Tilly was scared. Her heart was pounding… She had pulled that small cart for going on 14 years now. And now she was alone. The old woman had died late one night and the gypsy’s by way of tradition. Took all her personal items and buried her in a ditch somewhere. She had been tied to the back for some person’s wagon and finally she had slipped the rope.

Now… she was all alone. Her tiny hooves trod the earth. She had never been this far away from people… and it was terrifying. She jumped when she stepped on a twig. And then something cracked behind her. She spooked. In a full out run, Tilly headed straight into hell herd territory. The stench didn’t hit her until she was already a mile past the border. Rearing to a halt she tossed her head.

Shaking her head ferociously she tried to dislodge the disgusting smell from her nose. She sighed. While the smell still lingered her nostrils were getting used to the scent… if anyone could get used to the scent of rotting flesh. Carefully… very carefully, she started to trek forward, deeper into the hell herd’s land.

Tilly had drove around with the old voodoo lady long enough to have some of the voodoo belief rub off on her… Not that she would be murdering a chicken any time soon… but the feel of the fabric from the voodoo doll tied to her leg… gave her courage.

User Image She couldn't remember how long they had stayed in that single, barren wasteland of fire and fear, but how was this place any different? She could not see the world around her, had to trust the dumb mutt that got them in this mess in the first place, and worst of all she was being kept a prisoner of the stallion Thorn. He had kept her tucked away ever since he had brought her out with him, claiming it was 'safer' until he had secured his position once more. Of course she knew that to be a lie, he had no problem wresting her away from countless others during his short stay to gather recruits, he'd have no problem doing it again. Her ears pinned against the sides of her skull at the thought of the brutal beast that kept her here.

A small whine to her side hit her senses like freight train and the mare shuttered as she was reminded of the company she entertained. Damnable beast. "Shut up", she spat indignantly, hiding no hatred from the great dane. To make matters worse, Thorn spoke not to her, but gave orders to the stupid mutt. Apparently it thought the stallion was its new master, and boy did he want to please! Never mind her desires or orders, it did what Thorn told it to do. And so far? Those orders were to stay here and don't let anyone see you. That had been going on for quite some time now, days if not weeks, and Ashe was growing tired of munching on the same grass over and over again.

Baark! ARrraff! BARK!

It happened so suddenly that Ashe could not contain the startled jerk that erupted from her person, tugging the lead and the dog with it. She could not move him very well or very far, but she was quite satisfied with the yelp that came with it. However, that did not shut the beast up, which... which meant someone was coming! Paniced, as she could not see who it might be, that mare backed away uncertainly, then realized they could be coming from that direction, and promptly swung around to face it. This went on a few times until she settled into simply pacing around the barking canine, nostrils flared to the extreme as she tried to discern just who, or what, might pop out of no where.

Tilly Once again drew to a halt. This time because she could hear movement up ahead. Pinning her ears back she glanced behind herself. Slowly oneear came up and then another. She heard... a dog.

Rearing slightly she glanced at the bushes ahead. It had come from behind those bushes. Her ears straight forward now, she could hear the sounds of movement.

Frowning she glanced around once more before venturing forward. Maybe... just maybe it was a nice couple who wanted a pony for their home. Carefully, and with an attempt to stay quiet she moved closer and closer to the bushes.

Carefully and with great caution she let out a small whinny. "Hello?" Her voice sounded just as she stepped through the bushes to see a large mare... and a very...large dog. Hesitating a moment... she tried to decided what to do.

Between the dog barking and her rustling around the brush, Ashe couldn't hear anything that might give away an approaching figure. Maybe they were just being quiet, but the mare ground her teeth in frustration and anxiety. If it was Thorn she'd give him a piece of her mind, if it was anyone else... she didn't know. Maybe they'd be inclined to help her away from this place by, you know, conving the dog to- okay now that just sounded silly. With a final snort Ashe resolved herself to stay still long enough to listen for any noises around her, as hard-pressed as that was with the barking dog by her side. She heard... nothing. Absolutely nothing.

