Chapter 1: The Sleeping Beauty
Aqua used to be a celebrity throughout the entire Hidden Leaf Village. From a very young age she was reffered to as Princess Aqua. Her mother and father were both Lords, previous Damyos who moved to the Hidden Leaf and became members of the Konoha Council. Both were well loved throughout the village for both strived to make Konoha a safer and better place. Placing the peole first, the Damyos spent their entire lives to serve the people. Their daughter was no different. She was raised to be a kind hearted and sincere soul, beautiful and graceful, earning her the nickname Princess. Despite the title, Aqua grew up to be rather humble, always blushing whenever she was reffered to by that name. Of course the people always said the name in a respectful and admirable tone.
At the age of nine, after wanting to serve her village different than her parents, she entered the Ninja Academy to become a shinobi and a protector of the Hidden Leaf Village. It was here that the teachers noticed her prowess for weapons. During this time, she failed many academy assigments and shinobi exercises due to the fact that she placed the safety of others before the mission. Many times she would help another student out rather than complete her own assigments. Despite this "flaw", her potential and skill far outweighed it and she was allowed to graduate from the academy, becoming a full fledged ninja of the Hidden Leaf.
Some time after graduating the academy, the Akatsuki shocked the world by releasing the demon beasts. Loosing control of them, the Hokou was the one who attacked Fire Country. Elemental calamities struck the Hidden Leaf Village: Electrical storms, ground shattering earthquakes, building toppling tsunamis, swirling tornadoes, and fierce fires. The Land of Fire was truly in its darkest hour. Aqua couldn't bare to see the destruction of the land she loved, and the people she cared for. However, even in the deepest darkness, there is a glimmer of hope. Stepping forth to protect the village, the two former Damyos, Aqua's parents, now stood before the very tailed beast. The Hokage began chipping away at the Beast just as the Damyos prepared a sealing ritual, one they had learned in case such a tragedy would ever befall upon the Hidden Leaf.
As the beast drew its final attack, the Damyos managed to seal the beast into a living being, one who they believed had the strength of heart and character to contain the beast and use its power to protect the Hidden Leaf Village. They couldn't just seal the demon into just anyone, but a kind soul who wouldn't use the Hokou's power selfishly and irresponsibly. They chose their own daughter Aqua as the vessel for the Hokou, sealing the beast inside of her at the cost of their lives. Their legacy was now within her. The Hidden Leaf was at last at peace...but at a great cost. Upon discovering that the demon was sealed inside Aqua, she was immediatly brought to the hospital in order to ensure that the seal was maintained and that her body was still intact. However...not everything went according to plan. She was unresponsive to any medical treatment or sealing jutsu. She was completely comatose, sleeping soundly through time. Days turned to weeks and weeks turned into months, but no sign of Aqua's awakening ever came to pass. Her heart was said to have been lost to the darkness.
Deciding it to be best that the Hokou's power was sealed within a host whose body could not move, the villagers of the Leaf decided to encase Aqua in a secure and sacred place in the Leaf Village, the Temple of Fire. It is here where Princess Aqua currently sleeps, waiting for the day to be awakened. Will that day ever come? And if it does, will the Hokou be ressurected and finish the task that it had set out to do all that time ago? Only time will tell...
