The molted wild dog rolled his tongue out and contemplated teasing his companion once more. It still amused him that Haruki had managed to hook up with a hot girl. Even more so when the lady and Haruki had approached him trailed by six adorable pups. Ilarion had to admit he'd been speechless for nearly a minute when informed that three of the pups would be traveling with him and Haruki.

He decided that he'd teased the good natured wolf enough for the moment. Ilarion sat down to survey the work he and Haruki had done. "I think that den will hold up quite well. If we stay here longer than you think we can always shore it up." He gave a look around. "Say where did the little ones run off to?"

Haruki'Ryuu backed out of the temporary den and shook the dirt from his fur. It was more work than he'd realized to build a den every night for the trio of pups. Kicking the excess away from the entrance he gave a glance at Ilarion as if guessing what he was thinking. Haruki took advantage of the dog's generosity and poked a little fun at him. "We're lucky you didn't fair as I did. What would we do with more little ones running underfoot?"

It was just a tease. More-n-likely the pups would have been left with the mother. Still, three was turning out to be quite a handful. "Hmmmmm not sure. They were close by last time we looked out. Let me go find them. Why don't you stay here and rest old man in case they come back on their own." Haruki rose to his feet and trotted out to encircle the area. He gave a sharp yip to call his pups to him if they heard.

Ilarion was watching the direction his familiar had walked off toward when a call came from another place. Had the silly wolf gotten all the way around there already? When he looked, he was it wasn't Haruki after all, but another wild dog. He let his tongue loll out in a happy grin. Now he'd have someone to chat with while waiting and he wouldn't be bored!

"Hey back to you!" He wagged his tail, though he was sitting down and the other might not see it. Surely the rest of his posture showed he was happy. Ilarion noted the colors and markings of the other wild dog with amusement.

Haruki was still looking when he heard two shouts. One sounded unfamiliar and the other he knew quite well. The maned wolf turned back to give his friend support if he needed. He peeped over a small hill to keep himself hidden so he could suprise the intruder. Instead both males looked happy to see each other. This confused him cause he was absolutely sure Ilarion hadn't mentioned a relative. Long lost friends maybe?

"Pointi Pointi! Good to meet ya! I'm Ilarion, and Haruki'Ryuu is around here somewhere looking for his pups. Silly boy went and lost them, can you believe? So what brings you around? Seen any pretty ladies lately?"

He was in a delightful good mood. They weren't in any hurry to get somewhere, and he didn't often get the chance to chat up another dog. Still he looked around hoping he might catch sight of Haruki. Wouldn't do for the maned wolf to chase the poor fellow off.

Haruki blinked and sighed. Sometimes Ilarion could be stupid friendly. Maybe that was why he liked the silly dog. He was torn between finding his pups, or staying and watching Ilarion. Finally he decided they could wait awhile and see they returned on their own. The black wolf came trotting out from behind the hill and hailed the duo of dogs.

"Hey there."

The splotched male nodded happily. Maybe he could wish Pointi was a pretty lady, but having any wild dog company was delightful. He laughed and nodded. "Ayup. Loveable little tykes they are too." Ilarion tilted his head as his new friend mentioned looking for his own family.

"Oh, lost them did ya? Lemme see here." Ilarion took his time to give the other male a good look over. Had he seen anyone like that? Just then he spotted Haruki coming their way. "Oi Haruki we seen anyone looking like him?" The male gave a good natured, long suffering sigh, "it'z a shame no females."

The dark wolf plodded over and sat near Ilarion. He gave a sad shake of his head. "Nay, sadly. Not a one like you. At least you know they haven't been the way we've come yet." He gave a nod as the other wild dog named him correctly. "That is indeed me."

"I'm sure you will. It will be a happy reunion." Ilarion wasn't sure how he'd feel if he'd lost his family. He had been wandering for as long as he could remember. Some of that time was of course with Haruki. His family was probably scattered to the four winds with no hope of ever finding them.

That was ok too. He was sure they were leading lives they could be happy with. Plus if he found one, Ilarion was sure that they'd ask him to stay with them and he'd have to tell them no. The spotty male gave a laugh and a shrug. "S'alright. Can't blame you for your gender."

The wolf gave a polite nod as the wild dog introduced himself. He had heard the introductions from afar, but he wasn't going to say that. "Like wise, if you'll excuse me." He glanced around hoping to see his pups coming at the sound of talking. Except they weren't. With Pointi verified as no threat, he was more than ready to go look.

"Seems as though my pups have wandered off. I really must of look for them now." He gave a grin and a fairwell tail wag as he rose to his feet and trotted off. They'd get a stern talking to, just walking off like that.

Ilarion chuckle and waved his paw. "It's been good meeting you Pointi. Haruki I'm sure would give his thanks if he wasn't utterly distracted."
