Chogan hated the rain, and yet it seemed to love him. He had been running for a long time now, running from his past, his future, his own life practically... With each crack of thunder, he heard the kelpi's tale smashing into the water, trashing and swimming about with all the power an animal such as he could attain. With each flash of thunder, there were those yellow eyes, staring out in approval at Chogan.
Approval...Chogan snorted, as he tried to gain enough courage to keep going. Approval to eat... The stallion had only been a young colt, venturing yet again away from his mother's protective gaze and out into the world. It wasn't long till he had found the trouble of the kelpi's den. Yet he had grown up now, his legs stretched further from the ground, and his eyes had aged with all the experience this one encounter had given him. It was time now that he grew up right?
Wrong.
The potential end of Chogan's life had seared itself so deep into Chogan's ever questioning mind that it practically roasted it well-done. He no longer sought out companionship, or the presence of another, because, that thought was always there, lingering in the back of his mind, tickling at his dreams and plaguing his thoughts.
He couldn't trust, and yet when scared, all he did was trust. His will was seemingly forever broken as he allowed any encounter he came to win against him. Every "Hey it's my food" or "Hey I saw her first..." Chogan would leave, without even so much as a single sigh. His submissive nature had left him to be cursed to practically do and follow any single soq's order. Thus was why he now traveled alone, even if he wished he had someone there with him.
His hooves sloshed through the mud as the rain continued to pour, sticking his hair to his face and tangling into his legs. It became too hard to travel in this, and Chogan did the only thing he could, he searched for shelter, finding it in the welcoming arms of a small cave.
He sighed, resting his head against the cold rock. It was better than being alone outside... Instead, he'd be alone inside...
It was better... Right?((OOC: I do not tend to ramble so much, but I couldn't seem to find a proper way to just get this to the point without an explanation behind his reasoning for everything.))

Eviotil ver Spitfire one creature to be feared, served and maybe a little bit of worship. However it was raining at current and she wanted to eat something's face. Sure it wasn't like she couldn't just use her power to keep her dry, but that was such a waste of energy. So, she was lurking in the back of a cave, waiting for things to dry out. Vanity would not let her walk out into the rain and simply get her feathers soaked. It was unsightly, and smelled almost as bad as wet fur.
Sniffing the air, something decided to take refuge in her cave, male and small in comparison from what she could see, though everything was small in comparison to her, stepping out of the shadows she snorted, red eyes glaring at him, "So what brings a timid little stallion like you out in this down pour, particularly to my cave?" It could have been a much nastier greeting, she could have simply killed him as he slept, but something about him smelled severely depressed and depressed prey did not taste nearly as good as happy prey.

Chogan was abruptly snapped out of his self-loathing when another, much larger female approached him. She wasn't just any female either, and Chogan's heart started frantically trying to climb its way out of its bony cage, practically scratching and screaming at the bone that kept it in its place.
His eyes widened but he instantly cast their gaze to her hooves. Chogan had always been a small stallion, smaller than most males, but never had he felt so...insect-like. His throat dried instantly, and he had to gulp down a thin and sticky swallow, more filled with air than nothing to keep him from whimpering.
"I-I- It's- It's wet...r-raining. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." He bowed his head over and over to her in respect, getting up and backing up towards the mouth of the cave, praying this wouldn't be a round two of his most haunting moment, only this time...the outcome would be different.

She stared somewhat baffled at just how spineless this stallion was. It flared a sort of anger she felt rarely, but it wasn't so foreign she couldn't put a name to it. She took a rather odd breath, then moved at a surprising speed for her size as a purple haze cloaked the front of the cave, licking around the edges like flames almost.
Her tail whipped, causing sparks against a rock, the bladed appendage looking very deadly, "You are the most weak willed little wuss that I have had the misfortune to run into." Her eyes narrowed and glowed, "However, I don't like large prey that has the taint of simpering and..." Her nose sniffed the air, "spinelessness." Taking steps toward him, "I think I can make you a worthwhile offer, if you choose, granted I could simply force you to do whatever I want, but given how weak you are, I'd like to see if there's even a spark of what you could be lurking in there."
Eviotil knew very well who this little idiot was related to. Knew the herd leader of his father, and in her odd travels had met his grandfather, granted it was a rather deep and irritating discussion, but she felt a little respect for the simple sincerity and force of will that stallion had. Obviously it hadn't trickled down to this pallid little...colt Eviotil thought with a disgusted sort of look on her face, she couldn't very well call this trembling child a stallion, granted he was an adult, but his personality was severely lacking.
"I give you a choice, become my minion, perhaps gain some strength, perhaps a spine, or continue on your way and become someone's prey no matter where you run." She seemed to grin with a rather distinct sort of lip curl, sharp teeth gleaming, the mouth of the cave covered in haze began to slowly shift and fade, revealing the downpour outside again, she looked at him expectantly, granted she was "giving him the choice", but he seemed too skittish to really think through her proposal at the moment.

Chogan gulped silently as he watched her display of power. His blue eyes searched the cave, his instinct of flight kicking in, but his intellect coming to the conclusion that there was no other way.
He couldn't help but compare her to...him. Her eyes just as angry, but her breed entirely different. Chogan listened to her as she insulted him. What he gathered was his life wasn't in danger, and she completely detested him. Lovely.
He at least stopped shaking.
"Become your minion?" He regretted asking this question aloud, even if it was rhetorical. He knew what she had said. Despite his fear and his frantic eyes, he was exceedingly intelligent and quick with his tongue if not panicked.
He stood up straighter, his body relaxing. "I'll stay with you." Leaving her, when she not only was offering him life but protection through duty would be the stupidest thing Chogan could think of doing. Working with her could allow him go gain the strength and knowledge he needed if he were going to continue running into evil soquili. So with that, he walked closer to her, bowing his head in a sign of submission. His curiosity both frightened and peaked. What had he just gotten himself into?

There was a smile on her cruel face that simply gave a chill to most of those that had seen it, "Good, you've taken your first step from being prey." She was surprised just a little by his direct decision, but that showed he had something of his grandfather.
She was already calculating what it was she'd have him do, where he'd go to build his endurance, ever strengthening himself, physically, and that obvious mental acuity, this boy would have work cut out for him, but he'd be smart enough to live through it.
"First, keep your mind as sharp as you can, and remember, even at the bleakest moment, a calm mind and a quick wit will save your skin faster than a swift kick." Sure strength like hers was a large benefit, but if she hadn't come to understand certain things in her experiences she wouldn't very well be where she was now, "No matter how fearsome a creature, if you're smarter than them, you have a good chance. Remember that."
Eviotil smirked and tapped her tail against a rock, "Come now, farther in away from the rain, and tell me your name, child. And Then you'll be telling me how you became such a simpering little weakling." She turned back to where she'd been before, the purple mist/fog/flame that had followed her shifted and moved, lighting a fire, and illuminating the cave for now, showing that this was a place she stayed often. Padding and softened dirt, bones from some of her snacks laid in a small pile near the back wall. This was really a liar of something fearsome.
