It was strange how the fog stopped feeling so suffocating. How the old and broken buildings of Shady Hollow seemed more and more alive to her now that she looked at them. A change in perspective had this strange way of changing things when they were looked at with fresh eyes. Well, her eyes were probably the same. She was relatively sure they hadn't magically changed when Decebal had 'fixed' her face. The notion had her scratching the staples in her face.
But she was pretty sure her eyes were still her eyes, more or less.
There was a momentary pause as Shehk looked into the fading amounts of fog. An idea struck her and she ran over to the one building she knew would still have someone in it; that grouchy old bartender! A quick inquiry left her with a jar before she ran back to gather up a jarful of the living fog in it. She secured the top of it carefully and made a hopeful face at the contents.
She was taking this home with her if she could help it.
Hati and Skoll watched her carefully, running along on their Alpha's tails with a curious keen. But once she'd done that one small task, she picked up her suitcase again and went running back towards that train station, her tail wagging behind her. The faintest glow of blue was left in her wake as she ran.
Her ears could hear the shrill of the train that was approaching.
She needed to be ON that platform when it arrived if she was going to get on! If she hadn't had to carry her suitcase, she probably could have made it about three minutes faster than she'd ended up making it in. But as the train pulled up, the pricolici stumbled onto the foggy platform, laughing and panting. Hati and Skoll caught their breath next to her, tails wagging.
"Alright guys." she beamed. "We're almost home free, eh?" she laughed before she straightened herself up and waited for the train to settle. She was as ready to go as she could have ever been.

How Shehk had survived a week on a train was beyond Sammy. All around the car were books, snacks, and other assorted things to keep Sammy busy. Summer break had been... interesting to say the least with the whole Floresctival. None the less as the train rolled closer to that alst stop and a smile couldn't help but find it's way to Sammy's face.
Ixxy was curled up in her arms the whole time looking up every once in a while to yip and chirp at Sammy, the poor mini along with Sola had been dragged along to keep Sammy company. Sammy was sure the same was why Shehk had brought her own pets.
Slowly the train would begin crawling to a stop, Sammy and Ixxy pressed to the window looking around for signs of Shehk, finally she would spot her, panting and laughing with Hati and Skoll beside her. If her heat could beat it would have fluttered. Stumbling from the car, she left Ixxy deposited on a seat and again staring out the window yipping happily.
When the train finally stopped and the doors opened Shehk would be in for the surprise of a lifetime, standing on the foot of the steps was a grinning face she hadn't seen since she stepped foot on the same train to come out here.
Without another word Sammy hopped down to the platform running over to scoop Shehk up in the biggest hug she could possibly manage with a happy sigh before finally speaking.
"I promised I'd be here. You really think I would break that? Besides. What if they tried to keep you? I'd've had to wait for the next train out to save your tail."
It felt good to see Shehk again, she missed her more then she wanted to admit deep down.

The train stopped, letting out a hiss of steam and a small screech of the wheels against the tracks. It was sort of a relieving noise to say the least. The doors opened, and the-
!!!!!!!!!!!
All hackles went up in a brief reaction to someone SUDDENLY COMING AT HER. Skoll and Hati had reacted in a similar reaction to Shehk's near-growl before she seemed to realize that, No... someone had not just come running off of the train to assault her when she was almost home free. But her eyes had begun to glow ominously, a trait that hadn't shut off even when she seemed relieved. Shehk's tail didn't even wag (it did twitch oddly, however) as she hugged the zombie ghoul back in her biggest best squeeze she could manage.
"Sammy!" Shehk grinned at her best friend, seeming relieved by the familiar face. It may have been a good thing she hadn't actually mastered the 'maul in an instant' response Marianne had been working on with her.
The pricolici sighed into Sammy's shoulder, laughing a bit.
"You did promise!" Shehk said, laughing a bit. "You did indeed. I just didn't think you were crazy enough to want to suffer a train for two weeks!" she said in her own defense about her doubts. It was a valid one. "I mean, there isn't even interesting things to look at out the windows! And your butt gets sore after a day of sitting." At least, Shehk's had.
She laughed again.
"I don't know if they would actually try to keep me though!" she added. "Marianne seemed desperate to get rid of me. I don't know what she would have done if they'd had to keep me!" Shehk laughed again, before she paused and mumbled, "Well, besides try to kill me some more. She's good at that...." it was a momentarily grim tone in her voice.
"Not that she'd get very far now!" she grinned again. "Though we shouldn't stand here too long to chat about this! We have a week on a train and if we don't get on it soon you're stuck here for 10 weeks!"

