Established at the same time as Megalopolis, the Heroes Association was the original high-and-mighty secret society for mutants. Back in the early stages, it took up only a single small building and was ran by a man named Richard Sinclair. He was a well-known man within the city, having been an early settler and also, surprisingly enough, a criminal. He was captured in Canada for having "unreal metamorphosis", which is what they coined a mutation at the time. He was a mutant in the early stages, back when things were still fresh and strange. Being released on bail, he traveled to Megalopolis to live somewhere he knew would be safe. That is when he and another man named Dean Walker purchased an old apartment building and turned it into the headquarters for the brand new Heroes Association. Richard ran the Heroes Association with Dean for twenty-seven years, at which point Richard was tragically killed trying to stop a bank robbery.

Following the tragic death of Richard Sinclair, Dean Walker took over as leader of the association. He took in senior member Dean Jacobs as the new second in command, and together they formed what became known as the "Dean Team". The duo made many great strides for the association, earning enough donations from the community to expand their resources and move into a much bigger, more lavish building and renovate both it and the old building. The old building became known as the "Sinclair Building" in remembrance of Richard Sinclair, and the new building became known as the "Deans' Building". The building was their new headquarters, providing increased protection and residential areas. Dean Walker led the Heroes Association for another forty years following Richard Sinclair's death, in which time he made great strides. He eventually passed away from old age in his bed.

Following the passing of Dean Walker, Dean Jacobs passed on his right to take over as leader and gave it to a younger member. Dean Jacobs claimed this was due to the fact he himself was quite old, and he would rather spend his remaining years enjoying the association instead of trying to direct it. Others came to realize it was due to the fact that he was coping with the loss of Dean Walker. The "Dean Team" was over with, and it struck a hard blow for the entire community of Megalopolis. The new leader, a twenty-four year old lad by the name of Gregory Willows, had huge shoes to fill. For the first couple of years it was rocky, with both Deans out of the picture and the young new leader trying to figure things out on his own. The Heroes Association began to go south, with current members leaving and others forming rebellions on the new leader. For six years the Heroes Association struggled to stay afloat, but on the anniversary of the day Gregory Willows was granted leader status, a gang of heroes-gone-villain set the "Deans' Building" aflame, with all its members inside. In a matter of just a few hours, over thirty people lost their lives in the fire, including Gregory Willows, and the building was destroyed. The Heroes Association was without a home, a leader, and direction.

The tragic death of Gregory Willows and the destruction of the "Deans' Building", a beloved monument for the late "Dean Team", caught the attention of a very strong politician in Megalopolis. Judge Stephen Vella contacted Dean Jacobs, who survived the raid on the "Deans' Building", with a proposition to rebuild the Heroes Association if he, Dean Jacobs, would be the second in command, allowing Stephen Vella to take the position of leader. Dean Jacobs accepted the agreement, although he was in his late sixties by that time. Stephen Vella, having plenty of money and fame, bought the old "Deans' Building" land plot and erected a park in memory of the "Dean Team". He also bought three other buildings, marking the largest building as the main headquarters and the other two buildings as "outposts". The fourth building, the "Sinclair Building", he turned into a recreation and retirement shelter for the Heroes Association, allowing Dean Jacobs to be in command there after he helped Stephen Vella rebuild the Heroes Association. Stephen Vella became known as the "Father of the Heroes", rebuilding the association so well that even older members returned, and soon it became a spectacle for the entire city. Stephen Vella was loved for his work, and renowned for being the judge who became a leader.

For the next seventy years the Heroes Association remained steady. No large tragedies struck the association, and everything ran smoothly. Dean Jacobs passed on while watching television at the retirement center in the old "Sinclair Building", eleven years after Stephen Vella took over the association. Stephen Vella passed on of old age, similar to Dean Walker, and became a legend within the association. The association went through two more generations of leaders. Margaret Beth became the first woman leader, following right after the death of Stephen Vella. She was a strong role model for women of the time, as she cleaned up the streets of Megalopolis, started many charitable centers, and helped the general community at large. The "Mother of the Heroes" retired to the "Sinclair Building" after thirty years of service. She personally appointed a young man by the name of Thomas George to fill her shoes. He did well, stably running the Heroes Association for the next forty years before he, as well, retired to the "Sinclair Building". He left the next leader open to applicants, going through each application and interviewing each member himself. He was highly impressed by a businesswoman by the name of Ahmora Esposito, who came to the association as a new member of Megalopolis. He passed the leader position on to Ahmora Esposito, and allowed her to attempt to fill the shoes of all the other great leaders of the association.
c u r r e n t x c o n d i t i o n s
Ahmora Esposito currently is the leader of the Heroes Association. She is a woman with a strong background in politics, and she also graduated with a bio-engineering degree. She is new to the area and thus not known by many people, though she has started making great changes to the association. While these may come as a shock to the older members, her goals focus on safety, security, and justice. Thomas George and Margaret Beth both have met with Ahmora many times to talk to her about their views of the future of the Heroes Association, and she has made sure to honor their requests before making her own changes. Thomas George and Margaret Beth have given their approval of Ahmora Esposito to the older members of the Heroes Association, and she has slowly opened everyone up to accepting here -- even if she was the newest member to the association when she became the leader.

The largest goal of the Heroes Association under Ahmora Esposito is safety. This includes safety for heroes within the association as well as safety for citizens of Megalopolis. Ahmora Esposito hopes to set up teams to patrol the city to keep crime down, as well as set up shelters for those citizens who want to escape the chaos of city life. The Heroes Association as a whole needs to be prepared to take action to create safety for themselves, fellow members, and all the citizens of the city.

The second largest goal for the association is, of course, justice. It rivals the largest goal, for without justice there cannot be true safety. Ahmora Esposito has made it clear that the Heroes Association must provide justice for the citizens of Megalopolis, making sure that every events is shaped so that justice is served to all parties.
h a r m o n y
Perhaps a personal go of Ahmora Esposito, she wants to see harmony amongst the citizens of Megalopolis and the Heroes Association. By this, she means to build a strong, accepting reputation for the association. It has a history of being extremely too secretive and closed off. She wants to make it easier for heroes to gain admittance to the association, as well as meet with each one personally so as to start off the harmony with a bit of grace.
