 *What do you look for in a guild?*
Pretty much, why are you here? What do you really look for in a guild? What would you like to see here, that isn't here already? If you could change something that's here, what would it be and how would you change it? I'm always open to suggestions, and would love to hear your opinions!

I'd love a more one click way through all the tank lists. Right now going back and forth from the subforum is eating my soul.
Also a few discussion boards wouldn't hurt. Just to keep the guild active beyond just tank grabbing.

Remember, I'm the only one putting this together at this point, so please bear with me. This is why I'm asking for suggestions. smile Umm, I also understand your point with the "one click" way through the tank lists. I doubt I'm not the only one that feels this way, but I've always felt kind of slighted when I see 2 or 3 tanks glowing with a limited amount of time left, and I pass up a full airshark tank because the one I chose had 2 clutches and a jellyfish. I've been really thinking of adding a "pot luck" kind of section. With all the tanks in it all jumbled up. So you still get to grab all the glowing tanks, but which ones you get to grab depend on how much time you have to work with on the glows, and your luck in choice. All in all, I know most people specifically look for high-return tanks, and play the baby tanks when there's time in between. I just feel like the people that spend close to a million gold on their full high-end tank deserve to have their own section, so they're guaranteed those plays. I don't have one, but I'd prefer it that way if I did. <3 But that "Pot Luck" section has been on my mind for a couple days now. Thanks for your thoughts!! Perhaps a games one, and a music one? They tend to be fairly popular in general. Even a general one, if the main forum doesn't get used for such things.
I do prefer the less jumbled way it is now, don't get me wrong on that~ I just mean, perhaps a link to the first page of the dolphin mix on the last page of the dolphin tanks and so on, rather than having to go back to the tank directory to switch. Especially with the smaller sections as they are now, having to click six different links to check ten tanks (because they're in three different sections) in a bit disparaging.
Though the idea for a section with both starter tanks and high-end ones would definitely encourage more starter tank plays.

Kk, I'll get on adding another couple sub-forums, but they do cost me gold. Not more than a little booty grab can't replace, but still. So I haven't been going crazy with adding a ton of them. So definately a "general chat", and probably a "music" and "gaming" one. As far as adding links from one section to the next goes, I'd love to do that, and have already thought of doing it, but it seems there's no way to stop those links from opening in a new window. And unless you want to bog down your browser with a bunch of tabs or windows, or be closing a number of them... Idk, it just seems to be annoying. I figure browsing back and forth is a little tedious, but it's all in the same window. Now on the stalker thread, it was relatively easy to navigate since all the tanks were on subsequent pages of a single thread. HOWEVER, every time I had to add that one extra tank, I was forced to move entire sections to new pages to make room. So, for instance if I had 15 tanks on page 2, I had to move everything on page 3 to 7 over to pages 4-8, just to make room for that extra tank that had to go on page 3... You have no idea how annoying that is when you're adding 5 or more tanks a day and each page only holds up to 15 tanks, including signatures. Now once there's more tanks, because I still plan on recruiting every tank I play, (so can you, I just haven't had the time lately to grab many tanks since I've been putting so much time into getting this off the ground), but once there's more tanks, it'll seem less tedious to navigate back and forth. Right now it's organized, but there's only 70 tanks, so it seems like it's spread a little thin. It'll get better, I promise. Plus, I'll be on that "pot luck" thread soon, so you can more quickly just breeze through the lists. Tomorrow's my grandfather's 80th birthday party, so I won't be on here between 4 up to probably 10 or 11ish. Biiiiig surprise party! And he has no idea!

Make the tank glow boards a lot easier to get to. Link them on the first page or something, so we don't have to click through the forums and the subforums to get to them.
Maybe have featured tanks on the home page too? You could have a raffle type contest for them, or chose them at random or something.

I'm not sure what you mean by "featured tanks".
As far as making the Tank Directory easier to get to, it's only one more click to reach the sub-forum, and it's a lot nicer to have it the way it is, than having the main forum all cluttered. The main forum will only be used for important events and announcements.
I appreciate the input, but I don't really think all the work it'd take to make the changes, or maintain a "featured tank" thread, would be worth it.
I do still plan on somehow consolidating the Tank Directory, and making it easier to browse from section to section, but it's still a lot of work, and I just need to find a little more motivation to do it. I've been a bit busy lately and hardly been booty grabbing as it is. All work and no play makes Dark hate gaia. Lol

Don't put it on the main forum, but on the main page, "Guild Home". What you get when you click on the guild. If it's a booty grab guild, it shouldn't take me any work to get to the booty grabbing. And, it doesn't take much work to copy and paste a link. Something like this, but you don't even need to make the images, just put text.

First, I get your point, but that's something so trivial and honestly just one more thing I have to remember to do every day. Plus, I don't see why anyone would spend very much time on the home page to begin with, and the probability of actually catching that person's glow on the rare occasion you stop by the home page is rare to say the least. I understand it's a nice notion, but it really doesn't serve any practical purpose.
Second, it's ONE MORE CLICK to get to the tank directory. If I should be copying and pasting a link every day to feature a tank, I think you could press your mouse button just one more time. I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but it's the truth. There's no work required to reach the directory, but I will admit that navigating the sections right now is a little tedious, which I do plan on changing around sometime soon. Plus, who goes to the home page anyway? I don't know about anyone else, but I always go directly to the forums from the guild list.
Third, it may be primarily a booty grab guild, but hopefully once it grows a bit more, so will it's uses. I only made this because my stalker thread was growing way too fast and took way too much work to add a tank once a page was full, seeing as how I'd have to move entire sections over to other pages to make room for that 16th tank...

Also, taking five minutes (one time) to add some convenience seems trivially simple to me, not trivially useless, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, that's all.

The general chat sub-forum would probably be the best place for it at the moment. The chat forums aren't getting the traffic I expected they might, so adding another one just seems silly. I might add one at a later date, but for now I don't think it'd get the traffic it'd deserve. heart
