--------------------------- I will fight for one last breath, I will fight until the end-----

TABWisps of mauve colored locks twisted around the five foot four hourglass figure, piercing eyes glancing over the skyline of the massive city of Tokyo. They flew high above the city in an MH-60 Black Hawk. The loud thumps of the helicopter blades slicing through the air were but a distant thought to the top agent. Even though her and her team had just finished a job, they had received strict instructions to proceed to the hotel complex. Even young Serenity knew what that meant. At the mere thought of seeing the disheveled, slouched detective, she smiled. A rather large bald man sat in the bench along the back wall of the cockpit. He had turned to look at their leader, smirking gingerly. "Ay, look at that." His voice was deep, the epitome of power. A lanky boy with long, electric blue hair tied back in a loose pony at the base of his scalp looked up from his handheld gadget. He snickered, "`Oy! A rare sight to behold!" The boy stood up, gliding across the small space over to the wide open siding that Major stood at. His nimble fingers grasped at the roof handle, his own hair beginning to whip in different directions. "Ah! It's true! She be smilin`!" The man shut his left eye almost making his pirate esque role a real one. Serenity shut her eyes softly, the corner of her mouth ticking upward to a smirk. "Hai...." she started, only for her foot to quickly shift its position and kick out the lightning haired man's foot right out from under him.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!!" The pilot shouted when his peripheral vision caught the lad falling from the chopper. Just as quickly as her foot had moved, her arm outstretched and grasped hold of his combat vest. The soles of his boots were barely clinging to the edge of the flying machine. His arms flailed just like the blades of the vehicle that kept them afloat. Serenity kept stern eyes on his face, watching the terror unfold. Behind her, the larger man was laughing; holding his gut as if it were about to burst. "This isn't f-funny Major! I'M JUST A TECHYYYY!!!!" Nate shouted at the top of his lungs--and even that was barely loud enough to be heard over the propellers. Letting out a a soft giggle of her own, the leader practically tossed Nate to the floor of the chopper. He scurried to his little corner behind the cockpit where his bag and things were, clinging his handheld. The seven foot eight mass of muscle, Lucus, tapped Nate on the knee with the bottom of his boot. "Oh relax. She wouldn't have dropped you." He sat back against the back wall, folding his arms over his massive chest. "Sometimes I really wonder..." Nate hissed, only to be laughed at by the other two.

In no time at all, the chopper had come to the building in question. Serenity lifted her fist up, her index finger out. She twisted her arm in a circular motion, signaling the pilot to "bring her down". The three held onto the conventionally placed handles around the door openings and kept their boots planted. Serenity's pupils thinned to the likeness of a feline. On the roof bellow was a slouched, ratty-haired man with his hands shoved in his pockets. The very minute Serenity confirmed this was him, she couldn't control her emotions any longer--whoa, what? This was Major Serenity! Miss calm, cool, and collected! You could have cut her arm off with a rusty hand saw and the woman wouldn't have flinched. Yet seeing this weird boy made her fountain with emotion? It was a marvelous thing, actually.

None could stop the long haired woman from jumping ship. No one in their right mind would try either. They were hovering about maybe seven yards from the roof of the building when Serenity leapt out. The fall was far from slow motion. Long lavender hair swished far behind her with her downward fall, gathering velocity and momentum. L took a few steps back, his form not wavering other than this. Serenity landed a few feet from him with a slight crouch On her way up, she hopped toward L and wrapped her arms tightly around his thin form. "I didn't expect you to arrive so soon, Missy." L spoke softly even as the chopper was landing. Thankful for her trained hearing and ability to read mouths, Serenity stood up on her tippy-toes to plant a kiss to the man's cheek. "The minute we got the transmission I made the two bozo's stop dragging their asses." Letting go of him, she turned to see the large one and the lanky kid hop out of the machine. Comparing the two in stature was hilarious. L looked the two over, the blankest of expressions plastered to his pasty skin. He lifted a single hand from out of his pocket and gave a slight wave to the two. He had met them a few times before, but only briefly.

That was the life Serenity lived now. After she had been taken away from the orphanage, Lawliet hadn't seen her until his 16th birthday. And when she came back, she was a completely different person. Both physically, and mentally. Serenity was only 17 years old, yet she looked like a fill-grown woman. She still looked young, but the way she carried herself made her seem much older. Both Lawliet and Serenity lost their childhoods in different ways. Serenity never got to experience it, and Lawliet couldn't enjoy it. Now he was stuck in a compendium of paranoia and sugary treats. But he was doing good, just like she was. That was all that mattered.

After the jeers of arrival and some jokes about how Serenity could have broken her ankles, the group went inside and were assigned their rooms. Nate and Lucus disappeared into their rooms where they unpacked their things. So long as Major was here, they would remain. After all, they were a team. And technically, they were now on vacation. For the mission L had in store for them, they needed to rest up. This Kira guy was causing everyone a lot of trouble. He was pissing the United States off. Other nations knew from personal experience that the last thing you wanted to do was exactly that. Yet instead of bringing the whole military force down on Japan, they simply sent their best team in. Now who said it was bad to know people in high places?

Lawliet took Serenity to her very own room with a gorgeous view. Serenity walked across the plush white carpeting toward the plate glass window that took up the entire wall looking out at the city. "Only the best for you." Lawliet murmured, his little way of joking with her. This was how he was. He knew the grimy conditions she usually stayed in. She was lucky if there was a roof of some kind over her head. Sleeping in the dirt was something she grew accustomed to. Or, not sleeping at all. The female lifted her gloved hand and pressed it loosely against the window, releasing a sigh of relief. Wherever L seemed to be at the time, it always felt like home. No matter if it was the orphanage or some giant-a** hotel he had taken control of. Once she stepped inside, she knew that she could collapse wherever she wanted and she didn't have to worry about a laser on her head or a knife in her throat. "Thank you, L. I've missed you, ya know... I'm sorry for not visiting sooner, it's just--" Serenity turned to face the raven haired boy only to be interrupted. "I understand. No need to explain the obvious, Missy." He stated lifting a candy bar out of his pocket to nosh on. Serenity shook her head, leaning back against the glass. The room was quiet, but calm. It was the chaotic calm one needed to worry about. She laughed, breaking the silence. "You need to stop calling me that. The guys already think its ok."

The two chattered a bit more before L brought up the seriousness that was Kira. He was a definite threat to the world. L had no idea how he was able to kill people seemingly without ever being there. What he did know was that he was smart, and he suspected young Light Yagami of being the killer. A hunch was all Serenity needed to warrant her aiding in this operation. L began to inform her of the steps they had already taken, and of what Serenity needed to do. Her job was to get close to Yagami. Gain his trust, and betray him. A Trojan Horse. They were not hiding her identity in this at all. Everyone would be aware of her rank, her position, what she was to do. Serenity was to keep everyone in on whatever it is she was doing unless she felt it was best that nobody know.

After all was said and done, Lawliet left the room and shut the door behind her. Serenity sighed and pushed herself off of the glass window. She walked her way over to the bed where she dropped her pack. On the bedside table was a universal remove. She used this to draw the curtains and turn on the air conditioning in the room. Yes, she preferred her room as cold as Russia when she slept. It was better to bundle up in tons of blankets than to be so unbearably hot you wished to tear your own skin off. Major turned on the bedside light and reached into her pack. Out of the dirty rucksack, she pulled a scarlet notebook that read "Death note" across the front. She stared down at it, fingering the bindings. Not too far behind her stood a tall, despicable creature. His body was wrapped in chains. Where the chains were not, dead, black skin shine through. And where there were skin could not be seen, bloodied bandage wraps adorned his dead form. Long black hair peaked out from what bandages wrapped his head. The bandages covered his left eye, leaving a glowing red one exposed. He was a terrifying creature that even had Serenity a little on-toe. He only spoke when they made the deal in that dreary dark room back at the harbor. His voice chilled her to the bone. Then again...she was just as much of a monster as he was.

                                ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅ ▅

Bright pink eyes stared into the foggy mirror of the cleansed white bathroom. It reminded her a lot of that room. She shut her eyes tightly, trying her hardest not to let her mind float back to those horrors. Her hair had already dried and retained its lustrous bounce that it usually had, nothing but a towel wrapped around herself. Taking in a deep breath, the officer left the bathroom and kept the door open so that the mirror could defog. Serenity proceeded to get dressed into a pair of skinny jeans and a white tank top that hugged her curves. She pulled on a pair of comfortable black knee-high boots with three buckles near the top of the boot. It was dressier than her usual attire, but her usual attire consisted of body armor and on some occasions, mud. Serenity pinned her hair up so that it looked like it was in a clip, only her hair fell straight down. A few pieces hung down in front of her face and to the side. Serenity grabbed the black neck-band from the bedside dresser and clipped it around her neck, sighing softly. Today was going to be a long day.

Serenity left her room and headed down the hallway, rubbing the back of her neck. She figured that her two teammates would be sleeping in today. God knows when the last time they had a nice warm bed to sleep in was. Preparing herself for the day to come, she headed toward the control room where she figured a few people would be up bright and early--namely Lawliet with his eyes glued to the screen. Today was also the day she'd meet young Yagami. She wondered what the kid was like... The way Lawliet described him, he was an annoyance. A cunning annoyance. There was also a little blonde girl. L said he didn't really care for her, but she was famous or something. Serenity didn't really keep up with who was new on the scene. She wasn't a hipster like that. But whoever the girl was would have to be taken care of if she was that close to Light. Serenity's job was to become the best thing to ever happen to Mr. Light Yagami. Of course, she'd need more Intel if she was going to do her job right.

The busty woman stepped into the elevator and took it down to the operations room. Once those doors opened, she walked across the tiled floor as if she had been there before. Nothing was going to get between her and her tea. Serenity stopped at the "refreshment" table, mostly consisting of painfully sweet treats. However, there was coffee and tea, to her surprise. Cops drank coffee, right? She wouldn't know. She went straight from Basic to more intense training, and then straight to the lab... Shaking the thoughts, the woman began making her tea. Two tea bags, two teaspoons of sugar, and a little bit of milk. It looked like coffee, but tasted a hell of a lot better in her opinion.

