*Leaving a note here to say that there's a pretty good chance I'll be making little moderater posts throughout. Nothing major. Though, Mr. Poncho might make an appearance. Unless his company is very much not wanted. Otherwise, have fun, guys. <333 _______
On the west side of Destiny Lake, bordered by cliffs, there is a secluded section of beach. It is a pretty little cove, to which Destiny City's teenagers have flocked for generations. It's the sort of place drunken legends are made of, where boys and girls can revel in their youth unopposed by the long arm of the law and the controlling wills of their parents. Everybody whose anybody knows how to get there. If the journey is knew or unfamiliar to you, there's a pretty good chance you know someone whose been there before. When the tide is high it is impossible to get to, because it ceases to exist outside of the water. But when the tide is low? It's party time. If you aren't lucky enough to own some sort of boat, the cove is only accessible by foot. An old path, worn smooth from hundreds upon hundreds of footfalls, winds through the giant rocks from the top of the cliffs to the beach below. The sand is littered with insignificant stones and small twigs, but not unbearable to stand in without shoes. Once upon a time somebody erected a pair of wooden logs. The precise nature of their original purpose has been misplaced. In recent years, a few of the oldest kids have taken to suspending a volleyball net between them. The distance is a little short, and the net sags in the middle, but nobody particularly cares. During the day, when the sun is high in the sky and the air is hot, water games and (probably illegal) consumption of alcohol are standard fair. In the later hours, when the sun has gone to sleep and the moon comes out to play, there's always some crazy fool with a lighter who manages to get a campfire going. Some party-goers gather round to keep warm while others might disappear into the infamously (and totally creatively) named Kissing Cave.

Clubs were fantastic. Bars were cool. But in Jack's not so humble experience, nothing topped a Cliff Party.
There was something magical about sipping on a cold beer with the heat of the sun's rays beating against his back. Something inexplicably peaceful about sitting by the fire, humming along while Mr. Poncho (a middle-aged man with a long beard who had, apparently, never been able to let go of his youth) strummed songs by The Beach Boys on his string guitar.
Once, after losing a bet to BJ, Jack had actually had to speak with Mr. Poncho. This was a big deal, because nobody liked to talk to Mr. Poncho if they could help it. Even the largest, toughest boys were too intimidated by the magnificence of his moustache and that rainbow poncho to remove him bodily from the beach. If engaging in conversation with Mr. Poncho was taboo, touching him was outright unspeakable.
"Hello, Mr…?"
"My name is Greg," said Mr. Poncho, picking a little melody with his chapped fingers.
"Right," Jack had cleared his throat, and took up as little room on his side of the log as possible, "Greg."
"…Aruba, Jamaica ooo I wanna take ya…"
"Do you have a job?"
"…Bermuda, Bahama come on pretty mama…."
Jack was understandably perturbed by this. Because he was not a pretty mama, and he was most certainly not coming on. He'd shot a concerned glance back over his shoulder at his friends, who egged him on with compassionless snickers.
Jack steeled himself, took a deep breath, and then blurted out, "Don't you think you're a little old to be coming here?"
It sounded just as rude as you probably think it did.
Mr. Poncho was in the middle of another resounding chorus. For a moment, it seemed as though he would not answer Jack at all. He waited for the last string of his guitar to stop quivering, gestured towards the whole of the cove with one great sweep of his arm, and then attempted to fix Jack with his lazy eye. It didn't go over well.
"Last time I checked, nobody ******** owns this place."
Poor Jack had had no choice but to concede. And then he'd skittered back to his buddies at though Mr. Poncho had tried to light his pants on fire.
Presently, there was (unfortunately) no sign of Mr. Poncho. There also wasn't a flicker of a flame in the fire pit. The sun sat high in the sky, and the water was warm. Somebody had the foresight to bring a volleyball net. It was hung loosely, as per tradition. A scuff-marked volleyball rested in the sand beside one of the posts.
Jack was working on his tan, and nursing a beer at the same time. When it came to multi-tasking, he was a champion.
Countless, nameless teenagers (and young adults) milled about the cove. Ladies embraced. Bros bumped fists. Some drunken moron was chatting up a tree.
And there wasn't a single senshi in sight.
It was going to be a good day. Jack could feel it in his bones.

