This is a Private Roleplay between Theofratus(Ewagan) and Rajih(Nyxtsuki Moon).
PostPosted: Sun Jul 17, 2011 7:11 pm

After his escape from his best friend, Rajih had been left battered and confused as to who he was now and what was to become of him. The academy had provided a safe haven for him, a home away from his home and a new beginning. And yet even so, He could tell it would be different and the same as his past. He was a Majin after all, a creature that fed on the magicks of humans to survive, his gentle touch was now one that could suck the very power out of a witch, engorging his own for awhile.

The Academy had been clear when they accepted him, even as a Majin. If he wanted, he could pursue the paths of alternate and even better lifestyles, they made no judgements and would harness his magic to grow and grow.

As he quietly mused to himself, his lips pursued as he looked around the academy. It wasn't dreary, depressing or downright annihilating. Flowers bloomed in arrays of colors, animals, those of familiars and even possibly Monoke's walked freely around as if they owned the place. Students chattered around him as he took in his surroundings. His majin senses could tell who was a witch and who wasn't, a sixth instinct for his kind to look for magic to siphon. Overloaded with all the scents of different witches, reapers and even his own Majin kind, He walked forward, head held high as he attempted to find his way to his new dorm. In his attempt of fake bravado, he didn't notice a taller and more distinguished witch walk past him. He had navy to midnight blue hair and electric blue piercing eyes.

Magic.

It oozed off the boy in thick amounts, tapping the Majin's hunger which sent a small growl through Rajih. "Hey!" he called out to the boy he had bumped, curious about him.

Why was he in the Academy again? Right. Looking for the library to reference from a book he needed. Which he could only find here. But still. A twinge of nolstalgia hit him as he walked towards the library. Deciding that a walk would do him good, Theo opted to go around the dorms and take the long way to the library rather than the shorter, more direct route through the maze of corridors.

Lost in thought, he didn't see the dark-haired boy coming his way until they had collided with one another. Shrugging the incident off, Theo continued on his way. His head spun around when he heard someone calling him, his eyes settling on the boy he had bumped into earlier.

He was.. strange. Greenish-teal coloured eyes and hair of the same colour. But it wasn't the messy hair or the colour of the boy's eyes that made him uneasy. It was the aura, the feel of him. Something about him seemed just a little off. Electric blue locked with those sea-green eyes in a piercing stare. "Yes?" Theo asked, his tone a little brusque. He kept his eye on the witchling, his guard up.

A twinge in his gut put him on high alert, his sense open to any possible attack. While this may have been the Makai Royal Academy, that didn't mean there were absolutely no witch eaters around. It never hurt to be cautious.

"Ah well...." Now what did he do? He had the witch's attention and even if he did, the boy's eyes were staring at him with the same wariness that most witches had around Rajih. It's as if they instinctually knew he was a Majin, like Rajih knew they we're powerful witches. Predator and Prey.

Though that was for another day, Rajih was more curious about the type of boy. Even with his brusque tone, Rajih sensed an opening and smiled at the boy, closing his eyes that gave his face an almost kitsune trouble making face.

"Nothing really, I thought I sensed some seriously powerful magic in you but it looks like your just another witch. You reminded me of someone for a minute." Rajih circled the boy with curiosity, he had the same magic feel that Roger had and while he it called for the majin in him to eat, he stamped down on the urge. He'd rather risk the hungriness then to anger a witch who was a more powerful stage. "My name's Rajih, I'm kinda of new around here and haven't ran into many students, as that is, I'm kinda of lost as well. Considering your a former student and the first I have run into, mind showing me around? I just need to find the dorms and some of the classrooms....possibly the library if you can?" Rajih pursued his lips, "Unless that is, of course, that you are far busier with something else." He didn't know why his tone and smile seemed to be so condescending but well, it must've been the instant wariness he had seen in the other boy's eyes.

He was feeling a little uneasy, but perhaps, just maybe... Theo felt like he was being stalked, the way the witchling circled around him, eyes never leaving his. But Theo stonily refused to back away. As the boy introduced himself as Rajih and explained his purpose here, Theo considered his options.

