Due to someone's misreading of the rules of the Avatar Contest, I have decided to make one of my own. This contest, however, is to decide who looks the closest to the Tolkien character they chose to look like. Yes! I'm extending this to all Tolkien characters, so if you want to put on a dog nose and say you're Roverandom, go for it.
Just post here with the avatar you want to enter with, and I'll host you, provided Photobucket doesn't die on me.
I want to make an entrance fee, but I don't want to seem like I'm hoarding money, so I'll tell you what. I'll put a 50g Entrance Fee on this, and then all the money from that shall go to the winner of the contest. The contest will begin once I get the avatars of everyone who wants to participate up. Look closely at them and PM me (Or Elly as it really doesn't matter.)) with your vote. That way, it's all secret like, and nobody has to get mad. You can vote for yourself. Have fun with it.

Well, you see, the point is to dress a character up until they get the desired look. You pick a character, and model the avatar after them.
On that note, I've set aside 50g of my own and shall be entering the contest as Meadhros.

I've always fashioned him to look like Melkor so it's no problems.

ALthough it won't be for a littel while now since I'm waiting for my avatar contest to finish so I can collect the little reward from it and buy them.

I'll enter the contest as Varda, mainly because Zach's borrowing my ears *Rubs the stumps* and because I don't feel like changing my hair color.

Doesn't GAC kind of defeat the point of an avatar contest?

Nope. It allows us to use our creativity, instead of our resources. Some people have very limited resources.

thaxul Nope. It allows us to use our creativity, instead of our resources. Some people have very limited resources. Exactly.
The point of an avatar contest is to see who has the best avatar-creating skills, not to see who has the most gold to buy items.
