User Image It was the sort of night that not many chose to wander around in. The kind of night that kept even some senshi in and hiding. Had Dahlia known what was to come she too would have remained indoors, tucked away warm and dry.

The driving rain had come out of nowhere, ripping away all the sounds and scents of the city streets before replacing it with the heavy drum of moisture hitting the pavement. As the creamy white cat went from dry to drenched in literal moments she was left following nothing but the small tug of an energy signal. A senshi in need.

It was a familiar feeling and one that she was unable to ignore.

It was hard to think anything could be out in the weather however, but since she was already wet.. she continued on, feeling her body become weighed down as long hair soaked up the excess moisture.

She had began to slow, a heavy sigh escaping her as she paused to try and dechiper which way she should go.

Once she found that senshi she was going to pay for the inconveince. At the very least a warm fireplace and towel fluffing. At best perhaps she'd get some nice treats out of the deal too.

But first she had to find said senshi.

"You get the ******** back here, senshi !"

Fluorite knew very little about what was going on - Laurelite had teleported in front of her as she had been doing her rounds looking for lieutenants, and said they were gonna nab themselves a cat. Why her, the short captain had no idea. Perhaps... Because she'd witnessed a corruption before.

If she'd been able to deal with watching her own brother all but die and revive in front of her eyes, then she could handle a cat. Right ?

The plan had been quickly hatched, and now it was going in action - Fluorite threw a knife just as the 'senshi' turned the corner, and it missed, hitting the brick wall instead.

It probably helped that her aim was pretty bad, and that she used her knives as daggers most of the time. "Get back in here, im not done with you !" She was loathe to lay it on thick - unlike Dahila, she knew exactly what she was yelling at.

A flurry of mint-colored curls whisked around the corner a mere blink before Fluorite's first dagger clattered harmlessly against the wall. With her more precise form of energy detection when it came to senshi -- along with the unabashed shouting of her pursuer -- Dahlia would have no trouble at all deducing that the girl being chased was the senshi she was after.

If the Guardian were paying really close attention to the situation at hand, she might also notice that although it was indeed a Sailor Crystal she was detecting, something about it was a bit... odd. Not corrupted odd, and not unawakened odd, either; it was hard to catch her claw on what was so troublesome about it besides her instincts telling her that something was amiss.

However, the important was the fact that the girl bearing the Sailor Crystal was being chased, and Captain Flourite was closing in on her fast. If Dahlia didn't do something quickly, her senshi was bound to become a statistic soon enough!

Her tall ears flicked forward as the sound of yelling clued her into the direction she needed. The aggression in the tone, the pulse of chaotic energy, the word senshi. It was the perfect invitation that sent another boost of energy through the cat.

Wet, miserable, and with impending danger ringing through her senses Dahlia didn't have time to decipher that something was off. Any strangeness was written off as she heard the clatter of metal strike and fall from the wall.

"Hey, hey!" She shouted when she drew near enough to see the purple locks of the persuing agent, debating very hard whether or not she wasn't just best to shoot off a ray at the girl and stun her.. Give the senshi enough time to just run off into the dark. But that was so risky, her chest was already heaving just from running and searching, she'd be a sitting duck if it came to that.

No.. maybe she could get the senshi to finish the job just by helping her get the upperhand.

"Quit running and fight back!" She shouted towards the fleeing 'senshi' even as she darted towards the knife wielding Fluorite with claws unsheathed. It was hardly a fair fight.

Fluorite continued on her way, turning the corner after her prey. She was soaking wet, but now there was no time to find shelter - her normally lighter curls falling hard and limp on her shoulders.

Really, she was going to need a shower after this...

She heard a voice, and turned back. No aura, no person... Just what they'd exactly been out to find. Fluorite wasn't exactly a cat person, but she had to admit this one was pretty.

"Oh, my." She called loud and clear for Vasilisa to hear. "Looks like I get to bring back both a senshi and a cat starseed tonight ! Arn't I lucky ?"

She pointed her own remaining knife toward Dahlia. "Be careful, I've got claws too..."

