It felt strangely soothing to be back in school, surrounded by faces both new and old. It seemed as though he'd missed a lot while tromping around the woods in a daze, but G was so relieved to be somewhere familiar that trying to stay on top of all the new information was the last thing on his mind. What he was thinking about instead probably wouldn't surprise any who knew him. He was hungry!
Some unfortunate student had left their school bag unattended in one of the hallways, and... well, the monster had managed to get his entire head inside of it. Inside were books, papers, something that suspiciously looked like glue... It all tasted the same to Gargantuan--delicious! Unfortunately, he looked far from subtle, sitting on the floor with a bag over his head while rustling and munching sounds came from it.
The monster, however, was oblivious. Life was good.

A new student, and a new school. Bea was overwhelmed with joy! The sensation of this new experience, the smell of new books, the opportunity to make friends! She loved it all. Unfamiliar faces passing from her left and right. They seemed too busy to stay and chat with a newcomer.
But then she saw a large greenish beast sitting in the middle of the hallway. His head was stuffed into a bag.
"JACK SKELLINGTON!" Was he stuck? Is he in trouble? Who knows! Strange sounds were coming from it though... Bea rushed over to him believing he got his head stuck in his own bag. She grabbed onto it with both hands and pulled upward as hard as she could. Pieces of books, paper, and various other things flew out of the bag and fell to the ground. "Are you okay?!" Bea said in a concerned yet loud voice.

Gargantuan practically jumped out of his skin as the voice echoed down the hall. Loud sound! Was he getting yelled at? Was he going to get sent to the Princess Corner? Or, even worse, detention! As the bag was yanked off his head, the monster flailed a little, a half-eaten book still clenched tightly in his jaws even as he snatched at his ear-fins. He was prepared! More loud noises could come his way, and he'd be ready for them!
...Oh. But it wasn't Hellma at all. In fact, it was someone he didn't recognize at all! The book fell from his mouth as he gaped for a moment, but it wouldn't be long until his tail began to bang happily against the nearby walls.
"Huulloooooooo," A large hand lifted itself and scrunched its fingers at the ghost in a form of a wave. "You be swimming? G like swimming!" She was all wet, after all, and that was a Very Good Thing in the swamp beast's mind.

A book... in his mouth? And half eaten no less!! Bea was confused. What kind of student eats his own books! Maybe it wasn't his book, or even his bag. Either way, the poor thing must have been hungry. Bea signed a relief to see the beast wasn't in trouble.
His voice was deep and and his grammar was elementary. "Huh?" Bea looked at herself. She was so used to appearing wet, that she didn't think it was out of the ordinary. "Oh! Um..." She was at a lost for words. How was she supposed to explain? Considering she doesn't really know the reason either. "Yes, I like swimming." Bea smiled at the boil. "You like swimming too?" She giggled, finding him to be so adorable.
He reminded her of her pet Gurgles, an oil spirit. Genuinely happy, simple, and somehow charming. Maybe he was willing to be friends! Bea liked that idea and decided to run with it. "You know, my dorm room is actually an aquarium, so I go swimming quite often! I actually sleep with my fishies at night"

"Yay!" His meal was entirely forgotten as he eagerly leaned forward a little, entirely enraptured with his new self-proclaimed swim buddy. Maybe she and him and Yaya could all go swimming together in the swamps! Then they could all be good friends! His tail banged even harder at the thought, and the monster was looking mighty pleased with himself. Why, then he could introduce her to Riley and Malodore and Jeri and Patchy and Lizzy and 'Sumi and...
...and Gargantuan was completely and utterly distracted by the mention that her room had water. And fishies. His mouth went slack for a moment, hanging there as he stared at her with the eyes he didn't have. Then, his entire face seemed to light up with glee, and he could barely contain himself. "Really? Really-really? G wanna see! G just has normal room, but G likes swamps outside, and fishies!"
Of course, he liked to eat fishies, but if they were introduced as friends, he could work with that too. One didn't eat friends, after all!

