Today was page-hunting day, or so Painite had deemed. And really, he wouldn't have argued that even if he had the rank to do so.

With some luck, they'd catch the page. Then the evening would be even more fun. He had a score to settle.

Through, now, they were just about done laying their trap, close to where the page with the shield had caught him last time. It was a similar set-up, through the hapless civilian...

Well, wasn't so hapless. Or particularly unwilling.

He had Gently in position, holding tight on her, looking like he was about to start draining her, through of course he wouldn't. Teasingly, through, he leaned to whisper in her ear.

"Im ready. If you are..." He leaned further down, to kiss the nape of her neck. "Then start the screaming."

That'll lure a 'protector of justice' in no time, for sure.

Gently all but purred at her captor, leaning back against him and closing her eyes as he kissed her neck. She chuckled at the whole situation, absolutely loving it. Playing the victim? She could do that, though her terrible attacker was all too familiar to her by now.

"Keep that up, buddy," she hummed, but she knew she had more to focus on then goofing around and flirting with him. She couldn't sense if anyone was nearby yet, powered down as she was, but they had laid the trap as well as they could. From what they knew about the knight, he stayed around or started his patrol from the library, and he was a sucker for screaming ladies.

Maybe she was just inferring that part. What knight would leave a damsel in distress?

So she took a breath and started screaming like her life depended on it, even pushing against Alunite to try and escape. Had to make it look believable, even if their target hadn't arrived yet. And sure enough, the screaming worked. A knight appeared from the roof of the library, taking the advice of a much more experienced knight he had met and leaping straight down instead of climbing his way awkwardly and slowly.

It certainly saved time.

He landed hard not too far away, straightening up and recognizing the corrupted senshi immediately.

"Release her!" Camelot ordered, shield up and ready already. Gently looked at him when she could, her face terrified and desperate for his help, while at the same time she was sizing him up. He looked ready for a fight, just to free her. This was going to be fun.

With her powered down, he didn't have to apply too much force to keep her in his grasp, through he had to at least apply some pressure for it too look believable. Thankfully, their victim was quick on the uptake.

And it was just the page Alunite had ordered.

"Oh, well then." He leaned close, smirking right beside her head. This was a dual-purpose movement - a signal to Gently that he was about to release her, and hell, if he could get mister self-righteous to think he was playing her like if she was a toy, the better. "I guess I'll have to come back to your later, sweetie." He all but purred, then flung her toward the back of the alley.

"Well, well." He crossed his arms. "If it isn't a good friend of mine..."

Gently did a good job of falling away from him, hitting the wall neaby and looking at him in horror, then at Camelot with an equal amount of confusion and fear. She had reached her limit, apparently, and darted from the alley as fast as her legs could carry her.

Camelot watched her go, even moving to protect her path.

The corrupted senshi was familiar to him, but he looked different now. That was never, ever, a good thing. It meant he was stronger, and his aura matched the idea. But that was not enough to run Camelot off, not now that he had seen the villain trying to hurt someone and knew that he would go off and do it again.

"Friend might be a bit generous," Camelot countered. Gently was hiding, waiting for a good time to power up. She didn't want to do it immediately, lest he figure out what the whole ploy was. Instead, she was climbing up a building the hard way: she was literally get the drop on him. It was one of her favorite moves, and it seemed the perfect opportunity.

Camelot frowned seriously.

"You didn't learn to stay away from this area last time? I don't want to fight you, but I cannot let you continue to hurt innocent people."

"Hey, maybe if your area wasn't filled with free targets." Some lovelier than others, certainly. "I't be easier to relocate. But I can't resist a lovely lady..."

Was he pushing it a bit far ? Maybe.

"Well then." He slid into a more serious battle pause, and waved his finger in a clear message - bring it. "Let's dance, shall be ? I havn't got all night, here !"
PostPosted: Thu Jul 21, 2011 10:12 am

Camelot growled at that. This guy was pushing his luck, coming around here just because he wanted to mess with Camelot himself, and was using innocent people to do it. At least, that was the impression he got.

He frowned.

"I will not fight you!" he said stubbornly, but he would have no choice, and he could see that. "You don't have to do this: you were a senshi once! We can find a way to bring you back."

He knew very little about corruption, besides the basics. Senshi taken by the negaverse. But he believed anything corrupted, including the Negaverse soldiers themselves, could be cleansed. Purified.

Gently was above, peering down at them. She narrowed her eyes at the duo, recognizing Camelot from the last time she had dropped down on him from above. If only she had known then that he was the same guy that hurt Alunite! She did notice that he was not fighting, and imagined Alunite would have to throw the first punch. That might be better, get him on the edge and defense early.

Alunite laughed.

