Just wondering, if there is a way to access the iTunes music store for Japan? I can preview the songs but I can't buy them. Do I have to be registered in Japan to do so?
And if it would work that way, I could just reinstall my iTunes and select Japan for the settings??? Or do you have to literally live in Japan? I really want to buy the new music I'm missing! I want to know if there's a way around it.... neutral

You know I tried using the address I stayed at in Japan and my credit card but it still won't work, the card has to be registered in Japan too, and I don't think it's easy for a gaijin to get a card over there (I don't think I'd want to, no minimum payments!). So I guess I'll just have to buy CDs again...

i heard AMEX doesn't have address security in place for transactions like that. i've got friends who spend money on japanese sites using their AMEX and use a totally bogus address... and it goes through just fine. all other major credit cards, though, have address verification.
although it could depend on the site... i don't know. and i'm sure eventually AMEX will catch on and realize they need to up their security.

Try Imesh, I've gotten "Come" by Namie Amuro, my sister got Dir en Grey from their myspace site AND I got L'Arc~en~Ciel's READY STEADY GO heart whee And they give artists an opportunity to get paid for it if they want.. That's how it is with Dir en Grey at least, you need a subscription for all theirs

What you should do is:
1) Go to J-list.com 2) Purchase an Japanese itunes music card, 3) Wait for it to come in the mail 4) download the Japanese music store 5) Use a fake or a friends Japanese address (you can even use J-list's if you want to. they even tell you that you can. 6) Download your music.
PM me if it works. That is what it said to do at j-list.com.
Have fun and good luck.

Considering that downloading music for free is considered ILLEGAL now, yes. We would like to pay for our music and be considered upstanding citizens of our respective nations. Plus, Limewire is spywear. Didn't you know that? It's bad to have on your computer because it likes to corrupt files and mess with your cpu, but it's basic function is to steal information on your computer. rolleyes But whatever floats your boat I suppose. stare

That's how limewire gets away with it. And I knew some one would appose but if you have some of the best spy/add ware and virus protection in teh bussiness then your fine. If you don't thenn you end up with a messed computer. ^ ^- Which I don't have. : P

That is why the leading music share engine Napster got in so much trouble and now has to have users paying for it's services. Even if you have the best spy/add wear and virus protection on your computer, you've already willingly downloaded said spywear onto your computer, meaning, your spywear and addwear were by passed and now are useless and probably virus protection isn't going to be up to be 100% either because it can corrupt it.

If you really like a band you should support them. On a side note, yes downloading files from limewire that you do not physically own is illegal. You know how they manage to be free? Because in that Terms of Service thing you agreed to probably without reading a word, you are agreeing only to download music that you already own on CD, or to delete the file from your computer after a certain number of days(usually 4-14), like a demo.

If you want to try something mabey a bit more exspensive but a bit safer. Buy MP3 rocket. It's about 80 bucks a month for unlimeted music downloading. I believe it's safer then llimewire at least that's what my dad said. You can download many artists from across the world. You may not always find the song you want but its usually up the next day or so.
