Talia's flip flops echoed with each step she took. The night was cool, but not unpleasant. It was that air where long summer talks were held, fireflies floated through the air and children stayed up a bit later than normal with excitement for the next day.

However, Talia was not feeling any of those warm fuzzy sentimental feeling at the moment. In fact, quite the opposite. She was in a bit of a depression over the whole senshi thing. Naught but a few days ago she was a happy girl at camp, having to stay with children and dealing with the typical woes of a teenage girl- what clothes to wear, which boys were cute and grades at school. Now she was suddenly Sailor Draconis the wonder senshi who had the task of saving the world.

It was too much for the poor girl to simply take all at once, which was how she liked to deal with things. She was the type who worked on something until she finished. Taking it in stride was terribly difficult for her, and that was exactly what she was being expected to do.

Originally Talia just just planned to take a quick stroll and then return back to the cabin to sleep with Griffin and the other girls, but Talia's feet had a different plan. Somehow she had ended up on the dock of the lake, just staring at the full moon that had planted itself in the sky tonight. The setting was rather romantic really, but Talia's thoughts were too jumbled to notice. She just kept staring out into the distance, not really focusing on anything inwards or outwards. It was an odd sort of limbo that she couldn't seem to break herself from.

Griffin sighed loudly as she tossed and turned in her bed. Maybe it was the humidity of the cabin, the knowledge of a giant spider sleeping over Castille or the run in with an opossum earlier in the day that still had her wired up, but she just couldn't sleep. Then again, it could have something to do with that new senshi she'd met a few days ago. She'd never been there to see a senshi awakened before. She'd left rather abruptly, too, to make sure Talia was safe. Something about her friend seemed flustered and Griffin was guilt ridden that she'd been endangered because she wanted to go on some silly neature walk.

Rolling over in her bed with an even louder exhale, the girl stared out the window, trying to think. She should really try to find that senshi again and help her in the ways other older senshi had helped her sorry butt. But she also felt an obligation to Talia. Maybe she shouldn't hang around her so much or talk her into going into the woods for a full week. She didn't want to be responsible for putting anyone's life in danger. She was supposed to get people out of it as a senshi. Griffin held her breath as she slipped out of her bed, into a pair of shoes and out the door trying not to wake anyone. She was a confident enough nature-goer to not be afraid of walking around a camp at night. Maybe she'd also check on some of her campers in the Azalea cabin and make sure no one was up to any mischief. All the more responsibility that she was burdened with.

As she walked aimlessly, she felt herself drawn towards the lake, as though there was some greater purpose for her there. It wasn't until she was nearly on the dock that she noticed a form silhouetted against the reflection of the moon on the lake. Griffin nearly jumped out of her skin and thought the worst- a youma! But realistically it was probably just a camper who snuck out for a night swim. Maybe she was there to skinny dip with a boy. Ew.

The girl hadn't noticed Griffin approach yet, so she got closer. However, she was in for quite the surprise when she found Talia standing at the edge of the dock. Griffin thought she'd seen the lumpy form of her friend in her bed as she left. Whoops. Slowly and quietly Griffin walked closer, her bangs hanging across her eyes humbly. "Isn't it a lovely night, Talia?" She walked until she stood alongside her friend and stared contemplatively out on the water.

A voice behind her startled her out of her thinking, but her shoulders visibly relaxed when she realized it was just Griffin. What a pleasant thought: just Griffin. After all, she wasn't just Talia anymore. She was Talia and Sailor Draconis.

This was too complicated.

Talia brushed her hair out of her face and patted the "seat" next to her gently. "Only the most beautiful night for the most beautiful girl," she said with a sly smile. Banter was normal among the twosome, but tonight it really helped Talia feel "normal" again. Normal was hard.

Looking out into the moonlit night, Talia couldn't help but feel sentimental. This was the stuff of fairytales and princess stories. Talia looked at Griffin. Griffin wasn't much of a prince, but for tonight she would do.
