Danny, was sleeping.

She had been sick with a sort of fire demon flu for about five days now. Danny had finally given up on staying awake, coughing her lungs out and sneezing enough fire to start a blaze in the rain. So she had just decided to fall asleep, snuggly in her bed, with little to no clothing on.

Gamyiel, however, was doing the exact opposite. The little treat had been running all around campus squeaking to whoever was listening. He was determind. On a mission. Searching.

Searching, for a doctor. A nurse. Heck, he would settle for someone to feed her soup (not that that would do any good). The little guardian treat had been squeaking to anyone who looked somewhat reliable- motherly types, intelligent types. So far, no one had really listened. A few had offered pets- which was nice, but not what he was looking for.

Suddenly though he bumped into a large, red clothed figure. Gamyiel didn't even look up, he just started squeaking and pointing towards Danny's dorm. He urgently tugged on the cloth of the thing, as if to say "come onnnn!" Maybe this one would get the picture?

Malodore had been out for a walk with Luce, the cwn puppy happily bouncing around, occasionally chasing a sad banana squirrel up a tree and phasing through the tree in the process. The plague doctor, for its part, was pondering aerodynamics, watching corrividii swoop through the air, and-

Luce spotted the Treat first, whirling and bouncing up to it, dropping into a play-bow and nudging it with her nose. "Ah, are you lost?" Malodore inquired, crouching down and holding one claw out to the little thing.

The treat stopped squeaking for a moment to examine this new object being put in it's face. It wasn't warm, like Danny's. It smelled ... well it didn't smell like Danny either. What was it?

Then Gamyiel remembered his mission. At least this one was smart enough to pay attention! Of course, he had that big ... barking ... creature with him, that was beginning to terrify the seeds out of him. He didn't back down though. Even if it meant risking being eaten by the barking dog, Danny was more important at the moment. After all, who's boobs would he sleep in if she was gone?

G continued squeaking and pointing towards the dorm, tugging on Malodore's cloak every few seconds. G's little eyes just screamed "go! go!!!!" It seemed incredibly urgent.

With another squeak, G took off towards the dorms in frustration. Danny was probably already dying (it wasn't that bad, he was overdramatizing it), and he wanted to be there when she gave her last breath.

If Malodore had been human, it would have dubbed the treat's action "Timmy's-fallen-down-the-well." As it was not, however, it merely looked in confusion, then followed after a moment, calling Luce to its side.

The little minipet was, apparently, headed for the demon dorms? Not unfamiliar territory for the plague doctor, but still. The treat had seemed so panicked that it was probably worth its time to investigate.

Finally a smart student who actually got it. Gamyiel definitely approved of this one. Not so much the giant dog who looked like he could squash the treat with a footstep, but the owner was at least tolerable.

G ran off squeaking to Danny's dorm just assuming that Maladore was following. Once there, the treat just bolted in the room- after all, Danny almost never locked her door. Doing so would just be pointless, there wasn't much anyone could do in her room that would really hurt her. Maybe smash her candles. Those were special. There was Ignis too, she would be pretty upset if he was gone. Other than that though, definitely nothing.

-

Noticing the disturbance in the room, Danny turned to the ball of squeaks that was now bolting through the door. G dashed up the side of the bed and onto her lap. He put her foot to his face like he was checking a pulse. G may not have been that smart, but he certainly cared. Danny giggled a little and then let out a cascade of sneezes and coughs, which sent G fleeing considering each one of them let out a little spark of fire.

"Oopsies," she croaked, "Sorry G." She sighed and flopped her head back on the pillow behind her. Being sick was so boring. Not to mention painful. Danny didn't exactly know how to care for herself though. She always had Rosalie before. Considering the facts, G was actually probably doing more for her than what she could do for herself.

Malodore followed the Treat up and in; it paused at Riley's door as Luce automatically made a beeline and pawed at said door. It could hear faint thumpings from the other side, and Luce bobbed into a play-bow. Ombra was in there, probably... but Riley didn't seem to be.

Well. Some company should be fine. It opened the door to Riley's room just enough to let Luce in. The cwn pup tumbled through the gap. A few minutes later, the sound of pounding paws thundered across the floor.

Yep. That'd keep her busy. It closed the door again, then kept going the direction the Treat had gone until it saw an open door and heard... coughing.

... Did even minipets know of its medical acuity now? It wasn't sure whether to be proud or vaguely embarrassed. It sidled up to the door and knocked on it tentatively. "Ah... did... did someone need medical attention?"

Danny looked up as an undead plague doctor started knocking on her door. She knew it was him because even though he was politely knocking on the door, it was still half open thanks to G, and she could see Malodore's beak sticking out.

Her first instinct was to shout "BIRDY!!!" and go take his hat, but her illness had actually made her rather weak. Instead, she settled for sitting up and then coughing up a storm. Unfortunately, Danny didn't even to think of turning away from Malodore for two reasons: one being that she was sick and too tired to think of how undead didn't like fire and two being that she probably wouldn't have remembered anyways.

She did at least remember that she was half naked. Well, not like she wasn't most of the time anyways. Either way, she grabbed her faithful coat out of decency and slung it over her back lazily.

Danny tilted her head for a moment. Medical attention? She wasn't bleeding. Was G hurt maybe? "Uhm ... I think I'm okay? You can come in if you wan-" she called out, but was cut off. Raising her voice hurt her throat and another chorus of flame-filled coughing filled the air. G looked at her with concern, but Danny was staring straight back at him with the same look.