[ I'm sorry it took so long! God damn animals. I'm sorry if this sucks too >: I wasn't exactly sure where to take it xD ]

LightKira.S h i n i g a m i. They were they bane of his existence as if almost making it their goal to plot against him when everything was going just according to plan. Ryuuk was one of the only Shinigami that he'd every met during his short life and Light was sure that almost all 'Gods of Death' weren't as annoying as him. He hovered above Light, like a mother though the slight difference would be the mother had killed her children and was watching them scream. Yeah, a different experience and a deadly consequence should Ryuuk every get bored. It seemed that above all else, Light had figured, that this was all just like a game to him. Waiting just until Light died to go find another form of entertainment, and leaving chaos and terror in his wake. Kira had started with this, and if it was anything to go by then Kira would also disappear from the world the moment the teen had finally passed on. To where, he was still unsure for the Shinigami had specifically stated that those who used the Death Note would neither find themselves at Heaven's Gate nor Hell's Fiery Pit. Not that it mattered much to Light, dead was dead.

LightKira.Looking over his shoulder Light threw up one of the apples he'd just purchased, being the only one on the street. Well, he'd thought that before he was attacked frontal assault style that knocked both persons to the ground. The back of Lights head made an uncomfortable meeting with the concrete that was below him. Before he even made the effort to ask who it was, a yellow colored curtain had filled his vision and Light groaned. "Ligghhht-kun~ A high pitched squeal reached his ears before he had a chance to cover them. Misa Amane. While she didn't need to be directed somewhere else less she see a floating apple that was probably in the air above them, she needed to find a new obsession. Light was getting tired of being the ground every time he met the supermodel, his a** didn't like it all that much either. "Misa...get off of me. You're heavy." Misa backed off of him, so that the teen could finally sit up. She wasn't on his chest anymore like he wanted, but that didn't stop her from sitting on his legs so that he couldn't get up any more than this. Light couldn't help his head that fell to his chest as he breath both a sigh of relief and annoyance. That's what he got for taking the bait and contacting the second Kira, he had been foolish those months ago.

LightKira."You can't say that to a lady Light!! We are sensitive feelings you know..." Misa sputtered, sat up and was bouncing on his legs. Yes, the Death Note owner should have killed her the second that he'd gotten a chance, but the looming presence that was always behind the blonde told him otherwise. While Rem lived, Light was always in danger of being killed before he could complete any of his goals. Trying to make a new world and falling short of it was not an option that he was even willing to make. Whether it was accident or not, he hoped that Misa's time was soon. Light didn't know how much more of this 'pretend boyfriend' he could take, not to mention Misa didn't even have the partial intelligence that Light possessed. It made trickery easy and cunning on her part all that much harder. Light finally sat up enough to lightly push Misa off and slid he legs back to him, they were going to be numb after this. Though he'd never usually push a girl, in any situation, he felt this was needed and Misa just pushed that button that made him forget the manners that his mother had taught him. Getting to his feet, he made a show of putting his hand to his chest and rubbing as if in pain. He knew what made Misa forget all about his rudeness and worry over her 'boyfriend'.

LightKira."Oh! Are you alright Light? I didn' mea-" She trailed off seeing that he was being over dramatic and just trying to distract her. "Ohh~ You're being a meanie Light..."

LightKira."I'm supposed to be, aren't I?" he asked. A smirk that resembled a smile made it's way onto his face. He didn't mind the little teasing with each other when he was in a good mood, but right now he'd just been trying to get this conversation over with quickly to the best of his ability. He glanced up towards Ryuuk, who had of course already polished off the red apple, and nodded. Ryuuk made a huffing noise and floated off to do who knows what for the owner of his notebook. His flapping wings signaled the sign of his leave to not only Light, but the second Kira and her own Shinigami as well. Though usually expressionless, Rem raised a non-existent eyebrow at the action and she had the right to do so too. Ryuuk was known to go off on his own when the moment suited him only to come back because he was bored or begged for another apple from Light, but never was he specifically ordered to go and do something. Rem suspected that he was promised a landfill of apples as a price for his actions.

LightKira.Startled by another full body hug, he grabbed onto the only thing available and it just so happened to be Misa. It looked to any on-goer that they'd just seen a girl attack her boyfriend with a love filled hug...Egh~ Light opened his mouth to say something, but the supermodel had already let go and was backing away, but not before she whispered something in his ear. 'Ryuzaki just had a friendly visitor, a problem if I had any say so...' As she back away farther, she yelled her goodbye's and was already around the street corner before he had time to react to what she'd just said. A visitor, and a girl it seemed. Light wondered what she was here for. For help? Or was she contacting L for the Kira case? It would all in time tell, but he'd have to wait for Ryuuk. Light didn't know where Misa got some of her inside information, but he suspected it was from that officer Matsuda. He was the youngest and most naive to get info from.L.

LightKira. For all the people in the world, Light didn't care half of them. More that most people were sitting around doing nothing with their lives, some were too young to do anything and then there were people like Light and L. L was about the only person to matter to Light in a long time, the only one with the IQ to keep up with Light cunning mind. As he thought, he walked. Though he had thought about heading home after he'd bought the two apple for Ryuuk, now it seemed that it would only deter from his thinking. Sayu would only bug him and ask if he'd been out with a girl while his mother would again fuss over his health state and sleep. His father of course wouldn't be home as he was working on the Kira case, day in and day out with Ryuuzaki. Light headed towards the park, it was easier to think there and he also wouldn't be tempted to go to Ryuuzaki and demand the rights to see the new 'member' of the their team. L had invited what he would guess as the backup for this case. They would to catch Kira, try to tame him. It wasn't going to be easy, no, it was never easy when Light put his mind to it.Now he had something else to worry about, an unexpected visitor. Light hated those with a passion.

LightKira. After a while walking around practically doing nothing, Light couldn't help his curious urges to see what L had really planned by bring this women here. What was she like? Was she at least mentally competent to keep up with L and Light on their Kira search. He hoped that she wasn't anything like Misa, but he put those thoughts out of his head as he knew that L probably wouldn't have anything, but the best when he worked on difficult cases like this one. Now Light was very intrigued to meet her. They had recently set up headquarters at a nearby hotel, it was discrete but large in size. L had payed for the top two floors, one to be used as a living space and the other for all their case problems. Kira content covered almost every inch of the walls, filling L in on the current news and any possible leads that they were always heading towards. Light flashed a made up badge, an alias at the doorman who was in control of the elevator and though he was watching for suspicious people that headed into the lift. He hadn't the slightest clue that the world's best detective was 30 odd floors above his head. Light nodded to him and stepped in, he pressed the button for the second to the top floor and the doors closed behind him.

TABThe cops rolled in one by one, all with pretty much the same expression; exhausted. The Kira case had taken a lot out of everyone. Turning around, she watched an older gentleman walk in beside someone who looked fresh out of the academy. Soichiro Yagami, Light Yagami's father. He was the Chief Investigator of the Kira case, and had joined L's team a little later on. From what she read of his file, he was a truly honest man with a strong sense of justice. He had a family; a wife and two kids. There was Sachiko, the wife. Truly a kind woman. Their daughter, Sayu, took after her mother, yet with their father's ambition. Then of course, there was Light. The kid's file was extraordinary. Serenity was a smart woman, more-so than the average person. However, her intellect lay in other areas of expertise; warranting the interest of the military. But Light was a booksmart she had only seen in L. She could really see why Lawliet suspected the boy of being Kira. With the way L explained it, L was very crafty. He manipulated those around him to get what he wanted. The thing that caught her attention though was how squeaky clean his record was. It was...perfect. Literally the epitome of perfect. He was the top of his grade from k-12 and currently he was still top of the grade. He never got in trouble. He always had great reviews. Not a single slip-up. His family loved him.

Yea, maybe Serenity read too much, but what was she supposed to do with that thing creeping in the corner of her room? So she had stayed up all night studying each person she would be around. This was a mission, and a serious one at that. People were dying who didn't need to be. Important people were dying. Hell, this Kira guy had even ******** with one of her missions by killing off an informant. Light seemed to be her primary objective. Befriend him. Let him feel powerful by thinking he's using her. Of course, Serenity wasn't going to pretend to be anyone she wasn't. She would be herself. And knowing what she read about Light....he would take the bait. After all, that Misa character he had as his little girlfriend? He had to be going insane right now. I mean, did that broad ever go to school? Or did she skate by on her looks? The thought was humerous.

The younger cop was Touta Matsuda. He was a sweet little righteous boy. Cute as hell too, she had to admit. He wasn't as experienced as the others, but he made up for it with perseverance and drive. Needless to say, Serenity really couldn't find anything suspicious about any of the officers. Yes, that was what L hired her to do. She was good at what she did, and she saw things no person ever should, let alone a 17 year old girl. But she knew a great deal about character analysis.

L turned around in his seat, sticking a fork into a miniature cake and dropping the whole thing into his mouth. He had no intention of speaking, just to survey who was here. Everyone was here, except for a few people. Soichiro cleared his throat and adjusted the glasses on his face, half expecting L to address him and at least say why there was a young pink haired girl in the room. L turned to look at Mr. Yagami, then to Serenity who was blissfully sipping away at her warm tea. Not too hot, but hotter than warm. Even with her eyes shut peacefully, she could feel L's baggy eyes boring into her. The longer he stared at her, the more the other officers turned one by one to stare at the woman with. For someone who spent most of her time out of the spotlight, this felt very uncomfortable. Choking on a lump of sugar that hadn't dissolved yet, Serenity gave her chest a firm pound with a balled fist. "We're just waiting for everyone to get here, is all. Please be patient." Serenity coughed half way through speaking. Dammit. Way to go L. A part of her believed he enjoyed making her look like an idiot.

