Description:

The Whale King is a Sperm Whale-type Zoid created and used solely by the PAC.

When the battlefield becomes an immense area in a war between continents, it is essential for a transporter to carry a large quantity of Zoids at once. At half a kilometer long and capable of carrying 70 standard Zoids, the Whale King lives up to the King in its name. The giant Zoid can carry an entire division of troops and can move through either air or sea with ease. Though its enormous size and slow mobility make it unsuitable for direct combat, it is still heavily armoured and can protect the Zoids it carries. The Whale King has the ability to operate underwater, but the PAC is unwilling to risk this, as the Whale King would be unrecoverable by all but the EU's Ultrasaurus. The Whale King Romeo holds the World Record for Altitude, at 2,000km (Low Planetary Orbit), though the crew had to redline the engines and was only able to maintain their position for two hours, due to air supply. The only other Zoid capable of attaining anything near that height is the Pteras.

This is one huge Zoid, the largest production transport in the world. The Whale King, lives up to its name, as its quite literally the King that lords over all other Zoids. At half a kilometer long and capable of carrying 70 standard Zoids, the Whale King is truly a behemoth. However, the Great Whale King isn’t the absolute largest Zoid in the world; the Ultrasaurus beats it out by a few tens of thousands of cubic meters.

However, the Whale King is still the King. It has immensely thick armor, roughly on par with that of the Gujulas and stronger than the Hover Cargo. Both of these facts combined have seen the Whale King through years of service since the middle of WWIII; Whale Kings are often used to transport entire armored battalions in and out of battles.

While only three of these flying fortresses exist, rumor has it that the PAC is developing a new model of the Whale King that will have the ability to operate in space. To this day, no one can prove this rumor, though why else would the PAS suddenly be so interested in pushing the Operational Ceiling on the Whale King?

Statistics:

Minimum Crew Requirements: 75
Standard Crew: 350
Maximum Personnel: 800 ((That can be continuously supported and sustained by the Whale King.))
Height: 155.5 Meters
Length: 622 Meters
Weight: 2000 Tons (unloaded, estimate)
Maximum Speed: Mach .8/980 kph

Weapons:

720mm Electron Cannon,
Six Electron Mass Drivers,
Tri-Barrelled AZ80mm Heavy Cannon.

Equipment:
Catapult Launcher,
Crane,
Main Dry Dock,
Zoid Hangar.

Special Notes:

There are three different Whale King models:

Tango model: Basic Transport.

Romeo model: Whale King with weapons stripped and upgraded with the best sensors the PAC makes and stole/bought, creating a mobile recon platform able of detecting enemy Zoids from great distances, as well as providing Ebinay with real-time footage and the pilots with targeting info and battlefield updates. Similar to an E-3 Sentry AWACS.

Alpha model: Whale King stripped of all transport capabilities. The Alpha model has been modified to carry massive aerial firepower into a battlefield, similar to an AC-130 Gunship.

Alpha carries basic weapons plus additional weapons:

500 GBU-5 GPS bombs (10,000lbs of explosive)
Ten 20-inch chainguns with explosive rounds,
25 GBU-2 GPS bombs. (50,000lbs of explosives)
One 25mm chaingun for precision firing.

Weaponry Descriptions:

40mm Anti-Aircraft Machinegun Array (Electron Mass Driver):
The Great Whale King has a total of six Anti-Aircraft Machineguns located on various places throughout its body, which represent its main defensive firepower. There are two on either side of its head, near the base of the neck armor plate, and another two on its tail. All six can fire 12 flak rounds per second, which explode at a certain altitude (adjusted by the gunner twirling a dial) in a ball of shrapnel. This shrapnel can shred and tear the wings of aerial Zoids very effectively, hence the name “Anti-Aircraft.” The fuses can also be turned off, allowing them to act like normal 40mm Machineguns. Also, thanks to their mounts, each cannon can pivot 360 horizontally and 90 degrees up or down. Usually, each turret is manned, but any bridge officer can aim or fire the weapons.

720mm Electron Cannon:
There are few other weapons that can dwarf this gargantuan armament. Luckily, there is but one of them, mounted on the head behind an armored canopy. It boasts a semiautomatic firing rate, and can severely damage even the toughest of armor with just a few hitting volleys, even once causing moderate damage to an Ultrasaurus. The cannon is completely fixed in place, requiring the Whale King to face its target to fire.

Tri-Barrelled AZ80mm Heavy Cannon:
The Whale King has a total of three AZ 80mm Heavy Cannons positioned on an omnidirectional turret mount, right on top of its back. The weapons are all semiautomatic, and the turret, being omnidirectional, can hit anything in its line of sight. Note that the weapons are extremely powerful, capable of shattering even heavy armor, and are fully capable of hitting the Whale King itself. Usually, the turret is manned, but any bridge officer can aim or fire the weapons.

Zoid Capacity (Tango Model):
The Whale King Tango can carry up to 70 Zoids in its belly, as well as repair and service them almost as well as many ground stations could. There are a plethora of entrances and exits in and out of the Whale King, but the main ones are its mouth, tail, and nose. There is also a large platform near the AZ 80mm Heavy Cannon where aircraft can take off and land, although it’s small, so being VTOL-capable helps. In the air, it’s a more common practice to drop-launch. As such, the Raynos and Storm Sworder are incapable of launching from the Whale King.