While now he was still rather safe, he supposed it waould be better for him to take the new kid around that to let him happen upon an unsuspecting student. Theo stared at him, before nodding, just a little. He didn't like how condescending the boy was, but he agreed nonetheless.

"I'll show you around. I guess it can't hurt.." His eyes narrowed as he took in Rajih one more time and deemed him relatively safe. "My name's Theofratus, but most people call me Theo." He didn't offer his hand to shake, not sure he trusted the boy enough to do so. "Clearly, you're at the dorms now and I'm on my way to the library, so I'll point things out as we go." His tone brooked no arguments, as did his brisk manner.

Rajih made him uneasy just by being there. Theo wasn't sure how things would play out in the future, but for now, he would keep a wary eye on the teenager.

Rajih took a deep breath, He wasn't helping the situation of being around the boy with his condescending tones nor his abrasive attitude. Instead he opted for a more genuine smile and fell in step with the Witch. He had made progress, knowing the other's name was a power all in itself.

Though had he known that Theo was only going with him to protect other students, Rajih would've punched him in the face, siphon some magic in rage and ran away. If he had known, he would've been terrified that the boy would announce him to everyone else. But Theo didn't know what he was for sure and Rajih was less likely to attack another student unless his hunger wasn't sated.

"That's very nice of you then." He smiled again, this time turning on his charm instead of automatically going into abrasive mode. Even when Theo pointed out the obvious, Rajih kept the placid smile in place. "Nice to meet you as well Theo, your the first witch i've met before." Roger didn't count as he was still learning into his magic. "Oh well I got lucky didn't I snagging you for a tour." He cocked his head as he trailed along the boy. "How long did it take for you to become a witch?"

Theo's lips curved into a less than sincere smile as he walked along the corridors he knew so well. Perhaps if he got to know Rajih better he wouldn't feel so apprehensive about him. Hopefully so. Theo didn't quite like him, but he couldn't say he hated Rajih on sight. He just made Theo feel cautious and uneasy.

"Here's the gardens." Theo pointed out as they traversed the school grounds. "Herbology classes are usually in the greenhouses over there." He gestured in the general direction of the glass buildings. "And I'm ot sure about lucky. People complain I don't wait while they want to look around." Theo commented as he continued on at a fairly brisk pace. He knew he was impatient and never really liked waiting. It was such a pain, wasting his precious time while he waited.

"I spent about.." Theo paused as he counted the months. "..a year in here before graduating?" Theo shrugged his shoulders. "Give or take a month or so. I preferred spending time out on the training grounds, which are there-" Theo pointed them out. "-as opposed to sitting in the classroom taking notes." His lips tightened in a line. Note taking was a pain, and a waste of time, in Theo's opinion. Putting what he knew into practice was more important that knowing how to tend to certain herbs.

If Rajih could sigh without setting of the witch, he would've. This guy's personality was becoming all to clear to Rajih and they had only been talking for a few minutes. Little things like body language and eyes help add some concrete evidence for where Rajih was going to. Theo was a "Hot" personality. Easy to anger, abrasive, actions before thoughts. Rajih snickered as he thought of how easy it must be too piss off the boy. In truth, Rajih while a very sincere and nice guy, did tend to find at least one person to rub the wrong way. It was after all, a balance in the scales.

"Gardens, herbology. Hey wait...."
Rajih had to run to keep up as Theo just pointed stuff out, he huffed a breath at the other boy, crossing his arms and giving a pointed glare before mumbling to himself. "I can see why they complain." Rajih said them so quietly and under his breath that he was sure that the witch wouldn't hear him. He would just count it lucky to have at least a person show him where everything was, even if it was at the pace that matched a cheetah.

When Theo paused, stopping in their walk, Rajih took a minute to survey the surrounding and memorize where he had traveled from and where he was at now. Though the small break didn't last long as Theo answered his question and they kept moving, "Ah, you must've wanted to learn some really intense magics!" Rajih joked, a year was a normal amount of time really, some took even longer, some took shorter. It all depended on the skill and dedication, coupled with the status of prodigies or lazy asses that determined just how quick witches graduated. His head swiveled to the training grounds and brought a sneer to his face, "A more physical witch you must be then? I hear the more book worms come up with some elegant magic then those who prefer the rough dirty work of training outside." Rajih shrugged, he was comfortable in either situation and only practiced magic when he had enough to practice it with. "But then again, I haven't seen you do magic, or compared it to any of the others witches that still might haunt around here."

