... on account of the opinion of a busted scale, being irritatingly weight-conscious and vocal about it, and not wanting to work the weight off. She is 180 MAYBE and she's freaking out at everybody. She literally cries in her room about it when there are people hanging out at her place doing NOTHING.
What do?

The last time someone skinnier than me was bitching about their weight, I pointed out that I was much fatter than them, then I lifted my shirt, grabbed my gut and shook it at her and said THIS IS FAT.
She never mentioned it again.
So find a fatter chick and have her do that.

I kinda ignored my weight for a long time and then I found out today I was like, 215 lbs. And I was like "Jesus I have waited too long. Time to do something."
Crying doesn't do anything. Tell her to wake up and work out, if she wants to see any change.

180 is not THAT bad. I could still lift her on a litter if she were my patient.
However, I don't think it's a healthy weight either (not that I have any room to talk at the moment). If she really is planning on becoming anorexic tell her that can kill her. Tell her to focus on being healthy instead of thin. Have her sign up for one of the free diet websites. I use sparkpeople.com because it has forums you can ask questions, and focuses on healthy eating and being nutritionally balanced. I did away with the suggested menu and just input what I eat and keep my calories/proteins/carbs/fats in check.
Hope she doesn't starve herself though. sad

Arianah ...However, I don't think [180 is] a healthy weight either... This TOTALLY depends on her height.

She's on a diet, she said. Cutting out once-a-day Starbucks runs. neutral Love her to death, but I hope she doesn't snap and kill someone.

lol that is some diet there. neutral
Tell her to start going for walks or cutting carbs out of her diet. That really helps.