It was Aitana's first cliff party. Her very first big highschool party of forbidden goods. Sure there had been the weekend bingefest that was Mardi Gras weekend.. but that had been a much older crowd and had been more about eating and drinking and flashing boobs then anything else. She had heard that THIS was what fun was. And this was what teenaged american's did for their summer fun. So there was no way the Brazilian was going to miss out on experiencing it.
To hell with the fact that she was 16 and probably shouldn't have been hanging out in such a notorious place.
She wore a bathing suit with a simple t shirt over it, tied off at the waist and some simple flip flops that would probably be lost throughout the day's festivities.
When she finally arrived she was surprised to see so many people, her eyes dancing around the slowly filling beach. And there was double delight when she spotted the lazily strung volleyball net. Later on she'd totally have to show some people Meadowview's 'star' athlete at work. Or maybe not. She probably wanted to keep the whole Meadowview thing on the down low. Else she might be shoed off for being so young and miss out on all the fun!

Any reason was good enough to escape St-Mags. Any reason, through this one at least was a fun one.
Even if it meant drunks. Ergh. Whatever, Darryl would knock em if one tried to drunkenly hit on her or something.
It had been a long trip, but there she finally was. Her t-shirt had enough holes so that one could clearly see he one-piece bathing suit behind, and her jeans were, as always, lovingly beaten up. Her sandals, surprisingly enough, looked new. New on Darryl standards, that is.
No fire yet, hm ? The bag of marshmallows hidden in her backpack wasn't sure if it liked the sound of that. She's had enough money to buy the stuff to make smores, Lots of stuff to make smores, because it was impossible to have anyone making smores without everyone else in a mile radius wanting smores. And damn ******** right she was gonna get her smores.

Lily wasn't one for breaking the rules, so she wouldn't be drinking, but her sister said this was one of the most fun summer parties for teens and that she really ought to go. Rose insisted on driving her to eliminate the chance Lily would try to leave early, but Lily thought her sister should have more faith in her. It was not as if she did not like parties, she most certainly wasn't going to leave early, really she got to swim, dance and goof off for a day.
Lily grinned as she looked around seeing so many others all in swim suits, flip flops and sandals just as she was. Wearing a bikini and skirt, carrying a radio with her ipod attached. She moved forward looking for a good place to lay out a towel and set down the radio.

Devi was excited. She had been hoping to see Jack again, and her invitation via text message appeared to her as an opportunity for that. Of course, it wasn't an invitation just for her, but she arrived to the cliff party with that expectation. She didn't think he'd refer to her as a "********" in the text message if it were meant to be personal or suggestive.
She arrived to the party dressed more modestly than many of the other girls who showed up - most of them scantily clad in bikinis - while Devi opted with a solid white tank top and jean cutoffs. She had swimwear on, underneath, just in case. She brought a bottle of wine with her, one of the last remaining bottles from the wine cabinet in her suite at Fallon's home, and had already removed the cork so it was ready for drinking. She looked around the area, scouting for Jack, but wasn't able to spot him in the large and piling crowd.

Skye was there, as if she would miss a party thrown by Jack. She had spent possibly too long deciding what to wear but eventually decided on a bikini and some really short denim shorts. She had arrived to find a lot of people here which she wasn't sure she liked too much but then a party without people would be rather boring.
She pushed her way through the people till she found Jack lazing about with a beer and she couldn't help but laugh at him.
"So a party hmm?" She smirked and sat down next to him. She had her own bottle of beer in her hands - she was one to drink pretty much anything and so she took a swig or two.
"You chose a good place Jack." She laid back and looked up at the sky, occasionally swigging her beer. After all a part wasn't a party without alcohol!

