Iaman stopped for a moment after sliding off the dragon's back to turn and pat him gently on the shoulder, whispering a murmured thanks for the Search-and-rescue. The dragon and his rider - an amiable enough man - lifted off almost immediately.
Both boys stood there in awe, Dragon's reins dangling from Iarodan's hand, as the blue's wings made a powerful downstroke and they lifted off, making a straight vertical ascent for the first length off the ground. Then they zipped away, landing on a ledge some four storeys up and disappearing into one of many holes in the wall of the great Bowl.
As one, they turned to each other, eyes shining. "Did you see that, 'Mana? Did you see him fly?" Iarodan seemed caught up in wonder, and it was no shock: raised in Keroon, they were far more familiar with runnerbeasts than dragons.
Iaman's eyes narrowed and his voice grew short and clipped. "'Rodan. What are you doing?" He leaned toward his brother, so as not to make too much commotion. "I'm Iaman. Iamana is dead." He crossed his arms.
Eyes widened briefly, and then Iarodan's face softened and he smiled. "There's no one here right now, Iaman. Sorry, though. I won't do it again." He draped one arm over Iaman's shoulders and sighed. "I'm going to miss her, though."

(Since I just got cleared to go)
Some distance from the boys a Bronze landed, one of the passengers slid off the shoulder, and stood to untie a pack from the dragons straps, then trotted out of the way so N'var and Fayth could take off again. The once passenger watched for a moment until the pair vanished into a weyr. They then turned and took off the riding helmet to shake red hair loose.
She looked around a moment to get her bearings then spotted the two boys. Malidy made her way towards them, and once within hearing shot she called,
"Hey are you two candidate drop off's too?"
Malidy wasn't used to not knowing people, and wanted to make friends to fill the void from leaving her friends. She was also hoping they may know better where they were supposed to go.

Upon hearing a voice, both boys whirled, and their postures changed. It was so smooth an action it was barely noticeable, but the shorter, tidy-haired boy wound up beside and just very slightly behind the one with the mussy hair and gregarious smile. Aside from these features, however, they were identical, and from a distance it would not be possible to tell them apart.
The foremost boy, wearing a friendly, disarming smile and a cheery sparkle in his eyes, stuck his hand out. "Hello, there. Yes, we're candidates. I rode up on Dragon here," and he indicated the runnerbeast tethered to him, "and my... brother got a lift from the Search dragon."
Iaman, for his part, was silent, a blank, slightly bored expression on his face. He lifted a hand in greeting, but did nothing more. His eyes, cool and sharp, were darting about, taking in every aspect of the Weyr around them while his brother made acquaintances with this other candidate.

She had seen them. She was quite sure of that. Two dragons had just landed. More candidates? Hopefully! She hadn't met any of the others really, mainly she had just talked with a few of the new weyrlings. And she wanted people to talk to. So, there Tasryn was, hurrying towards the bowl in an effort to get there and greet the newcomers before they wandered off. A blue streak passed her and speed ahead, intent on reaching the new two leggers and inspect them. Tidus needed to know that these ones were good enough for his.
Rolling her eyes slightly, the girl picked her pace up into a sprint and soon enough caught up with her flitter. Panting slightly, she came to a stop and eyed what looked like three new candidates. Two boys and a girl. Well, more boys. Lovely. Shoving those thoughts from her head, she slowly made her way towards the small group. As soon as she was within earshot, a friendly grin began to pull at her lips and she came to a stop not too far from them. " 'Ello there! New candidates I'm guessing. Would ya like any help finding your way about?" She could help! Tas had managed to map out in her head most of the Weyr by now. It was a real good thing she was so good at mapping things out.
Tidus managed to make a semi graceful landing on her shoulder, his tail immediately wrapping itself around her neck and his front claws attaching to her shirt. He did not want to fall off and make a fool of himself. These were strangers. And he was gonna protect what was his!
[Needed to throw Tas in somewhere. She needs some interaction with people.]

As another, distinctly female voice fell on their ears, Iaman stiffened, and Iarodan relaxed. With a friendly grin on his face, Iarodan turned to the new arrival. "Well, we might, at that." He chuckled ruefully. "We sort of got dropped here and left. We don't even know where we're supposed to go!"
"We ought to see the Headwoman." Iaman muttered, mostly to his brother. "And she can probably tell us where to go." He placed one hand on Iarodan's arm, seeking reassurance in a private way.
Iarodan laughed, eyes locked on his brother's. "But how would we find the Headwoman in the first place?" He turned to face the newcomer, warmth in his face. "I'm sorry, we've been rude. My name is Iarodan, son of Manarodan of Keroon Hold. This is my brother, Iaman." The hand on Iaman's back applied pressure, making him step forward.
Eyes down and red in the face, Iaman muttered, "Hello", toward the girl's feet.

