Some of you may be wondering, how did the world become as hostile on itself as it is? In this series of posts, I will be explaining how Summer and Winter came to be. Please enjoy!
It all started with two men. Two men who called themselves a leader, an inciter of inspiration. They were. But one was those things in all the wrong ways. Unfortunately, this man was in a position of great power, the people under his rule loved him, they believed that he was the sole solution to all of the world's problems. The other had the potential for power even greater then the first. You could call the one with the potential a lone dissenter. Very few people shared his view, and those who did were too weak to help him.

The problems of the world were many. There was a massive shortage of food world-wide, and only the extremely wealthy could afford to have three meals a day. The weather was become increasingly unmerciful as well. Survival was becoming very difficult, and if that wasn't enough, the earth's polarity was in the process of switching. So the earth's magnetic sphere was constantly shifting, creating holes in our barrier against the sun's intense solar flares. The denizens of the earth were in a state of continual panic, and to them, their leader was to be their savior. And their 'savior' had a plan.

The plan was perfect, but the leader could not get it passed by Council. They pronounced it too risky for their budget, if it failed, then there would not be enough money left to even support a government. So the leader was turned away, he was determined to get his plan through. He tried to do it himself in secret, but secrecy did not exist for a man with so much power. His plans were discovered and he was stripped of all power, and then exiled from the main city.

Meanwhile, the dissenter was brewing in anger. Before he had earnestly tried to get the public's attention, but to no avail. He had not smiled for months. Then he heard of the leader's downfall. That day, he smiled.

The dissenter approached the former leader. The leader told him of his plan that would have worked so well, if not for the foolishness of the council. The dissenter smiled again.