Just as Light exited the elevator and was headed toward the door leading to the operations room, a boy that looked to be the same age as Light whizzed past him. He almost knocked him over! Quickly turning to the suspected murderer, Nate smirked a devilish smirk, eyes darting to the giant running down the hallway. "Yo fatty! Move it!" Nate shouted before pulling the door open and entering. Lucus entered seconds after him, both panting with their hands on their knees. With perfect timing, they both looked up at the pink haired female whose eyes were now fixated on the two clearly out of place men. "S-Sorry we're late, Major..." Nate murmured, standing up with utter shame in his eyes. "We? It took you two hours to get out of the bathroom." The large man coughed, crossing his arms over his large pectorals. Nate stood up straight, flicking the hair dangling from his ponytail with such flamboyancy. "At least I TRY to look attractive, you ogre!"

The more the two fought, the more apparent the vein in the pink haired woman's forehead was. It escalated to the point where she just couldn't take it any more. So with further ado! Serenity placed her index and thumb between her lips and blew. The pitch was high enough to cause mostly everyone in the room to cover their ears. Serenity found it worked best to get them to stop fighting. There were only so many times she could hit them before their intellect would drop. "I'm sorry about them. I'm afraid they have been denied real human contact in a very long time." Serenity smiled softly before taking a rather large file from the desk behind her that consisted of, well, sugar. "Now that we're all here, I think we can get things underway." She walked over to Mr. Yagami and gingerly handed him her file. The strange woman walked over to where L sat. He still remained silent, his eyes mostly on Light to gauge his reaction to all of this. Serenity placed her hand on the awkward boy's head, fingers firmly planted. The look on L's face was that of confusion as he attempted to look up at whatever it was she was doing.

"I have read the personal file of everyone in this room, and I would suspect you would want to do the same. After all, what is a relationship without trust?" Serenity cooed, leaning back against the giant keyboard. Everyone still seemed fairly confused...especially the one looking over her file. A lot of things were marked out as classified. In fact, her whole file pretty much said classified. The point was, she supplied it. "Kira has personally disrupted my work on several occasions. When I was asked by my dear friend L to help with the investigation, I couldn't say no" she continued. "My team and I are here to lend our skill set to capture this nuisance. However, I will warn you all...our ways of dealing with Kira will be much different than your own. We will not be as forgiving as L, or Yagami's task force." Serenity's strange pale pink eyes glanced around the room at all of the faces. She was no stranger to making speeches. It was actually required of her to learn. "If we feel we have sufficient evidence of who is Kira, we will kill on site. And I don't mean any offense to your government...but..."

The seductress pushed herself off of the keypad, releasing L from her grasp so he could continue eating his treats. "What I do requires a certain mindset. What I have done, none can even imagine having to live with. Have you ever felt a man's throat collapse beneath your fingertips? Have you ever taken the life of a child? A whole family? I have been in places of the earth deemed unfit to sustain human life. I have been behind enemy lines. I have seen, done things you could only ever read about..." Serenity held eye contact with every single person in that room, her stature never wavering. Turning back to Light's father, she gave a soft frown. "I'm sorry about the inconsistencies of my file, sir. There was only so much they would let me tell you." She spoke softly before turning back to the others. "I was told "by any and all means", which means I have no boundaries. Those who get in the way will be disposed of."

Nate an Lucus stayed silent through the whole thing. They were on thin ice as it was. Last thing they wanted was to crack wise at her speech and land them in even hotter water. Letting a slow breath pass her lips, she folded her arms under her bust. "Any questions?"

LightKira.S h i n i g a m i.The moment he stepped of the elevator, he was met with chaos. Papers in almost every corner of the room, and strangers he had yet to meet filled the center shared with the other member of the task force. It looked to Light that they were all going to be introduced at the same time, though one of the new member stood out among the rest. A woman with fuchsia colored hair stood, looking composed and collected for everyone to see. but had a small tick of irritation as she seemingly peered at her teammates. She apologized for their behavor and handed his father a thick, but red tabbed folder. Clearly the leader Light guessed. The second person that Light's gaze caught was the leader of all this, L. L sat in his strange position like always, gauging the situation and eating a certain sweet as always though for the life of him he couldn't help but smirk when the woman practically invaded the detective's personal space by putting her hand on his head.

LightKira.Light glanced once more the woman through the top of his eyes, before flipping open her file. Classified. Classified. Classified. It told certain things about her, and other information Light could only wish he had clearance to. Things marked out in red were specifically stamped out as classified as they should be because they were signed by some very important people Light saw. It made him sigh a little bit and slowly close the folder and his eyes. Looking through that folder gave him nothing, he much preferred to see about a person himself. He didn't want to know the IQ of someone he read on paper, because that truly didn't mean a thing when it came to real life. If you didn't have the common sense to back up your knowledge then it was all as good as useless. It could get you dead if you couldn't figure out how to protect yourself using your brain, and that's always been Light biggest pet-peeve. Put the testing to use in the real world, that's what this high school kid did every day even if it wasn't extroverted.

LightKira.Light opened his eyes again to find that Serenity, as he now knew, had walked over to the middle of the room and far away enough to keep them from sweating. Though her next words couldn't really stop the slight shivers that broke out across the Task Force. Light looked upon the woman with an intense stare, his brown eyes narrowing into the persona we all know as 'Kira'. Light crossed his arms to stop the trembling in his hands, the urge he fought to keep them from his pockets and the pen inside. He didn't have the Death Note with him of course, that would be inexplicably stupid to do so, but none the less it didn't stop thoughts. He wasn't going to kill this person, but for some reason it seemed to calm his mind to just write their name on a regular piece of paper as if not to forget it.

LightKira.Light played his part and seemed awed and almost frightened as Serenity mentioned killing people. Children, families that she had left broken and dark places she's been. Through out this whole time though, Light answered 'yes' to almost every question in his head. Families have definitely been destroyed as his time as Kira, but about the children he couldn't say but he supposed it didn't matter as Kira kills every criminal that deserves it, child or not.

LightKira.Darkness. Yes, Light definitely knew about that, though his was more in the mental sense. The Kira presence in his mind took a chunk of unrelenting darkness with it, he sealed it off and beginning with his first killing it started to slowly take over. Light's thoughts hadn't been disrupted as Serenity still continued to talk. Light was used to listening to two voice as once to make a real problem, and then he heard her, 'Any questions?'.

LightKira.Yagami Soichiro stepped forward and faced her. "Uh, Miss....Serenity, I respect your enthusiasm towards this case. Most of us have grudges through out this case, but as standing Chief of the NPA, I cannot condone everything you do. We have limits you know..." Light's father coughed into his fist. "That isn't to say though that we won't help to the fullest of our abilities." Soichiro beckoned towards his only son and the rest of the task force to come forward to meet Serenity directly. Light was the most confident at coming forward so he reached her first. The teen put on his signature smile and gladly held out his hand figuring she'd be more comfortable with a hand shake then the customary bow. Finally.

LightKira."It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Serenity. I'm Light Yagami and I hope that we get along in the future." Light stated simply, the shaking of his body gone, the itch no longer present.

Subject454.Of course, what was the point in overselling one's own self? That would have been downright foolish. Like always on these kinds of missions, the officer undersold herself. Technically, what she did, didn't exist. Every mission she had ever been on, never happened. The file she had presented to the group was simply of her training. After Basic, however, the information that could be shared was limited. Such was the ways of her life. Only so much information could be revealed. Any actions she performed outside of her progress reports in the Marines and Green Barrettes was non-existent. After all, they never happened. The expressions around the room varied from person to person. Matsuda seemed the most worried about her part in their squad. Maybe it was the fact that she had access to even the most classified of their files, yet she could read it all. They had no real idea of who this woman was other than what was on paper. The thought was unsettling. Having your own life picked apart piece by piece but not being able to do the same thing to others. Then again, Matsuda was just one giant ball of worry. Sometimes, that was what made him such a great detective. And currently, that was what kept him alive. The man worked off of his emotions; gut feelings. That was something Serenity could truly respect.

Subject454.While threatening pink eyes never stayed on one person for too long, that was what she had her two little shadow boys for. The group was specially trained in more ways than one. You could pretend all you wanted but while the Shinigami Eye allowed one to see the death and birth as well as the name of a human being, Serenity's could see much, much more. It was all about the little things. Light's mistake? His eyes. His body could react as a normal teenage boy all it wanted, but his eyes lead Serenity to believe that L's hunches were right. For even just a brief second, Serenity had seen something treacherous in the boy's eyes. Something that lacked human compassion; much like her own often did. This surely was going to be interesting.

Subject454.The lavender-haired woman turned when Light's father began to speak and could only smile. But before she could even reply to what he had said to clarify her standpoint, the young high school student was presented eagerly before her with his hand outstretched in the American form of introductions. For a moment, the female looked down at his hand through the glasses sitting atop the bridge of her nose. Nate and Lucus watched curiously, Nate giving Lucus a good jab to his side. Touching really wasn't Serenity's forte. Her touch tended to bring people to the afterlife, or whatever plane of existence said person believed in. The young woman was used to saluting, or standing at attention with eyes locked forward. She had never really shook another person's hand, at least without gloves. Attempting to shrug off her insecurities, Major gave an endearing smile and took Light's hand firmly. His eagerness interested her. Did he want to size her up? Or maybe just be the first to do so? Nevertheless, Serenity tilted her head to the left ever-so slightly. "Hah, please, no formalities are necessary. Especially since we'll be working together so closely." She nodded, retracting her hand. Matsuda looked up from the file that had been passed around, a kind of worry in his eyes that usually came to be when new people were introduced. "What do you mean?"

