The things she rehttp://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/posting.php?mode=edit&p=313084737membered from before her corruption were disjointed. She recalled the things she had done, atleast to a vague extent.. awakening senshi.. actively pushing them to train and fight..participating in small meetings. But the memories were so hazy it was hard to comprehend them as real sometimes. Faces were obscured in shadows that she couldn't illuminate no matter how hard she tried.

And the frusteration of it all, along with her lack of luck at finding any of her new senshi to speak with had annoyed the cat to the point that she gave up for the day. Instead meandering through the negaspace in boredom, taking in the sights of the more frequent members of the negaverse. The knight like figures that were so very different from the senshi she was used to. All the more intruiging in her mind.

Watching a captain disappear with a small group of subordinates, she continued on her path, tiny feet practically silent on the ground.

It was somewhat odd to wander through the Negaspace. The architecture was different from the modern buildings she was accustomed to seeing on a daily basis. Furthermore, the interior of the entire place was quite dark, illuminated only through torches or other small sources of light that was a far cry from light bulbs and flashlights. It was also intimidated Fukalite, to be forced to brush past her superiors as they passed one another in the hallways. That was why the lieutenant made it a point to hastily move from her starting point to her assigned captain’s office to hand in her energy quota. She wanted to exit the Negaspace as quickly as she could—as much as she was beginning to assimilate, it would still take her a little while more until she would become completely used to everything.

She was on her way to deliver her collected energy when she noticed a cat strolling through the hallways ahead of her. Strange. Why was an animal in the Negaspace? How curious. Fukalite began to pick up the pace and once within distance she gently called out, “Well, hello there.” She kneeled down to attempt to pick the feline up into her arms.

"Hello" She purred back to the woman in response, her tail flicking gently back and forth, as her eyes turned back to greet the voice. Her few days in the negaspace had stolen her ability to tell the time, uncertain of what time of day it was to give the more lovely 'Good evening' or 'good morning'.

Unlike some others guardian's Dahlia hardly minded the intent to lift her, and even arched her back to make the task of grabbing her a little easier. As long as the woman wasn't a moron pulling hair or squeezing her too tight, then being held was a delight. Especially if it was accompanied by some nice petting or ear scratching.

Her eyes widened a fraction of a second as she realized the fact that the cat had spoken back to her. Fukalite was tempted to ask the creature why it could talk, but her mind hastily drudged up bits of information that reminded the girl that this was no ordinary cats. Normal animals would not be let into the negaspace, after all—this was a corrupted guardian cat. She relaxed—she had grown used to recovering quickly from small trifles like this—and gently carried Dahlia into her lap as she scooted to sit against one of the walls.

“Well, aren’t you a lovely cat?” She smiled and began to delicately scratch behind her ears. “I’m Fukalite, what about you?”

A few notes of laughter caught in her throat as she noticed that soft look of surprise that often accompanied someone who was meeting a guardian for the first time. Fukalite however got over it impressively quickly, not demanding explaination or jumping back as if she were diseased. But instead accepting it and dragging her off to a corner to better give attention to her. It was a very nice surprise.

"That's what I'm told" She purred playfully to the compliment, smiling as best a cat could manage with her kitty maw.

Dual colored eyes inspected the girl for a moment before she leaned her head into the soft affection at her ear, her paws slowly beginning to knead the girl's lap in pleasure. Claws thankfully tucked carefully away. "I'm Dahlia and you are..." She paused a moment, accessing the girl's energy before she hazarded a guess. "A Lieutenant, yes?"

"What are you doing here, hmmm?" Her words were light and curious. She had figured out fairly quickly that most did not actually.. live here, so there must have been a reason, right?

“Only because they are speaking the truth.” The cat turned around, letting Fukalite get a closer look at her heterochromatic eyes. Heterochromia was a rare condition that people usually did not see on a daily basis—even in an animal, she figured the trait was rare and not often inherited. “You have lovely eyes. Has anyone told you that? They’re very unique.” She smiled and continued to scratch behind Dahlia’s ears. “Oh, yes, I’m a lieutenant.” Her next instinct was to compliment the cat on her correct guess, but Fukalite that gauging energy signatures was a basic skill rather than logical deduction or fateful guesses.

“Well, I was on my way to turn in my energy quota to my captain, but a certain beautiful feline caught my attention. I couldn’t resist.” She grinned teasingly as her fingers slowly went from behind Dahlia’s ears and began to stroke the feline’s back. “I can’t keep pets. School doesn’t all them and my parents think we don’t have the time to properly care for one.”

