I cosplay for pure entertainment. I think cosplaying is so much fun, and even before my anime time I dressed up for Halloween every year.
I also would some day like to preform a skit, but I haven't yet due to random issues. I would one day like to become so good at making outfits, and enter the craftsmanship contests.
Plus posing for pictures is a huge plus. However, I am not a camera whore >.<

For me, cosplay is a multitude of things. I love the feeling after I complete a costume (the 'I just made this... with my own two hands...' feeling), the chance to be someone else for a day, being able to dress up in something new and unique, and how easy it is for people to bond over something as simple as a costume.
I don't think I could ever narrow down my love of cosplay to one reason.

For me~ Cosplay is something fun to do, to get out and be someone else. It's also another multitude of things for me. Like: I can be someone i might to be (In anime.Manga) or i can do something different for a change, Show my inner self by cosplaying as someone i really look up to or my favorite character.

I do it cause its fun, and dressing up once a year on all hallows eve just isnt enough for me, that and there are props which usually means weapons of some kind and I am all over that ^.^