Jack's favourite thing about Cliff Parties were, by far, all of the bikinis. He was unsubtle in his appraisal of all the figures that passed him by; ogling the ladies, comparing himself to the men. An especially buff hunk of beefcake reminded Jack that he really ought to spend more time in the gym, and less time… letting everybody else fight senshi. While he was by no means chunky or out of shape, parts of him were soft.
Embarrassingly so.
He was in the middle of sucking in his stomach, and posing artfully on the sand to enhance his best features when Skye settled down beside him.
"I didn't choose this place," Jack's smile was kind. He scooted close, and kissed Skye on the cheek. This was his hello. "People have been coming to Cliff Parties for years. Is this your first time out here?"
It wouldn't have surprised him. If only because Jack was sure he would have remembered seeing her there before.
He relaxed back on the sand, sipped his beer, and caught sight of Devi in the crowd. Jack smiled, and waved to her.
This was Vanessa's first Cliff Party. Growing up, for her, there'd never been much time or call for partying. Unless chilling behind the bushes outside her apartment with Hairy Pete, and occasionally taking swigs of his whiskey counted. She'd certainly enjoyed herself, but that was not the same as this.
There were teenagers everywhere. Some faces she recognized from school. Others from working at Big Willy's record store. Most of them, however, were unfamiliar to her. It surprised Vanessa, who took much pride in being friendly.
"I can't believe you've never been here before," murmured the girl who stood beside her. She was a waitress at the same restaurant where Vanessa worked, and pint-sized, but forever graceful. Vanessa envied her for this. Her name was Claudia.
"I just… I was always so busy," Vanessa shrugged, and laughed. It was an easy sound. Much of the last few years of her life had been consumed (and overwhelmed) by Destiny City's supernatural underworld. As a metropolis, they had been through so much. It was remarkable, to her, that something as seemingly normal as something called a Cliff Party could exist at all. She hoped this never changed.
She opened her mouth and turned to ask Claudia something else, but whatever she was about to say died on the wind. Claudia was gone, twirling a lock of golden hair around her finger and working the crowd. Vanessa felt enlivened by her friend's confidence and the general atmosphere of the party. She wanted to get out there and meet people!
"Hey!"
Lily stood only a couple of feet to her left. Vanessa smiled at the other redhead, and gestured at herself with her thumb. "I think I know you! Did you go to Meadowview?"

Fiona hadn't gotten the invite straight from Jack, actually if she had known he had been involved or that he had been the brains behind this operation then she probably wouldn't have shown up. Too many, er, awkward meetings between them for her liking and as much fun as a cliff party sounded (god she hadn't been to one in years, Peter stopped dragging her along with him.), she wasn't one who liked to continue to ruffle the feathers of an already irritated bird. But, she had gotten the forwarded message from another friend and had happily made her way down.
She had been overly stressed lately, due to the mixture of a civilian and superhero life. She couldn't understand how the movies, tv shows and comicbooks made things seem so easy, so simple sometimes when she was constantly running back and forth struggling to keep up with the demands of both. So the idea of a fun, relaxing party with (hopefully) no powered party crashers, was definitely appealing.
She had taken a good few hours prepping and preparing for the party, opting for a light blue tank top and a pair of dark blue jean short shorts. Her hair was pulled back, off her shoulders into a high ponytail with a few pieces loose framing her face. Her outfit showed enough, but also left enough to the imagination.
Still, as she arrived at the party she tugged on the hem of her shirt wondering if she looked good. Her encounter with Kam had left her self-conscious.

Lily turned at the call to her looking to the short haired red head who was gesturing to herself. She came over leaving her radio on her blanket and smiled. "Yes I did go to Meadowview. I just graduated this past June. I'm sorry, but I do not really recognize you. What is your name?"
She didn't really recognize the girl, not from school, but that wasn't going to stop her from having a chat. Lily loved meeting new friends and what better way than to mingle at a party. She grinned waiting for the girl's name hoping that maybe it would jog her memory.

Finn was perfectly aware he was a bit older than most of the high schoolers hanging out at the cliff today, but it didn't stop him from jogging down the path in nothing but swim trunks and a pair of Tevas, backpack bouncing against his back the whole way from the trailhead to the beach.
His backpack was full of beers bought with a fake ID from an incredulous liquor store clerk on Spring Street, kept cold with Dora the Explorer ice packs. Finn bounded over to the fire pit and set it down. "What?" he asked. "No one's started this yet?"
It wasn't a cliff party without a bonfire. Anyone could tell you that! Finn had been to enough - well, he'd snuck into his first one when he was fourteen, and that was that - to know where there was extra firewood, and he was enough of a camping geek to carry a lighter everywhere.
"YOU!" he called, lobbing a finger at Fiona. She looked familiar, but he couldn't remember her name. "Ginger! There's firewood stacked up over by the path. Get me some and I'll give you a beer, yeah?"
Finn unzipped his bag and showed her the Coronas chilling inside. Hopefully that would be enough incentive. "Now the party don't start 'till I walk in," he sang cheerfully to himself as he cleared away last week's ashes to make room for new kindling.

