Sinon had always known that senshi leveled up after a certain point, but she had never imagined that she would. It was an odd feeling, realizing that she had been battling monsters and negaverse agents for a year. Nostalgia overtook the redhead as she fondly recalled her early times as a bumbling soldier of lies. It had taken her a while to efficiently utilize her attack and even longer to grow accustomed to running around in boots—back then, Sinon had been too used to sprinting in sneakers. On the fortunate side, she was also one of the few to wear pants—rather surprising, since she kept wondering how her fellow senshi managed to flit around town in skirts and heels.

She ambled the streets, her gaze meeting the sky as she rolled back her shoulders. After months of trudging through weather with a sleeveless top, Sinon suddenly found it odd that she had gained short sleeves—they were puffy and stiff, nothing like the loose sleeves of her tees. Not only that, but her bow had experienced a growth spurt. Its tails fluttered and dimly sparkled in the wind as she walked. Sinon was fine with this—really, it was just that some p***k could easily tug at the ends. Goddammit. The thought brought a frown to her lips and she turned her gaze downward at her boots, at least the metallic tips of her shoes were cool. That was a plus.

Footsteps thundered behind her before a large, feline creature pushed past her. “Hey!” she grumbled and quickly chased after it. It didn’t take much brains to realize what it was.

“Damn youma.” Sinon ran, her leaps long and quick. She swung an arm across her body. “Web of Lies!” No, it definitely wasn’t fun and exciting to call out a new attack name. Not. At. All. The basis of her attack had not changed. A flurry of tangling strands sprung out from her hand and covered the creature, but it was no longer languid and slow. The strings were quicker, stronger, more durable. Sinon couldn’t stop grinning—until she spotted a dark figure nearby.

She blinked. Ally? Enemy? Who the hell was it? “Web of Lies!” Sinon swung her arm again, unleashing another storm of thread at the stranger.

Niflhel had almost been caught off guard. If it wasn't for the fact the senshi had to say their attack he would've been. When he moved he felt the attack go past him, oh s**t. He started running and jumped towards one building and moved himself up the walls of the alleyway. Eventually landing on a fire escape, hopefully high enough up.

His scarf billowed in the breeze and his chain made a metal clinking noise as he looked down. "HEY Senshi we're on the same side." He yelled down at the clearly female voice and figure. If she was going to keep that up he'd have to figure out an advantage point. Unless she was a corrupt senshi but she didn't feel like it.

There was a pause as he watched her, that flaming red hair, did he know her? He hadn't gotten a chance to actually look at her. Damn why did she have to attack first?

That was a downside to being a senshi that would never seem to disappear—calling out attack names. Sinon had grown accustomed to shouting her attack, but it kind of—really—sucked when the opponent managed to dodge because she had to call the name. It frustrated her to know that announcing her next move was an incredibly stupid idea, but at the same time it was necessary if she wanted to use her magic at all. The fact that the stranger had been so close to being ensnared in web made it even more aggravating. Apparently the redhead would have to improve on her aim, timing—something so that she wouldn’t miss again.

The stranger called out to her in a deep voice—male—but the soldier of lies couldn’t quite catch what he had said. “What? I couldn’t quite catch that!” Sinon shouted back, turning her head so her ear was twisted towards him as she swung her arm again. “Web of Lies!” Yes, talking with her opponent as she fought was clearly an efficient way to use her breath and energy.

He sighed at the girl as she tried again. He jumped from the fire escape he'd perched on, down to the ground. Pulling out his chain in the process and then threw it towards her hoping to catch her and wrap her arms to her body so she couldn't do that anymore. He was focused on keeping her that way for a bit, when suddenly his chain started to give off a faint glow, holding tight as Niflhel concentrated.

"Why is it, that senshi attack first and ask questions later?" He asked standing beside her keeping as much focus on his chain as possible. He recognized her, from the Halloween Ball last year. Only she seemed a stronger, a smile crept across his features. "Sinon, right?"

He'd met so many senshi as a civilian, lucky him he'd been able to practice focusing on two things at once. He was watching her with curiosity, hoping his full focus didn't have to be on holding the chain in place. "You realized you attacked one of those willing to help you in battle against the Negaverse? Stop and pay attention to the energy, you'll notice I'm not bathed in the dark feel that the Negaverse is." He glanced around hoping that the feline youma thing didn't come back while they were fixing the problem.

As soon as Sinon unleashed her attack a second time, she lurched forward as she felt her magical energy seep away. Evidently, she would need to learn how to ration her power until she grew used to her more powerful attack. A more powerful spell always meant using up more energy. Another thing Sinon would have to adapt to.

She gritted her teeth as she found herself ensnared by the knight’s chain. Sinon scowled and struggled to break free. A little more than miffed, she looked up at Niflhel. “Oh you know us, always passionate and charging in head first. Better to attack than be attacked, in my eyes.” As soon as he uttered her name, she furrowed her eyebrows and eyed the lad. Her mind filled with images of acquaintances, senshi and negaverse alike. She didn’t bother to sift through civilian identities. Glamor was a pain and a blessing. “I don’t recall meeting you before,” she stated matter of factly.

Then the senshi threw Niflhel a look that roughly read: “Dude, what the hell are you talking about?” Reluctantly, she then took the time to observe his energy signature and grudgingly accepted the fact that he wasn’t from the Negaverse. “Alright, you’re not from the Negaverse, then what are you? You’re definitely not a senshi.” She followed his glances, eventually realizing that the damned feline youma was still prowling around. Sinon uncomfortably squirmed in the chain’s hold. Please, please do not come back while she was tied up—literally.