Ahhhh, obviously another individual with a silver tongue. It was something Dahlia was sometimes weary of.. they were harder to manipulate.. better liars in return.. but at the same time... what she was speaking right now WAS the truth after all?

"I am definately one of a kind" She purred in soft amusement and pleasure to the many compliments. An uncommon breed, rare eyes, and certainly a 'unique' personality.

Her head leaned towards the ear scratching, and when the girl switched towards her back, she sat still, happily enjoying the affections being showered on her. Dahlia was more concerned with the loving then actually listening, but she picked up the information nonetheless, laughing a little. "You're not running close to a deadline are you? I wouldn't want such a valuable new friend to get in trouble just because of me."

"That's unfortunate" She regarded the bit of information mildly, before offering a bit of teasing of her own. "I certainly wouldn't mind playing the part from time to time though" It might cost Fukalite some kitty treats down the line, but wasn't that part of the joy of having a pet? Buying them lots of nice things.

Fukalite held back an amused chuckle. The typical response was something along the lines of “No, not really” or “You’re just exaggerating”—either from low self-esteem or an attempt to be modest, or even a combination of the two. It was somewhat rare for someone to actually agree with her compliment. Maybe she should have noted that it probably meant Dahlia exuded confidence in buckets, but she was more or less amused with the reply.

“Don’t worry. I’m punctual when it comes to my duties.” She always arrived on time for rehearsal and performances. She left home early to head for a party or meet up with her friends. It was her duty. Unfortunately, school was not exactly a duty—but her parents were slowly rectifying that, ever so slowly.

Her eyes genuinely lit up at the proposition. “I would certainly enjoy that. I like to think that my house is fairly large and comfortable. I’m sure it’ll be to your liking.” Grinning, Fukalite continued to stroke the cat’s back. “It would be nice—to have a cat to pamper from time to time. Animals are lovely beings, after all.”

"Indeed, and animals that can talk back are all the more exciting. Well.. unless they've got too much attitude." She winked a little playfully.

"This place is very drab" She complained with a mild sigh. Nice and safe, yes. A good place to hunt down and meet members of the negaverse, definately. But homey? Not for someone who wasn't a youma or something. Not for someone so accustom to lovely, beautiful, comfortable things.

"I'm sure your place will be quite an improvement. And I can keep hidden when I visit so your parents won't throw a fit" She recalled in the back of her head doing the same thing before... with what must have been senshi. It was fuzzy the idea.. but the feeling was comfortable. To have so many places to go and travel between when she needed or wanted.

"I'm very new to this" She admitted after a moment, her head cocking curiously to the side. "What kind of duties do the nonsenshi members have? How do you gather energy?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 25, 2011 10:15 pm

Fukalite quietly laughed. “I admit that too much attitude can be quite a handful at times. Having just the right amount can be difficult to procure, I suppose.” She faked a baffle shrug.

Another laugh escaped her lips at Dahlia’s complaint. “Given the negaverse’s structure, I’m hardly surprised. It’s very militaristic and Spartan, quite unforgiving if one cannot adapt to the system.” Her mouth curled into a smile. “I’m quite fortunate that I’m the adaptable type, though I can’t say I’m completely comfortable with everything here.” The thought of ripping out a starseed plagued her mind.

“Oh, that’s quite true. Perhaps I should take you to my home, after all.” Her eyes seemed to glitter like a child about to open a Christmas present. “That’s not a problem either, hun. I’m a bit new to this game myself.” Fukalite’s hand continued to move up and down the cat’s back, even as the girl leaned her head back and closed her eyes.

“We mainly just gather energy and fight other senshi while we go around the city collecting energy. We’re also required to train in the Rift. Energy is collected by touching your target and concentrating on dragging out their energy. It becomes a ball that you have to be very careful with. It’s delicate.”

Fukalite was speaking her language, preaching to the choir so to say. It was very true.. sometimes the attitude had to be toned down for certain situations. Things you wanted to say had to stay locked up just in the mind instead of letting them go right away.

At Fukalite's comment about adaptability she could only nod her head forward in soft agreement. It was always smartest to adapt and stay under the radar in the beginning. Ecspecially if the negaverse was as strict as she was letting on. Once you had a true insight on what was going on.. then you had the power to do what you wanted. "Very wise observation." She complimented mildly.

Her back arched a little into the pettings now and then as Fukalite's back continued to trail down her back, and Dahlia collected the information with soft interest. Energy collection was their game apparently. Something that she was sure fed something else. Was there a set amount they were working towards, that once reached would power something that would give them the upperhand? Or was it an infinite amount just constantly in need? It was a question better left for another time and perhaps someone that had been around longer.