Considering the pace Theo was going at, one might have thought he was in a rush or something. He’d never been one to be idle and do nothing. He always had something to do, someone to meet up with or another. Even now, he was giving Rajih as much of a tour as he could be inclined to. He wasn’t overly concerned that Rajih seemed to be struggling to keep up with him. The other boy seemed to rub off him in the wrong way, for some reason. The half-smile irritated Theo, as the condescending tone his voice took on whenever he deigned to speak.

Theo paused momentarily to allow Rajih to catch up with him then continued at the same pace as before. “I told you I didn’t like waiting.” Was his only comment as Rajih drew parallel to him once again. “Anyways, that’s the main building, where most of the classes are.” Theo pointed out the large building that dominated a good part of the left side of his field of vision. “Library’s in there as well, which is where we’re heading.” Pointing out a tiny building at the edge of the training grounds Theo nodded at it. “That’s the Infirmary. Or well, a small emergency one.” Theo amended. “The main Infirmary is up in the main building. No points for guessing why the infirmary’s at the edge of the training grounds.” Theo’s dry sense of humour made itself apparent.

The main building loomed up ahead of them, the stone walls towering high above them. The spires that made the building’s shape so distinctive rose elegantly into the sky above, reaching out for the unknown. They passed a few students, some heavily laden with books of every kind and some toying with their magic, trying to master it. Most of them were unsuccessful, the few who did succeed were practicing some rather basic magic. “As you can see from them-“ Theo nodded at the witchlings. “-you learn the basics before anything. You can’t conjure flames if you don’t understand how they are formed nor can you create an illusion if you cannot picture the scene clearly in your mind.” Theo stepped into the building, the air considerably cooler than outside. “I prefer offensive magic, some favour the defense. Either way, it takes a while to master your magic. They usually put you in a basic class then reassign you once they’ve determined your strength in magic.” Theo turned down the hallway, glancing at Rajih. “And yes, I was one who preferred training outside. Just because the magic is elegant doesn’t mean it’s strong. There is no point to beautiful magic if you cannot deliver the effect you want, unless your magic is that of making illusions. Anyways, the classrooms are here.” He nodded at either side of the hallway, which was lined with doors. “The teachers decorate their classrooms very differently. Don’t be too shocked if you find yourself curled up on a beanbag for a class and standing on your head for another.” A wry grin tugged at Theo’s lips. "The library's up ahead there." Theo pointed towards a set of double doors that were intricately carved with various incantations and symbols.

"There's quite a lot of books in there, and you can pretty much find anything you need for your studies or to supplement your nates there if you cared to look." Theo offered, pushing one of the doors open. It swung open quietly to reveal shelf upon shelf of books of various colours, sizes, age and subjects.

"Yeah I can tell that too." Rajih snorted when he was next to the boy and not running behind him like bait for a killer or something. Looking over to where Theo pointed, he squinted his eyes, bringing his hand to rest on his forehead to shield from the glare of the building and ahhhhed at it. "Nice, That'll be nice to get into there soon." He mumbled, excited for the thought of classes, regardless if they were with people or not. "Oh well, Looks like we'll be going there for me to check out anyways."

"An infirmary?" Rajih turned to stare at the Theo and chocked, had he just made a joke? It was so dry that Rajih just stared at him with a odd expression before a slight..."haha." and then silence again. This kid sure was a interesting one, Rajih thought amused of the blue witch.

As they passed through the training grounds and to the Main building he could see the small amount of students either waiting for their next classes or out for the day either studying or practicing their magic. He jumped when one of the girls clapped and from it came a loud sonic boom that had his ears ringing for standing so close. "Basic.....Man." Rajih continued to stare, almost awkwardly at the students whose magic flared up. It was frying bacon on the pan, you could smell the smell and your mouth instantly watered to eat it. He stood still as he eyed them before shaking his head to clear the lust haze and caught up to Theo, his eyes didn't meet the boys as he plastered the half smile on his face again. "That's good then, Won't have to be worried about being placed in a specific category would I." Rajih said with a snide tone as he followed Theo down the hall, "Interesting. Your actually pretty smart Theo. At least when it comes to the desired effect." He didn't mean for it to be another snide remark but he liked messing with the boy already.