The glowing eyes where different, actually a lot seemed different subtle things, but it deep down was still the same person she had always remembered with a few upgrades. No different then she was really. Swaying side to side she didn't want at all to let Shehk go.
"Yup it's me and I promised." She leaned back for a moment and grinned face to face with Shehk "I would never break a promise with you Shehk you should know that." She grinned shrugging her shoulders, "Sure it was boring but I brought Sola and Ixxy to keep me company of course." She paused for a moment cocking her head, "I brought blankets and pillows, I usually sit on them during the day. Curl up on them at night."
When Shehk mentioned the one called Marianne the other ghoul would narrow her eyes. "Enough of her and them. Or any mentions of hurting you. If you keep bringing it up I'll have half a mind to stay here for ten weeks to give her piece of my mind to remember...."
Letting Shehk go, she crouched down to grab a few bags nodding to the door. "Shall we Shehk? Home awaits and you're right, we would be left behind."

"I wouldn't recommend giving the Cleaner a piece of anything, for the record. She doesn't need you to 'give' her anything. She'll happily break you and take everything." Shehk laughed. "She's not all bad though. It's mostly tough love, m'dear." The pricolici kissed Sammy on the cheek without a thought to it, before looking own to Skoll and Hati. Hati got this really anxious look on her face, tail wagging.
The train made another hissing noise as it was preparing to leave. Shehk nearly spazzed out of Sammy's arm for it. "Yikes! We need to jump on quick or else Sola and Ixxy are forever alone!" she laughed, wiggling out of the zombie ghoul's arms to pick up her suitcase.
"Care to show me where we'll be sitting? Then I can regale you with grand tales of Cleaners and... Grinders..." she paused, her tone turning slightly sour and even...frightened by that word. Shehk spoke of Marianne like she was nothing compared to that singular word. 'Grinders'.
"Okay..maybe not that last one.... But we can compare notes on what has happened since I left... and.." she trailed down to look at Sammy's cargo pants, pointing at one of the pockets. "And why you have me sticking out of your pocket." She laughed a bit.

Sammy frowned ever so slightly at the suggestion of not giving anything to a cleaner. "I sure as hell don't think anyone can break me..." she mumbled under her breath, excluding dragon fire she had proven to be a fairly resilient ghoul over the first year of school. Chalk that up to already being dead. Her eyes widened for just a moment, it was only in passing but even as she mussed on the idea of picking a fight with someone she almost missed the fact that Shehk had just ever so casually kissed her on the cheek.
And that thought was interrupted in turn by Shehk flailing in her arms. "Oh shi-" Grabbing one of Shehk's bags she started booking for the door of the train, "You bet, but move move move!" As if Ixxy herself knew what was happening the small Scareon started yipping more at the window, both paws pressed to it as she yipped on in excietment. People! Moving! Yay noises~!
Stumbling along the train Sammy nudged their car door open with a foot, it was a bit bigger then the one Shehk had taken on her way down, let it be known Sammy did cough up a few extra seeds to ensure it was private for the two of them and had enough leg room to let them and the mini's relax as best one can being in a small box for a week.
"Cleaners? Grinders? You make them sound like Grue's with pre-determined devouring abilities." She frowned at the look of irritation on Shehk's face, this must have been one of the ones specifically that had gone to town on Shehk.
"Plenty to fill you in on, lord knows enough has happened to tell you about." She paused glancing down at mini-shehk in her pocket with a shrug. "I needed company on the train?"

