Alright. So I've been doing this typical exercising of walking/running at the parks, push ups, and sit ups. I've also been watching what I eat and all of the dieting. But my problem is that with the exercising is that I'm not feeling the burn anymore.
I'm going to the Rec Center at my campus and I know they have a weight room and the machines, but I haven't had the experience to ever you any of that. So my questions are: 1) What type of weight routine can I do with the dumbbells and all of that? 2) What can I do to get my core and my stomach more toned? 3) Does anyone have any tips on how to tone muscle that I already have?
Thanks for reading. I'm pretty sure tina138 is going to jump right on this thread, so I'm looking forward to the answers.

Bring it!Bring It! Pt. 2You should feel those exercises in the videos. If you aren't feeling the burn with your usual routine then it's time to crank up the voltage. Run more, walk less. Increase the distance. Do sit up's until you can't stand it anymore. Same with push up's. What muscle are you looking to tone/do you already have?

I increased my usual routine but I still didn't feel it. I'm think that once I use the weights more and the machines at the Rec more, then it will be a more efficient work out. I'm looking to tone my arms, and core/stomach more. My arms are already strong and there's muscle to then, but it's just not sculpted. My core/stomach needs some work done to it also. Those are the only parts. Because for some reason my calves and legs are already muscular and have cuts to them, which I do not know how that happened.

I can't remember for sculpting if you're to do a lot of reps with small weights or little reps with heavy weights.

If you are looking to just tone alone, then you need to do high reps with light weight. High numbers of reps being (just my personal opinion though) about twelve to twenty reps, depending on how much your lifting, pushing, pulling. Your core, just plain sit ups. But don't hold weights and do sit ups. That puts muscle on top of fat (not calling you fat by any means) and it will bulge out your stomach. But sit ups will work mostly the upper part of your core. But there are exercises that will work your lower core...heaven forbid you end up liking flutter kicks. Cardio was key for me losing lots of fat percentage fast. As Heliko stated, run. Running is one of the best cardio you can do, as well as jump rope. It will increase your metabolism too, if I'm not mistaken. Don't forget to work out all of your body. There have been known to be health issues with muscle imbalances. And let me link you to this site... Exercises On this site you can pick what muscle group you may have trouble with and it will pull up step by step instructions and videos with; free weights, weight machines, medicine balls, you name it. You just have to find what works for you.

There have been people that turn into meat heads and hopefully I won't become one. scream (Like those people that just keep getting buff and get the roid rage with out steroids lol)

Try doing thirty reps per set in sets of five. You can also work your core daily too, which will help make it more tone. I can't guarantee that the iron bug won't bite you. That's all up to you if you feel you want to get bigger. But steroids do more than just shrink your berries. It also swells up, I may be wrong, your intestines making your six pack jut out like if you do core exercises with weights. And this goes for most people. The more your shape your body into what you want the more your confidence will increase, and in turn and boost an ego and give arrogance (its happened to me, I've acted in ways I'm ashamed of).

I'll try that sit up routine. See I want to be muscular but not huge. Enough to where it looks good, but not like a professional body builder. I don't plan on taking steroids, but that's the first thing I think of when I hear meat heads. I hate people that take 'roids. Yeah it can cause people to become arrogant. Hopefully I won't get that way.

I still ask for a picture of him when he was at his biggest. stare He keeps forgetting to find it... Arrogance just happens. More and more of your friends and family compliment you and you get that 'proud of what you have achieved' feeling and that sometimes sticks and you get...well cocky! rofl

Nothing wrong with feeling a little good about yourself and admiring what you see in the mirror. ^_^ I wish I could say I've done that at some point, lol.

I agree that there's no problem with that but some people take it too far.