The girl answered neither the cat nor the Negaverser -- instead, she kept on running, disappearing behind corners and into shadows always a split second before Dahlia could get a good look at her. In spite of Dahlia's plea for her to defend herself, she never once turned around in any attempt to unleash her magic against her pursuer.

All she did was run. Soon enough, all of that chasing and being chased ended up leading them to a very narrow dead end in the back streets of Destiny City. The brick walls towered imposingly around them, boarded-up windows with dilapidated sills providing nothing in the way of means for escape for even the most deftly-footed of the town's numerous vigilantes.

And as the girl turned around to face her demise, Dahlia would finally notice that something was awry.

She was wearing normal clothes. There wasn't any trace of a senshi's fuku on her at all. And yet, the familiar energy of a Sailor Crystal persisted precisely from where she was standing.

"Dream on" She snarled at the knife wielding girl's ego. Like hell she'd be able to take on and finish both a senshi and a cat. Not if Dahlia had anything to do with it. Even if the senshi was being a cowardly little twit.

Nonetheless the knife was a little daunting.. it was more then long enough to puncture some really important organs in her tiny little body with one swift motion. The likelihood of her getting in any good scratches without getting hit was pretty slim. So instead she dashed by Fluorite and after the 'senshi', unwittingly falling into the trap set for her.

Her heart sank as they were brought to an abrupt stop, the tall buildings on three sides almost cutting out the sky from their view. There was no way out except through their persuer. Skidding to a stop the creamy white guardian tried to catch her breath in the brief seconds she had, not being able to hold back the complaint resting at the back of her throat.

"Look, I don't care how scared you are or how stupid your power might be. Quit being a coward and fight if you want to get out of here al..." Her eyes had drifted upwards towards the 'senshi' when her intial attempts to read her name and power failed. And what she saw cut her words sharply off.

This wasn't just about a weird fuku... all the alarm bells that should have alerted her before were firing off in full force. Was she.. even a senshi? She had to be right?

Her head quickly glanced back and forth from the 'senshi' and the alleyway in which Fluorite was certainly already coming down. Her back arched... protectively? Confused? Every fiber of her being was screaming for her to get the hell out of Dodge. But that was a little easier said then done.
PostPosted: Sat Jul 23, 2011 1:29 pm

The kitty-cat went straight for the 'senshi', and for there on Fluorite wasn't as much in an hurry as she used to be, making her way toward the dead end rather leisurely. Nonetheless, the fact remained that there was no other easy way out of the alley than through her.

And she doubted a cat could outrun her. Not when powered up.

The remaining knife was tucked in her sash, it's twin forgotten for the time being - and she moved to catch the clearly confused guardian by the scruff of her neck, doing her best to keep any exposed parts away from claws.

It seemed like killing her wasn't really Fluorite's goal, after all, else she had probably missed her best chance to do it.

"Looking for a senshi, are we?"

In spite of the obvious threat the Negaverser posed to them, the young woman took a few steps toward the cat and her captor. She didn't seem taken aback by how a talking cat had been addressing her at all. As a matter of fact, her face was wearing a cool, knowing gaze that indicated she knew exactly what Dahlia was.

As she stepped into the flickering pool of light being spilled into the alley by a lone nearby streetlamp, there was a great rippling unfolding of dark energy -- and her civilian guise was replaced by the much more familiar uniform of a Negaverse officer. A very high-ranking Negaverse officer. Her expression gave way to a small, smug smirk, and she kept walking slowly towards Fluorite and Dahlie, one of her hands lifting up from behind her back until it was inches away and eye-level with the cat.

Her fingers opened. There was a Sailor Crystal inside, gleaming with cosmic energy.

"Was it this senshi, by any chance?"

This whole thing had been a trap.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:36 am

Her hair prickled, her body held still like a deer in headlights as the whole situation unfolded, the pieces clicking together. To be tricked... in any other situation it would have been a sting to her ego, something she threw an angry fit about, but she was far too concerned for any of that at the moment. Concerned for herself and her wellbeing.. and then utterly and ridiculously pissed at the scene in front of her.

