This city is of most particular type and origion and easilest the busiest and most sought out city in all of the Wastelands. However, its most notable feature is that it moves. Rather than a city of stone and wood built into the forest ground, J'Nall lies in a wasted scorched region that is a seamless blend of desert and plain that have been ravaged and destroyed by war. But it is never in the same place two nights in a row.

J'Nall does not exist in the sunlight, but clues to its new location do. The bones of a Kobakai clatter sun bleached and naked in the wind and each piece marks a trail to the new location of the city that night. In that way, they can service their customers but make it much harder to be attacked by Paladins and the like being that no one would know what sort of terrian they would face the next night.

When the sun begins to set, people gather at the new city site and start unrolling their tents and setting up their stands. The heat from the scorching day lasts long into the dark night but the cool breezes helps to replenish the tired bodies of those visiting the town. As the sun begins to rise, all of the stands are broken down and the tents are rolled back up and the bustling city disappears. All traces of footprints are wiped away by the drifting sands the air is still and quiet again.

But if you are the sort to follow the Kobrakai bones and find yourself into the slippery city of J'Nall, be prepared. Not only is it a huge city of cloth covered vendor booths, but it is carnally alive. Music pours from street musicians pipes, belly dancers shake their talents in the streets and small stands offer kabobs and wine. This is a city where anything you want has a price.

Because the other Nations largely ignore the Wastelands, J'Nall has near freedom to exist. The Black Market does the most booming trade in rare and valuable items or questionable origion. Not to mention that it has more weapons vendors than any other city on the planet. You need a poison to destroy the man that broke your heart? You want to outfit your army with weapons and armor? Or you desire the carnal pleasures of another warm body for the night? Perhaps an assassin to make a different body cold?

J'Nall has what you are looking for.

Reteni pulled the light cloak tighter around his chin and down over his face. Hunger has yet again pulled him towards this frighteningly busy city. Due to the fact that it moves on a frequent basis he had had a rather difficult time tracking it down. Although his stomach protested and begged him to enter so he could buy food with his newly acquired money he still lingered just outside of the lamps glow. His heart raced almost to the point he wondered if he would drop dead if he moved. The Vaypers shook so hard that the slight jingling of the coins could be heard, even over the hustle and bustle of the cloth city. With a nervous sigh he took a step forward and into the tents.

It seemed that no one was even paying attention to the nomad. People such as him, with cloaks and money, were seen often here and so they didn't question it when he made his way through. The mix of smells and sights captivated his curiosity. Even though he had been here hundreds of times and each time was willing, he still felt nervous. Ever since he watched his mother taken by these kind of men he never felt safe among them. It was the stories of the outside world that kept him returning.

As he passed on of the pub tents that smelt particularly appetizing he heard some talk of the rebuilding. This was a odd but curious topic that he had only heard bits and pieces of. Thinking it was a good place to get some food he went inside. The bartender was rather shocked by the amount the nomad gave him but did not question him and gave him food equal to the amount of gold. A smile formed on his face as he packed away the food that would last him at least a few weeks if not a month if he was careful.

Instead of leaving as he usually did after getting his food he decided to sit down close to the men and listen to their conversation as he at some of his food. Most of it seemed uninteresting. It didn't take long for him to become bored with their talking. Yet he still did not leave. He turned his attention instead to another group who were speaking of a land of cold and snow. Only once had he ever seen snow and that was at the base of the mountains here in the Wastelands. He loved the cold and this particular land was one he wanted to go see. It was his shyness that kept him from doing so.

People say we should not exist,

User Image

"What did I say? We are not going flying. As it is, its bright daylight." This was the third time this day that Teiros had to say no to something even he wanted to do. They couldn't just go flying around. It wasn't as if it was against the rules. It wasn't as if anyone would or could stop them. More importantly, it wasn't as if the sky was owned by anyone. It was the fact that here, even in the Wasteland, such acts were strange. Beasts of all types were walking around but none of them were huge and going into the sky. At least where he could see it. Now, if there were more of their kind, more flying reptiles, maybe things would be different. However, Teiros couldn't see one beast on the horizon that was even close enough to hiding the massive form.