"Interesting Teaches then." He looked into one of the rooms and was surprised to see the said beanbags, brightly colored with a neon like paint job before pulling back. Oh man, this place was going to keep him busy wasn't it. Even more so if he met more people like Theo.

"The Library!" Rajih was ecstatic as Theo opened the door and rushed pass him, libraries were his one weakness for sure. don't get it wrong though, He enjoyed outdoor activities just as much, but he loved to curl in a library with the smell of paper and dust reading something either in the past, or a romantic tale. The imagination could be awesome when enticed by a few simple words on the page. "This is where you were headed right? You were looking for a book right?" Rajih looked over his shoulder and sent a grin over to Theo, "Want help finding it? This Library is pretty decently sized." he joked as he walked the stacks, memorizing the order of the stacks.

Theo's lips began to curve in a smile at Rajih's enthusiasm before he checked himself. He settle for a wry grin as he watched Rajih stare in awe of everything they passed. Well, except the students. He looked like a starving man then. He hid it with a half smile, pretending that hadn't happened. Noting that, Theo filed that away mentally for another time. He snorted when Rajih said he was smart. "Hardly. Just competent. And if you're not smart enough they kick you out. Well, not kick. Just give you extra classes." His lips twitched a little as they continued. Rajih's snide tone grated on his nerves and he wanted so bad to wipe that smirk-smile off Rajih's face with a good punch or something but the would be time for it later. Not now, not in the school

"The teachers are more than just interesting." Theo warned, having been through some of the strangest classes ever in this school. "Some of them are downright weird, some are horrifically strict. A couple give you horrendous amounts of homework. There was a point I thought I was going to drown in all the paper." Theo smiled a little at the memory. He remembered setting fire to a book or two while he was at it and had detention for weeks to come after that. The teacher had not been pleased that he'd set his homework on fire, even if he did understand that Theo was something of a pyromaniac and hated his studies.

As the Library doors swung open, Rajih looked like a little kid on Christmas morning opening the greatest giift in his life, the one thing he'd wanted above all else. The smell of parchment and paper hit them as the door opened. He watched Rajih, the rature unfolding on his face like a blooming flower. His sheer excitement and joy was rather contagious and soon Theo found himself smiling despite his inner protests. "This is just one part of it. It's actually just about the biggest room in the whole school, bigger than even the hall. Anyways, the book I want is somewhere upstairs. If you like, I could point out the book sections for you?" Theo offered. Then he mentally slapped himself. Why did he do that? But really, Rajih's smile and enthusiasm was contagious. He couldn't help but smile and slow down to a stroll of sorts as he went around the library, his mind mentally scanning shelves until he remembered where the book was.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 24, 2011 11:33 pm

"Extra classes?" Rajih snorted and then smiled, "Did you have to take extra classes Theo." He cocked his head again, smiling. ahh, he did so enjoy teasing the boy. He passed the students now with breezy attitude, ignoring the look that Theo gave him and proceeded again to the Library.

"Drown in homework? Man that sounds like a super fun time though. I can't wait to start getting into classes."
Rajih loved studying after all, reading and practicing. He just couldn't wait to develop his magical talents. His hands rub together as he thought of what classes he would want to take. Something with offensive magic after, His goal was to become a Knight.

"It gets bigger?!?!"
Rajih's snide face disappeared in the childlike demur as he walked and walked the stacks of books, his hands itched to gather tons of them at a time and take them with him. But as he was a new student, he probably would have to get a library card or something, and maybe a class before he could start borrowing books. "Sure! Can you show me the Romance, the Magical Theories and anything on Majin's section?" Rajih cocked his head, "By the way, you meant to find a book here? Do you want to find it first and then you could show me?"

