Zero Dream

((Shoot, I'll ask a mod to move this over to the rift :< sorry about that!))

Serandite thought that the entire place was very unsettling. The General was perched on some rubble inside the rift, sitting on a broken wall. Tanzanite had assigned her to combat here of all places and while Serandite was happy to oblige to the challenge, she hadn't anticipated it to be so nervewracking. As honorable as it was, it was like being in a horror movie. Except it couldn't be turned off with a remote. It was a matter of life and death hanging in the balance. Even for a girl with nerves of steel like Serandite (well, more like ropes that hung by a thin thread,) she didn't like the consuming stares .. it came from countless sources and she didn't even know where to start.

Few trusted her in this place .. and she trusted few back. The number was really in the negatives. Serandite sat there, firmly squashing feelings of nervousness for fear that the creatures would catch on and attack. Confidence, confidence, confidence. That was her mantra. Instead of sitting here nervously, she could go over battle strategies in her head!

So that was what Serandite was doing, muttering to himself and gesturing to air, organizing her thoughts.

The Rift still made her nervous. Really, was there one person even able to remain truly unsettled by this place, even more so by how they entered it ?

Well, beside General Queen Tanzanite herself, perhaps.

Still, this had to be done, she knew. Training was important, as so far she hadn't managed to do much with her weapons. Sure, she was extremely glad for her knives. She'd researched them. Kunai. Meant to be throwing knives.

Except the throwing part... wasn't exactly easy. At all.

She certainly would be glad to be in the presence of a general, through. A general she knew, even - they'd met once, what seemed to long ago now. She'd been the cataclyst of a chain of events that had eventually saved her brother from the fate that had been intended for him.

"General Serandite !" She called out, as she stepped near the girl.

"Lieutenant." Serandite confirmed, the voice interrupting her thoughts. But that was good since she had just about concluded it. She easily jumped down, her pink heels landing softly with the unsteady floor.

Serandite nodded, clapping her hands enthusiastically. She had it all ready for the newly promoted Captain. Ready.. set.. go! She did a little twirl too, her foot digging in decisively into the ground as Fluorite faced directly in front of the General. With a dramatic flourish, her arm lifted in a slanted angle to point at the Captain. Her voice was solemn but the air crackled with cheerful and absolute determination.

"Congratulations on your promotion to Captain! It's a lot of work but since it's you, I'm sure you can handle it! How's captainhood treating you so far?" Serandite eagerly asked, keeping her attention concentrated on the negaverse female but keeping her defenses up against creatures in proximity.

After all, the rift wasn't a place for idle conversation for long.

She'd been just about to correct Serandite on her 'lieutenant' before she seemed to notice for herself. Better this way, because, that would have been awkward, really.

"It's going pretty well so far." Fluorite said with a nod. Not perfectly - no, there was no way she could say that - but things could have certainly gone worse. "My weapons are... the one thing that give me the most struggle." At these words, she summoned them - two kunai, one for each hand. "These... are meant to be throwing knives, I believe, but I... am not very good at the throwing part..."

She couldn't help keeping an eye out as she spoke - there were youma lurking nearby. There were always youma lurking nearby...

"Not very good at throwing, huh?" Serandite repeated, almost asking the girl if she had practiced with them. but naturally, that was a rather insulting question derived of common sense. Of course the female had practiced-- although one couldn't help the fact that affinity did not immediately build upon meeting between weapon and meister. It was a difficult relationship that must be built.

"Today, we'll use your weapons then." Serandite stated .. although, without signal, that was just the beginning of their match. Almost immediately, following her sentence, a large black shape with red eyes loomed behind the captain .. and one fiercely huge arm swung downwards in an attempt to smash the captain like swatting a fly.

Battles never did start with a signal. Perhaps, usage of her weapon during the heat of battle would cause some improvement.

Oh Crap.

It was a good thing Fluorite had felt the youma behind her, else she might have ended up pancaked. Thankfully, that did not happen - and the tiny captain darted out of the way before the arm could hit her.

One knife went flying through the air then, not very well-aimed thanks to the sudden surprise, so there was no telling if it would hit, or if the throw would end in catastrophic failure.

"Your first task? Defending." Serandite's voice was somewhere behind the captain. The knife might have been a poorly aimed hit but it was about to weakly tear into the rabbit weapon's weak fabric--- until a pink heel knocked it out of the way.

"Anything's good. Teleporting, calling your weapon back to you .. Or fighting against me and Loppy at the same time." The sentence ended with show of teamwork, as the rabbit's paws came together to form a sturdy footing for Serandite to kick off into a soaring jump above the Captain. Serandite was kicking from above, the end of a pink heel intended to flatten some part of the Captain's body.

Any part of it really. Pain was a good learning factor.

....Oh, so, not a youma. Of course she saw it now. All these lingering youma were doing little to soothe her, really.

Which was probably the point.

Teleporting she knew had to be her last ditch option - from her limited experience with it, it tired her way too much to be any good.

Through that was when Serandite came crashing down, hitting right into Fluorite's side, sending the captain backward, through somehow she managed to stay upright.

Pain was a good learning factor, indeed.

Through, of course, she needed to stay aware of the bunny, too... Her other knife was fired in it's direction while she aimed a punch at the general.