"Training and collection with quotas.. It seems the negaverse is far more organized then the other side." She could not necessarily remember 'plans'.. had there been any? Or direct details from the past. But there was a definate feeling of.. running about like a chicken without a head, grasping a straws. A frusterating feeling for someone like Dahlia who liked to be in control.

Truely she was glad she'd been brought to this side. Who didn't want to be on the winning side? The side that actually seemed to have their pieces put together.

"And what about for fun? What do you do when you aren't fufilling your duties?" She asked out of curiousity. The other girl didn't have to answer if she didn't want to of course.. but it didn't really dawn on the cat that they might be cautious of their identities.

“Thank you.” It was rather odd to be complimented by a cat, but a compliment was a compliment, and what kind of person didn’t enjoy receiving some praise every once in a while. Fukalite considered it especially rare to receive praise about being wise or observant. Although she certainly had the rough skills to be the kind of agent that utilized keen perception and careful decision-making, she had spent far too many years following whatever whim or thought popped into her mind. She had always known about that facet of herself, but had never bothered to actively change it. Not until now. Now, Fukalite was beginning to realize that being her usual brash self wouldn’t always be so handy.

“Are they now?” She quirked an eyebrow at Dahlia’s statement. Obviously, Fukalite had never been a senshi—never would be, and she was quite glad. She had seen the ridiculous outfits the senshi were forced to don and run around in. They were colorful and usually uncomfortable to fight in. It was preposterous and baffling. The rambunctious senshi were a far cry from the dark, stringent society of the negaverse. “Well, I’ll admit I don’t like complete hard asses, but some organization and some form of strategy is quite useful, especially for this little war we seem to be having at the moment.”

“Ah. Yes. For fun.” The girl closed her eyes as she steadily continued to gently stroke Dahlia’s back and scratch behind the feline’s ears. “Just being a good ol’ citizen and do the things I like to do. Theater stuff. Biking. Parties. Stuff like that.” She answered vaguely, but if the guardian cat pried Fukalite wouldn’t refuse to elaborate. As long as she did not divulge her full civilian identity it would be fine.

"There are always extremes to everything, and hardly are those any good or fun to deal with." She mused with a soft laugh at the girl's mentioning of 'hard a**' negaversian.

Theater didn't surprise her at all. Perhaps it was were the other girl had gotten her tongue from.. how she maintained such a cool and collect demeanor. Whether she felt it or not she could be acting as if she did, and the creamy cat certainly respected that.

Biking she didn't have much thought on. Parties though... it sounded as if Fukalite was indeed a fun girl. Dahlia was pleased to have met someone who she thought she'd get along with so well. Someone who wasn't such well.. a stick in the mud.

"Sounds fun" She purred approvingly. "Dedicated and driven people often forget that it's important to have some fun and joy in life. It's good to see they haven't stamped all the life out of everyone during training." She was teasing of course, her tail swaying playfully back and forth, her blue eye winking softly.

It would be a blasphemous lie to say that Fukalite had never been scared or panicked, but she supposed she had a head cooler than most. Even when fear mercilessly grasped her heart, she figured she would still maintain a tranquil façade. She was an actress. Putting on a mask despite the adversity was a skill she had gained over the years.

She smirked. “I’m sure there are a few others with a similar mindset to mine.” The negaverse would be too much of a dreary place to be in otherwise, but perhaps its Spartan ways would benefit her. As far as she could recall, Fukalite only dedicated herself to theater and biking and magic. Friendships were quite loose and casual, save for a few long standing relationships—a certain friend-slash-fellow-lieutenant flashed in her mind. She was not driven, not particularly. She was focused more on the present than on the future. She had no specific goal in mind, but perhaps being here would help her find one.

“Training. Don’t remind me.” She crinkled her face as a rush of unpleasant experiences and memories plagued her thoughts. Grimacing, Fukalite slowly reached for the back of her shoulders, imagining past aches. “And I have to go through it so many times…”

"Ha, is it that bad?" She laughed, watching the other girl's reaction with soft amusement. Her tail swished, her whiskers scrunching as she tried to imagine it herself.

"I suppose they probably are a bit on the harsh side around here? Not a big fan of hand holding or coddling."

It was to be expected really.. but it didn't mean it was right or the best option. Maybe someday she'd think of something nice enough to reward those who did well with. For now though.. kind words and a bit of ego stroking was all she had in her bag of tricks.