"Unfortunately, yes." Theo's reply was dry, not sure why he was even answering such questions. Practically everyone had to undergo extra classes, unless they were some sort of genius or another. Neither of which Theo had ever been. He favoured the physical aspects of his studies. There was only so much studying he could endure before he wanted to set the world on fire for making him study.

Theo raidsed an eyebrow in suspicion. Rajih was a strange one. Few people he had met actually enjoyed the ridiculous amounts of homework they received from the professors. Especially since it was usually difficult as well as lengthy. And usually due on the next day. Countless night of sleep had been sacrificed to the gods of Academia as he scoured the library for the information he needed to complete him homework. It didn't take too long after to familiarize himself with the library thereafter.

"You have no idea." Theo grinned in response to Rajih's wonder. Romance? Rajih read romance? In Theo's mind, romance stories were usually accompanied by a cover that featured a busty, beautiful woman swooning in a man's arms. Some kind of tragedy or another kept them apart from one another but somehow they always managed to be happy. It just didn't make sense to Theo. "You read romance?" Theo asked again, hoping he'd misheard for the sake of his own sanity. "Majin section's upstairs. Where I'm heading actually." Theo said. "Magical throeis... eehhh. Depends on what you're looking for. The whole library is magical theories mostly. You need to be more specific." Theo said as he started towards the stairs leading upwards to more books.

"Ah, That must say something about you studying." Rajih made the off handed comment to piss the other boy off, seeing as it was funny to see Theo mad. Not sure why again, but he just loved messing with the boy so much.

"Don't raise your eyebrow haha."
Rajih laughed, pointing it out. "Some people enjoy the work to test the mind. I just like learning new things and applying it. Besides what else would I do with my day? There's a reason I came to the Academy!" Rajih tapped the books as he found some he would like to take, starting a pile in his arms.

"Yes, I read Romance." Rajih looked over at Theo before Shrugging....and then stopped when Theo asked again, this time turning to give him a smile. "Why yes Theo, I do read Romance, It can be enlightening on how to best touch a woman's heart but over all, It can help with defining how young men should be when they get older." He shrugged again, "Maybe you should try one, I bet you'd be more culturally pleased by it than you think." He joked again.

"Ah, Good! The more I learn of the Majin's the better. How come your going there?"
Rajih cocked his head again, his pile of books was slightly growing as he pass and stopped, grabbing whatever suited his fancy. "Oh uh, Magical Theories! I was looking for something that had to do with the balance of melding magics together, like certain types. Or Elemental magic, I need to look more into what I want to study after all."

Theo worked his jaw in an attempt to control himself and restrain himself from setting Rajih and a portion of the library on fire. He doubted that the professors would take to kindly to the loss of the books, not to mention some of these books were rarities, some even the only copy of their kind.

Theo shook his head and decided against answering Rajih. The other boy would no doubt provoke him until he wanted to strangle him to death, so not saying anything was the safer option. Until he brought up the romance. "No." Theo's tone brooked no argument. He rarely read for pleasure, preferring to spend his time honing his skills. "I'm not really keen on touching a woman's heart the best way possible, not to mention things are never what they're like in those nonsensical books. Absolutely and completely unrealistic." Theo's voice was hard. He didn't understand why anyone wanted to let themselves get caught into a fantasy of a happily ever after, especially when such things didn't exist in the real world. Theo was a realist, shattering the fragile bubbles that people harboured that were usually full of unrealistic dreams which would never come true.

"I suppose. It really depends on what you want to do I suppose. Ars Lilium? Or a Reaper?" Theo asked, watching as Rajih grabbed any and every book they passed by, the pile in his arms growing gradually larger as they passed more shelves. "Elemental magic, again is divided. Fire, water, earth, air, light, darkness. Those are the basic elemental magics. And melding magic is in that section over there." Theo pointed at the far end of the library. "However, you need a teacher's permission to even go in, never mind borrow a book. Melding two different magics is a difficult task and only very few are asked to even attempt it." Theo commented as they passed by more shelves. He headed for the flight of stairs that connected the floors, swooping down in a graceful spiral. "And up we go. You'll see why I want the book once you read the title." Theo smirked as he started moving up the stairs.