As she waited the more annoyed she grew until finally she'd had enough of the dog's insistant alerts. With one carefully aimed jerk to her head she pulled back on the lead to once more hear the mutt yelp and huff for air. He stayed quiet long enough for Ashe to hear the small 'hello' from the brush line, sending a wave of a shivers down her spine. Well, it wasn't Thorn at least. With great concentration she trained her attention to the direction she had thought she heard the voice, and was about to speak up with the dog once more began to bark, more insistantly now that it saw someone was actually here. "Oh do be quiet, stupid mutt!" Ashe snapped, dropping a hoof on the poor thing's exposed tail. Another yelp and a jump back had the beast reconsidering his options, but his dark eyes stayed trained on the intruder.

"Pardon the rude welcome, who might you be?" she finally said, regaining a bit of composure to her form. Luckily for Ashe, her bottom half was completely covered up by the bushes she stood behind, and until she knew who she was dealing with, it was going to stay that way.

Tilly was staring straight at the dog. It was probably the fact that the dog was the one barking and acting out aggressively, but some how the mare simply fell into the background. Tilly shuffled carefully. he leg wraps were catching on the bushes. She would have to walk forward. She glanced at the dog. Then she realized that it was tied to the mare.

Carefully calculating her eyes moved between the dog and the mare... obviously the 'passive mare' had more control in the situation. Fixing her wraps was easy when she could step out of the bushes. She tossed her head carefully."I'm... Tilly..."

Sh flicked her tail carefully and felt it catch in the bush. Carefully she stepped another step forward. "Im sorry... i didn't mean to sneak up on you... I was just coming through... i think... Im... uh... new to the area." She glanced behind her and then looked at the dog. She had a hunch that if she stood next to it... she would come up shorter. Glancing back to the mare she took in the cover over the mare's eyes. She doubted it was comfortable.. but.. who was she to know anything...

Glancing back to the dog she frowned. "Why are you back in this small clearing... Its kinda a tight fit... why don't you guys come out into the sunlight."

New? Ashe pondered thoughtfully. Did she happen to be one of Thorn's other recruits? Being unable to see, Ashe wasn't certain what the rest of the Hell Herd looked like, but by the smell of it they were all rotted or at least tainted by the afterlife. The grey Lipizzaner trained her ears to the approaching figure, a look of heavy concentration for one whose face was mostly hidden. This whole place smelled of rot, therefore it was difficult to tell if this creature added to its unpleasantness or if perhaps... perhaps she was of this world. A glimmer of a cruel smirk graced her maw before it was checked and returned to the mare's normal, disdainful look. "I'm new as well, Tilly my dear", the mare spoke softly, giving her strong neck a delicate flex. "You'll have to excuse the mutt, he has very specific orders." Ashe left it hanging at that, but the more she thought about it the more certain she was. This mare was too cautious, too hesitant to be part of the blood thirsty herd Thorn had dragged her into. No. This mare was normal.

The dog, now watching Ashe closely, could almost feel the sudden change in his companion. Something wicked this way came, and so it sat back on its haunches, content to let its work be played out for it.

"Is it not sunny where I am standing?" Ashe questioned, giving a mock glance around the area despite her eyes being covered by the cloth. It wasn't insanity or a lust for vengeance that fueled Ashe's actions, but a severe wave of jealousy that boiled her blood. She use to be beautiful. Back when she was living amongst the humans and was whole, she was the most stunning thing they had ever laid their grubby hands on- as far as Ashe was concerned. The idea that she was but a mere shadow of her former self, an ugly monster while other horses walked around with whole limbs and skin that wasn't crispy to the touch was enough to justify her capture into the hell herd. Even if she was merely Thorn's prisoner in the grand scheme of the herd's dynamic, Ashe was content as long as they shared her bitterness for this world. "My apologies, little Tilly", though Ashe didn't know just how right that statement was, "I should have known better than to hide my beauty in the darkness." As graceful as any delicate dame, Ashe stepped forward out of the brush, the pentacle of smooth, controlled motion; a trade mark of her breed. Of course, doing so completely exposed her bottom half, bone, muscle, charred skin and all.