With Sammy holding onto her bag, Shehk was free to herd Hati and Skoll onto the train (which took some urging. Alpha or not, the train made suspicious noises). The Pricolici ended up picking them both up and stepping on before the door closed behind her. Hati and Skoll did much better once they were on, following after Shehk as she ran to get back on Sammy's heels.
The cabin the pair were going to be riding in, it seemed, had much better space than the one Shehk had come to Shady Hollow in. She seemed to approve of the space, stretching out before practically throwing herself across one of the seats. Now all they had to do was not lose their minds for another week while sitting on the train-with-no-scenery.
The trip out hadn't been the most exciting for Shehk, but Sammy was sitting on it for two weeks straight. A crazy ghoul if she ever knew one, but a Best Friend was a Best Friend and they had to be a bit crazy sometimes!
Shehk shrugged.
"Let's not mention the latter ever again, Sammy. I...don't want to think about it." she shuddered, a light shake in her arms. "But Cleaners? Oh, Marianne is a nasty creature. More or less her task is to break things down into FEAR.... and they can fit a lot of things into that mouth of theirs. I'm pretty sure I'd fit in there whole if I tried."
Shehk paused, making a face.
"Not that I'd trust Marianne to let me in and out of there safely." Shehk sighed, fussing with her necklace and one of the rings on it, seeming thoughtful. "I guess I couldn't have left that place without some logical terrors in tact." She laughed a bit.
"But I'm certainly interested in hearing what I've missed. I know Junko was a dear and did some advertising for me for Public Relations while I was gone."

Stuffed in the small car Sammy sprawled out on her make shift bed on the one set of seats across from Shehk. Ixxy wasted no time hopping onto Sammy's stomach letting out a yip of delight before circling, and flopping down to watch Shehk with a delighted little tail thump.
Sola was of course happy to see both Hati and Skoll his tail thumping side to side as he barked at the older dogs. It was like being at home almost, if home was as big as a closet or something.
"Mouth? So like mouth on a head or are we talking some kinda demonic crazy monster with a mouth for a stomach like Claire but bigger?" She had seen the demoness in question, gluttony, on Groanspring, a bit simple of a girl, but she did have that mouth. She watched as Shehk reached to the necklace cocking her head ever so slightly. She would ask about those rings later.
"The first thing I would leave with is a reminder to never come all the way out here again, I came out this time sure. If you ever go back though? You better be half dead when you send for my help because I can't lie; this is the worst train ride ever." In all honesty it was one of her first few train rides, it left a horrible impression for all those that would follow.
"Yup yup, that's how I got some mini Shehk's also I spoke to Riley, in turn for helping her run for president I requested she help you and Junko for Vice and Relations in turn. When you get back you should look into talking with her to see what she has to say about that." Shifting slightly she tugged Ixxy into a hug while they spoke. "Honestly, I get the feeling Riley hates me though."

Shehk stretched out, watching Hati and Skoll as they both practically jumped onto Sola to sniff and investigate how their child had been faring. It seemed they both were pleased by how he was doing if nothing else, both of their tails wagging madly as they barked back.
It was amusing to watch as she sprawled across the bench on the opposite side of the cabin.
"Uhhhh...yes and yes. It depends on when you see her." she answered honestly, scratching the side of her head before elaborating. "In her sealed form she has it on her face too...." 'Too?', "practically from ear to ear. Rows and rows of sharp teeth. In her actual body?" Shehk shuddered a bit. "I don't know if she has organs in her body at all, but from...." she pressed her thumb to the base of her chin and dragged it down her body along the entire length of her necropsy incision, and ended at about her pelvic bone in the tracing, "Here to here, she cracks open into rows and rows of those teeth... and you need to realize in that body she's like..twice as tall as I am. She could fit both of us in there.. and possibly all of the minis as well.." she reached out to pet Hati, who seemed to whine in recognition of what Shehk was talking about.
"Hey now, you didn't have to come out here this time... and frankly I was half dead at a point there. I got close to death a couple of times." She scratched the staples in her face thoughtfully, her lips tightening just a bit, before she shrugged it off dismissively, Sammy continuing on with the discussion without a thought about it. Hmmm.
"Well, I think Riley is still sour we failed our exam. That's why I was pissed at you for a while. Because I was being a jealous cuntbag." she stretched out again and Skoll jumped up on her ribs, the pricolici 'OOMPH'ing in protest of being jumped on, shoving Skoll to a much more comfortable spot on the seat with her.
"Our exam was far from easy. There were only three of us and Hellma was not nice to us. Riley wasn't very enthusiastic about us still being Knobs when we woke up after getting decimated by a giant shadow-y mass. I wouldn't be surprised if she was bitter about not getting Hellma's emblem."
Shehk made a face.
"I'll confess I'm disappointed in not getting it myself."