Subject454.Serenity remained facing the young boy. He was taller than her, but then again, most men were. Sure, she was tall for a woman being five foot six, especially in Japan, but it did partially bother her when it felt like the whole world was looking down on her. Maybe she had a lot of pet-peeves, but this was something that just really got to her. It was understandable especially for someone of her rank. Nobody liked being looked down on. Kira had to feel the same way. Without seeming too forward or at the very least like one of those creeps who preys on young men, she looked him over. Head to toe. He was more muscular than Nate. Good hygiene. He took care of himself. He stood up straight and his clothing was well maintained. He didn't wear cologne, just scented body wash. Serenity had never really met people long enough to obtain any sort of feelings for them except for her team and L. But she grew up with L, and she was forced to love those two idiots. So standing here attempting to blend in with everyone else was truly a hard task for the woman. However, she did a damn good job of hiding her inward struggles. Light Yagami just might have been the first male she had ever actually thought was attractive. It wasn't even improper. She was around his age. These were only thoughts though! Her thoughts. Thoughts that likely wouldn't exist for long.

Subject454. "No disrespect intended, Chief, but you have your way of dealing with Kira, and my team and I have mine." She smirked at Light as if she already had what she needed to know and turned to face L. "The United States asked them to capture Kira dead or alive, stressing on the dead. The way I see it, having Kira's life vanquished is the best way to deal with this thing." L spoke up after a while of silence. He looked to the Chief, popping a strawberry candy into his mouth. "Even if we do capture Kira and throw him in Gitmo, do you honestly think the killings will stop? We already know he isn't working alone, right? Normal logic would only narrow it down to a partner. I think the scale is bigger. There could be up to four Kira. But there is only one true killer. We cut off the head of their operation, and the rest comes tumbling down. Kira is the brains of it all. If L hasn't caught this guy yet, then that means this guy has some serious brains. Not just intellect, but strategy." Finally looking up at the screen above them, Serenity walked to it and pressed a few buttons to bring up a bunch of the news articles that had been posted. Her eyes scanned over it a few times before crouching down beside L, her arms folded across the edge of the keyboard. "Kira seems to think he is a god. A Shinigami, no? He kills those who deserves to die. Rapists. Murderers. Embezzlers. Drug Dealers. Gang Bangers. You name the crime, he'll kill them for it. I wouldn't be surprised if he started judging people on their sins. Lust. Gluttony. Greed. Sloth. Wrath. Pride. Envy. He justifies what he does by who he kills. This means more people than we think could be in danger. Prostitutes, the overweight, company owners, the homeless, those with anger issues, those who think they're better than everyone else, people who try too hard to be liked, or even liars. Kira is trying to rid this world of crime. We can gather from this that eventually, he will escalate to killing off those who simply don't fit in. The world he wants to create needs to live up to his expectations. From the profile of Kira, I assume he's never killed anyone from close up... His attitude toward everything rules out any military background. It doesn't seem like his personality is unruly. I'd say Kira is a well-mannered individual. He was brought up by a loving family. He has an over heightened sense of justice."

Subject454.She wasn't one to think out loud, but if this was going to be a group effort, she figured they'd all want to know what was going on in her head. This was the profile she had given Kira. Most of this was things the team already knew, but some of it was rather odd. Matsuda personally thought it was weird how she was able to give so much on Kira when she probably hadn't even read most of the material they had on him. Hell, she never even worked with Kira. They had contact with him. Spoke to him. Made deals with him. A chill ran up Serenity's spine, her skin prickling around the back of her neck. Behind her stood the looming force that just wouldn't stopped haunting her. "You intrigue me..." His voice felt like needles on the back of her skull. She hated feeling like this. A Shinigami wasn't something she could fight. She couldn't do a damn thing against it. All she could do was ignore the creature.

Subject454.Her arms remained on the keyboard while she stood up, leaving her back curved. Serenity bent one leg, making herself more comfortable in said position. "I will be enrolling at Light's school. I don't know what your leads tell you, but I want to get a closer look at everyone's files. Kira comes from a loving family. I need to get a feel for everything... Hm, what leads do you have, anyway?" She asked, pushing herself up from the desk. Watari had just entered the room with a brand new tray of goodies. Serenity watched as L's eyes lit up, er, as much as those droopy black holes could light up. That was how he had always been. A good mystery never made him flinch, but oh god give him sweets and the world would stop. After the new tray was set down and the old one was taken away, Serenity took up a tiny cake and placed it in her mouth. By the moons of mercury, that was sweet! Major looked down at L. The look said it all. How the hell could he eat this s**t all the time?

LightKira.T h a t girl was going to be the death of him, not just Kira, but Light Yagami as well. She read the team like a book, probably without even reading their personal files, the things about them had she already known just by the way they talk, walked. It was slightly unnerving to say the least. Now who was more dangerous in this situation? A detective who sat at his chair, eating sweets, and who never showed his face to anyone he didn't trust within an eighty percent range? Or a woman who'd just about appeared out of nowhere that knew more than she let on and probably had more abilities that she lead them to believe? Half of the information on her file was probably filled in from years ago, stuff that didn't matter if any one knew what it was about. Years of hacking into his father's computer and into the rest of the NPA files taught him to believe that everyone is not as they seem. So it was definitely safe to say that both L and Serenity were equally dangerous and needed to be watched...very carefully.

LightKira. As he watched her pick apart his persona, Light switched to the other foot every sixty seconds as if to count the time of rant. It irritated him to no end and it's never bugged him this much that someone had critiqued Kira so much. He raised an eyebrow at some of the things she said though. "I see, but I also disagree with your logic on certain points. Say...I was Kira, I really doubt I'd kill someone because of different logic view or because they lie. Everyone, 'everyone' lies because it's thing of nature though I think everyone would be better off if no one had to lie. Other than that I think Kira experiences those sins, definitely Pride. Pride is one thing I think he triumphs in, and Greed. I dare say that I consider him human just as the rest of us, though his style could use a little work. The justice in him is powerful, much like my own."He gave a small fleeting look over to Serenity. Light walked around the room as he talked and stopped before the giant screen that held the main frame of all their information. He tapped a few keys in rapid succession to bring up the right information. It brought up facts about the Kira case, it made papers around the room pale when window after window popped up on the screen.

LightKira"This is what we have so far. Characters of all kind have come into play and..." Here Light brought up a list of seven people. They were people either Light or L had suspicions about at the time, people who'd all have had strong senses of justice, but also had access to police reports and files. "..it seems like there are a lot of Japanese citizens who have access to information they shouldn't have. Most of them are expert hackers, while the others are normal. Too normal, no record is too clean. They haven't had bad grades, no really good one's either. No crimes. No tickets. No fights. Not even the occasional enemy that everyone's bound to get. They just seem...unusual for normal standards, if that make's any sense." Light fixed his hair that had fallen out of place and into his eyes.

LightKira. His brown eyes turned back to the screen to look again at the faces that he's accused of doing his job. No one could do a better job than he.

LightKira."Light. I want apples, you should leave and get me some more. I did your job." Light rolled his eyes looking at the screen. Ryuuk was a pain, but the Shinigami was easily persuaded when it came to working jobs. For the price of apples, it was an easy deal. Light lifted his hand and brushed of invisible dust from his sweater vest to signal 'later' to his unearthly visitor. Ryuuk huffed, looked over at Serenity's 'friend' and fazed again through the ceiling of where he came from. He wasn't about to tell Light that he now had another Death Note owner to look after, the suspense and fun would end too soon if he knew. Light in the mean time was none the wiser as the Shinigami left him.

LightKira.Pivoting of his heel, Light sauntered over to his father to greet him since he didn't get to earlier. "It's nice to see you father. Mother has been worried lately, do come home when you have the chance, even to just drop by because you know how Mother gets." He told the rest of the team hello and goodbye with the same sentence, acknowledging both of Serenity's teammates, to let them know he knew they were there. He spent a long time telling L and Serenity his apologies about leaving so soon, but he had stuff he had planned to do today. Misa had insisted, he told them and he saw L give a shiver. "By the way. Serenity. See you at your first day of University tomorrow. Good luck." Light politely wished her luck as he was sure that she wouldn't be used to a Japanese or even regular school for that matter. A smirk had made it's way onto his face as he turned from her, it would be interesting to see her interact with people her own age in a school of hormone crazed, barely out of high school, students that thought of nothing but college parties. Yeah, more amusing than not.

LightKira.Getting on to the elevator, he flashed his badge that told the doorman that he was going down this time. Security was a big deal at this hotel, but Light mostly thought it was because of L's personal paranoia. In the elevator Light pulled out his cell phone and dial Misa's number telling her to meet him at that little cafe where they first spoke to each other, he was also being wary of the little camera in his peripheral vision. He snapped his phone shut as the elevator dinged signaling his arrival, and as he stepped out of it he took one last look at the camera above his head. Light hated cameras, for the life of him he despised them and it was all L's fault. Sneaking camera's and little mics into his room earlier in the investigation had made Light wary of them at all times. The little shop, a gothic one at that, hadn't been really far from the hotel so he walked the three blocks that it took to get there. He looked so out of place while sitting there, but once Misa came through the doors he was their new favorite customer as he was Misa Misa's boyfriend and welcome any time. "Light~! Oh, how nice of you Light to invite me here. This is one of my favorite little places of all time. Thank you~" Before he could say anything Misa had stolen a kiss from him, after all they were] boyfriend and girlfriend. Misa would take every chance she got to prove that to the world and to Light. She would make him see the light one day. 'Haha~ I said Light..." The goofy grin on her face was snapped off her face as she gave Light her undivided attention.

LightKira. So, what do we plan to do Light?" Misa questioned with a tilt of her head.

