Name: Graeme Daly (pronounced Grey-mm) Nickname: "Grae" is feasible, but would probably only net you a weird look. Age: 17 Birthday: January 3 Sign: Capricorn Gemstone: Garnet Blood Type: A- Fav. Food: Mashed potatoes with bacon bits. Hated Food: Peanut butter. Generally, anything that functions to glue your mouth shut upon eating. School: Azure Valley Academy (By scholarship, via his father's job in the military. His family isn't exactly well-to-do, so Graeme often feels out of place.) Hobbies: Model Building-- Graeme's tinkering, hands-on disposition as a child stayed with him as he grew. The shelves in his room are almost embarrassingly packed with historic tank replicas, tiny airplanes and a staggering array of Gundams. FPS-- Graeme almost exclusively plays shooters, and isn't too shabby at it, if he may say so himself. Whether it's war games, Team Fortress or Goldeneye 007, if it involves some furious aiming and clicking, Graeme's probably mastered it. His interests have been heavily influenced by his father, an Army soldier who used to take Graeme out to the shooting range or to play Airsoft rounds when he was a child. Disaster Movies-- Giant rampaging Godzillas, whirlpools sweeping away cities, aliens blowing up the Earth-- Graeme's got a keen, almost analytical interest in the topics of mass destruction and apocalypse. He tends to watch these movies detatchedly, as if they were some kind of fantastical experiment. This taste may again be subconsciously influenced by his father, whose career was steeped in war-- a destructive phenomenon in itself. Anyway, expect marathons of 2012, Children of Men or Independence Day if you're hanging out at his place. Reading-- Graeme considers himself a versed kinda guy, and makes an effort to pick up things like newspapers and Natural Geographics. He claims it "improves his vocabulary" (and provides arsenal for his needlessly long ramblings). Despite all this, you're most likely to find him reading superhero comics and manga. Classic Rock-- Expect LPs and CDs of the likes of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Paul McCartney littering his room and on repeat in his playlist. He likes to think of it as "cultured edginess." LIVE AND LET DIIIIE! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- PHYSICAL DESCRIPTIONEyes: Slightly narrow, with thin pupils. Warm brown. Hair: Medium gray, see ref for style: [x]Face: Sharp-featured; lean rather than round. Three small birthmarks, two above his eyebrow and one by his chin ( same ref).

Virtues:Grounded-- You won't find another 17-year-old with feet as firmly cemented to Earth as Graeme. Level-headed and sensible, he provides a voice of reason where appropriate (both a blessing and a curse-- once he starts up, who knows how long he'll go for). In a dangerous situation, Graeme's the last person who'd freak out (or let anybody see him, at least). He'll face the problem armed with common sense and the "experience" gained from watching god-knows how many worlds being blown up or eaten by zombies in movies. Perceptive-- The eyes don't lie. Years of gluing tiny struts to wings and sniping from virtual rooftops have benefited Graeme's observational skills. He's aware of himself and his surroundings, and quick to spot the tiniest details and peculiarities. This attention to detail often, however, results in him missing the obvious right in front of his nose. Craftsman-- As expected from his hobbies, Graeme's pretty good with his hands. While he isn't exactly a rippling model of physical strength, he's quick and deft with manual tasks. Currently, he's meandering towards an engineering focus to see if he can put use to his skills aside from sticking together mecha bits or fixing that broken desk leg of yours. Unexpected humor-- He may be a dry snarker with a tendency to run off with words, but even this can sometimes be the unlikely source for a few laughs. As far as he knows, this pseudo-intellectual wit has won him a smattering of friends here and there. Graeme, an entertainer? Yeah, he amazes even himself sometimes. Flaws: Cynic-- While not often outwardly expressed, Graeme tends to hold the darkest, most brutally realistic perception of things out there, and an inability to change said views. We're all just cogs, anyway, cogs in a system, so what's the use of hopes and dreams?! (His attentiveness to disaster-and-dystopia movies does nothing to help, either.) Graeme can be quite the downer once provoked, and very easily spiral deeper and deeper into negative-land. Which leads to... Defeatist-- That's it. It's over. I'm giving up! Once Graeme exhausts his catalog of practical solutions and gets into this state of mind, it's near impossible to rescue him from the depths of defeat. Once he loses his confidence, you're pretty much out of luck in trying to gain any cooperation. Henceforth, he will take to sitting forlornly at a side and snarking at your attempts to right the situation. Passive-- Not a leader by any means, Graeme's perfectly content to sit back and let everyone else order him around. He sees no reason to pitch in proactively, or to take the initiative. Expect minimal contribution (until threatened), but plenty of sharp words, if you're ever stuck in a group with him. Long-winded-- When a meaningful look crosses Graeme's face and he opens his mouth to speak-- run. What could easily be said in a couple words becomes a long, pseudo-scholarly spiel in Graeme-speak, rendering it completely incomprehensible to a normal human being. At this point, the listener's only options are to tune out, to tell him to get to the freakin' point, or to chuck something at his head. Whether faux eloquent, snarking, or filled with righteous indignation... when this boy wants to, he can go at it for ages. (This can occasionally work as a distraction when facing the enemy, but don't count on it.)