Sola of course allowed both his parents to prod and sniff wagging his tail and crouching low as if ready to pounce and play. With Skoll gone he went with the only option pouncing on Hati happily barking with delight.
"When? So is it like a full moon shift to turn into some monster of a beast?" She paused letting Shehk continue. Suddenly some of the cockyness in Sammy's attitude seemed to ooze away. "Well... can't say I was expecting to learn something like that..." She followed Shehk's finger as it laid out the creatures mouth. "Yeah... that's... that's not pleasing, but what if you toss some fire into it or something? Wouldn't that work?"
Waving her hand Sammy dismissed the notion of not coming out. "I complain, but I complain because I love you Shehk, anything to get that tail of yours all puffed up in annoyance." She said with a playful grin.
Things turned however back to the situation, the damned pin and Riley's emotions. Ixxy of course took this moment to hop off Sammy tugging free the Shehk plush in her pocket to offer in her mouth to Shehk muring curiously at the full size version of the plush.
"Yeah, but you at least finally came to me and broke the silence instead of me hunting her out and then having her blow up over seeing the pin." She left out the part where she tried to use the pin as a reason to convince Riley to trade personal emblems. For a girl so obsessed with power, it was a bit annoying to be turned away like that. Still, it made sense why as Shehk spoke.
"Barth and Amrita had no quarrels waking up as Knobs lacking pins after our exam." She gave a slow shrug, "Exams aren't easy period, I don't even know if mine WAS an exam. When we got to the field a gnome came running buy and suddenly Jingleberry was there. And I mean the real one. He nearly killed us... that doesn't seem like an exam to me." She gestured to her side which still held two large scars from it. "West and I were given pins for still being standing when Jingleberry finally gave out. We both blacked out minutes later, when we woke up we were knobs with fancy emblems and the scars to show."
She frowned slightly, "At least didn't freak out and yell at me over it... damn thing at this rate isn't worth having with how much trouble its gotten me with friends. Never mind all the weird things he was saying during the fight..."

"No. I mean she wears something that seals up her natural body kind of like the skull does with skull pins." she answered about the 'shape shifting' bit, before Sammy had continued on. Shehk listened for a while, ears twitching, one hand scratching the staples on her abdomen. After a moment, she sighed.
"Frankly, you guys proved yourselves in a way quite different from how we were supposed to. What I learned about Riley and Calder in our exam is that they'll attack without ******** consulting anybody else about it." Shehk made a face. She might have been a bit bitter about that. "We were given -two- supplies. They went gung-ho, used them up, and then we were ******** before I even finished thinking about a course of action." Alas. "But it's not like it changes how things are now to have that happening." she stretched out and crossed her legs, one hand idly scratching Skoll's head.
Hati bounded about the cabin quite happily with Sola, barking and trying to summon Skoll down to play. Skoll huffed and barked back at her, seeming content where he was.
"I think it's really the principle of it all...." she paused, looking at Sammy with a puzzled face when she mentioned Jingleberry. She'd never actually met the guy, but she'd heard things about him, and it sounded like the Zombie ghoul's exam had been.. .. ...
interesting because of him. Hmmm.
She crossed one arm behind her head.
"Honestly, I'm going to be very careful about giving out emblems myself. Trading or not. I'm not ready to give them to anybody and when I do, it'll be for damn good reason. I'm actually happier knowing you didn't get that swap happening over something like me running for Public Relations. I have a speech I'm working on in here..." she paused, tapping on her head, "which I hope will win be forgiveness for not being able to open a booth or something, but it shouldn't take you trading your word for me to have Riley support me."
She dropped the hand she had behind her head and used it to gesture a bit as she spoke.
"I mean, I'm going to support who I'm going to support, booth or no. Riley should support who she is going to support, even if she didn't go about it in the same way Junko did. I will support those who have supported me, more or less."