The starseed she'd been tricked with could only mean one thing. That there was a senshi out there somewhere. Laying out in the streets perhaps? Murdered.. body turning cold and frigid in the night.

Some young life had been snuffed out, some starseed that should have been returned to the Cauldron was here instead gripped in the hands of a snearing General Queen. The very disrespect. To use someone's glittering soul and self as a tool for some ploy.

Was it her fault that the senshi had been killed then to? It was the ultimate failure of a guardian. For a senshi to die was bad enough.. but for a senshi to die for her? Why had they even set the trap that they had? Just to kill her? That didn't take killing someone else to do!

So mortified and furious, Fluorite was able to snag Dahlia's long fur before the cat had realized it. Her body and instincts told her to curl, to become still like some kitten in their mother's mouth. But she was not just a cat. And she would not let her cat instincts take her over.

She bucked and struggled furiously against her captor her claws outstreched and flailing wildly, ignoring the painful tug of her hair and skin pinched between the negaverse agent's tight grip. Gutteral sounds, hisses and growls escaped her as she tried to nail the weaker girl, but in the end it wasn't getting her much of anywhere.

It was stupid. Completely illogical considering a hit to one wouldn't do anything about the other. But she was so frantic and more importantly so pissed. As her eyes closed to focus on what she was about to do she imagined it.. the senshi she had failed.

The small flicker of light was the only warning before the laser shot from the golden star on her forehead, a howl escaping her throat. "Murderous bitches!"

Dangling as she was, who knew if the attack would even land, but regardless after it'd launched the guardian was considerably drained. Her struggling and clawing slowly beginning to weaken in it's ferocity.

Fluorite really found herself wishing she had gloves, at this moment. Her fur was long and soft, but it left her vulnerable to an angry fluffy of claws, hissing and puffing. What claws did land hit her armwraps or the leather instead, which was good, because the purple-haired captain wasn't sure if she could have been able to completely negate her reflex of dropping something if it caused her pain.

Then the star glew.

Just because she had never seen a cat fire off a laser didn't mean that she didn't know a cat could fire off a laser. So Fluorite's reflex was to 'aim' the cat away from her leader, and the firing went off to the side instead of dead-onto Laurelite, thanks to quick reflexes.

...But damn. One day she was gonna convince Hiro to do this. PEW PEW.

Or maybe even this one...

With the offending beam out of the way, Fluorite finally started to walk toward the General Queen. She wasn't sure if cats could fire more than once, but she still remained careful.

It was hard not to pity her, hard to suppress the urge to hold the cat more properly and try to soothe her even as she was weakening in her hold. Just because she was a dog person didn't meant she liked to abuse cats.

But no, she couldn't do that. Not before she was theirs.

"How should I hold her ?" She assumed turning a cat was just like turning a senshi, which meant that Laurelite would need a direct access to the mauvian's starseed.

It would hurt, and she was prepared for that, at least on some level. Enlightenment did not come without pain. One day the cat would look on this day and realize that she'd been chosen, among all the others.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 08, 2011 7:02 pm

Dahlia's cosmic projectile fizzled harmlessly into the bricks behind Laurelite, leaving behind a faint burn mark that cleared away a bit of the grime. The weather would cover it up again soon enough, any other sign that she had ever fought against the Negaverse fading along with it. "Hold her however you like," Laurelite said unceremoniously. "She's going to try and put up a struggle either way... that is, if she has anything left after that little light show..."

Corrupting a guardian cat was different from corrupting a human, if for no reason other than body size. As delicately small as this General-Queen's hand was, her fingers still stuck partway out of Dahlia's body as she managed a grip around her star seed. Not that Dahlia was going to notice or care one way or the other. The minor differences did not change the fact that it still hurt. From the point of contact to the tips of her ears and tail, it hurt. The pain was unimaginable, and terrifying... and unlike with humans, it wasn't just the fact that every last cell of her body felt engulfed in fire and covered in ice all at once that made it so.