Negaverse Alias: Lieutenant Massicot Challenge: I’ll put you at ease. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Uniform: Military jumpsuit. At final stage, "post-apocalyptic hazmat suit" theme! Colors: Dark olive with crimson piping Weapon:1st stage: Coil of thick industrial hose, hanging at his side. 2nd stage: Fire extinguisher (color TBD), with long hose and spray gun head. 3rd stage: Pressurized air or steam gun, similar to a flamethrower in look. By this time his jumpsuit will have more hazmat/gasmask influence to it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHY NEGAVERSE?(CAUTION: tl;dr)For the most part, Graeme appears to be a sensible, (somewhat) normal high-school kid. Why would he join up with the Negaverse? Grame has been influenced heavily by his father in many aspects of his life, hobbies and nature-- whether he realizes it or not. The two were very close when Graeme was a child. Strong, brave, and humorous, and a soldier on top of that, his father was not only a role model to Graeme-- he was an idol. However, as the years passed, Graeme's family started seeing less and less of their father. Rising in the ranks, constantly overseas, fighting in strange lands for strange purposes-- it was during this time Graeme began to obsessively play shooters, to watch lives being swept away on screen, to scan the newspaper daily. It was his way of filling the hole that had grown within him, the cause of which only returned twice a year, which gradually became once, then once every other. His father was disappearing into the abyss of his career, and Graeme could do nothing but watch. In recent years, his father's sporadic returns marked a significant change in their relationship. A grim, hollow-eyed stranger came instead, one who had seen many things, and had no voice to say so. Graeme would sit tensely at the kitchen table, watching his father leaf mechanically through newspapers, silently screaming at him to say something, anything. This was not his father. War had taken his father, his laughing, beloved father, and left Graeme with merely a shell. Could war do things like this to a person? Could you watch millions of lives be destroyed, and not blink an eye? Could you kill a man and live with it? Graeme began to consider these questions. He looked at them practically, analytically, and-- increasingly-- cynically. He studies the ends of worlds and the wanton waste of lives, in various mediums, without blinking. Online, virtual bullets find their mark through virtual heads; he tops the game leaderboards once again. Is this what his father feels? It is all so impersonal. There's no other way to learn, to understand. He has to kill a man for himself, with his own hands. Detached, straightforward, sensible-- this is an experiment. This is putting everything he's "learned" to practice. Can he do it? Must you be a bad person to be the bad guy? Would an everyday highschooler missing his father work? Graeme would start out his Negaverse stint purely as an "experiment." He wouldn't fit in at first, awkwardly trying to keep aloof and objective from the twisted souls there. All he wants to do is see if he can-- physically and morally-- kill someone, to destroy something, to understand what his father goes through everyday. I imagine, though, that he would eventually overreach himself; his deep-seated cynicism would begin to consume him, leaving him--ironically-- as hollow and soulless as his father. He would slip into jadedness, killing without feeling; someone who, unfortunately, fits right into the mold of a Negaverse agent. If it comes to this, I'm hoping that with some help, he could eventually be redeemed...

...Massicot: The mineral...- One of the natural mineral forms of lead(II) oxide, PbO ...- Forms soft, yellow to reddish-yellow, earthy, scaley masses which are very dense ...- Forms as a result of other lead minerals' oxidation ...- Its dimorph is the mineral Litharge (both have the same chemistry, PbO, but different structures; also, Litharge is red) ...- Sometimes used as artists' pigment

Cpt. Jerrod Daly, 49 Graeme's father. Army captain, away for extremely long periods. Once a lively man who loved spending time with his family, he has drifted away due to work, and become listless and withdrawn. Graeme's mission is to find out why, in order to bring his "true father" back. Madeleine Daly née Pierce, 39 Graeme's mother. A frail, softspoken woman who nonetheless works her hardest-- often, too hard-- for the household in her husband's absence. Has poor health, made worse by worry over making ends meet, and sadness over her distant husband. Graeme is often forced to take on her duties, and to care for her, when she falls ill. Clement Daly, 11 Graeme's younger brother. Was sweet as a child; now in that awkward stage of pre-teen brattiness, which only causes more worry for their mother. Nonetheless, Clem's always held respect for his older brother Graeme, and views him almost as a father figure in absence of their true father. By the time Clem was born, their father had already begun drifting away, and as a consequence Clem did not know or respect him as much as Graeme did.