"From the sky we would look just like any bird. No one is even around." It was a sharp voice, strong and demanding. Even when it was being near childish. The urge to fly for any winged beast is an urge they can't keep down. When one has been earth bound for at least a week, that certain urge gets out of control. Even if it is a beast that is known for destruction. Well, it wasn't known. It wasn't even a beast people knew much about. On top of that, no one knew that they existed.

A rare combination. Two souls, one human and one beast, tied within one body yet with the ability to change into the second and larger form. For a human, even as strong as Teiros was, it was hard to keep a beast like he was, down for a certain amount of time. Eventually, Codeal, the mental voice, won. It wasn't as if he cared who had control, but Teiros knew that such a large beast in the air, even if once they got high enough it would just look like a buzzard, would be dangerous. Hunters other than himself would be out, and seeing such a beast with a coat as beautiful as Codeal's, would make them want to risk their own life for the money that would come from it. It was such a hard life, especially with one pestering to get airborn. Dragons. So hard to tame, so hard to live with, but for people like him, you don't have a choice. He was born into this life, just like his ancestor. A strange marking, a band of two circling gold lines on his right forearm, marked him as cursed. His mother said it was a blessing. He now can't call it either. Cursed with a mind much deadlier than he was and blessed with a form much stronger than he was. Such a life had to be kept hidden. And that was what Codeal didn't want.

"If we cant fly then lets go do something. I can't stand just sitting here watching the heat swirl." At least it wasn't another push for the air. Standing, Terios felt his body adjust to the movement before looking around. The nearest place from where he was, was the city. Well, not much of a city. A market place but unlike any other. It was something his family once followed. Bones, always laid about and directing. A city that moves without any traces. Just like them. "Then lets find it. If anything its something to do." That voice. If only it would shut up but that would never happen unless he died. Death wasn't in his book any more. Nor was it there for long. One step in front of the other soon lead to a run. Many thought it foolish to be running, wasting precious water in sweat, but when one's target is a pub of sorts, its worth it to hurry to the next location. Flying would be faster but it would just start another argument. More importantly, it would cause people to be afraid when they land. That wasn't an option.

The city came to life before his eyes, having seen it on the horizon. It was a sight that one would never forget. Sand every where, nothing in sight and then bam. The tents appear before you with their lights and their crowds. It was truly a sight but not one Terios enjoyed. Entering was the easy part, keeping your valuables was the hard part. Thankfully people here could feel who to mess with and who not too. A presence of something very large terrified young thieves. A body that could handle the elements and a good fight was something that tempted fools but the location of valuables kept them at bay until habits showed the location. Money was so well hidden on Terios that he didn't need to worry about the pests in cities. What he did need to worry about was Seers and Rune Writers catching a drift of something not right about him. Codeal may fool every one else, but his presence as a second soul alerted those who lived on the spiritual life, such as Seers.

His hand pushed open the tent fold to the pub. Easily slipping in, he looked about him. People of all types were here but he couldn't find one group that held his interest. Grabbing a mug and paying for it, he made his way to a table. A small group was next to him but one that didn't hold any attention. Interesting. The conversation that was taking place next to him took a turn for something worth while. Ice and snow. The mountains. It sounded like fun. Listening to them, he gave a slight chuckle. Sadly, it was loud enough for it to be overheard. "What are you chuckling at, blonde?"

"You say that those mountains are easy to travel?" A nod from the man allowed him to take his words further without the other man even trying to say anything. "Have you seen the mountains you talk about? I didn't think so. They move more than your tongue." It was all that he said. Standing, he went to the counter and grabbed another beer. They thought he was a drunk man. Good for them. If they tried to travel those mountains, they would have harder luck then they thought. While he never managed to climb the mountains, he watched them closely for a week straight. Being air born at that height was hard to adjust to, but it was worth while. The paths were hard to keep track of. Especially to traverse. Taking a sip of his mug, he waited for one of the men to call him a fool and make him justify his statements. What surprised him is that they just went back to talking, considering him unworthy of even considering. Well, that was their fault. And their lives.

Nervous eyes flickered around the pub as people continued to enter inside. He knew that this place was busy and he knew that he should have just left when he had the chance earlier on. One of these days he knew that his curiosity would get the better of him.