He laughed just like if Camelot had told him the best joke he's ever had, the laughter as amused as it was mocking. "Ah." He shook his head. "How little you know... How you people love to assume... But then, isn't that what you guys do best..."

Indeed.

"I was never anything else." He frowned, then, amusement leaving his face, replaced by seriousness. "And no one will ever make anything else out of me. I'll die before that happens." He would not be mislead - he would not become a traitor, no matter the cost.

And it was then that Alunite charged, apparently sick of waiting. He geared up to punch Camelot's midsection.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 21, 2011 3:26 pm

"You're wrong! There's more than this for all of us, and we don't- OMPH"

Camelot's speech was cut off when a fist found his stomach. He bent over, the wind rushing out of his lungs and bile rising in his throat. Chain mail did little for hard hits, and he hadn't moved his shield in time to block the attack. He was sent falling backwards.

He hit the ground mostly of his own volition, pulling himself backwards and off balance to get away from his attacker. He took a haggard breath and brought his legs up to his chest, kicking out since he was still close enough to Alunite and slamming his feet into the corrupted senshi's knees.

Painite, above, winced, and debated powering up. Something stopped her, though, at least for this first round. Alunite needed to get some pay back. She couldn't power up until she was jumping down, so she had to wait.

Camelot was struggling to get to his feet as quickly as possible.

Yep, Alunite was definitively done listening. It was time for something more... constructive than the lies Camelot had thought up for him.

Mainly, smacking him around a bit.

He hadn't expected him to fight back so easily, and the hit was pretty precise, through Alunite did a back-flip and landed back on his feet a few pace away, through his landing was shaky. He wasn't sure if his knees had taken some damage, or if it was just the pain of the actual hit.

He couldn't help but wonder what was taking Gently so long, hope that nothing was causing her any trouble... He had no time to look up, no time to comb for auras, not now that the battle had started.

"Umbra Eclipse !" Camelot knew how this perticular song went by now.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 7:43 pm

Camelot had to act quickly and on impulse, though he didn't want to fight the man. Well, he did want to, but it was an urge he had to learn how to fight. It happened whenever he came across a Nega that he knew, it seemed. Or in this case a corrupted senshi. Maybe it was because he knew they had done wrong before, and would continue doing wrong after. Seeing them hurting another person, who seemed oddly familiar in this case, just re-solidified the idea that they were beyond help.

Camelot could not let himself start to believe in that.

He also knew that he couldn't let himself be a punching bag, and he couldn't let the bad guy run off to hurt someone else. He swore in his throat when Alunite flipped backwards. A flippy guy, to be sure, and damn fast. And then he vanished, and Camelot remembered that move from before.

Damn it.

Gently took that as her que. Camelot was off balance and trying to find Alunite, and about to lunge forward to where the corrupt had disappeared in an effort to cut him off. Gently leaped from the roof then, powering up while she was halfway down the fall, The Spirit of Mr. Saddles leaping into her hand when she summoned it. She drove the javelin downwards as she fell.

The feeling of the weapon hitting and sliding through flesh was unlike anything she could really describe. There was a resistance before the puncture, the momentum too much for the chain mail, then a slow slide through muscle and flesh. Another jerk, the javelin point bursting through the other side, and then the hard, jarring connect of the javelin actually striking the ground.

All this happened in one brilliant, fathomless moment.

Camelot, on the other hand, wasn't enjoying it quite as much. The attacked had come from no where, and caught him when he was moving forward, body low. One leg had been forward, the other back to steady him as he lunged, and the javelin had struck the side of his hip at an angle. He couldn't fathom the damage in that moment, as pain exploded in his body.

"Arrrghhh!!!' Camelot yelled in panic and horror, and he swung his shield around so hard and so fast that the Captain was caught off guard. It slammed into her face and she was sent sprawling against the near wall, the javelin left in Camelot's upper leg.

And he still didn't know where Alunite went.

That was, perhaps, the most beautiful thing Alunite had ever seen in his whole life. Poetry in motion, perhaps. Painite descended like if she'd been doing this her whole life, moved just right. The sound was sickening, but still.

The downside to this was that he was wasting time - through Camelot wouldn't be able to see him, wide-eyed and slack-jawed, Painite certainly would.

Then, it finally hit him that he was on timer, and rushed in to deliver his own hit - pinning the page down with his foot before kicking him back against the wall.

He looked at Painite. She nodded back at him. He wanted to make him suffer more, of course... But this was safer that way. Someone could come in any moment.

Alunite's hand jerked back, through there was something in his expression that had changed. Uncertainty ? Reluctance ? It was hard to tell.

Yet, his hand struck at his chest - actually struct right through it in the most violating way imaginable. It was clear that Alunite hadn't done this for real before - his grip was rather loose, and shaky.

That would, ultimately, be what would save Camelot.

