It was nearing twilight when Nailah left the chambers, happy but exhausted with her nanny duties. Today had been a tiring day, looking after a litter of seven cubs. It didn't help that they were very loud and energetic and how she had to care for them. Thankfully she had the help of another nanny, but the other nanny was exhausted herself running after the little cubs.
It was a relief getting out of the temple and feeling the cool desert breeze. She let out a small sigh, and decided to go for a small walk before returning back to the temple for the night.

Patrolling never seemed to get old for Kiume. He always seemed to amuse himself somehow and it was always nice to keep himself busy during the days. He was just heading back to the temple from finishing a patrol shift and thankfully it was getting cooler. That was one thing about the desert that was mildly irritating and that was the heat. The midday sun could take down the strongest of lions.
Kiume continued walking back to the temple when he spotted a female leaving the temple. He knew a lot of lions but he didn't know this female... He would definitely remember if he had met her at one point. Should he say something to her? His mind was racing as the two lions got closer and closer together.

Nailah noticed the approaching figure and slowed down. Oh, it was one of the guards! She had seen him from afar many times before, but never had the chance to talk to him. The lioness put on her friendly smile, bowing her head slightly in greeting once she was close enough.
"H-hello sir." she was feeling like that small little cub again, at a loss for words. If only she would stop being so childish every time she met someone new.

Gazing at Nailah as they finally came together, Kiume found himself completely tongue tied and unable to speak. He couldn't help but chuckle nervously to give him time to find his voice. "Hello t-there. I-it's starting to get dark. Why are you leaving the temple?" That was really the only thing he could think of. Kiume knew that he wasn't exactly smooth with words and this interaction would probably only further that point. Stuttering had always been a problem for him no matter how hard he tried to control it. He always just got so nervous especially when he was talking to pretty females...