Each new wave of dark energy coursing through her body was also one more memory erased. Her entire life was flashing before her eyes, only to be erased the next instant. Each blink of her eyes felt like a dream fading at the end of a long and uneasy sleep. Simple but precious moments vanished. Longer, more dramatic ones lost their meaning and unraveled themselves into darkness. Everything that defined who she was, from her life both before awakening as a Guardian and afterwards, permanently spilled away from her mind until she was left aware of only three things.

Her name was Dahlia. She was a guardian cat. Her life belonged to the great Queen Metallia and the Negaverse.

"Put her down," Laurelite instructed. "She should be ready."

She had fight in her spirit, but the fight left in her actual body was nothing compared to it. The shot, as useless as it had turned out to be was entirely draining, and after a night of running around in the rain already.. she probably would have been shaking on her legs if she were standing. There was something to say about survival instinct however. Even despite the exhaustion her feet kicked, now slower and more deliberate attempts to hit Fluorite as she felt the energy required for such kicks slowly fading. Paws reached up above her own head trying to catch the girl's hand. And her mouth, that had more than enough energy to spew anger and resistance.

Ecspecially when it became clear that they weren't going to kill her. That their intentions were far more insidious.

"Don't touch me!"

"Let me go or I'll make sure you leave here minus an eye!" She gave one last hard wriggle. A low hiss escaping her, trying to be more intimidating then she could possibly be in her helpless state.

"I would rather be dead then have you touch my starseed." The hand was coming and she was trying so hard to keep it from getting near. But she was just so tired...

Pain shot through every fiber of her body as Laurelite's hand found what it was looking for. Her ears, her paws... even her hair seemed to ache in excruciating pain, but it was the very worst in her chest where the starseed held there fought for a moment against the intrusion. A whispered hiss escaped her before her eyes squeezed shut. "I will not join you!"

It was no use however.

The powers of chaos and the General Queen's strength quickly overpowered the tired cat's starseed. All the light that once remained there seaped out, either pushed away or corrupted by the quickly flooding chaotic energy.

Her eyes squeezed shut even tighter, trying hard to hold onto the images that were flashing through her mind, like pictures falling out of an album and fluttering off into the wind.

But it was a battle she couldn't win. Just as the chaos swept through her chest the star on her head slowly began to change until the soft gold had darkened to a bold black.

As she was set on the ground, Dahlia took a moment to strengthen her stance, still weary even with the new pulse of chaotic energy coursing through her veins. Her mind was blank for the most part, it was almost as if she had been reborn.

Well.. maybe not her attitude. "Can we go from here General Queen?" Her dual colored eyes peered up first at Laurelite and then the subordinate that had only a moment ago held her constrained. Apparently she didn't remember.. or didn't care, all the aggression in her body having been traded for simple indifference. Respect had replaced fear and anger.

"It's cold and my fur is getting drenched in the rain" Her heavy tailed flicked softly as if to show off the point. The newest guardian of the Negaverse had some rest to catch up on and a whole new life to build.

It was similar yet different, through of course she resisted. They all did, in some way, before they realized what was going on.

Before they understood what was best for them.

But Fluorite held her, in spite of the struggles, in spite of the threats. They were empty, she knew. No one could resist that kind of energy, even if they so dearly wanted to.

When it was done, she let her down on the ground, as she'd been ordered. The cat's complaining made her remember that she was, in fact, drenched as well.

If she was lucky, she might get dismissed now and be able to to dry herself. If not... Well, she wasn't in a position to refuse the general queen anything.

"Straight to business, are we..." Laurelite observed, as the cat touched upon the ground and spoke her first words. "I like that in an officer. Marthozite might have been fond of you... excellent work tracking her down, Fluorite." A nod. "We can go from here, yes. After all, we have a bit of briefing to do..." And with a small buzz of the air, they were gone.

It was normally against this General-Queen's protocol to invite a Guardian into the ranks of the Negaverse: however, the deep corruption of the star Alkaid had revealed entire new uses for the senshi among their ranks. In the hours to come, Dahlia would learn not only about the Negaverse and its goals, but of how imperative it was to try and lead what senshi she could to the same fate, with the kind of guidance only a Guardian could provide.

With the right attitude and the right motivation, these formerly pesky cats could prove useful. Very useful, indeed.
