Okay, Here is my thread for any and all to post their current questions and problems in the game. Anything at all is up for grabs, from "What are Megards good for?" to "What kind of people are in Megalopolis?" to "Is this power too strong?" Whatever questions or requests you have, this is the place to ask.
If you aren't comfortable asking the questions here, then don't hesitate to send me a private message.

A few questions, suggestions, and other things....
I think occasionally for newcomer's to gain megards or experience or whatever you should have guild-wide/city-wide events. I'd think that'd be cool.
I think they're should be other tasks simpler that don't require clients sort of like achievements like if you're homeless getting a job, filling out an application, or gaining a certain amount of begging money. Another exmaple is if you're new to the city you have to find you're way home from the store, school, or something like that. So people won't have to mess with people from day one they can gain a little literacy on their own. I mean they can always pick their quests themselves.
I think that's all I got for now, but I'll be back, I always come back. Tee hee. smile

Thank you for the suggestions!
What you're saying is we should have maybe a Beginner's Mission system, which might include such tasks as "Find a place to stay", "Meet someone new", "Take on your first mission", etc. The purpose of this would be to get people acquainted to the ways and workings of Megalopolis. Correct? That's a very interesting idea that I will bring up for discussion! Hopefully we can do something with it.
Also something else I saw you mention was Achievements? I'm always one for those, but it might be difficult to make a list of objectives that everyone can do. But also what I think you mentioned was more of... player-specific achievements? That would also be interesting, but also very difficult to do. It would basically require everyone to choose a set path and destiny, etc. That's not something we're trying to do here; it's more of an open, free place! Depending. Though I do like the idea of somewhat easy, simpler achievements that most people can do. I'll bring it up, as well!
Guild-Wide Events are something that I'm fairly positive will happen. In my eyes, they would be like "story arches" that would give everyone (and every character) a basic theme for the arch, and have them decide on the future of Megalopolis. Say, for example, there's an even where a rift in the space-time continuum has brought future creatures into the city. Heroes will need to determine if they should find a way to send them back or make a place for them in the world, while villains will need to determine if they should destroy the creatures or find a way to use them to their advantage. Those would be the basic plot points, but whatever everyone decided to do aside from that (perhaps the heroes association and the villains association ended up working together to disperse the creatures) would ultimately determine the fate of Megalopolis and its' society following the arch. And of course rewards would be prevalent. wink
Thank you again for the suggestions! I'll see where we can go with them!

You can always do a one x one / private group role-play, or you can go to the cross-over grounds and join anyone there. wink

Would those interactions be counted into the grand scheme of the story?

Depends. Unless special circumstances are made (which I don't think will really happen) characters' abilities aren't even suppose to grow outside of missions. So... in these side role-plays you are interacting in the Megalopolis world, but I don't think it should change anything. Now, if you do something like... rob a bank, it might be talked about in the missions. You know, referenced by other characters. But that's about it, really.

Agreed with Barton Hallow. Most of the Crossover Medium stuff and one x one role plays do not greatly affect anything from what I've seen. It's just social interaction and a way to get used to both your character and everyone else's

Those things are more for individual character development, from what I understand.

Collectively Carson I think occasionally for newcomer's to gain megards or experience or whatever you should have guild-wide/city-wide events. I'd think that'd be cool. I'd definitely not exclude that sort of thing. I haven't had time to definitively plan one out yet, but there is no doubt that there will be Megalopolis-wide events some time in the future. Collectively Carson I think they're should be other tasks simpler that don't require clients sort of like achievements like if you're homeless getting a job, filling out an application, or gaining a certain amount of begging money. On this, I am a little more hesitant about making this sort of plan. Not because I oppose the idea, but that I definitely don't know if I have the time to comb through each thread and go "You made a friend!: 30 megard reward." not only that, but it becomes an issue with making sure that there is an equal distribution amongst all the players. I don't want to start fueds over people feeling slighted by not getting enough arbitrary rewards for their daily life roleplaying. I do want to institute a way for people to be recognized for excellent roleplaying, but I am still trying to come up with a fair and balanced system and reward for it Also, remember, while Megards might be the system of reward and currency for the guild, it is also, along with the US dollar, currency in the city. No one (but the Association leaders) is wealthy in this game, most just getting by with meager comfort, but they are not starving, homeless or penniless (unless you design your character that way). Collectively Carson Would those interactions be counted into the grand scheme of the story? These three hit the nail right on the head. The Crossover and Private roleplaying is so you get a chance to write, spread your wings and develop character. Your story is one among thousands of those going on in the city. One or two small events won't change that, unless something extraordinary happens, which it probably won't without deferring to either me or one of the Crew. Collectively Carson I know there's only a few people but dang. I'm ready to write... I wish I had a mission Well, I know that The Spirit That Screams is looking for heroes. And don't hesitate to make up a location and post it in the Crossovers subforum. As long as you don't level the city, I am not opposed to people making their own open threads for anyone to join.

I think as we develop the world all the artists in the guild should construct a map of the known world like how Dresden Street and all that stuff so we can visualize how close everything is.
We should probably have a thread so we all can make a few places that'll will be used a lot in the story like Kirby Plaza in the Hereos series.

I think that would be a cool idea, though we are a little small yet for a full map, though if anyone wanted to play with the idea, don't hesitate to do so! If you want to get a vision for where Megalopolis sprang from and is generally located, I thought it would be funny if it was originated in a small town in the middle of nowhere, like Morgantown, WV. (Look it up on Google maps) I don't want to use any of that town's actual street names (except by accident, I am not really monitoring that closely), but it looks like a fairly diverse area, with lakes and rivers. I am not from the area, of course. I throw the location out just because that is sort of my mental vision of where it is, though its not like it is anything that needs a Definitive Location in relation to the real world.

As I have already been given the OK by Cuprous to create a University in the Crossover section (since there are a few characters in college) I want to get on that. (If a Crew member thinks that they would rather be in charge of creating by all means...) My question is though, what to call it. I have been going between Megalopolis University, William Carter College and the like... if someone could help me come up with a better name or tell me that they like any of these then that would be great.

You can name it anything you like! Make up someone famous from Megalopolis' past, name it for... your grandma... whatever works! Even Megalopolis University sounds good.
If you wanted, you could name it after one of the important past leaders of the Heroes Association. In order of leadership;
Richard Sinclair -- Dean Walker -- Gregory Willows -- Stephen Vella -- Margaret Beth -- Thomas George
Dean Jacobs was also an important figure (he was the second in command during the lead of "Dean Walker", forming the "Dean Team").
But, as I said, it's totally up to you!