Devi nearly skipped with excitement as she made her way over to Jack, carrying the bottle of wine with her. Who was that redheaded chick he was with? She stopped herself from letting her mind race, creating possibilities about their relationship. They had only gone out together once, so it didn't really matter who he was with, even if she had a tiny rebound crush on the boy.
"Party is having a nice turnout," she said when she finally made her way to them and sat down beside Jack, on the opposite side of the other girl. She offered out the bottle of wine to them both, and gave a friendly look to the other girl. "Hi, I'm Devi. And you are?"

Skye smiled as Jack kissed her on the cheek but he seemed slightly uninterested and it irked her a little. It was a party though and they weren't on their own - they could be later though.
"No I haven't, probably been too busy to come down here though shall be here a little more often now." After all she worked where people were dancing. It was the best place to steal ones energy but she wasn't working today.
As Jack waved to another girl Skye raised her eyebrows but lowered them again before the girl reached them. She watched as Devi came over and shook her head at the offer of wine, she had her beer in her hand still.
"I'm Skye, it's nice to meet you. You a friend of Jacks?" She thought she would ask - get everything out nice and open. After all she knew what Jack was like and they weren't in a relationship as such... they just spend a lot of time together and sleeping with each other. Either way the thoughts going through Skye's head made her chest ache a little. She refused to be in a relationship but she still wanted Jack to herself.

Griff had, at least for a moment, lost her "Finn" when he went jogging on ahead. The teen lurked dubiously outside the liquor store in her shades while he did his dirty and illegal business, after bidding that he get her something cheap that would also get her drunk. He'd gotten the job done. Of course he'd also gotten some crap beer. When he showed her, she had just shaken her head. Shoulda gotten the Pabst, she'd said.
The Shlip student wore a loose cream t-shirt and homemade cutoff jorts with a bikini underneath. Also featured were a beat up pair of Toms that had seen better days and a canteen slung over her shoulder. At the moment it was harboring some juice to be later mixed with whatever Finn had found for her. As they got closer to the Cliff and it's rad party, he'd bolted on ahead, overly excited, she assumed.
She took her time and meandered down the path and arrived just in time to hear him sing some Ke$ha lyrics. Why had it taken her so long to realize he was playing for the other team? She sighed and left her sunglasses on as she walked up behind him. "Sometimes I'm ashamed to be your friend." What a fat lie and they both knew it.

Finn turned to her and dramatically pantomimed being stabbed in the heart. "Oh!" he cried, tumbling backwards into the sand. "You've wounded me, Griff!" Doubtlessly, she'd taken offense at his choice of egocentric lyrics - Finn was a little ashamed to be his friend right now, too, but if the Ke$ha song fit, you wore it.
Fiona looked no closer to getting him firewood than she had before he'd so ungracefully commanded her to do so, which was probably his own fault for being a boor. Finn made a face, hopped to his feet, and dusted himself off. "Well," he said, leveling his gaze at Griff. "This bonfire is not going to light itself."
He picked his backpack up and hefted it back over his shoulder - no good just leaving it out for the taking before the party had even gotten kicked off, right? "Kindling, Griff!" he exclaimed, half-dragging her as he danced towards the pile of firewood. "Kindling and Tinder and big honking logs! Let's send smoke signals to the ISS!"
It was kind of a lofty ambition. There was already some question of whether or not Finn had already started drinking, although bottled enthusiasm had a similar effect. The short boy scooped up an armful of logs and sticks and practically bounced back towards the firepit. "Let's be bonfire gods!" he cried to his friend. "Naked heathens dancing on the moor by firelight! Well, maybe not that but you get the idea-"
Finn was really all for naked heathen dancing. Really.
He dropped his firewood by the pit and started making a little teepee of tinder. "Griff, get the lighter from my bag," he said, licking his lips in concentration. "This party is about to start for real."
