PVP (Or Player vs Player) combat can occur anytime during play in Saegareth, however there are rules for Combat that exist to make the game more fun for the players involved in the RP. Players cannot die in PVP combat, they can, however, become grievously wounded.

1. A player can only battle another player by issuing them a challenge, either in context of game play (through a somehow game related post interacting with all characters involved) or through out of character PMing. A Captain or Crew member must then be told of this challenge and must be there to review each player post for the fight when it does commence.

*NOTE: from here out the challenging player will be referred to as The Challenger, the challenging players opponent will be referred to as The Challenged

2. If the challenge is accepted a Captain or crewmember will create a thread in the PvP Combat subforum

The first player to post, after the thread is created, will be The Challenged and will be responsible for starting the PVP thread out.

3. At the head of The Challenged's first post will be an OOC statement deciding which form of combat the PvP thread will take.

Forms of Combat:

Combat type one: Post Length Challenge

This is the only time in the world of Saegareth where are you limited in the amount you can post. PLC combat is both a challenge to meet a certain post length AND to not exceed a certain post length. This combat is based a dice roll issued by each player in their opening post. This dice roll will determine the number of sentences the player MUST meet and CANNOT exceed.
HOW IT WORKS:

A. After The Challenged's first post, The Challenger creates a post containing only your post format in it in this post The Challenger rolls TWO 20 SIDED DICE (dice rolling is a post action to the bottom right of the post submission screen) and hits submit. The number generated is The Challenger's sentence count, he must both MEET and NOT EXCEED this sentence count in every post during the combat thread.

B. Next The Challenged submits a post Containing only their post format and selects to roll TWO 20 SIDED DICE and hits submit. The number generated is The Challenged's sentence count, he must both MEET and NOT EXCEED this sentence count in every post during the combat thread.

C. From there combat can take place in alternating posts beginning with The Challenger, then the Challenged, then the Challenger etc. There is no limit to the number of posts that combat can take.

D. ENDING THE FIGHT: The fight is over when one of three things happens.
* Either the Challenged or the Challenger do not meet or they exceed their sentence count.
*Either the Challenged or the Challenger gives up
*OR a crew member or captain sees a clear winner, declares the fight over in an OOC post and names the winner.

Combat type two: Writing Skill Challenge

This, like all posts in Saegareth is a challenge to your ability to WRITE. This battle is not determined by post length, but creativity and pushing your bloodlines strengths and weaknesses to their absolute limit. The name of the game in WSC combat is creativity. That's right: creativity, proper grammar usage and spelling, and story are the deciding factors in this battle. improper grammar, failure to proofread your spelling (We accept both American English and British English spelling) and a lack of creativity will cost you "hit points". The player who's hit points reach 0 first will be the loser.

HOW IT WORKS:

A. The first combat post is made by the Challenger. They set up the fight and strike the opening blows. In an OOC line at the BOTTOM RIGHT of their post the Challenger will write 50/50. That is their hit points. After they submit their post they will have 10 minutes to fix any BBCode, spelling, grammar or other errors that may arise. When those ten minutes are up a crew member or a captain will past judgement on the Challenger's post and adjust the hit points at the bottom of their post.

(NOTE: It is the Challenger's responsibility to then transfer their hit points to their next post)

B. . The second combat post is made by the Challenged. In an OOC line at the BOTTOM RIGHT of their post the Challenged will write 50/50. That is their hit points. After they submit their post they will have 10 minutes to fix any BBCode, spelling, grammar or other errors that may arise. When those ten minutes are up a crew member or a captain will past judgement on the Challenged's post and adjust the hit points at the bottom of their post.

(NOTE: It is the Challenged's responsibility to then transfer their hit points to their next post)

C. From there combat can take place in alternating posts beginning with The Challenger, then the Challenged, then the Challenger etc. There is no limit to the number of posts that combat can take.

D. The fight will end when:
*A player's hit points reach 0
*A player gives up
OR
* The fight is taking an excessive amount of time and a crew member or captain declares the person with the most hit points the winner.

~~Point system:
*only a maximum of 2 points can be taken per post for lack of creativity.
*1 point can be taken for EVERY spelling mistake
*1 point can be taken for EVERY grammar mistake
*No points will be removed for errors in BBCode

4. There is no time limit for combat. However if a Captain or Crew member decides that combat is taking an excessive amount of time (A few weeks for example) they will end the battle and declare a winner.

5. When a player is in PvP combat they cannot post anywhere else in the guild. This is because they're character may leave combat severely injured and need to go to the Temple of Kiesayah in the Plain Land of Kaeheer for healing.