Painite pushed herself away from the wall, blood running from her nose and where her lip had been split by the force of the shield. No wonder Alunite had been bruised like a peach after fighting this guy: that thing was just a piece of wood, but getting hit in the face with it hurt.

She turned in time to see Alunite moving near to Camelot, nodding her head at what she realized he was going to do. Reassurance, maybe? She had never reached into anyone's chest before, and she watched, wide eyed, as Alunite went for it.

A knight's starseed? She found herself suddenly wanting one. Wanting this one. Maybe more, if they could swing it.

Camelot had fallen when he was hit by the corrupt senshi, hitting the wall in a daze. His head was swimming from the pain he was in, and he had no time to react before something very strange happened. Pain erupted from everywhere at once, and he heard himself gag without realizing he had made the sound. It was thick and harsh, and he starred at Alunite for what felt like an impossibly long moment to understand. Too long, maybe.

His eyes narrowed. His starseed. He remembered the lesson Elke had given him, an eternity ago. There was a star, a crystal, in his chest, and without it he would die. He remembered seeing bodies of people without theirs. He remembered vowing to stop them from taking more.

From taking his.

"Arrrrghhh! No!!"

Bling panic took him, and he swung his arm as hard as he could, gripping the shield in his hand. He slammed it into Alunite's chest. He heard the wood splinter, crack, but maybe it was something else. He didn't care what he broke, as long as that thing got its hand out of his chest, and left his starseed where it belonged.

Alunite was hit. Square in the face, in fact, leaving a row of pinpricks along his cheek. Splinters.

More than that, this was the impact of a panicked, grown man - a super-powered man at that. Alunite was knocked right out of Camelot's chest, bouncing back and hitting the opposite wall, sliding down and slumping from the impact.

He was still awake - it was evident from his breathing - but he was in obvious pain.

This didn't mean Camelot was out of trouble, however. He was still down, and the captain was still very much valid.

This is, until something happened. The air filled with a new aura. Not just any kind of aura. A senshi aura.

But not just any kind of senshi aura. Oh no.

It was pure luck. Themis hadn't even been in henshin when he's heard Camelot scream, but Alunite's hesitation and Camelot's quick reaction had brought him all the time he had needed. He had not known, however, who exactly it was until he had powered up.

He turned the corner a split second later, sporting buttwings that were simply impossible to miss. white gloved hands clenched into a fist so tight that his arms outright shook.

And if looks could kill, both Alunite and Painite would already be dead.

"You again ?" He spat at the corrupted senshi. "I've given you your warning last time." Then, he focused on Painite.

"So how about you two ******** and I dance a little bit..." There was more rage in the senshi's voice than Camelot would ever remember hearing - perhaps more than he could fathom ever coming out of the normally calm boy.

Reinforcements had arrived. And the heavy artillery was pissed.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 8:59 pm

Painite saw Alunite go flying and her heart leaped into her throat. "Alunite!!"

Growling, she looked to the older man on the ground. The knight. He was panting heavily, his breathing painful, his body rebelling against him. His limit had been reached, but that wasn't enough for Painite. He had hurt her Corrupt companion, and for that he was going to suffer.

She managed to reach him, grab hold of the javelin still sticking out of him, before she felt the powerful aura of an Eternal senshi.

Crap.

Camelot looked up to see Themis, relief flooding him at once. He moved to say something, maybe get up, but Painite twisted the javelin in his leg and made him give a strangled cry of agony instead. She grinned at Themis, the anguished cry blaring like her theme song.

"Someone looks like he needs a nap. I'd be more than obliged to put you down, little boy." Her voice rolled with her growl, but her gaze flickered to Alunite. He was down and looked hurt, and Themis was an Eternal senshi. The Knight was down, but that just left her to combat a very pissed off, powerful enemy. A strategic withdrawal might have been in order, but for now she had no choice but to stand her ground.

Camelot's screams certainly had an effect, but perhaps not the one Painite had intended for them to have.

It was only making Themis more pissed off. He moved to get closer to her, but he suddenly stopped.

And gave a good kick straight into Alunite's chest.

Normally, this might have hurt. But something quite different happened right there and then. Camelot's screams were bad enough...

But Alunite outright howled. It wasn't just a '******** kicked me' thing, no - it was downright primal and blood-curdling. Raw pain.

Even Themis winced, if only briefly, before whatever sympathy he had was replaced by his rage. "Well, that sounded painful."

He kind of wanted to hear it again, but it was a dangerous game to play, and he was unwilling to see Camelot go through torture just so he could satisfy his own need to watch the corrupted suffer as much as he possibly could. So it was another quick kick, and then he charged Painite, quicker than any normal human could even have dreamed of - aiming right for her solar plexus.

She would have to take her spear out to properly fight him. And when she did... He could lead her away.
