Age: 16
Faction/Race Reaper - Witch of Despair
(aka a Witch as depicted in the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica)Natural Ability: Racial Ability: Summon Familiar - Anna can summon her familiar, an Incubator named Shibey. (Don't call him Shibby. ° ω °)
Natural Ability: Banquet of Despair - Anna feels revitalized/gets a charge from being around people who are genuinely suffering. In other words, she can 'feed' off of true, gut-wrenching despair and may feel the urge to drive others to it deliberately. (She has NOT had this ability all her life and is uncomfortable with it - see history below.)
Also, like all witches/warlocks she can cast magic, though her ability to work with things that aren't curses has become extremely erratic. (I.E. a fireball spell will probably go off in her hand or fly off-course to burn someone else even if she doesn't aim it at them.) This is very frustrating to her, as she used to be able to cast most basic spells at a manageable level. Eventually she will be completely unable to cast spells that aren't curses/hexes.
Personality: Anna is inclined to be a little shy and... well, fairly ordinary. She isn't exceptionally gifted at anything, isn't particularly beautiful nor particularly scary. She considers herself to be solidly mediocre. Or boring, if she's feeling bummed about life. She tries to be hopeful about her prospects, but when all the adults in her life are sighing and moaning about how terrible things are it's hard to keep a smile on your face. She tried to be a good girl and please those above her, especially her parents, hoping to get some attention and be validated as something more than just... ordinary.
However, she recently went through a great change in her life (see history), and is still reeling from the effects. She is anxious, unsure if she can trust herself, and
very unsure about trusting Shibey. She is also grief-stricken, mourning her fallen original familiar and the circumstances that caused her family to (at least temporarily) reject her.
As her bond with Shibey deepens, and her FEAR shifts and begins to change her, Anna will discover a cruel edge to herself. Spurred on by her new ability to feed off of negative emotion, she will find herself encouraged to draw those emotions out of others through her actions - though she will pick her targets, she's not going to be a jerk to absolutely everyone. Still, being a subtle bully is definitely not outside the realm of possibility for her.
She will also find her ego growing a bit, as she truly
does have more power than she ever thought she might. Trickles of madness will creep into her mind, manifesting themselves in sadistic glee at other people's unhappiness... though, again, she will pick her targets. This will be an excellent trait for a scarer of humans, but not so good for interpersonal skills. She will obey authority, but she will poke at every boundary she can in the process.
With others, she is currently shy and withdrawn, afraid to make close connections; if she can't trust herself, why should she expect others to? And yet, later on, she will find herself driven to make friends and create anchors to cling to as she erodes and changes. In the far future, she will likely have many acquaintances but few close friends, unless she makes them early and manages to keep them.
Basically, she's a walking work in progress. Stand back, and keep your hard hat on.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Her parents sent her there after she made a serious mistake.
FEAR: Hopeless Curse (FEAR Type: The Mind) - Working with Shibey, Anna can induce a feeling of hopeless despair (and related emotions - unease, sadness, anxiety, etc.) in those she targets - how much this affects the target is based on Anna's experience. The target's vision will also shift a bit, giving the world a mad fever-dream look. (If you've ever seen Puella Magi Madoka Magica, you know what the inside of a Witch's Barrier looks like. Yeah.)
Physical Description:As a side note before we get started, I would strongly prefer if an artist who can draw in anime style could draw Anna & Shibey. <3 That's what I'll be going for when I bribe and enter customs and stuff! Since she's roughly based on a concept from an anime, I'd like for her to be drawn in anime style also.
And, no matter what, her expression should be slightly concerned/worried/uncomfortable. Not happy... not yet. Heh.Eye Colour: Sharp cyan.
Hair Colour/Style: Light, loose curls, with a gradient of white to icy blues.
Skin Colour: Caucasian - pale, though not bone-white or unearthly white.
Clothing Style/Colours: Exactly as seen at left!
biggrin Extra: As in the art to the left~ at the first stage, faint bits of corruption should be visible on her body here and there. NOT very much.

Also, please include Shibey in her art! He is an Incubator, so should be drawn exactly like
this reference. Keeping that facial expression is very important! Instead of pink/red, Shibey's fur is colored in shades of blue, and his ear-bracelet-thingies are silver, not gold.
