She lead a fairly standard childhood and studied hard in school, quickly becoming the top in her class. However, her parents wished for her to marry a particular man for which Kaiya held no love for - he was polite and kind when her parents were around, but she found that he acted more like a lecherous pig whenever the two of them were given time to themselves.
For this reason, she tried to convince her parent to call the engagement off. They thought that she was overreacting, however, and refused to do so. Not wanting to spend the rest of her life with this man, Kaiya made one of the hardest decisions of her life and, after saving up a fair bit of money, moved to America at the age of nineteen without informing her parents. She felt terrible for doing so, but saw that it was the only way in which she would be free to pursue a life of her choosing.
Kaiya managed to get herself a small apartment and scrounge up the money to complete her studies in university. When she finally graduated, she pursued a career as a librarian, which she still holds today. These days, she lives in a small house in Tallenpoint with her cat, Aki.
fillerfillerPERSONALITYKaiya is generally a quiet person, preferring to keep to herself unless she's in the company of friends. This doesn't mean that she's timid, however, for she's quite capable of voicing her opinion and defending herself when she needs to. Kaiya is also a very orderly woman, and despises messes, particularly ones in the library that she works or in her house. She often cleans whenever she has free time, and will get very irritated when people dirty her space.
Despite all of this, Kaiya is actually a fairly kind person, an example of this being that she adopted Aki when she found him out on the street one day. She often donates to charities whenever she can, and will rarely turn down helping someone who needs it. She also has a love of books, and will often borrow reading materials from the library that she works at.
fillerfillerAPPEARANCEKaiya is an averagely sized woman, standing at about 5'7"; she's also fairly slim and not very well-endowed. Her eyes are bright green in colour, often making her appear to be livelier than she really is. Kaiya's hair is long and black, and goes down to the middle of her back - she often keeps it up in a neat ponytail, however, and it's rare to see her with messy hair.
Her clothes are often casual, save for when she's working, but they're always neat and pristine. She may be wearing a fairly simple sweater with some jeans, but you can be sure that it's a very CLEAN ensemble regardless. She also has terrible eyesight, and therefore can normally be seen wearing a delicate pair of glasses - seeing her without them normally means that she's lost them, something which rarely happens.