Malidy nodded and opened her mouth to answer the larger of the brothers only to stop when the flitter came near. She'd seen plenty of flitters, but she'd never seen one after being on a dragon, now she compared the two beasts in her mind even as she was waving a greeting to the girl.
"Hello, I just got here too, I was actually thinking of looking for the Headwoman myself." She said while looking at Iaman, "I was thinking of starting to look in the kitchens?"
When Iarodan introduced himself and his brother, Malidy smiled. They were from Keroon hold, she looked at them harder, trying to recall if she might have seen them at a gather before.
"I'm Malidy, daughter of Malicadon of the Keroon Beast craft hall."

Gray hues squinted at the sounds that arose not too far away from the lithe figured brunette, a flash of blue flittered across the sky just for a moment before the shimmering scales disappeared completely out of view to the lithe framed tomboy. With a grunt Quindrife pushed herself up from the spot that she had claimed tucked away in a shadowed nook, if slacking off from chores was an art form then the muscular teenage would be considered a highly skilled maestro in the craft; uplifting her bandaged hands to her face Quindrife cupped the curvature of her jaw on both sides before popping her neck loudly.
‘New blood in the Weyr,’ happily mused the brute as she concentrated solely on the voices that carried on the subtle breeze. ‘shards, I should get up and go introduce myself. Maybe if I am lucky there will be some cute new girls--- pff--- don’t even think about it you know you aren’t that lucky Quinnie.’ Stroking the smooth skin of the underside of her chin the Weyrbrat straightened her posture and began to make her way towards the congregation of new faces.
Folding her long defined arms behind her head the tomboy leisurely strolled closer to the group however paused nonchalantly some distance away sizing up the four figures that conversed between themselves, thumbing the side of her nose Quindrife found a lopsided grin forming at the corners of her mouth; new candidates. Keeping silent the tall brunette puffed her chest outward and kicked at the ground some, clearing her throat the tomboy called out in her gruff boyish falsetto voice.
“Hoy! Welcome to Ista Weyr!”
(gosh I am so out of practice)

Malidy glanced when movement caught her eye, like it always did. One had to keep an eye out when in the fields with the animals. She watched the what appeared to be a young man walking towards them from a dark part of the of the bowl, where it was undoubtedly cool out of the sun. Though she wasn't sure why, Malidy felt the desire to flaunt her own muscles when the figure approached with their arms on show case. She watched as the other person puffed out her chest. Oh yeah her, for sure, she hadn't heard a voice like that since a crawler found its way into one of the boys beds. Not that she had anything to do with it.
"Thank you."
she said looking at the girl, measuring her up. Then looked to the others to see how this person would be received by the others.

Tasryn chuckled and reached up to lightly rub Tidus' head. "They do that a lot. Dropped me here and took off real quick like when I arrived." But there was a reason for that. She knew. Talking about it was not an option though. Ah introductions! Of course, how could she have forgotten that! The brunette almost slapped her forehead. "From Keroon? All three of ya, huh? Well it's nic-" Just as she was ending her sentence, another voice was there welcoming them to the Weyr. Wait? Was that welcome including her? She'd been here!
Wrinkling her nose in slight amusement, Tas turned her body slightly to welcome this new person. Another boy? Wait.. Amber eyes narrowed slightly before a small grin tugged at her lips. Nope! It was a girl! Good, there should be more girls around. Not that she cared either way. Clearing her throat, the girl tried to think if she had seen this female around. Annddd, no she hadn't. Oh well, another new friend! "Hello to you too." She called back, raising a hand in greeting before turning to the other three. "I'm Tasryn, by the way. Of the Starcraft hall, good to meet ya." The brunette made sure that her voice was loud enough for the other female to hear it.
Why was she so far away, anyways?

Kaila was trying to breath while running after her gold flit, Kiric. The flit was doing what it did best, steal anything shiny that she owned to make her chase the creature. It seemed to be the flit's favorite pastime. Kaila was used to Kiric doing that, but in the weyr, Kaila still didn't know her way around the place.
"Kiric-c! Give that-t back!"
She had healing lessons to get to afterall, but stopped for a moment, trying to catch her breath. Kaila brushed her hair out of her eyes and glanced towards a group of people. She bit her lip as she wondered if she should introduce herself to the group. However Kiric changed direction in flight and headed towards the group, dropping the pendent onto the ground near them.