Malodore was grateful that it hadn't actually entered the room; it flinched back automatically when the demon girl coughed fire. Oh. Oh dear.

... Well, it supposed if Jericho got an upper respiratory system infection, he might well start hacking fireballs too. It would just have to deal with it. And possibly look into some protective fireproofing charms.

"You don't sound 'okay'," it said, still standing in the doorway. "Your little pet led me here. I think."

Danny looked over at G who just stared back blankly at her. Of course he wouldn't get what he'd done by dragging another student to her room, but hey- he was a treat. What did she expect?

The fire ghoul turned back to Malodore and gave a weak smile. "He did? Well you can come in if you want," she started coughing and then finished with, "Though I uhh ... don't know if you want to."

With that energy spent she flopped her head back down onto the pillow. It was surprising actually, Malodore would be the first at school to see Danny with her hair down. She had been so tired that day that she hadn't even bothered to do it up in any way shape or form. Honestly, she probably looked like a mess. Well eat your heart out Malodore.

"It sounds like you have some sort of, ah, cold," Malodore said, still standing in the doorway. Truth be told, it didn't really want to come in; the fire was intimidating at a gut level, and the coughing made the bursts of flame horribly random. Any examination would place the plague doctor right in the path of the blaze, and dry bandages were very flammable, even if its coat was deliberately not.

"Have you asked for Nurse Cricket?" it asked, carefully.

Danny thought it was sort of odd that Malodore wasn't coming in, but then, a lot of people seemed reluctant to step in her room. Roch hadn't wanted to stay for more than thirty seconds until she actually cooled the room down to a comfortable human degree. Unfortunately, Danny couldn't give Malodore the same treatment- getting up and walking made her a bit dizzy.

"A ... cold?" she questioned. That was odd. "You don't ... get a cold ... you are cold. Like you can't really have it. I seem to be cold a lot now that I've come to Ami-" She started coughing again, but this time only little sparks flew out. It seemed her coughs varied in flame pressure. Well that was odd too.

At the mention of the nurse, Danny grabbed her covers and pulled them a little closer. Though Danny mocked Roch and Bul for being afraid of Nurse Cricket, Danny was actually a bit weirded out by the lady herself. It was an admirable trait, to be scary, but it didn't make interacting with Cricket any easier.

"Um... no," she said flatly, "I haven't called the nurse. She kind of scares me." That was Danny for you. Never one to hide what she was really thinking.

Malodore signed. "An upper respiratory system infection," it said, instead, though if she didn't comprehend cold that probably wasn't going to help. "You need medicine of some sort, before you set m- ah, the building. On fire. And other things. On fire."

... Was there a diplomatic way to say and I don't want to get close to you in case you set ME on fire? Probably not.

"An upper respuratory system ninfection," Danny repeated proudly. She had one of those. It was all hers. Danny liked having this trophy, even if she didn't know what it was. The ninfection was a very prestigious award, at least she assumed. Danny threw a glance to her shelf with her student council dolls. She was going to need more shelf space!

Danny looked up at Malodore with wide curious eyes. "Why do I need medicene? I have a trophy!" Did we mention she was proud of her "ninfection?"

Oh no, now he was scolding her. Did he somehow find out about the bush she had burned down when hiding from Roch? Or maybe it was the tree she had burned down the other week. Wait no, a gnome came and yelled at her for that one. They wouldn't send someone twice for that kind of thing, would they?

Danny sent a wayward glance at G. This was all his fault. The stupid treat brought a very odd looking gnome to yell at her about burning down things. It wasn't her fault the campus was so gosh darn flammable!

... She was a moron. That was really the only explanation at this point, unless the illness had made her delusional. Malodore resisted the urge to rub its temples to ward off the inevitable oncoming headache. It could usually handle dumb - Gargantuan was pretty dumb, after all, but he was also kind and friendly and highly unlikely to set it on fire.

So far the only traits it had observed here were a.) dumb and b.) highly likely to set it on fire, and that was not a happy combination at all. "I'll let Nurse Cricket know about your ailment," it said, finally. The nurse would know what to do. And, as far as it knew, ghosts couldn't be set on fire.

Danny sat up involuntarily. "Please don't get Cricket! Birdy, she'll eat me," she pleaded. Cricket really would too, Danny knew for a fact. She had eaten a student! Bul even! (Bul was really big, he didn't really seem edible...).

She had pulled the covers all the way around her now, like an eskimo. After sitting up, she had gotten the chills all over again, but now that she had pulled the blankets up, she was feeling way too hot. Too hot was an unusual feeling. She hadn't felt it since she'd been at home- and even that temperature didn't normally bother her. It was probably because this time the heat wasn't coming from the outside of her; the warmth was coming from inside her, and she didn't know how to get it out.

Why was Malodore so reluctant to come in anyways. She had the lava fountain turned off, and her flaming tail was under the cover. She couldn't easily light him on fire from a good couple of feet. Danny looked back up at the birdy. Bandages? Bloody ones?

He was undead.

The kushis spinning the gears in Danny's head finally started running and making things click. Danny pulled up the covers over her mouth (they were flame retardant after all) and said, "I promise not to spit flame at your or anything, really really really promise forever and ever if you don't call Cricket please oh Jack." It was a tad muffled under the blanket, but her desperate tone was audible.

She really didn't want to see Cricket.
