From cheesy harlequin-like tales to poorly written crack-pairing smut, there is some really bad romance out there. Rather the words are flowery “And what young squire is love? But the prevention of loneliness in the dark, and the promise of a warm body to share ones bed with on cold winter nights?” Or just so bad they are funny "She was caught in his gaze like a deer in the highbeams of a two ton truck" All of us have suffered from B-rated romance stories before. Whether it was fanfiction, a publish novel, a movie, a videogame, or even a roleplay. We all know badly written romance when we see it. Normally, I wouldn't encourage members to write poorly. But I thought the chance to write really bad and cheesy romance would be fun. So I'm making a short story contest out of it. The rules/requirements are as followed: arrow Submissions must be at least two pages (typed-single spaced) but no more then ten pages long. arrow Story Content must not exceed PG-13. arrow Please for goodness sake, use spell check! arrow Submissions must be posted in this thread on the due date. arrow How this works:After all stories have been posted here in this thread, everyone will have a chance to read them. Afterwards, everyone will have a chance to vote for the story they think is the worse romance. (No Anna, you can't vote for yourself) Once voting comes to an end, I'll count up the votes, and reward the winner (or winners, depending on how many people do this) The Prize:TBA Submissions Due On:TBA

Haha, wow... I once wrote a cheesy romance short story, so this made me laugh. It was yuri, too... so of course it ended as just outright smut. razz

Jerohan It was yuri, too... so of course it ended as just outright smut. razz You know... that type of mind set is why yuri/shoujo-ai has such a bad rep.. and part of the reason why the yuri community here on gaia sucks when it comes to rping. I've written a number of lesbian stories that didnt have smut. For example, my bleach, Unohana x Isane fanfiction.... The Road To Love, has no sex, and when I lost my muse for it, it was about twenty chapters long.

Oh, I agree with you now. Just staing facts. After all, that story was written like nine, maybe ten years ago. So, in my defense, I was like fourteen or fifteen years old. And if you can show me a teenage boy who can write yuri without it turning into smut, and I'll show you a kid who prefers the company of his own gender. blaugh
Most of my stories now tend to have a huge focus on violence and war now. Unless I'm RPing and, therefore, interacting with another 'writer' so to speak, I'm no good with romance, yuri or otherwise. I'm not even that great at smut anymore. xd

I'll definitely be doing something for this. But what, I don't know. Coming up with one liners is easy - coming up with a whole story to work those one-liners into... not so much. I've never written romance, good or bad, in my life.

Anyways....the fact I draw nude women does not mean I'm drawing smut. Its actually been a while since I've drawn two nude women involved in some hanky-panky.

God I could never draw smut. Tried... always looked horrible. -_- And I haven't really drawn anything since high school since my muse decided to pack her s**t and leave the moment that diploma hit my hand.
