Sayuri shook out the checked picnic blanket, laying it on the grass. Yamya was currently stalking a bird, well trying to anyway. The cheeky little songster was teasing the feline Eden toddler, flitting away and landing again in another place. Sayuri had brought Yamya out to a lake near the Gambino Isle, the weather being unseasonably warm that day, and the snow long gone here. She stood the basket on the blanket, and watched Yamya, her eyes flicking from the girl to other people around them that had the same idea; families, and couples, and the occasional person walking their dog.
The sound of the water, and the ducks swimming on the surface of said lake could be heard from their vantage point on a small hill.

"Must get fit..." Ilusen panted as she broke from her run into a slight jog, then to a stroll and finally stopping to catch her breath. Her new years resoultion hadnt been going quite as well as she had originally planned. Dylan was way ahead of her, and still going, honestly where on earth did he get all that energy from?! Ilusen thought. She thought about shouting for him to stop but he was off up the hill and out her sight before she had time to. So she carried on after him cursing herself for taking him with her.
Of course Dylan was having a whale of a time, outrunning his mom and being as much trouble as he possibly could. He stopped suddenly when he reached the top of the hill a black haired girl caught his surprise he watched he trying to catch a small bird and laughed when it flew away everytime she moved towards it. Thinking he could do much better he ran over and leaped towards the bird. Unfortunately Dylan didnt know the meaning of the word sneaky and made as much noise as possible, sending the bird flying off down the hill. "Oopth.." he looked at the girl and didnt really know what to say.

Sayuri looked up from unwrapping a plate of biscuits, startled by the sudden appearance of the boy. She watched, wondering what Yamya would do, putting the plate down in case she needed to intervene in some way.
Yamya scowled at this intruder; he'd made the bird go away. She felt her tail fluffing and stalked on all fours towards the boy.
'Bird!' she grumbled, her ears twitching.

Dylan didnt take the reaction too good and scowled back "No my thault!" he stomped his foot and was just about to throw a tantrum when Ilusen appeared from behind him, face red and panting for her life "There.... you are! dont you..... dare..... run awa...." She stopped, aware of the atmosphere between Dylan and the cat girl he was standing next to "Dylan, i hope... your being nice... to this lovely little girl" she said giving him a stern look and trying to catch her breath at the same time.

Yamya blinked at Dylan's teeth...they were pretty funny looking;
'Was..' she grumped, her tail fluffing up as an out of breath woman crested the hill. Sayuri stood, walking up to Yamya, and smiled at Ilusen.
'Your..Dylan is it? He just scared away the bird Yamya was trying to catch. She knows she isnt supposed to,' Yamya pouted at the words, poking her tongue out at Dylan.
'But she still tries anyway.' she smiled at Ilusen.
'I'm Sayuri.'

Ilusen smiled back, used to appologizing for her son she took it in her stride "I should of guessed, he's always causing trouble.." she panted slightly, her breath returning to her "Oh.. Im Ilusen" she replied "We're very sorry to disturb your picnic, arent we Dylan?" she looked down at the shark boy, who was sticking his tounge out at Yamya in return to her gesture, and shook her head "He's a bit of a.... handful"
Dylan grinned at his mom with the few pointy gnashers he had, then did the same to Yamya as he noticed she was staring at them.

'Nice to meet you,' Sayuri seated herself on the large blanket once more.
'That's quite all right,' she looked at Yamya who was holding her tail now, looking at the shark boy.
'Wat?' Yamya toddled closer, pointing at Dylan's teeth.
'Don't point,' Sayuri chided. She smiled at Ilusen.
'You're welcome to join us if you like? We were going to eat and then go down and feed the ducks.'

No look at my teef!" he closed his mouth as best he could, aware that his lisp sounded very silly. "Dylan, dont be rude to the little girl!" Ilusen patted her little boy on the head and turned back towards Sayuri "Oh, thank you very much! im sure Dylan wont mind the chance to make a new friend, although it looks like they got off to a bad start huh?" she laughed and sat down beside Sayuri, "I dont think Dylans seen ducks before, they are never here when we come, i guess it was the cold weather making them hide somewhere"

'I think they have a shelter somewhere,' Sayuri said as she pulled out two more paper plates. She carried on unwrapping food plates; sandwiches, sausage rolls, cheeses on sticks, crisps and cakes were all unwrapped and put in the middle. She fished out juice boxes; she had brought more then just two as Yamya had a habit of playing 'water the grass' with her drinks rather then just consuming them.
Yamya giggled at the lisp, cradling her tail tip next to her face.
'Teef..' she opened her own mouth, showing off the needle like canines which were her only teeth to have pushed through so far.