"So they have magic pins out here too to keep everyone in order? Weird, I thought those only came from the school." She hadn't heard of such things existing outside the school, she had assumed only students wore them since they couldn't always control their natural form.
"Riley's not one to back away from a fight, but I'm kind of shocked she wouldn't stop and set up a plan. As for Calder he's.... not the best fighter to begin with so that doesn't surprise me at all that he would charge in like an idiot." She mussed at the thought of how he had try the same on her and found his face running straight into a wall. "I would have killed for a pill during our test, all the more reason to think it wasn't planned. No way they would send us to fight like that without some kind of aid." She hopped.
Sola meanwhile tumbled and growled happily at his mom, even joining in at yipping towards Skol, though when the older male declined he simply went back to barking at Hati instead. Simple pleasures of being a mini really.
Settling deeper into her row of seating Sammy wrapped her arms around Ixxy giving the Scareon a few light kisses to the top of her head. Clearly in thought about the whole exam. It wasn't a pleasing memory but it was important; some of the things that were said at least.
"Well the pin was something else really. Helping you in the election I wanted yes, but I also wanted that pin." She shifted sitting up now, arms wrapped around Ixxy. "Riley has a lot of sway in the student body so why wouldn't someone want her pin? And unlike some of the boils she has marked I won't let her simply have me owing her favours without having something like her pin to use back. It's the closest I can get to ever marking someone like a demon; getting their pin." She shrugged. "I figure she want's my help. I want her's. It's a fair deal." All the while ixxy wiggled happily in her masters lap letting out a bubbled yip.
"C'mon Shehk, show me the speech for me and the mini's we'll be your first test audience." She said with a grin, "As for support, Junko is behind you all the way, and I think Riley is as well regardless if she hates me still or not."

"Ehh, it wasn't really a pin.. it was a..." she motioned around her wrist a couple of times as she sat up. "A bracelet.. a charm bracelet." she explained. Though the idea of Marianne having any such 'girly' item was.... interesting. But none the less, she'd had it.
"Decebal had something similar. I guess it's from the school they went to? Or a communal gift from someone. I'm not sure." Shehk wouldn't have been surprised if she'd end up being gifted something similar in the future. Or something. She fussed with the skull pin on her chest. Funny how it hardly resembled the skull it used to anymore. When had that happened? She hadn't been paying attention, that much was for sure.
Never the less, Shehk stretched out, petting Skoll a few more times while Hati moved to settle on the floor of the cabin, her tail thumping against the wood. It seemed the initial excitement was dying down on her part. Shehk sighed again, reaching down to pat her head as well.
"Oh man. I'm so not ready to be giving any speech." the pricolici laughed, one hand idly playing with her hair. "I barely even know what I'd say in it. I mean, what do you say to people to get them to vote for you?
HI.
I'M PRETTY.
I HAVE CLEAVAGE.
YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME." Shehk paused, looking down at her shirt before she fussed with it. Yeah. There were boobs. There were totally boobs. Where had she been hiding them for a year? Somewhere magical, apparently. There was no doubt she was stapled shut anymore!
"Well, I guess my strong points are that I've been here.
I've been at school a long time. Longer than most students there now." She 'hummm'ed over this realization.

"Bracelet? I guess that works small and easy enough to ware as a charm to stop changing." She glanced at her own skull pin tilting her head, not much had changed but she never put much thought into why she wore one herself.
"They have a school out in that shanty town? What I could see from the window it barely looks like they would need a school. Really it looked abandoned; all of it."
Rolling about in her seat again she blew a puff of dead air on Ixxy's fin causing the little scareon to squeak in delight before cuddling closer to Sammy. Sola meanwhile settled with Hati scooting close to the older dog with a lazy dog yawn.
"Oh please, you'll do fine, you've faced and been through a lot worse right?" She shrugged her free shoulder lazily, "Tell them the truth and what they want to hear in properly mixed amounts I don't know?" She paused for a moment at the next comment, her eyes also witnessed the fussing of the top and quickly averted so as not to be accused of staring... too much.
"We've got a good number of people who've been there a while running for stuff, but you have been on more of our little... fieldtrips... if that's what they could be called."

"I didn't say there was a school out there. I just don't think they went to Amityville. We have so many students from all over travelling to just this one school it's just... ...
If there was a school in Shady Hollow, I doubt I'd be at Amityville." Shehk sighed, leaning back against her seat a bit and crossi-.. not crossing her legs. She nearly did, but then she made a pointed effort to not do so. She needed to not cross her legs while wearing a skirt. Not unless she wanted to be flashing her panties at her BFF.
Though Shehk knew Sammy wouldn't mind if she had.
"I guess you have a point though. I guess all I can do is emphasize my experience as part of the student body, how many people I know, and how open I am to communication....and try to downplay how nasty I was at Prom..."
She made a face.
"I really need to apologize to Christof for leaving him like that." She sighed, scratching the back of her head, then the back of Skoll's. Skoll seemed appreciative of it, while Hati groomed her pup appreciatively, her tail wagging. Good momma pup.