Really? She was new... maybe that's why she was hiding in the bushes... Nodding she glanced to the dog. "Orders? From who..."

The dog moved. Tilly's eyes bolted back to the Dane. Her mind raced. Now the big angry dog was happily contented to sit and do nothing... something was up.

Tilly shook her head and thought about it. "No...Its very shadowed..." Tilly watched the mare. Maybe she could help somehow... if she could just get past the Dane... and convince the mare to drop her head low enough... maybe she could get the fabric off. But she doubted that she could get past the dog.

Tilly frowned the mare was lovely and shouldn't have been hiding.. However the mare spoke again. Tilly puffed up. Little... why did it have to be about her size.... Tilly watched the mare very carefully as she moved.
Tilly startled slightly. however... she didn't run... having dabbled in voodoo she had seen dead things walk before.

She remained quiet for a moment and then looked at the dog then to the mare. "You are right... you should never have hidden your beauty in the shadows."

If anything could have stopped the mare cold it was Tilly agreeing with her. The Lipizzaner mare pulled up short from her approach, fine head held high on what was obviously a surprised jerk of her neck. Whatever it was the mare had been planning on doing to this normal mare, all intentions were thoroughly stripped away. Doubt riddled her mind once more, a normal would have been much more frightened of her appearance, correct? At least, that's what she had expected from the creatures of this world, with how Thorn declared they would 'decimate' the weak-willed peons. His own words, of course. Was it possible this mare was of the herd? Is that why she didn't run in terror? Ashe took a few moments to ponder over these things, her ears working back and forth until they finally settled into an uncertain position poised backward. Akin to pinning, but not nearly as aggressive. "I must say, at the very least its been quite the while since someone's actually agreed with me on that point," she started slowly, a bit of hesitant curiosity lacing her refined voice. In fact, Ashe even so much as began to venture her nose forward to get a better smell of the mare; thus far not knowing of the height difference, and so not quite compensating for the matter.

This however, was interrupted by the charcoal black Dane who's teeth bared white in the shadows. Ashe had come up short to take a different direction altogether, thus Thorn's orders now solely stuck to him once more. With a vile snarl it rose from its haunches once more to lunge forward, blocked only by the mare who in her movement to reach forward and sniff at the other, instead reached down to snap her teeth onto the back of the dog's very neck- eliciting a painful yelp of surprise from the mutt.

Her anger with the dog swelled once more as it lunged at their guest, and Ashe could only do what she could to keep it from what she assumed would be a nasty onslaught of teeth and horrendous headaches of barks and screams. Ashe really didn't want to deal with that right now. When she was certain the dog would no longer lunge at dear, sweet Tilly, the mare removed her grip from the nape of his neck and stomped a frustrated hoof in front of him. "Behave yourself, silly mongrel! Thorn won't hear of this, I assure you!" Really! He had no manners what so ever. With a final snort Ashe returned her attention to the mare, who ever she was, curiosity tainted with agitation now that the dog had returned to its usual self. "How strange. You must tell me, why do the morbid not bother you?" Perhaps she could have been more subtle or smooth about it, but the mare's patience was wearing thin, and she wanted answers. Was the mare before her really part of the herd? Or did she come from these lands of beautiful, whole horses?

Tilly's eyes were trained on the dog. Since the mare had halted her forward movement to take on a more curious approach the dog was fast becoming the more dangerous of the two. "That's a shame" She said the comment offhandedly and then glanced once away from the dog to the mare.

Tilly vowed not to take her eyes off the dog after that. As soon as she had looked away the dog had lunged. Tilly cringed only to hear a yelp. Her eyes shot open. She had caught the dog! With a snort Tilly sidestepped uncomfortably. "Your reflexes are amazing..." Tilly tossed her head carefully and then looked over her shoulder, just to make sure the humans were still far behind.

And then the question. "Well... Ive seen dead things dance... and the 7 weeks dead reanimated... My...owner practiced Voodoo magicks and so... im used to it." She twitched her tail.

"Why.... do you stay here... Im sure you could move the dog very easily..." She frowned... "I could never stay in one place for long..."