Bea was delighted to see he took such interest in her room! Never having any guests in her dorm before, she didn't quite know the regulations as to having other species coming over. "Sure! but..." Bea's smile quickly turned into a frown. "I don't know if you're allowed in our dormitory." Thinking for a moment, she decided to ask G if he knew. "...Are you?"
She liked the idea of having a new friend, but she didn't want to push him away if he really wanted to see her room... She stood there for a while, shifting her weight from one leg to the other. The easiest way to befriend someone is by share an interest.
Swimming... Swimming... Swimming... She was thinking about how can they go swimming together. An Idea!
"Maybe I can visit you in your swamp instead!" Bea immediately perked up and gave G a grin. She was so excited to make a new friend, she completely forgot to even tell him her name. "Ah! I should probably introduce myself first" Bea held out her hand, delicate in comparison to G's. "My name is Beatrix, but you can call me Bea. I assume your name is... Gee? Right?" It was a bit.. strange that she hadn't really noticed what his name was. It didn't really sound like a name when she said it.

Not... allowed? The monster tilted his head this way and that, clearly doing his best to think about it. It wasn't going so well, clearly. "G dunno.... G don't wanna get in trouble." He finally said a bit mournfully. Nothing was worth getting detention again! And he didn't want his new friend to get detention, either! He was just about to fret when the ghost girl offered a brilliant solution!
"You come swim in swamp with G?" His tail was already bashing around with excitement, at the thought, and it was clear that he thought this was a Very Good Idea. In fact, all thoughts of the aquariam and the fishies were forgotten--luckily for the fishies.
He stared at the outstretched hand for a moment before he simply bumped his head against it. "Hullo Beaaaaaaa." He liked that name. It was very easy to say. "Ya. Am G. G a good boy." G and Bea! The monster was looking very pleased with himself.
"Bea new at school?"

G's tail vigorously thumping around made Bea giggle with joy. "Yes, yes! I would love to come swimming in your swamp!" His head under her hand made her feel accepted. She loved it. She looked at G with caring eyes. Something about him that made Bea absolutely tickled with warm feelings. "... That's very good to hear" tilting her head to the side and giving him a sweet smile.
Thinking about the swamp though, she wondered if it was a typical swamp, quiet and murky waters. Was it safe? No harmful creatures are there? Well, at least she would be venturing with a gargantuan monster. Hopefully, if something does happen, G will be there to protect her. Besides, it's his swamp anyway, right?
"Oh, I'm very new to the school. I keep getting lost, and no one has really shown me around. Bea sat there for a bit, sighed, and began to pat G on the head,"What about you G? Are you a new student?"

“Yay!” The beast practically gushed at her enthusiasm, a grin nearly stretching across his entire face. His experience with ghosts was quite limited, but that wasn’t enough to deter him. Nuzzling at her fingers a little longer before he pulled away, the monster looked quite satisfied with himself, and slowly rose to his feet. “Will be lotsa fun, water nice ‘n warm sometimes, ‘n got lots of tasty things to nom.” That was important, of course! Tasty, crunchy little creatures, actually—but Bea probably didn’t need to know about that. G wasn’t sure why people were never interested in those details!
Tilting his head to the side, his ears wiggled thoughtfully. “No one help Bea?” His tone held a mournful note, though he did make a happy grunt for the patting. It felt nice, and, tentatively, the monster slid a bit closer to the girl for more cuddles.
“Nope. G good student. G went back to swamps for long time, but got lost. Back now! G won’t let Bea get lost, see?” He could promise that much, and straightened himself up with a slight beam on his wide face. That’s what friends were for! The ghost girl would be safe with Gargantuan. Maybe.

"Oh, I see! You're a returning student! Well, thank you G... You're so very sweet." Bea let out a giggle as she patted him on the head several times before he had gotten up. She smiled up at him. Her new friend was welcoming and charming. She never expected to make a friend like G. Bea stretched out her hand once more and held onto his, "I can't wait to see your swamp! You'll have to show me around school sometime too, okay?"
And off they went down the halls and out the doors to head towards the swamp.
