickly. What a massive pain. As he charged in the workshop and through the light black smoke hanging on the ceiling he took off his coat and slapped it against a few fires nearby a cauldron to put them out.

"Goddamn' piece of s**t caudron." He mumbled as he grabbed the lid from halfway across the room and took a pair of tongs from the wall. He reached in with the tongs taking care not to spill some of the deadly liquid on his hands and pulled out a large chunk of metal and quickly slammed it on a nearby worktop. "A failure. I was sure this would do it."

Annoyed with himself he put down the tongs and placed the lid back on top of the cauldron before heading further away from it to a desk with a book open on top of it. It seemed that it was unprotected however a closer look would've revealed a glass pane in front of the desk protecting it from flames although not flying lids. It was quite fortunate indeed that the lid did not fly towards the book. Timothy quickly lost himself in the book and began to ignore the outside world.