Subject454.Light's answers were curious to say the least. Serenity was never one to jump to conclusions, but it seemed like the young Yagami boy was defending Kira. His tone was rather defensive, at least. How would Light know what Kira would do? No amount of intellect could determine what he would do next. Even profilers couldn't do that, in Serenity's opinion. The human condition was a complicated one. If pushed hard enough, people would do things far out of their normal range. Serenity was hoping that she could get Kira to do just that. Nor so out of the usual that he would show himself or slip. But trick him, in a way. "Like you said, Light. Kira is human. Humans make mistakes, they slip. No matter how smart this guy is, he will make a mistake. And when he does?" Turning around to face Light, she smirked. "I'll be there to watch him fall." Her pupils thinned ever-so slightly as she stared at the brunette. Her eyes didn't remain on him for long though as she felt a sharp pain in her hip. Serenity's hand swatter at the culprit, flinging the silver fork across the room. L's hand remained where it was, as if the fork was still in his hands. He blinked several times, not exactly wanting to look up and see how angry she was. It was very, very hard for Serenity not to slap his a** out of his chair. But for the sake of appearances, she remained calm. If that was how he was going to get her attention from now on, she was going to start hiding dead animals in his room.

Subject454.Nate's blue eyes watched everything whiz by on the screen. Every new window making him nearly pee himself with excitement. Nate was a "speed reader gone mad". You name it, he's read it. He's not beyond reading children's books either. The guy loved Dr. Seuss for whatever god forsaken reason. He listened to exactly what Light was saying, about their records being "too clean". He almost wanted to whisper "One should talk" to his buddy standing beside him, but didn't want to risk Light hearing it. Though it was probably no secret that his file was spotless. Even Serenity's file wasn't that squeaky. Hell, Serenity had violent outbreaks for half of her file. Not that it was a bad thing? Well, she had every reason to freak out. They all did... Either way, Nate waited for the go ahead. Serenity sighed softly and shut her eyes, listening to the clicking of each window opening and Light's fingers tapping away at the keys. "Is this what we've been reduced to? Two-bit terrors...? Nate, find these hackers. I want to chat with them." She opened her eyes to see Nate practically drooling. He lived for this. "All of them, Major?" Lucas laughed. Was he dumb? Asking such a question. "Lucas" was all she said as she turned around. A loud smack sounded through the room. Matsuda jumped, having seen the violent wail against the back of the blue-haired man's head. Ouch.

Subject454. "And check up on these normal people too. I wanna know why they have access to this crap in the first place." Her eyes remained firm, unwavering. She heard a strange grumble from behind her. That damned creature gave her chills. He just loomed around her like death itself. Damn close to looking like the grim reaper too. When he spoke, the bandages around his mouth moved to reveal needle-like teeth. No lips. No gums. Just needles. God did she hate needles. Shivering at the thought, she refused to give the being any attention. Sometimes it was best to ignore the existence of things. Like the boogeyman, Mary the Witch, or nanotechnology. The Shinigami seemed displeased. But with what?

Subject454.Serenity couldn't prevent the pout that possessed her lips. Light was leaving when they had just gotten started. Soichiro let out a heavy sigh to his son, but nodded. "I'll be home tonight for dinner this time." he assured his son. Sometimes he just got so overworked that he just came home and went to sleep. Sometimes he slept here. And other times he didn't sleep at all. Faded lavender eyes watched the scene unfold. So, they weren't such a happy family after all. Daddy rarely came home and Kira was getting all the attention. Kira wasn't an attention seeker though. Sure, he liked it, but did he strive for it? With all of the memorabilia on the market, it was hard to distinguish. But this gave her a little idea.

Subject454.Once everyone had said their goodbyes and Light finally left the room, Serenity leaned back. "...what do we have on this....Misa?" She asked, tilting her head back while looking over at Soichiro. Matsuda quickly looked up, furrowing his brows. "We ruled her out! She has no relevance to this case!" Aw, how cute. He liked the pop star. L tapped his fingers against his knees. "Her parents were killed in front of her. The criminal was caught, but the trials kept getting delayed...until Kira killed him." L's answer made Matsuda gulp. Of course it made Misa look guilty! The one who killed her parents was going to get off! She had seen the whole murder before her eyes! "B-but Misa-chan couldn't hurt a fly...!" he defended. Serenity shook her head. "When pushed to extremes...when pushed to a point of breaking...people can surprise you, Matsuda. If Misa felt her world was falling apart.. If Misa felt threatened that this criminal was going to hurt her? I don't have a doubt in my mind that she wouldn't have killed him." Her comment broke Matsuda's heart obviously. Her eyes lingered to the all-too quiet Soichiro, wondering why he hadn't spoken up. He was there when his son and Misa were cleared. Now for Light's girlfriend to be thrown under the buss again? Maybe this case was really draining the hell out of him. "Feeling the rush of killing a criminal, she'd have tried it again. SHe'd be getting justice for others like her. Yes...that makes sense. But Misa isn't the most..." "Intelligent?" Serenity interrupted, having already brought up her file on the screen. She laughed gently. Misa hadn't even gone to school! Probably for a few years until she realized she had "talent". The information made Serenity laugh. She couldn't be Kira. Not unless she was very good at hiding her IQ behind stupidity.

Subject454. "I'm giving you all the week off. Paid, of course." She spoke suddenly, completely out of the blue too. L looked up from eating some more sugary goodness. Before anyone could answer, Serenity had already walked to the door. "We won't be able to do much until I survey the school anyway. You all need a break. Go home. Spend time with your families. I'd think with someone like Kira around, you'd want to spend as much time with them as humanly possible..." Her voice trailed off for a minute, a sadness overcoming those all-work-no-play eyes of her's. If what she said wasn't a wakeup call to Soichiro, then she didn't know what else to do. He'd regret it when Kira killed either him, or maybe one of his precious little girls. Remember, he was under the impression that his son had been cleared of suspicion. Serenity wasn't so sure.

Subject454.▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇

Subject454. "...what the ******** is the purpose of sizes in Japan? Everyone is the same god damn size!!!" The shouting of a very angry female could be heard through the whole top floor of the hotel. Outside of her walk-in closet stood Nate and L. Nate because he was one of those straight guys who had a sense of fashion, and L because he was just too adorable with these things. "Calm down, Major! I'm sure it looks fiiiine! Come on out! Shakey-shakeeey!" Nate pumped his fist into the air, hooting annoyingly just to get her to come out and stop screaming.

Subject454.Out from the doors stepped the woman who always wore pants. The woman who would only show so much cleavage. What was she wearing? A school girl uniform that didn't fit right. She had to leave two buttons of the white dress shirt undone just so her breasts wouldn't break the damn thing. The skirt was alright, but a little shorter than intended. Blood dripped slowly down Nate's nose, his vision beginning to blur. "Major...will you marry me?" With one swift punch, Nate was knocked back on his a**. "I look like a god damn idiot!! What is the purpose of this?! Uniforms should consist of personally fit attire that isn't gender specific! This is...this is ridiculous!!" Serenity stormed back into her dressing room, the sound of breaking objects sounding through the door. L poked the door gently, puppydog eyes trying to peak through the blinds. "It really isn't that bad, Missy. You look very pretty. Its just that it's so...different. Please come back out." He pleaded, taking a few steps back. The woman emerged once again, fussing with the skirt. Around her neck was not only the black band she usually adorned, but also a necklace that a fallen teammate had given to her. It was of the snake wrapped around a cross with wings and a crown above the cross. It was pretty much the only Japanese thing she owned, and figured it would help her fit in. How many FullMetal Alchemist fans were there? Countless. Besides, it made her chest feel less bare. "I didn't even know you had legs." Nate admitted, dumbfounded.

Subject454.Serenity cursed under her breath. Nobody would ever let her live this down.

Subject454.It took Serenity forever to get the hell out of the damned hotel. Lucas gave her crap about her little uniform as well, and even the way her hair was styled. She had it in two loose pigtails that hung over her shoulder. It was simple and would keep people from yanking on her hair, but it also left her backside clear for all to see. Rather than simply walking to school that was maybe a few blocks away, Serenity decided to take the longer distance of stopping by the Yagami residence. She even came bearing gifts! All Serenity even had to say when young Sayu answered the door was "Is Light home?". Sayu gladly invited the stranger in where Serenity got to meet Light's mother. Soichiro definitely was surprised to see her, as he was sitting down in the kitchen having breakfast with his family for once.

Subject454. "You do know that the school is closer to the hotel than this...don't you?" Soichiro asked. Serenity chuckled. No, because she was completely inept and had no idea where she was going. Ask a stupid question... "I didn't want to fly into this blind, and I was up early enough anyway, so I figured I'd accompany Light to school. Is...that a problem?" Pink eyes stared through oval half-rimmed glasses. "Hm, not at all. Usually Misa is the one stopping by. Would you like some coffee?" Sachiko asked, smiling softly and offering up the pot of freshly ground coffee. Serenity tried not to wince. Coffee was a scent that made her almost want to vomit. It was a very strong scent to her sensitive nose, but she cringed politely? "Ahhahaa...no thank you, Mrs. Yagami. I'm more of a tea person." Sachiko nodded and put the pot back. Before she could ask why she was here, Serenity piped up. The scent was really starting to make her sick. "Thank you for everything, but I'm going to go outside and wait for Light. You have a lovely home." Serenity was all smiled and heartwarming glances today. It was somewhat different than what Soichiro has seen the other day, but he figured she was just being polite to his family.

Subject454.Once outside, Serenity placed her hand on her stomach, taking some slow breaths in and out. Once her stomach had calmed, she sighed. Today was going to be such a long day.

LightKira.T a l k i n g with Misa was always tiring, but after the day he'd just had it was good to be in bed finally. That night he hadn't taken out the Death Note, but he was sure that it gave off the same aura every time he looked at it, he could practically feel it through the hidden cubbyhole. Light closed his eyes and felt Ryuuk shimmer again into his bedroom. The creature loomed over Light's face and head like a bad case of the flu. "I can't get any apples right now Ryuuk, it's the middle of the night." His voice carried through out the room even if he didn't open his eyes to look at the Shinigami that floated totally indifferent above him. The Shinigami was silent, the cloud of dread still hung in the air as Ryuuk just stared at the Light's form, but as soon as it was there that feeling had already lifted from the room.

