Fukalite had been trying to fulfill her energy quota when the senshi arrived. As she saw it, she wasn’t really doing anyone much harm by draining energy. Unlike the past—something she had heard through the grapevine—civilians did not die from it. The worst that could happen was that they collapsed from exhaustion. They would wake up a few hours later, confused. That was all. Senshi, however, seemed to consider her actions in the wrong.
“Watch where you throw that thing, would you?” she wryly remarked as she watched the skirted senshi struggle to properly aim her energized attack at the lieutenant. Fukalite couldn’t help but be under the impression that the girl was new—not that she looked down on that. She was fairly new to the whole Negaverse business herself. On the bright side, Fukalite was beginning to get the hang of things. The senshi released another flimsy ball of energy. Sighing, she ducked under the glowing sphere, sprinting forward and punched her in the gut. The senshi grunted, but made no other move, allowing Fukalite to punch her again. The girl fell to the ground and hastily scrambled to her feet before frantically escaping.
Fukalite curiously tilted her head, too baffled to chase after the stranger and frankly, she could care less about pursuing a coward like her.

Hesperis had stumbled on the scene not too long ago, through the senshi had been the first to get involved. So instead the page had hidden as well as her glowing uniform allowed her to, and used the opportunity to watch their fighting, and study their auras. Camelot was right - they felt drastically different. The senshi felt pure. The negaverse girl felt... like a flurry, an hurricane. Troubled. Dark.
It wasn't too long before the senshi realized she had bitten more than she could chew, and ran off. Hesperis rolled her eyes. She'd seen that civilian, through she hadn't known exactly what had happened to that person. Except it was now passed out, and it didn't look pleasant.
In her mind, the girl hadn't gotten the beating she'd deserved. Well, it was time to change that.
"Well, that wasn't really impressive." She tsk'd as she stepped out of her hiding place, and it was unclear if she meant the senshi or Fukalite herself. Probably both. The dark-skinned girl just grinned. "Ready for a real fight, or you're gonna imitate ChickenMcScared over there ?"

The Negaverse were not all sparkles and rainbows, Fukalite had known that from the start. They were strict, with little room for leniency. They did not hesitate to kill, to threaten, to do whatever it took to reach the end of the line. Fellow comrades had informed her about the ragtag bunch called “senshi.” They lacked a concrete leader, and while some managed to form a team of sorts, most were on their own or occasionally paired with one or two others. It was like a 180 degree turn from the Negaverse.
On the other hand, she barely knew anything about the knights. Just that they existed. They were sometimes “good” and sometimes “bad.” Knights tended to stay neutral. That was all Fukalite knew.
She kept staring in the direction the senshi had fled to. “Unimpressive, indeed,” Fukalite agreed. She nonchalantly looked down to examine her nails. The lieutenant hesitated. This signature was different. It was not the dark familiar energy of a Negaverse nor was it the sickeningly pure energy of a senshi. Was this…a knight?
“Wow. When you put it that way, how can I possibly refuse?” she smirked, finally turn around to look the other girl in the eye. “I’ll give you the honor of going first.” She wasn’t being cocky—how could she, when she clearly lacked battling experience? But it was better to observe and get a grasp on the opponent’s style first.

"I know, I know, I was born a poet." It had been a long time since she'd gotten in a fight - a real fight. Before she started to go to St-Mags. She knew she had to behave, really, and she did, but there were still days where she missed it, missed the way it got her blood rushing.
And well, she figured this was a good reason, right ? Keeping people safe and all that.
She was offered first strike, and seemed more than glad to take it - a flick of the wrist summoned her staff, and she charged the lieutenant.

Fukalite cracked a grin. “Yes, you have such a way with words. I’m sure you could fetch quite a sum if you sell your beautiful work.” Like Hesperis, she attended St. Mags, but for reasons that appeared to be different—she had a penchant for skipping school, trespassing territory, trying things she shouldn’t have been trying. Sure, she had been embroiled in a few scuffles, but not on a regular basis.
She was both surprised and not surprised when Hesperis summoned a staff out of thin air. Yeah, Fukalite could do that too—but a staff?! All she had was a flimsy sparkler that could only emit sparks that irritated the skin. This was unfair. Very, very unfair. The page began to rush toward her and Fukalite moved to do the same, but as they neared each other she stopped and bent low to sweep her leg under Hesperis.