His eyes moved to a certain new comer who seemed very curious. Although many who came here were like that this one seemed more so in his eyes. He was very thankful that he still had his hood up. It prevented anyone from really telling where he was looking so he could easily stare without much trouble. Even with this protection though he tried not to stare. When the man sat down so near his own place he felt his muscles tense to an impossibly tight degree. Something about him frightened him and he really didn't want to get mixed up with him. Somehow he reminded him of the men who took his mother. But only by a little bit.

As the other group argued with him about his chuckle Reteni continued to listen. When the man mentioned that this wonderful land he someday wished to travel to moved he felt intrigued and some of his fear left him. He wished to ask exactly what he meant by move but he was not curious enough for him to speak up about it. Instead he pulled his hood farther over his face and took a quick drink from his mug so it would look like he was lost in his own world instead of eaves dropping.

"Those mountains. Why do they want to traverse them?" It was a question that was bothering both of them. The mountains were not only dangerous to climb but the inhabitants of the mountain could easily be dangerous. Then again, the entire world was dangerous right now. For warriors of any kind, beasts were no easy match. Alone or in groups, there were monsters that would tear apart flesh and bone without caring. In those mountains, its not only beasts that one had to worry about but the environment and then the other blood. The blood that he hated. While most kinds have their opposites, his blood line had way too many. They were outcasts, like another blood but being rare was the hardest thing to live with. It was the mountains that held the Shadowmasters, his enemy, and they were the ones who ruled those mountains. The climb was treacherous but the journey within would be the killer if the mountains didn't.

A shiver went up his spine as he sipped at his mug. "Someone's watching." A casual look around ended up with his back being placed against the counter. Who? Why? Eyes looked at everyone before he faked a hiccup. Act drunk, gives him more of a chance to watch without pissing anyone off. Drunks were famous for being sporadic. There was a split second when he looked at Reteni that he felt that shiver again. Was this the person who was watching him? Rubbing his shoulder he paused for a moment before thinking twice. "I don't like this. Who ever is watching us isn't someone simple."

"Those mountains. I know how to get there. If you are interested, I can give a map of the easiest route." A tricky move, but he had a feeling that it was the mountains that had his spy interested in him. Only explanation to this feeling was the fact that after his outburst of the mountains, he felt the eyes on him. Maybe if he drew the man out, he would be able to judge for himself if this man was a danger or not.

Reteni gripped the mug in his hand to the point that even with his white skin his even whiter knuckles could be seen. How had he noticed him looking at him. He understood that there were some people out there who had talents such as this but until now he had never come across one. The pub was far to public for him to easily run and he still had food to go through. No way was he letting it go to waste. So this left him with a bit of a problem. Should he ignore him or respond? Would ignoring him anger the man? Shaking he raised his mug to his lips and took a small sip. He turned his face from the man and stared instead at the table.

"Im curious about it. That is all" he said, his voice softer than the wind. If the man even heard him it would be a miracle. His heart was racing impossibly fast. If this man tried anything he would choose to leave the food on the plate and bolt with what he had in his pack. It would be a waste but at least he'd get away with his life. As he sat there and as his nervousness grew, so did the mist that surrounded his skin. He wished so much to just vanish at that moment but it was not a good time to do so.

"If I say I don't like something, don't go and do it, nimrod." That voice. It was so irritating! Negative and inconsiderate. Codeal didn't care about anything else other then being the strongest and fighting. He was often times ignorant of the simple things and yet anything that revolved around a threat or danger, he was not only all there for but in high alert. In places like this were there were a lot of people, Codeal just wouldn't shut up and leave Teiros to his own life. Stay away from crowds and places where Teiros might actually feel like helping. Codeal thought it weakness to help, but Teiros couldn't help it. Someone in here was interested and he felt as if he had information he could add to the curious mind. Even if the information was small.

Teiros looked around once, then twice. He had heard it. Heard something. Who ever it was was curious. Which one? Rational thoughts were especially important for a situation like this. Who ever spoke said it so softly that anyone would just simply pass it by. However, he was alert already. He was focused for the someone who was watching his form. He was prepared for a fight. As was Codeal. Yet, that voice. So soft, to remain hidden. Hidden, that was who the speaker was. The shadows, and those who weren't active in conversation or anything else. There. One that fit everything the voice spoke of. A cloak was over his form, hiding everything. No facial expression, but the voice stated everything. "I have information that may satisfy your curiosity." His voice was soft, gentle and sweet to the ears. With his hands by his side, he was a sweet image. Either this man was afraid or this was a trap.