LightKira.'You have picked yourself a hard fight Light. This is just the beginning..' Hearing those words didn't put Light to rest at all, it just seemed to wake him even more. His auburn eyes opened just into to see the Shinigami fade away again, but this time the crimson of Shinigami Eyes caught this attention. Light again, as he had many times over this past year, thought of the Deal but the teen knew that that bargain wasn't something he was willing to risk. He would be cutting his life span in half and who knew when he was going to die, so no, that Deal wasn't even a plausible thought. Light turned around, ignored Ryuuk, and finally went to sleep.

                      ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

LightKira. It was a good thing that Light had his breakfast earlier before he took a shower, otherwise he would have been surprised at the unexpected guest that morning. While Light is usually more personal and discrete about his body and life, this morning he'd walked into his room with only his beige school pants on and a towel over his still wet hair. He mumbled to himself as he walked over to the window that looked over the street and the front of his house. What he saw surprised him and a flash of lavender told him what was coming, or rather who. Not really looking at the figure, but still knowing just who was coming up the street Light turned his back on the window. He shut the curtains a moment later. 'What could she possibly be doing here?' he asked himself. Light knew right away what the answer was, but not her reasoning behind it. Though his hair was still damp, he grabbed the shirt that hung over his computer chair and started the rest of his morning routine. After the buttons came the black tie, he made sure before he left to go down stairs that it was straight, he grabbed his outer jacket and bag then.

LightKira. As he walked down the steps he stopped short, just to listen to what they had to say, he told himself. Coffee. Chatting. Serenity. His family. Everything seemed almost normal except for the out of the ordinary girl sitting at the dinning room table as she talked to Light's parents as if she was on a hunt for a world class criminal. At this moment it looked like Kira was just at the back of her mind as she talked, but then she excused herself to go outside to wait for him. From the way that his mother and sister said their goodbye's, he could tell that they were already smitten with her. Light sighed and strolled into the kitchen and greeted his family. "Good morning Mom, Dad....Sayu." Light was going to treat his little sister as another case, he was always wary of her. Sayu huffed and stared him down with a small little smirk on her face. "Hmm. Well, well, well Light. You sure are popular with the ladies, you have Misa and yet this hot girl just knocks on the door this morning. 'Is Light home?' Oh yeah, she was real eager to see you Light." Sayu wasn't against mocking her older brother. He was handsome and the girls loved him, but he wasn't ever keen on bringing any girl home for any reason. It's not like their house or family was weird or anything...They were an authority home. One complete with cops, taking long cases and catching the bad guys. What was not to like?

LightKira.Light rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out at his little sister. It was a rare show of emotion and teasing that went through his home when he felt most secure.

LightKira.Just before Light could berate his sister his mother stepped up this time."Be nice Sayu. Yes Light, why doesn't that girl come over? I've never seen her before and you've never mentioned her before. She seems like a sweet girl to me, though maybe a bit odd." And there went the, 'Why don't you ever tell me anything?' speech that happened when Light did something to surprise her. What did alarm Light was that his father was standing in the middle of the kitchen and was drinking a steaming cup of black coffee, even though he'd said hello earlier it just now sunk in. So, he'd come home later yesterday night? What had convinced him of that? Did L say that they should take a break or did Light's father finally knock some sense into his justice filled head and stay with his family for more than an hour at a time? "Morning Dad, it's good to see you home. I'll tell you guys when I get home all about Serenity, but I have to get to school now. Bye Mom, Dad. Sayu." Before they could say anything else, Light was already out of the door and leaning against it.

LightKira.Light looked up and was shocked. The short skirt, the dress up shirt and her hair done up in a nice school girl fashion, it made Light....want to laugh. What started out as a chuckle turned into full blown laughter for Light, and Light didn't laugh much at all, at least not genuine. When he thought that Serenity might look at him weird or worse, hit him, it made his chuckles diminish. He didn't know what was so funny, but here he was bent over with his hands on his knees and tears almost coming out of his eyes. "I-I'm sorry Serenity. This is just...so not you. You don't look like the school girl type, not that I really have any say in the matter. From what you wore yesterday, it just seems that you go from tomboy to sexy and then back again." Auburn eyes looked up through lashes and they really saw her this time, Light didn't really register what he'd just said but it come back to him later that day for sure. Light wiped his eyes and smiled at her and held up his hands in a defensive gesture. "You look nice. Really. I'm sorry for acting like this, it usually isn't my nature." Light straightened his clothes and tie, and gestured towards the school that lay a couple of blocks from here. 'Shall we go?' it said. Before he let her smack him or something he started walking because as it was, Light was already running a little late. That also meant that Serenity might be late on her first day which wouldn't be such a good idea.

LightKira.Light still had a small smile on his face as he walked and he supposed that that would do for a little while. The smile was genuine and let her think that too because now Light had some thinking to do. The lavender was going to his school now, before he'd only had to worry about L for about a month and a half before Light was left to himself at school again. It would be made sure that his persona was up at all times now, he couldn't be the non-sociable top of the art student anymore. His last 'girlfriend' and Misa of course hadn't made it into the prestigious school that he now attended so they wouldn't be able to tell he acted any different at school, work, home or on a case. Light believed that he had put up a mask for about everything he did. The only time he was himself was in his own room, without even Ryuuk there as witness. Even then it was rare for Light to show his true emotion, but Light had suspected this when he first met Serenity not but twenty-four hours ago.

LightKira. This girl was going to be his undoing. How right he was.

Subject454.Serenity was caught off guard by...laughter. A vein nearly popped in her forehead. The pink haired female turned very slowly to see the young Yagami bent over in tears. Was this really so funny? She unconsciously blushed; not being completely aware of the red mark but her face did feel warm. Why did everyone think she couldn't wear dressy things? She could wear a dress or a skirt if she wanted to! Thing was, she didn't. She personally viewed them as "untactical". How could you fight if you were constantly worried about someone seeing your underwear? The life she lived, tight clothing worked best. It was form fitting and the cloth wouldn't get stuck to anything. What she was wearing now...well, the top was alright. It hugged her chest and midriff. But the skirt? Serenity crossed her arms, shut her eyes with agitation, and turned her head to the side. "Its not that hilarious, kid." Yea, calling him a kid was mocking, but he was full-blown laughing at her! He was lucky he hadn't been suplexed! When Light spoke, she couldn't help but grin. Her arms unfolded and she moved them behind her, her arms grasping at her elbows with her forearms straight across her back. "Wow. Light Yagami just said I'm sexy. I'm honored~" Serenity cooed before giving a very sarcastic courtesy. Not like she hadn't been gawked at before. It just never meant anything to her. She'd just shrug it off as something uneducated people did. But Light was no Marine recruit. He was a young Japanese boy, and a smart one at that. Should she be taking that as a compliment?

Subject454.When Light tried to avoid a beating by complimenting her, well, then it was her time to laugh. She chuckled gently, her smile almost taunting, "Nobody likes a kiss-a**, Yagami. I've killed people for less~" She grinned, winking in an almost seductive manor at the boy. Oh it was definite that she would get him back later. Serenity was a firm believer in revenge. Too many good people got hurt by scum and let it go. You know what happened to them? They regretted what happened for the rest of their lives. Serenity refused to live with regret. Aaaand it didn't hurt she had a reputation to live up to. So letting Light get away with laughing so hard at her for being forced to wear something? Unforgivable.

Subject454.Of course, Serenity began walking with Light to school. Serenity was naturally a fast walker, which she didn't think Light would have an issue with. Serenity had calculated the time already in her head. If they went a certain way through some back-alleys and whatnot, they'd be alright and have some time to get their things together before classes started. In the military, if you didn't keep up, you got left behind. You learned to keep up real fast. That and living in New York City, the fastest place in the world, you walked fast lest you want to be stabbed for not walking fast enough. She walked with her arms placed in a carefree manor above her head, her strange pink eyes counting the clouds in the sky over the rim of her glasses. The female didn't even have to look over to see that Light pretty much had that permanent smile on his face. "Don't you ever get tired of doing that?" she asked him, not even looking away from the clouds. She didn't give him time to answer, knowing full-well that he'd just ask 'what do you mean?'. She wasn't an invalid. It just so happened that she was a very good profiler, and pretty much had a degree in psychology.

Subject454. "Those people who you said had suspicious files yesterday... you're one of them. Your file literally put me to sleep. I get that you're smart, but really? Even I set fire to the mess hall when I was a Marine. You need to live a little, Light. You're a teenager. So, what, you just study, eat, sleep, and try to catch Kira in your spare time? Give me a break." Of course Serenity wasn't just going to tell him to stop faking his happy little exterior. He was pretending, and she could see it. Major couldn't see why, but she could see it nevertheless. Her feet skipped a bit, moving in a quick pattern until she was in front of him, walking backward with the utmost attention to her surroundings. "You're going to live a little if I have to die trying."

Subject454.Well, clearly she didn't actually mean she was going to die trying to do such a thing. That couldn't kill her, and what Light would soon realize is that neither could the Death Note. The littlest things she did could be seen as her suspicion that he was Kira, but those were just little seeds she was planting in his head. She wanted him worried. He needed to think about this obsessively.

Subject454.Serenity took Light off of his usual path to school, making him maneuver through back walkways and narrow streets. Serenity had spent all night thinking about her own plan of action. And she figured out what needed to be done. Major needed to let Light in. He needed to trust her. He needed to want her as an asset. So once they were about a block away from the school, she pulled a binder out of her military side bag and casually handed it to Light. "My file. I spent all night printing that sucker out, so you'd better enjoy reading it. This is for your eyes only, got it?" The question was rhetorical. Why was she handing him something so classified? "Lets be honest....cops tend to enjoy their authority. If they had any idea what I actually was? They'd feel threatened. Seeing as you only have an adorable fake badge, I figured it was alright for you to see. After all, I saw your skepticism. What can I say? I don't like people thinking I'm a liar." She told him, eyes straight ahead. The contents of the file were beyond gruesome. Stephen King or Rob Zombie couldn't have written anything nearly as sick. It was all dated, locked, and extremely detailed. The only thing that was left out were most of her medical files. It had the bullshit "blood type, name" blah blah, but that was it.

