Chogan didn't have much of an attachment to his father's side. It wasn't that he didn't value them as much as he did his mother's side, but the bond between mother and son was so much stronger. All his life, Meykal, his father, had been distant, and Chogan watched with a broken heart as his love for another mare grew stronger, and his duty to his children and mare-of-his-children faded away. The young stallion had no malice intention or hatred in his heart for his father, but it still stung, like a bee to the rump... and Chogan wasn't exactly good with pain, or rejection.
Because of his past, and the events that dotted his timeline, Chogan was left with more questions than answers, and an opinion that the world was a dangerous place, and no one truly seemed to care. Yet his affinity for being alone crumbled when he saw the distinct markings upon the other stallion that dotted his own back, different in color, but still the same.
He knew... without a doubt he already knew. He trotted over, taking a closer look but never getting too entirely close. What would he say? What could he say? He had his grandfather's hair, however he did opt to wear a braid in it, like his mother's side, but it was still the same, long, silken hair that reached far past their shoulders. He gulped softly, trying to calm his nerves. What if his grandfather didn't even know he existed? Did his father even tell him? Setting his jaw, he moved closer, giving the other a short nod, wondering how the other would react to his presence.

Teykali had had some interesting run ins as of late, He had a sister a large family, none of them he remembered yet, he knew they were family, but it didn't bring up a click for him at all. He'd been wandering again and Topper had ventured somewhere, he wasn't quite sure where she had gone as of yet though. He was grazing a little, since it was a late afternoon rather than an early morning.
There was a noise. He tilted his head, the scar on the right side of his head very visible, and found a young ceyreni male looking at him, the stallion was oddly familiar in tone, his eyes striking to the older stallion, he blinked several times, curious as to who this young one was, knowing a familiarity that he was sure was not actually there. His head ached, scenes of a terrifying fight flashed for a moment, but it was pushed down because he could not focus if he paid attention to it.
Speaking softly, "And who would you be, young one?" He was genuinely curious, if this was another relation of his, perhaps he could finally gain some knowledge of who and what he was, actually remember, since his family seems to have had no idea what happened after he left on his own. No one he knew had known, "If this be your lands, I'll be on my way as soon as my companion returns to my side..." He did not want to offend anyone, but it seemed more that the other was curious of his presence not offended.
There was a momentary twitch of his ear, "Ah, where are my manners? I am Teykali. And you are?" He often forgot to introduce himself, despite it being the only thing he truly remembered.

Chogan watched the struggle in the older stallion's eyes, flickers of memory, pain, and confusion all wound up in brown orbs, similar in shape to his own. He moved closer, listening to the other as he spoke. Even his voice was like his father's. "I'm Chogan..." he answered shortly, moving away from the trees and closer to the other.
He listened as the other spoke, analyzing that voice that tickled his brain with familiarity. He was focusing so hard that he almost didn't even realize what the other way saying. "I was just passing through really," he answered sheepishly.
The other was clearly at a disadvantage, as Chogan could sense the internal struggle, but Chogan meant no harm to him, he was only curious. There was such a striking resemblance that it was almost too obvious.
"Teykali...that sounds kind of like my father's name..." he blurted out. He snapped his mouth shut, feeling heat rise to his cheeks. Way to approach this one... "But I mean...lot's of soqs have similar names." He want for the save, but if it went unnoticed or not, he wasn't sure.

Teykali nodded when the younger stallion introduced himself, and smiled, "Very interesting name, and this seems to be a way for many to pass." It wasn't really anything other than an observation, nothing more than idle chatter to reply to Chogan. Again he wondered where Topper had gone off to.
His thoughts were brought back to the current situation when Chogan spoke of his father having a similar name, though the stallion tried to cover for it, Teykali's mind flashed something, and the headache wracked his brain, but unlike his usual passing out response, he muscled his way through it with a mental wince and a smile on his face, "And what would your father's name be, Chogan?" His tone was pleasant, he wanted to know, genuinely curious.

Chogan didn't know if he should smile, or scowl at the comment on his name. His mother named him, before his father even had a chance to. Chogan meant blackbird. He had been given the name because he was the smallest of his siblings, even his sister. A runt... fitting he'd be named after a small bird.
His thoughts came to rest on the present when he looked back at his elder, watching the stallion's eyes become flooded with pain, only to smile back at Chogan. Something was happening under that expression, and Chogan was certainly curious. "Meykal...my father's name is Meykal."

He blinked a few moments. Meykal....Why was that name so familiar? What....where did...? There was a deep furrow in his brow as he looked at the younger stallion. His eyes closed gently as his mind flooded with the vision of a Deep brown mare, a skinwalker, golden eyes that held so much confusion, and anger...at him.
His mating.....because of some...circumstance he couldn't remember...and the baskets....Meykal and Emery....Teykali's eyes snapped open, "He's my son...." The words seemed to be a shocked sort of realization to him....He couldn't recall the mother's name, but he knew that the name was his son. There was a sad look on his face as he blinked against the ache in his skull, "I...haven't seen him in so long...He...left as soon as he had grown..." Teykali looked as the he was seriously hurt, remembering that Meykal hadn't exactly wanted to be around him...and Emery...he'd gone off somewhere else.
"I guess Meykal inherited his mother's wanderlust..." Of course his son would be less than normal...given that his mother was a cursed skinwalker, and tried to eat the baskets when she was done birthing the pair of colts. Oh, there was self-loathing in this stallions eyes, but it shifted and he smiled warmly, "So that would make you, my grandson." He looked so proud to be able to say those words. A kind of happy warmth that he hadn't felt knowing his sister..or his other family. This was his grandchild, even though he'd never met him, he still felt a sort of attachment that was hard to explain.
Now that he knew, "I would say you inherited more of the Flutter size than Meykal did. But you're not as small as your Grand Aunt. She's barely the size of a pony." He was trying so hard not to hug the stallion, Chogan was an adult, and that kind of affection might put him in an awkward place...no doubt Meykal wasn't terribly affectionate since he'd always been a bit standoffish, "I....don't even know where to start really, so forgive my rambling."