"However, I don't like crowds. Would you like to talk about this else where?" He was tired of being here. He wanted to know more about this person, and if they were as hidden as they were, they must not crowds either. Looking at the table where the man was, he could easily figure out why the conversation of ice and snow was an explanation of the feeling of being watched. Right next to where he was sitting at. In a room that was loud like this, neither voice was well carried. If this man wanted to know information, he would be listening as intently as Teiros was. With the amount of food on this man's table, it was obvious he was hungry. "Food here isn't all that taste worthy. Fresh food off the flame is more filling and healthier." He was trying to keep things light. It was his nature. He hated serious talk unless the situation called for it. Being serious now that he found the man who was watching him wasn't a priority any more.

Reteni's nervous grip never released. More than just knowing someone was watching, now the man knew where he was. He was still mentally cursing the fact that his curiosity was wanting to follow so he could learn about this place more. Even if he never ended up going there. When the man offered information he found it strange at his tone. Only from his mother had he hears such kind and gentle words. When the offer to leave came up he felt himself tense again. If he didn't do something soon he would most certainly either pass out or run from this place never to see it again. His next idea was a daring move for his kind but he thought it was the best option at the moment.

"You do not wish to harm me do you?"
he questioned the man without looking at him. He hoped that he was as kind as his tone and that he truly had no ill intention for him.

"This man is strange. I can't figure him out." Codeal never did enjoy those who he couldn't read. However, this man was not easy to figure out. He seemed to be, what was the word, afraid? It puzzled them both. Out here, within the Wastelands, a person who seemed afraid of danger or even of life itself? No. That couldn't be the case. Something else must be going on here. Only a child could be this afraid, but this was a full grown man, wasn't it? "They must know of your weakness. Why are you tempting death?"

"I'm not tempting death or walking into a trap. This one is too.. strange for it to be so." Teiros answered back mentally. Codeal may have a point though. This man was quiet, acting as if scared, let alone that question he asked. Would he bring harm? It had him stunned. out here, in one of the harshest environments and most deadliest place to find and encounter and enemy, and this man was asking if he would bring harm? Teiros could only offer a smile as he thought. "No. I only strike those who cause me harm first." It was the truth, answered only a few seconds after the question was asked. He couldn't answer this question any other way. Clearly this man was interested, but there was still something fishy about him.

A very small smile stretched across the Vaypers face. That response was very familiar to him. His kind responded in much the same way. They will never attack unless attacked first. If this man was telling the truth then their small encounter should not be as bad as he had imagined it would be. Because he felt a bit calmer with him by no means did this mean his guard was dropped. In fact it was heightened. For now he felt he could agree to go with him. His curiosity was just far to strong for him at this moment and this man also mentioned better food which was something he had been craving for quite some time.

"Then alright, where did you have in mind for us to go?"
he asked him as he turned his still heavily hooded face to him. Another thing that calmed him was the fact that this man had not seen his face so he would no possibly know what he was. As long as he stayed hidden he believed that he would be alright. If that fell through then he always had his invisibility to fall back on.

So, he convinced this man that he was safe. It was strange, but it was something that he had grown used to. Children always had the 'sixth' sense and noticed that he was far stronger than he looked. He enjoyed playing with them, and he grew used to having to convince them that he wasn't some large beast that was going to gobble them up. Though Codeal always thought differently. When the man before him asked where they would be going, Teiros thought quickly. If this was a trap, he couldn't bring him to his outcropping of a home. Thankfully, that wasn't the only source of food that he knew about. Finishing his mug, which he had been sipping the entire time, he nodded. "If you would follow me." This was the point where he put his trust into the man he was just talking to.

Working his way back out of the tent, he looked around for only a second, keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity around. It was a short walk to where he was headed too unlike his walk here earlier. Without even looking behind him, Teiros headed to what looked like a pile of rocks piled on top of each other. Placing his hand on the rocks, he felt the heat as Codeal took the information and sorted out the information they needed. "It is safe here. No one knows of this spot besides me." It was here where he turned around. Codeal was sharing his mind directly now, prepared for a fight if that was what this man was truly after. Something told him otherwise. Something told him that all this man wanted was information. If the man was truly following him, and wanted information, he would take him within the outcropping and into a safe house of sorts. A cool spot during the day and a warm and safe spot at night.