Subject454.Finally, once they were just outside of the school, she grabbed his arm to hold him back. With ease, she turned the boy around to face her. "I'm an exchange student from America and resident at your home. My father died in combat over in Iraq from an I.E.D and our parents were close friends. Nate worked semi-hard on this cover. So I trust you can keep it square, ay?" She grinned, giving his chest a nice little pat. Serenity certainly was full of surprises. Even the bubbly facade she proceeded to replace with her relaxed one was spot-on. Her eyes shut and a sweet smile replaced the previous one. "See you around, Light~" And with that, she had trotted off to go to the front office for her lame schedule and to complain about their uniforms only being for weird skinny Asians and how Racist it was. Of course they'd still tell her to deal with it, but it gave her an excuse to get the layout of the offices if she ran around like a truly upset teenager who didn't want people seeing her lovely rack.

LightKira.C l e a n ?More like spotless to the point of insanity. His record was clean, of anything that could possibly blemish it. Light didn't even think that he'd gotten so much as a detention or a bad remark on his record, even as a kid his grades were top mark and behavior was near impeccable. It seemed like to every one else that Light just needed some sort of life, but to himself he had one. He wasn't going to end up like of the people who never work and he was going to tell his children that it's always possible to work your hardest and still have a life. Kira was his life and Light had a mission set in his head to make one for every one else that needed it. Those who mistreated that one life they were given didn't need it, and so Light made spots for other bright children to be born into the world. Like his own children, though the thought of having little mini-Lights running around was enough to fear for his own life. Who would be Kira then? Certainly not Misa, and if he was ever going to have a successor of any kind he would have to make sure he chose the right person for the job. Not just anyone could be his heir anyway, just as not any ordinary person could succeed L.

LightKira. As Serenity gave Light the rest of her real file this time, he tucked it away later for safe keeping until he could properly look through it. There was definite reading material to look through that could just handle a simple glance at. It would be memorized and recorded by his own brain, not to be copied anywhere else, Light wasn't that stupid as to leave in somewhere someone else could find it even if he had a security lock on his computer. Since it was entrusted in his care, in his care it would stay and not even his father would look at it. Plus, if it did get loose or any one else read it, it would mean losing what little trust Serenity might have in him and right now that wouldn't be a good thing.

LightKira."Thank you, for such an important document Serenity." Okay, Light was a bit of a suck up when he wanted to be, but that didn't mean he wouldn't admit it. It could always be worked to it's advantage's he thought.

LightKira.Light watched as she was left to her own device's and her retelling the information detailing her cover story. Simple and easy enough for even Misa to memorize in a sleepy daze. Iraq and a semi-military background. It could explain her skills and knowledge of the arts in one go if she needed to ever reveal them. Keeping her out of trouble and out of the 'new girl' spotlight was going to be hard enough without her kicking some poor kid's a**. Light felt sorry for which ever student made her made on the first day though Light had a feeling that she was professional enough to keep a poker face. Light shouldered his bag as he felt it slipping and walked the short distance to the building of rooms 200 through 300, his first class was one of his favorite. English. He'd studied this language for years and Light was quite fluent in it, as well as German, thought the latter was just a hobby he'd taken up. Other language he'd dabble in, but wasn't quite as fluent or spoke without thinking. His fingers brushed the edge of his bag, the bag holding a folder that he thought he was going to have to wait a whole school day to even crack open! It was going to drive him over the wall if he couldn't lay eyes on the lavender's file till he got home! Why couldn't she have waiting till later to present to him, instead of teasing an information addict?

LightKira.Light could have ignored the bellow that came from behind him, the hyena voice that insisted on calling his name to clear the campus, but that would have just made his life harder. The brunette was tempted to just take a couple more steps and in doing so ignoring the animal and being safely inside his quiet classroom. He stayed. He turned. He was promptly run over by a frantic blonde. A collection of tears, snot and sniveling came pouring from Misa in one big heap and Light was the only one to take the brunt of it all. As the model came through the hallways doors and seemed hell bent on killing Light, the hall seemed eerie and devoid of people almost immediately. Cowards, he called them. Light turned his attention back to Misa who was now beating his chest with her small fists as if it would do any real damage. Light! Why didn't you wait for Misa-Misa this morning?! I went to your house and everything, and your parents had told me you left early with some other girl! Who is she and how could you?!" This is where Light could see how someone like Misa could go from dumb blonde to at least a self thinking person. She was smart in her own way sometimes and then it was like her brain just sort of...fried. Here she was worried about some other girl taking away her 'boyfriend' and the next she was killing that world's most famous criminals with the touch of a pen. Light realized that that's practically what he did on a daily basis, without the dumb blonde part of course, but Misa was too extreme sometimes. Her 'off' and 'on' switch had some glitches it needed to work out, Light could hardly work with her bi-polar personality.

LightKira.Light explained to Misa that he'd been with L and their new little 'friend'. Misa didn't really take the situation all that well, especially since Light would now have to company of another girl by his side. Light sighed and told her that class was starting and it was time for her to go, he wasn't about to deal with this problem so early in the morning, even his genius brain needed some rest and some worry free moments. "Good morning, Miss Fau." He greeted her in English just like she requested her students to do each morning as they walked through the door. It didn't matter how they greeted her, but they had to do so in the English language. Light was of course at the top of her class too; he greeted her in the language when he first stepped though the classroom doors on the first day.

LightKira."Good morning to you as well, Mr. Yagami. We won't be needing our text books today as we will be taking a test." Light was one of the students she didn't mind having full blown out English conversations with, and it was never bad to be as fluent as possible. They both nodded to the other and Light left to go sit in the back of the classroom by the window. Why did it seem like every hero of the story always picked this particular seat out of all the others?

Subject454.As Serenity walked away, she couldn't help but grin. Misa had been on their tails. Not directly behind them the whole time, but she could feel the model's presence towing softly behind them once they got on school grounds. Never did Serenity turn around to look at her competition for this young Kira's attention. She didn't have to. The lavender haired female knew that she would win this thing no matter what. If anything, she could always just attack what Misa held so dearly. Her fame. Japanese idols only had a life span of maybe two years at most if they didn't come out with good material; or if a hot new thing came out. So, god forbid conventional means didn't phase Ayame? Serenity would need to deal with things the old Mafia way. Take 'em out at the knees.

Subject454.First thing was first! A schedule. While Serenity was a very bright girl, she was a bit of a dumb-a** when it came to a few different things. Math. She was practically a chemist with all of her knowledge on chemistry. But normal algebraic equations? Forget it. Major had taken an aptitude test the night prior, so she was quiet excited to see where she ranked in this prestigious school. The adorable school girl sat with her legs crossed elegantly and her hands resting on her exposed knee cap. There were two younger students seated on the other side of the room. While she pretended to be in a completely different world than her own, she could hear them whispering. As if the blushes weren't clear on their prepubescent faces. How cute.

Subject454.A short, round woman walked out from behind a desk at the office with a file in her hands and a bunch of books under it. Serenity quickly stood up, giving a customary little bow to the older woman. A much lighter mood showered the operative than previously. Even her eyes seemed different. Her pupils were wider, pink iris' having a bit of sparkle to them. The woman was beyond cute. The glasses that hung low on her nose didn't help the adorable meter either. "Serenity Wolf?" The fat woman asked, pudgy cheeks a rosy red color. With a quick nod, Serenity smiled happily and cupped her hands in front of her. "Hai! Is there a problem?" she questioned with a slight tilt of her head. The office attendant laughed, "Oh, no! None at all. Just...not what I expected." The attendant looked Serenity over with eyes filled with disbelief. All Serenity could do was place carefully thought out blank gaze across her face. As if she didn't understand. Military kids generally didn't look like her; especially the women. The ones that came here, anyway. "You're all set. Enjoy." was all she said after that. Serenity was left there after she plopped the books and schedule down in her arms. So, this was how she was going to be? Well then, she would feel no remorse when she hacked into files from her desk. Smiling softly, the lavender haired girl placed the books inside her torn and beaten military green messenger bag and looked at her schedule with one leg bent.

Subject454.Her classes were fair, it seemed. She didn't have any language courses, however. That being because she already spoke languages fluently. Latin, German, Russian, Japanese, you name it, she could speak it. Even different dialects. The classes she did have, however, were a few P.E classes, English Writing, a lecture and public speaking course, one dumb math class, a little bit of Japanese History, and wait for it. Oh goody! She got to go to school all over again! Nate was probably laughing his skinny white a** off right about now... He wouldn't be laughing when he found out he was going to be doing her homework. Snickering at the thought, Serenity walked out of the front office and headed toward her first class, Japanese history. That was going to be fun. On the way to the class, she began really thinking about the persona she was going to use. She could play as herself, but that would merely get her in trouble all the time. She couldn't walk around acting like she was hot s**t. She also couldn't be getting into any fights. This female wasn't like anyone here. If she got in a fight, she played for keeps. What Light would soon come to understand was that it was a fight for survival, and Serenity was never one to give up. Once that first punch was thrown, that decided the fate. Serenity just prayed she could keep herself under control for just a little while.

Subject454.Well, the first half of the day went by without a hitch. Serenity had passed by Light several times in the hallway, yet she never acknowledged his presence. They had a few classes together too. P.E and the public speaking class. Those were pretty much bull s**t, but who cared. In "gym", at least Serenity could get a good stretch! So far, a sufficient amount of talk had been spread around the school. Oh, her favorite was the one where she was apparently a Playboy Bunny at one point! Seriously, these kids were pretty sick. Serenity probably had her own wall on the boy's bathroom stall already. Had she made it into the top ten girls yet? Who knew. Wait, she would later on~ That's right, she still planned on breaking in and checking the files and classrooms. The persona Serenity had picked? Of course, the cool, aloof, fun, sexy good girl type who you knew had to be a bad girl in secret. It was simple to play, and pretty close to who she already was.

