Olivia was trying not to shake too much. It was a planned meeting, and the summer was always the best time to do something like this. Regardless, she couldn't quite help her nervous self. Things were going well...almost too well! But a huge piece of her anxiety was meeting this dog of Damon's. She thought he said it was a goldendoodle, but honestly she had been paying more attention to how close she had been to him than detailing everything she had said. Really! She was nineteen! Way too old for these childish romanticism thoughts.
With a sigh, she waited near a bench at the park - their planned meeting place. Olivia was glad that it was going to be here. If she really made a fool of herself, it'd be a quick getaway. Not that she was planning on it, but sometimes Olivia got a little too overeager about things.
She snatched her cellphone from her purse, fiddling with it as she waited, willing herself to be patient. Really, they had gone to prom together, her heart shouldn't flutter so much.

Damon had, honestly been quite baffled by Delphine's ribbing of him going to the prom with someone, and a girl, no less, she had pointed out. He didn't think that she had to make such a big deal out of it, because it led to him being slightly confused and awkward that he hardly talked to Olivia on the way to the prom. But then again, he wasn't a very talkative person to begin with, so it wasn't really that strange... or so he hoped.
He decided that it would be wise not to tell Delphine that he was meeting Olivia again today; everyone would just assume that he was walking the dog as usual. It would be a surprise for Belle too, but at least she liked meeting new people, like when they had bumped into Sam the other day.
Yeah, he was just hoping that Belle didn't screw this up. Which would be uncharacteristic of her, but things could happen, so...
As he broke out of his thoughts, he saw her there, a small smile forming as he lifted up his free hand to wave. "Hey, you're early." He commented, and Belle stared up at the girl with a curious expression on her face, tail wagging in greeting.

First instinct was to run to them. Moreso to Belle, really. She had to be honest to herself. It was that tail wagging that nearly did her in. Instead, she gripped onto her phone tightly as she placed it back in her purse and willfully walked herself slowly to them.
"I think I'll blame it on the coffee," she said with a smile. Her hands grew a bit twitchy as she got close to the dog, but didn't want to rush into things too quickly. She had to keep reminding herself of that.
"So this is Belle?" she asked rhetorically, bending down to let the dog sniff her hand.

"Too much coffee's bad for you, you know." He cautioned, taking her quip seriously. Then again, Damon was a bit of a health nut; he once got into a fight in Hillworth when someone offered him a cigarette and he denied it, resulting in a fist thrown to counter the insults. It wasn't something very fond to look back on, he had to admit, but he did still have the same mentality.
"Yeah." Damon said. Would she noticed that Belle's name kind of was similar to Del, the short form of his sister's name, which was why he had ended up with that name? "I'm kind of horrible at names, so." He watched Belle cautiously as he said this. Thankfully, after a few sniffs, Belle had decided that Olivia smelled nice and started licking her joyfully. He let out a small relieved breath he hadn't realized he had been holding.
...Which was kind of stupid really, considering that Belle was so friendly that sometimes his mother thought that she would even welcome burglars to the house.
"So uh, do you have any ideas as to what kind of dog you want to get?"

Erp. Well. Olivia may need to hide her addiction to coffee from him! Or just disguise it in different ways - iced coffee and blended drinks were perfect for the summer anyways.
She had been lightly smiling this whole time, but she giggled softly when Belle began licking her hand. While she volunteered at the shelter for a few hours a week, she wasn't usually around the animals. She scratched the top of Belle's head, cooing for a moment before she stood all the way up again.
Ok, now it was time for the girlish reaction. "She's so cute!" It was hard to tear her eyes away from the cute, but then it was a little hard for Olivia to look Damon right in the eyes.
"Not yet," she answered, sneaking a peek up at him before letting her attention go back to Belle. "I don't want something tiny, though." They seemed so...fragile when they were toy-size.

"Yeah." Damon said indifferently. "Don't say it too much or she'll get too smug of herself." He was just joking, of course; Belle was too nice and friendly for her own good. She was a comfort in his life, as opposed to having to deal with his sister every day. Still, the two of them were the main girls that he cared for.
"Tiny dogs wouldn't make much of a guard dog." He pointed out. After all, Olivia lived alone. By herself. "I mean, Belle was cute when she was just a puppy, but I like big sized dogs too." Honestly, when he was a kid, his dream dog had been a golden retriever. It was something he had kept to himself because they already had a cat and he didn't know if his mother would allow another animal in the hosue. "And Delphine would probably be annoyed with a tiny puppy." He added, as an afterthought. He certainly could imagine his sister giving a look of distaste to a Chihuahua.

"Never!" Olivia laughed, giving Belle more attention just because of what Damon said (even if he didn't quite mean it). She was just...such the cutest thing.
Olivia set herself down on a bench that was close by, enjoying this time she was spending with both of them, really. She was feeling incredibly lucky just to be here.
"Oh, yeah, puppies." They didn't seem like something she was quite ready to handle right off the bat. "I was thinking about one of the older dogs at the shelter. Not old, but....puppies are a lot of work, aren't they?"
Her eyes had a hard time straying away from Damon. At least until Belle asked for more attention, as Olivia had to oblige.

"They are." He said with a sigh, even as Belle stared up at him, wide-eyed, as if trying to assure him that she was utterly innocent. "Don't look at me like that; you know you gave me some trouble before. Mom kept insisting that she was my responsibility and Delphine wouldn't help, of course," but that wasn't much of a surprise, "so I actually had to keep going back to the pet shop to ask the owner stuff." Especially when he had to litter train Belle.
"It sounds good to adopt an older dog." Damon agreed; Olivia probably should take things slow because she lived alone. "I could accompany you when you decide to go?" At this, Belle barked in approval and then nuzzled Olivia's hand, demanding more attention.