It didn't take long for Reteni to gather his things. His nerves were dancing in his stomach and made his mouth taste sour. It was this sort of reckless trust that got his mother taken from him. Perhaps he was destined to meet the same fate. As these thoughts moved through his mind he could still feel thought that this man meant no harm at all. In fact he even seemed just as wary of him as Reteni was of the man.

As they left, Reteni stayed a good distance behind. He made sure he could still see him but the distance was insurance in case this man decided to turn and grab him at any moment. When they reached the strange pile of rocks he couldn't help but watch in slight wonder. How could he tell such a thing from touching the stones? It was curious indeed and if he ever got the courage to ask about it he would.

When the man finished he felt a slight tension between the two. As if both were waiting for the other to attack. As the seconds passed he could sense the tension growing. To prevent himself from losing his mind he spoke. Of the time he'd been alive this was by far the most speaking he had ever had with a single person. His kind was a very shy and cautious race. Meeting new people was NOT one of their strong suits.

" I do not wish to hurt you either," he spoke in the same soft as a gentle breeze tone. Here, away from the crowds the man had a chance of hearing him better.

"You are a strange person, I have not seen anyone such as you in this market before and I have been to this market quite a few times" he said slowly, his eyes never leaving the man. It was then he realized they had not even introduced themselves. It was a custom he saw done many times in the market but one he never had done. Only his mother knew his name. She said that the honor of knowing ones name belonged to the one he was to fall in love with. This principle he was determined to live by.

As he waited for a response he took to observing the mans looks. He seemed strong and frightening and yet at the same time oddly gentle. His eyes read a whole scroll of stories in them, many obviously not happy. It was not his business to know but it did give him some reassurance as to the safety of his situation.

Somehow Sairaith and Tabarias had stumbled across a strange market town. She had no idea how, it seemed almost as if the market had just appeared around them. One moment they had been following the strange bleached bones of some creature she didn’t recognize and the next the sounds of a bustling marketplace surrounded them. Sairaith pressed the black bandana closer to her mouth, vaguely wondering which was worse, the smell of a rotting land or the smell of this many bodies together in one location. The urge to vomit rose up in the throat, but she swallowed and suppressed it. It wouldn’t do to be sick in front of her king. A drunk man stumbled into her and Sairaith caught him out of reflex, then realized what she’d done and tried to shove him away, but the man had wrapped his arms around Sairaith’s narrow waist and was groping her a**. Sairaith screamed and struggled violently, finally kneeing the man in the groin and dancing away from him. She shamelessly dashed behind Tabarias, using him as a shield from the dirty man who was curled up on the ground nursing his injured balls.

I dunnae think I loike this place, M’l….Tabarias,” She mumbled from behind him. Suddenly she realized how close she was pressed against Tabarias. She stumbled backwards to distance herself from her king and looked down as her tanned cheeks turned a bright red.

"I'll do whatever it takes..."

"Welcome to J'Nall Miss Sairaith... and I fully agree with you there. Sadly, your welcome to this town was...kinder than my own was. Excuse me for a moment." Tabarias' right hand came up, finger extended from a clenched fist, the end of it pointing at the man on the ground. White light began condensing around the end of his finger, a small ball of light forming on the tip. Before the ball could form and harden the Lightmaster shot it towards the man. It was not meant to be a lethal strike, but a rough punch of energy that would finally get the b*****d to flee. The hardlight burst struck the man's shoulder and sent him rolling away, where he immediately hopped up to his feet and ran away, screaming about invisible attackers.

That dealt with to his partial satisfaction, the large man turned around to look at Sairaith, tilting his head to one side so that his blue eyes were vertical as he studied her. He made a mental note to never do anything she might consider inappropriate - he did not want to find out which was stronger, her knee or his armor. After shaking his head to banish that particular thought from his mind, Tabarias gestured out towards the rest of the market town.

"Now then, let's say we go get something to take care of that smell for you? J'Nall has a few stores/stalls that sell scented cloths for people to wear. Then we can see about getting some comestibles or a procuring the services of a guide."