Subject454.The most interesting part of her day had to be after lunch. Serenity left early to huck some books in her locker. Not like she couldn't carry the weight... She had to carry a two hundred and fifty pound rucksack for 4 miles every day as a Ranger. This was normal though. A few textbooks and a sore back, right? Either way! On her way to her locker, she heard the distinct sound of fists meeting bone. She hugged the wall. Right by her locker were three boys. One had fiery red messy hair and a tooth pick in his mouth. The other had usual straight black hair that fell every which way. It kind of reminded her of that angsty "ninja" from that lame anime Nate made her watch one time. Sasuke? Yea that guy. Nevertheless, the third boy was on the floor, his back against the metal with blood dripping from his mouth. "I-I'll get it to you...! I s-swear! Just give me a little more ti--!" he was quieted by a swift kick to the face. The one distributing the beatings seemed to be the red head. She remained quiet and listened to the rest. They hit him one last time just to hear him scream. "Oh, we know you will. If you don't? We're coming after your little brother. Got it? Good." He grinned before shoving his hands in his pocket, the black haired lacky following behind him. Serenity was quick to turn toward the poster board conveniently beside her. She grabbed one of the fliers and turned just in time to nearly bump into the red head. Serenity backed up a bit and blushed, rubbing the back of her head. "S-Sorry! I didn't see you c--" she tried to speak, but found the man's index finger pressed lightly over her pink lips. "Ey...for a pretty face like yours? Any time, Baby Doll." he winked, and she laughed, looking him over quickly. The man could only snicker and shove his hands back into his pockets. He motioned to his friend, who nodded and the two began walking down the hallway.

Subject454.Serenity turned to watch them leave, a harsh glare to her eyes. They sickened her. Even the way they smelt made her want to vomit. The red head smelt like cigarettes and scotch. Did he think that was attractive? He smelt like a Colombian Drug Lord. And that wasn't a good thing, at all. Knowing she didn't have any time to dawdle, the female turned on her heel and headed into the other hallway where the boy still sat, licking his wounds. "Hey." She called out to him in a calming tone, but her attempts not to spook him were for nigh. Before he could try to get up, Serenity had already knelt down in front of him with her hand pushing his face to the side to see the damage. "Who were those guys?" the female questioned. He quickly pulled away, nearly shoving Serenity back when he decided he was going to stand up and try to walk away. "It was nothing. None of your business. I have this under control."

Subject454.While most could simply walk away and wipe their hands of whatever this was, she couldn't. She would forever and always help people even if she couldn't walk. She was the type of person who would always find a way. "So these men have your little brother's life in their hands, and you're going to help him by being a dumb-a**?" She shouted down the hallway, forcing him to stop. Serenity stood up and turned to face him, pupils thinned and pink iris' strained. "Tell me who they are. Tell me what they want, and I can help you. Whatever it is you're planning on doing... it's not going to work." She informed him as he turned to face her, wiping the blood from his mouth onto a cloth he pulled from his bag. She had a feeling this wasn't his first bloody encounter. "And how the hell do you know?"

Subject454.A sigh passed her plump lips. Closing her eyes, she proceeded. "This isn't some small school bully issue. If it was, telling an adult wouldn't have been a problem and this would have blown over. If this was some small time crime, some assholes looking to make a quick buck... the police would have taken care of it. Which leads me to believe that this is much bigger than most could even fathom. Telling the police this would put your brother in more danger. These are people that you supply what you owe or the bodies drop. If I'm right, then tell me so I can help. Please." Serenity begged the boy, a kind of faith passing through her eyes. The boy could only sigh and grasp at his stomach. "It's...Yakuza.... I was stupid... got involved with things I shouldn't have. I doubt you could do anything for me unless you know people? I mean, I heard you're a military kid..." he started, but Serenity didn't want to keep this going any longer. So she just smiled. "I'll fix this. But this conversation? Never happened. You and I? Never seen each other." was all she said before she turned and walked to her locker. With a few quick spins of the dial, she cracked it open, shoved a few books in there, and uncrumpled the flier from her fist. Staring down at it, she smiled. Carefully, Serenity placed it back in her bag.

Subject454.The next destination for this strange woman was of course, P.E. She got dressed in the girl's room in their weird little white tank tops and red shorts, which obviously fit her snugly whereas for the other girls they were fairly baggy. With her new personality, she couldn't be as bothered about it as before. Either way, it didn't matter. She left the black band around her neck as well as her necklace. Nobody could make her take those off. And if they did? Lawsuit! Simple as that. Lucas made a badass attorney. Serenity walked out onto the field with a shorter Brunette girl who also had glasses. Maybe Serenity latched onto this one because she could relate... Her name was Luca, and she was a book worm. That wasn't how she connected with her though. People avoided Luca because she was different. Well, the paranormal seemed to flock to Serenity. Trotting onto the field, the two girls migrated over to the track where the female coach was with the other girls. The boys were clearly on the field in the middle, playing a little American Football. See, schools all over the world integrated the sport into their schools because it was a real physical activity. Soccer and Tennis were also played, but it was all on rotation.

Subject454.When the whistle blew, Serenity's mind went elsewhere as she left the group in the dust. Her long legs propelled her over the fences with ease while her years of hard training put her at an easy fast jogging pace. Here, she was left to her own thoughts. For some reason, they always lingered toward the boys that she watched so diligently. Why couldn't the boys play with the girls? That was how it was everywhere she went. Were females suddenly inferior? Could they not take the physical hit? That was bullshit. She couldn't do anything about it though... She was stuck running around on a dumb sandpaper track in a stupid circle. Serenity's eyes focused ahead of her, long locks of mauve hair flowing behind her in the wind as she had switched her hair into a pony tail. Her hair still held the curl, miraculously.

Subject454.Serenity finished her 3rd mile long before any of the other girls were even began their second mile. She hadn't even broken a sweat as she slowed to a stop and proceeded to check her pulse. The coach, jaw dropped, jogged over to the girl and had to give her a pat on the back. "You need to join track! That was...it was marvelous!" The coach couldn't stop thinking of words to describe the prowess she had just seen. Serenity waved her hands in front of herself defensively, laughing in a nervous manor. "I'll...I'll think about it, actually. I have a few club choices that I would like to check out first." Serenity smiled and nodded before waiting for her new friend Luca to come running by. Serenity sprinted toward her and took up the spot beside her, deciding to just trot beside her and cheer her on. After all, Luca wasn't the athletic type. Serenity made one fatal mistake... One thing she hadn't calculated. Boys. Serenity had glanced over at Light, apparently having looked a little too long or something? Luca now thought she liked him. Pah! That was ridiculous! Of course, Luca then commented on how he was already taken, and Serenity couldn't help but look at the boy. "...she doesn't deserve him." she slipped again. What the flying Jesus was wrong with her?! She was slipping all over the place! Luca gasped, almost falling over herself. "You like him!!" She shouted at the top of her lungs, making the mauve haired woman trip over her own two feet. "N-No! Would you shut up? Christ, Luca.." Serenity blushed, trying to hide it with her bangs cleverly. "Misa-Misa-chan isn't going to like it that someone else has the hots for her man~" she commented, smoothly leaping over a fence. Serenity glanced at her side, taking the same leap. "Tch, what is she going to do? Nag me to death? Come on, Luca. The girl's intelligence is questionable. Think about it. Why would someone like Light be with someone like her?" At this point, there was no point in caring about whoever heard their conversation. And seeing as the football field was only a few feet away, chances were young Kira could hear a good portion of it. "Well...she's pretty--" "No, she's average. She's just "pretty" because she has people do her hair and makeup every freakin day and has designer clothing. Besides, true beauty is inside, right? Yea, I believe in that s**t n' all... but it strikes me as odd that someone like Light would go for someone like that. She probably can't even hold a conversation. She's a freakin ditz! I'm not saying he'd be better off with me, but I mean...anyone else would do! It's a disgrace to women when idiot men pull that s**t. Ya know?" She interrupted Luca, but made a good point.

Subject454.Sooner or later, the whistle was blown and everyone had to go and change. Serenity was back in her cute little school girl uniform and her hair was back in it's cute little pigtails that were pulled in front of her body. She was one of the first dressed. Because she didn't work up a sweat, she didn't need to shower. Thus, she was already waiting outside for Light. And once he showed her his pretty face, she couldn't help but smile. Oh how fun this was going to be. "Got a minute?"

Subject454.The female pulled the tall boy off to the side of the school where a tall shady tree blocked the sun. And because most people didn't use the exit they were at, nobody would hear. Serenity explained the situation to Light in almost an excited manor. Once the normal information was out of the way, she folded her arms. "I'm sure you know how dangerous the Yakuza are. They're one of the longest living syndicates in the world. This is likely do to their numbers mainly consisting of stupid kids. We can't tell your father, or even L. That little b*****d will want to get his nose in everything and try to figure out who is behind it... that isn't what we need here." she stated, looking up at Light through her glasses. "I want you to get a taste of what I do. I want you to understand it. This will be very dangerous... These people will cut their own limbs off to make their leader happy. They have no issue with Kamekaze-ing our asses. You understand me? They. Will. Kill. You. Without hesitation. You won't be sitting in the safety of a room with armed guards or hovering in an armed aircraft. It will just be me, and you. So, do as I say, not as I do." Serenity genuinely wanted him to understand this. If he wanted to be a part of who and what she was, he needed to understand these things. She also needed him to be afraid of what she could do. Without fear, there would be nothing for his little killer brain to latch onto. Nothing for him to be interested in.