Oh, a fake at the last second. Smart, smart.
And better this way, really, it wouldn't have been fun to fight someone ejo had no damn idea what she was doing, really. What was the challenge in smacking someone who couldn't even fight back ?
Fukalite's foot was blocked by her staff, whom she still lovingly referred to as 'stick'. Sure, Hesperis had the advantage of the weapon... but she didn't have the advantage of truly knowing how to fight with said weapon, and it was noticeable with how she moved next - gave a sharp turn to try to knock the dark-haired girl off her feet, but not quite hard enough... Which left her wide open.

Fukalite might not have been as experienced in fighting as Hesperis was, but at least the lieutenant wasn’t a clueless idiot. It was unfortunate, however, that her sneak attack was successfully foiled by a quick movement. Her foot came to a rough halt once hit by the staff. She frowned at her failure, but wanted to check as the knight attempted to turn and use the force to knock Fukalite off her feet. “Nice try, hun,” she managed to whisper before scrambling to lean forward and ram herself into Hesperis’ legs in hopes of toppling her to the ground. Perhaps then she would garner enough time to squeeze in a few more blows.

...Yeah, she had no chance of stopping that one, not with the two of them being so close as is.
Hun ? Seriously ? She did her best to ignore it. It was easy, given that she hit the pavement right about then, sending a wave of pain from the sudden impact. Probably not enough to bruise, but enough to jolt.
Through this was problematic... For Hesperis, at least. She had no intention of handing those few blews to Fukalite on a sliver platter - she was already backing away as quick as she could - she couldn't get right back up with the agent right over her, and as long as she was down, the dark-haired girl had the advantage.

Hesperis was not the only one baffled by Fukalite’s choice of name-holder. She could recall encountering the odd nickname in a children’s novel—used by an elderly lady, but Fukalite took to the title so much she began to slip it into her own speech. Usually she referred to people by their names, but if she spoke to a person whose name she did not know—‘hun’ it was, and nothing was going to change that.
The knight was already scooting away from Fukalite, causing her to frown as she scrambled after the other girl. She wasn’t going to let her get away just yet! She leapt and tackled Hesperis, attempting to pin her down.

The negaverse agent apparently wasn't going to let her get enough distance to get back up, and so a change of plan seemed to be in order.
Sometimes just hoping didn't work, and you had to take what you needed. Hesperis had known this for all her life, and was applying it now. Fukalite went to tackle her, but she threw her legs upward, knees first, hoping the black-haired girl wouldn't have the time to stop and hit square on.

Fortunately for Hesperis, Fukalite’s momentum was quick and paired with the somewhat short distance, by the time she registered the knees it was too late for her to slow down. She landed right into the knight’s legs. The lieutenant hissed and instinctively began to scoot back, her arms protectively covering her stomach that would undoubtedly be covered in a large bruise the next morning. Lovely, just lovely. Grimacing, Fukalite attempted to stand up and take another swipe at Hesperis, but the pain in her stomach made it difficult to be quick.

Ha !
Really, Hesperis wasn't above dirty tricks at all.
This was all the time she needed to get back on her feet as quickly as possible, making the situation a little less disadvantageous for her. The staff raised to block Fukalite's blow, and then spun to try to hit her in the stomach again.
Strike metal while it's hot, as they said.
"Ready to run off crying yet ?"

Fukalite loved playing dirty tricks on others, but hated it when dirty tricks were placed on her. Not surprising at all. Needless to say, she was helpless when Hesperis lifted her staff to block her blow—she winced. Fist against staff did not make for the softest blow. Well, at least the lieutenant still managed the strength to stubbornly hold onto the staff.
“Not…quite.” She somehow mustered a smile, and her eyes seem to glitter oddly….
…as she ran away. Yes. She had no qualms about fleeing a fight. Fukalite never admitted she was much of a fighter and she never hesitated to escape when the time called for it. Call her a coward, but she wouldn’t mind. She still had a quota to meet, anyways. Now all she had to do was hope the knight wouldn't follow.

She hadn't run away crying, but she'd ran off all the same. As far as Hesperis was concerned, it was the same thing.
She pondered chasing her for shits and giggles, but eventually decided against it - not worth her time, really. Maybe they'd meet again.
She kind of hoped they would. She'd always enjoyed a good rival.
Now, through... Maybe she should find that senshi and show her a thing or two...