"not thunny..." Dylan grumped, crossing his arms and sitting down on the grass looking rejected. He watched the girl as she opened her mouth flashing her own teeth at him, she didnt have many either, maybe she was the same? "mommy shays my teef come shoon" cheering up a little he flashed his single row of pointy teeth also. He watched her tail in fascination, he hadnt seen anything like it before so was curious as to what it was.
Ilusen kept one eye on Dylan as she chatted with Sayuri, she never knew what he was going to do next. "Would you like some help with the unpacking?" she offered not wanting to let her do all the work

Yamya went onto all fours, crawling right up to Dylan. Her tail tip was swishing behind her now as she'd let go of her tail when she knelt down, and she sniffed at him, ears twitching. Sayuri glanced over, rolling her eyes. The girl was very feline at this stage, and she often did things like...Sayuri giggled as Yamya batted at Dylans shoulder with a hand.
'Wat..you?' she managed, still at odds with alot of words.
Sayuri shook her head;
'It's all out now,' she gestured to the spread in front of them as she looked at Ilusen again.
'Do help yourself.'

Dylan wasnt used to such close contact so jumped backwards slightly as she batted at his shoulder. Eyes still on her tail he followed it as it swished back and forth, only taking them off it when she spoke. He blinked trying to take in the question, it was slightly harder with her limited wording so it took him a few minutes to compute before he replied "Shark, grrrr" he flashed his teeth again to back up this statement then giggled.
Ilusen smiled at her little boy, who was being unusually well behaved "He must like your little girl, ive never seen him be so well behaved in ages." She said to sayuri as she leant forward and picked up a cheese stick "Thank you for inviting us, its very kind of you i hope we arent being too intruding."

'I'm surprised at Yamya's behaviour myself..she can be quite, well, spiteful I guess you could say.' Sayuri nodded, chewing on a chocolate biscuit as she put two juice boxes aside for the toddlers.
'Oh no. To be honest its nice to talk to someone, I live quite far from here, its isolated really, and you can only put up with babyish talk for so long.' she chuckled.
Yamya's tail fluffed a little at the teeth baring, then calmed again as the boy made no attempt at lunging or any other aggressive behaviour towards her.
'..sark? Sh-ark.' Yamya articulated slowly, rolling the word in her mouth.
'Wat is sark?'

"Well, i guess they're a match made in heaven" Ilusen laughed "Dylan is exactly the same." She glanced over to her little boy, just to check he hadnt done any major damage to his immediate surroundings just yet, all was good so far. "Its nice talking to you too, i live with my good friend Chalda, she's Dylans sister seleece's mom, but shes been rather busy lately so we havent had much a chance to talk"
"s-h-a-r-k." Dylan repeated slowly and idignantly "Um... shark ith... shark" he scuffed his feet on the grass he hadnt ever thought about it before, and come to think of it he didnt actually know what a shark was, apart from that it lived in the sea. He shrugged then toddled over to Ilusen patting her on the shoulder "Mom, wat ith shark?" he asked patting her slightly harder to get her attention "Dylan you know not to interupt, its rude" Ilusen scolded "What do you mean whats a shark? Its an animal who lives in the sea, with big teeth, and it eats fish." She rolled her eyes as the little boy ran back over to Yamya to tell her the news.

'It's good to get out once in a while,' Sayuri remarked.
'Oh he has a sister? Do they get on then?' she smiled indulgently as Dylan came over and asked his question, chuckling as he went back over to Yamya.
Yamya blinked as Dylan went off to the woman he had arrived with. She flopped onto the grass, landing on her bottom and almost squashing her tail. She tugged up the grass, looking up when he came back;
'Yoo mummy no wat sark?'