There was a proper crowd around them now. Iarodan was thrilled; he rather liked people, and it showed in the way his smile grew with each new addition to the group.
Iaman was less comfortable with the situation. He shifted closer to Iarodan's side. He wore a smile, but it didn't reach his eyes. This was just wonderful - surrounded by people, right off the bat, without so much as a chance to put their few things down. A beastcraft girl, a candidate girl who seemed she'd been here for awhile, a strange figure that stood a length or two off, leaving Iaman unsure as to the person's gender - and now it looked like a younger girl was coming this way.
A pendant dropped into their group, and Iarodan bent to lift it from the ground. Leaving his brother's side for the first time, he walked over to the younger girl and held it out. "Is this yours, by any chance?" He wore a disarming smile and a sparkle in his eye; his lean frame was relaxed and casual. He wasn't sure why, but this girl seemed... easily threatened.
For his part, Iaman was left unsure. The empty space his brother had occupied left half of his body cold. He cleared his throat. "So... where are the kitchens?" His voice was high for a boy's, but not unreasonably so, and it seemed to fit him in a strange sort of way. It commanded attention - even when he spoke in a bored sort of near-monotone.

Malidy was on so glad to see people coming out of the wood works, she hadn't been popular at the Hall, but she'd had a lot of people she considered friends. She wasn't to sure what she'd do without friends. Her own smile though relaxed when she noticed how. . . uncomfortable Iaman seemed. She was worried a little, could someone who seemed so uncomfortable around people impress a dragon? But then again she didn't know what a hatchling was looking for anymore than anyone else did. She wanted to move closer and reassure Iaman but didn't want him to think she was flirting with him or something.
"Ah that I have no idea on. I guess that's what I get for not asking questions."
She looked after Iarodan a moment then to the tomboy who didn't seem to want to be close to them, and back to the young lady who first welcomed them.
"But I trust that our fellow candidate wouldn't mind helping us out a bit?"

Strutting up to the group Quindrife had observed enough to set her mind at ease, the two boys that were near mirror images of each other were harmless enough and the meeker of the pair was as skittish as a newborn herdbeast. It was rather endearing in a way, he was one of those types of boys that she liked to hang around and protect because it made her feel better about herself. Crossing her arms over her small built chest Quindrife found herself stand beside the one known as Tasryn, the face of the girl was more than familiar to the lean figured brunette she had seen her again and again around the Weyr at night standing by herself. At last she finally had a name to go with the stargazer.
“Quindrife,” her tongue numbed and dried as she felt suddenly uncomfortable standing so close to three females. “I mean--- my name is Quindrife. No craft just a Weyrbrat . My daddy is a harper here.” Casually stated the tomboy as she brought her hand up to her face and snubbed the side of her nose out of habit. Lowering her arms to her petite waist the tomboy fidgeted with the bandages that clung to her knuckles and wrists, glancing up she caught the very end of what one of the lads had said.
“The kitchens? I could show you where those are. Or um--- Tasryn could if she wants or if you prefer it. Either way I would be happy to help you all out.” Brushing her long bangs out of her face Quindrife offered a polite smirk towards the group then fell into silence.

It was strange to watch: as the figure neared, and her gender became identifiable, she seemed to be strutting. She walked like she owned the place, certainly. Was she the Weyrwoman's kid or something? Both boys wondered. Yet, as soon as she was properly in the group, her entire demeanor shifted and she began to fidget.
Iaman did his best to hide the fact that he was examining her closely, keeping his face averted and his arms crossed, a disinterested expression on his face to cover his own nervousness. She's a strange one, that's for sure. She almost looks like a boy... Iaman forced down the sudden desire he felt to trust this person - Quindrife, apparently.
Running one hand through his mussy hair, Iarodan chuckled softly. His laugh was wild, filled with abandon; a child's laugh in a young man's voice. "I'm Iarodan, and this is my twin brother, Iaman." Once again, he pressured Iaman forward, ignoring the ever-so-brief glare he shot his larger brother's way.
Just a hint of colour in his cheeks, Iaman gave it one last effort. "I think we could find our way, 'Rodan. We don't want to put them out." He focused intently on his brother, their eyes meeting and connecting in a moment of silence. With a frustrated sigh, Iaman looked away.
"Why don't we all go?" The broad smile on Iarodan's face was as if nothing had transpired between himself and his brother. He draped one arm loosely over Iaman's shoulders and waited for someone to lead the way.

Eyes blinked as a gold flit headed towards them before dropping something shiny on the ground not too far. Hm, wasn't that familiar? Amber eyes darted around before catching sight of what she was looking for. Ah, she was right. It was Kaila, she remembered her from the feast. Her mouth twitched slightly as she recalled the events from the feast but nothing else showed. Not that she would ever show something like that, especially around people.
Her attention was brought back to the present as soon as one of the boys asked about the kitchens. Oh right. Tasryn's mouth opened to agree to show them to the kitchens. That was the reason she had approached them after all. But before she could even utter a sound out, the girl who had been standing a bit away approached and stood next to her. Quindrife? Her gazed shifted to the surprisingly tall girl and took in her appearance for a moment before casting a grin out towards the small group. "Right, the kitchens. I'm sure Quindrife and I can manage to get ya there!"
Her head tilted to the side slightly as she thought something over. "Oh, but did ya want to put your bags up first? Carrying around all yer stuff could get heavy and all."
