User ImageIshekhesi had been asked to show another new member around the pridal lands. He wasn't quite sure why he always ended up being the one to do this, as he had a damaged voice and moved slowly, partly from exhaustion and partly from joints that suffered the wear of hauling the great shrine stones around, but maybe it was because he didn't overwhelm the newcomers with chatter.
According to what Salma had told him, the lioness he was waiting for would be another keeper - the keeper of Flora. He had a few shrine sights to show her, but wanted her input first. After he had knew what kind of shrine she wanted, he could show her a few sites that might work for her shrine.

User ImageThe soft smell of fresh grass lingered in the air as Sade patiently remained seated in the shade of an older tree. She was told that there was someone to meet her about helping her build a shrine yet who that feline would be Sade had no idea not that her face showed any concern. It was rare for anything to extremely bother the lioness and even more rare for any strong emotion to fill her face other than the passing smile.

Sade had no idea what she wanted in a shrine it wasn't that she didn't have any care about what it should appear it was that she was more or less she was content on not creating a hassle for everyone. As far as she was concerned as long as the gods where pleased and the shrine was for them was presented in a pleasing manner her opinions did not matter. It was for them not for her and what she liked and disliked was not a factor and that included in being picky
over a spot.

"You must be Sade, our new member. I am Ishekhesi, shifter and apparently the pride's greeter. I'm going to try and help you find a spot for your shrine that will please the gods. You want to be the Keeper of the Shrine of Vegetation, yes?"

Ishekhesi ran through the spots that would be good for this Shrine in his head - there was a grove of fruit trees, that might be good, or maybe just a smooth flat portion of grass. There was a smallish meadow near the stream that might work; it was near a rocky area that was to be used as memorials, but it should be ok. The scrubby area might serve, although it would be difficult to move the rocks there. He was sure there would be many places that would work, but before the shrine was started, they had to find a good spot for it, and Esimtoti would have to look at the ground and the route.

"We can begin as soon as you are ready."

Sade gave the greeter a soft smile and nod, "yes I am the new Keeper of the Shrine of Vegetation it is a pleasure to meet you Ishekhesi." She gave no inclination of having a concern over his damaged voice or even a hint of disdain wrinkling on her nose it was almost as if she didn't notice it. Though if asked for her opinion she actually liked it in some ways.

"Hmmmmm," a hummed note escaped from Sade's lips before she nodded, "I am ready though I am truly sorry to say that I don't have a particular place in mind. I am looking for something well…. full of vegetation for the most part with a little bit of water nearby to keep the plants healthy I do not want them to die from lack of care." Honestly she felt a little awkward demanding from the shifter anything fearing for what she said would just make things more of a burden to him.

"Thank you Ishekhesi for helping me with this task," she replied getting up on her paws to follow him to any site that he
knew of.

"If you'd like to follow me, I can show you around some of the sites. Since you wanted water, I'll take you to the meadow first. It's across the stream, this way."

The meadow Ishekhesi spoke of was not far off - they had to leave the den area, go down the hill, and cross the stream at the stony ford made by boulders and rocks. Up the bank, and there was the meadow, lined with more boulders on one side, with a few trees near to the stream. On the far side, the ground went uphill again. The meadow itself was bare except for grasses and some bushes near the edges.

"You can do what you like with the shrine, plant more or dig a trough so the water comes in, but this is one of the sites. Esimtoti believes that carvers could use some of the rocks already in the meadow as part of the shrine, if you chose this spot."

Sade said nothing at first glancing at the stream and meadow that Ishekhesi had taken her to. It was rather bare but in her mind it meant larger opportunities to arrange even more vegetation and growth into the area to liven it up from it's somber state. It would be a bit of a challenge but the lioness had little doubt that such trials were necessary as a keeper and besides it meant she could bring it as many flowers to decorate the meadow as she felt content that it was colorful enough. Just the thought of the soft scents of blooming flowers sent a soft smile breaking out across her muzzle, "oh… too bad spring has already past."

Nodding she turned her attention back to him, "this is rather promising and I rather like it I hope you don't mind if I refuse in seeing the others currently and as well I do not wish to take up too much of your time I am sure you are busy. It maybe a bit of a hasty decision but I don't want something good to pass me by. A trough for the water would be an excellent idea, oh…. and" Sade stated to mumble to herself as she looked at the various rocks her mind racing around with various landscaping ideas to do with such a wide area. It was a bad habit to have, talking to herself she was told it made her appear a bit nutty.

Ishekhesi shook his head in protest at her apologies. "Keepers have full control over their shrine except the actual shrine stones themselves, which are up to the shifters and the carvers. You can do anything that you think needs doing to your shrine area. I suggest recruiting cubs and other young if you need help doing the work; it is usually pretty easy to trick them into helping, especially around the water. But is there anything you need my help with for now?"

Ishekhesi looked around the meadow. He preferred the grove, but he was a simple shifter. These kinds of things were beyond him.

Sade shook her head, “no no I think you have done enough Ishekhesi thank you for your help and your time hrrrmm….” The green lioness remained where she stood sitting down on her hind legs her front paw tapping against the ground. Her head was wheeling in various plants names that she would like to bring to the meadow that she seemed to be lost in her thoughts and unaware if Ishekhesi remaining presences. Sade was sure to keep in mind the suggestion of getting the cubs to help as soon as she got all of the ideas in her head from swirling around into a definite plan.

“Oh…. Is there anywhere else I should go I mean to visit or look…. I haven’t quite gotten use to everything around?” Maybe wherever he showed her would have various plants she could transplant for the time being.

"Well, no where is off limits to anyone except private dens, shrines that are being constructed, and occasionally a shrine if the keeper is doing some work that requires isolation. But I can show you the other shrines, the fruit trees, the area the carvers use to shape the stone, the memorial area, the place cubs play, the eating area, anywhere you really want to see. Would you like to start in the orchards?"

"That would be wonderful Ishekhesi," she gave a nod at the idea of visiting the orchards and where the cubs played. Sade would have to keep that place in mind when she needed help from them later however the idea of seeing leafy like trees was far too appetizing to miss. She wondered if anyone had set up a shrine among them or if it was an area open for anyone to visit as well she was curious what other shrines were scattered about the pridelands. There was also the question if they got a lot of visitors or not however she could ask him or others later he had already done a lot for and she felt that all things would come in due time.

"The grove is closest, just over that rise, and then we can loop around so you can see everything else. Please ask any questions you have; it's better to know then to be confused."

Big as he was, Ishekhesi took the rise in the ground in one leap and crossed an open area before he hit the grove. It was not far from the part of the stream that flowed into the waterfall, where the water shrine was. He supposed there must be some underground water to support this many trees.