Niflhel kept her there looking unimpressed as she struggled. "Yeah you really should rethink that." He stated crossing his arms, while still holding the chain. "You'll get yourself killed if you continue that." He lectured, "You wait and see who they are and if they are going to attack you. Even some of the Negaverse wont' attack first."

He rolled his shoulders in a shrug, "Well I wasn't powered back then so of course you wouldn't." Sometimes he really wondered how some of these kids became senshi and lived.

He grinned, "A Knight. Squire to be precise. There are more than just me running around as well. While I personally don't take sides, I wouldn't let the negaverse kill either. Though if they're not hurting anything, I don't see a point in attacking them at that moment."

He was watching for the feline youma as well, keeping tabs of any movement around them. "You gunna behave so I can let you go? Or do I need to keep you chained up? 'cause I'd really rather save this for that stupid monster." Granted this was the first time it'd actually glowed like that, despite it being faint and now waning a little the more she seemed to realize he was on their side. He wasn't completely ready to let her go until she agreed not to try to hit him anymore. "Also you really should stop using your attack so much, it'll get you killed. I wouldn't want to have to save you like I have Polaris." His honey brown eyes glanced at Sinon unwavering.

Sinon stared at Niflhel as he spouted advice that actually sounded pretty decent. She frowned, her expression on the verge of transforming into a childish pout. Killed. Death was such a serious topic, especially when it came to being a senshi. Sinon did not bode well when it came to serious topics like this. Fighting battles and patrolling the town she could take seriously, but when it came to discussions, well… “Yeah, yeah.” She grumbled, eyes half-lidded as she kept her gaze at the concrete.

“Powered, yes. Of course.” Lovely how he already knew her, but she didn’t—well, Sinon supposed she did, but not really. “Knight? When the hell did we get knights?” This was news to her. Apparently, the senshi of lies had not been paying close attention to the senshi grapevine.

She began to wriggle in the chains again. “Yes, yes, I understand! Just untie before the little kitty cat comes back and eats us both.” Sinon glared at Niflhel. “I’m not the smartest girl around, but I’m not stupid. This attack takes up more energy than my last one. I was surprised, that was all.” That’s what she liked to think, anyways.

Niflhel noticed he seemed to have gotten through to her, at least a little. "Think a little more okay? I know you have a brain in that head of yours or you wouldn't've gotten this far." He gave a smile and tilted his head a bit.

He paused, "Well... I guess a few months ago. I'd suppose we weren't needed until now." There was a faint shrug as he stood there finally letting her go and wrapping up his chain placing it on his belt. "I know you're not kiddo." He chuckled, "You just have to learn to use good things in moderation. Punching goes just as far as an attack if you know how to do it."

He paused, "Really try to remember your attacks as something to aid you, not to rely on. They might not always work in a situation." He was watching for the kitty, "I know the kitty's around, I just couldn't risk you wasting your time on me when there's a youma."

His smile irked her a bit, but Sinon just pouted. “Okay~~” she drawled, eyes turned away as she jutted out her bottom lip. As soon as the chains began to loosen she happily began to wriggle and did a small, pleased jump once the chain was wrapped up and neatly coiled at his belt. She perked an eyebrow at the knight. “Kiddo?” she repeated. Yes, Sinon was still seventeen. So yes, she assumed that probably he was older than her, but the age difference wasn’t that noticeable, especially when she strolled around at a daunting six feet. She supposed people had an odd habit of calling others nicknames that didn’t quite fit them or such. She would deal.

Her cheeks puffed out and she idly tugged on her gloves. She peered through the darkness, her fingers tracing the thin webs wrapped around her wrists. “Yeah, yeah, but now we’ve come to an understanding!” Sinon paused. “Your chains bind. My web likes to do that too, but it also crushes. Once we hit the youma enough, I think we can finish it like that.”

Niflhel nodded, and watched as Sinon perked an eyebrow at him, he was a little taller than she was, but probably not by much. "You act like a kid in a candy store." He said with a shrug, "Granted, that's actually a good thing if you ask me. Keeps you young and full of spirit."

He nodded as she talked about his attack, "Yes, they're often helpful for trying to hold things in place, it doesn't always work well.... but." He chuckled, "Well, you see how technically useful it is."

There was a hum as he headed towards the feline, "I think it's going to try to play us like mice unless we go towards it."

Sinon was unfazed by his comparison. “I get that a lot. I’m used to it.” She shrugged.

She threw him a miffed look. “I’m quite tempted to cover you in my web, but I won’t because that would be a waste of energy.” The redhead started to follow after Niflhel. “That’s great. I’ll jump and you can do whatever you think is best. I’m good with being stupid and bold.” It was unclear whether Sinon intended this to be a compliment or an insult to herself, or even both. Grinning with eager excitement, she dashed toward the feline youma.

At first the youma was confused, but once Sinon managed to hop onto its back all hell broke loose.

Niflhel laughed as the senshi said she was use to that. "Well that's not surprising."

There was another roll of his shoulders as he seemed not to be intimidated by the senshi. "I've seen worse things to be covered in." There was a chuckle as she told him what she was going to do.

"Actually, I think that's the best way to go about dealing with these, planning actions don't really work well." He took his chain however and threw it towards the bucking youma as Sinon seemed to attempt to ride it rodeo style, he was trying not to laugh. "All you need is a cowboy hat." He added, there was a grin as his chain latched around one of the creature's limbs and he tried to dash around it to tie it up. "Watch out~." He called.

“What’s that?” she hollered, tightly clutching fistfuls of fur as the creature began to angrily howl. “Cowboy? Oh, yeah! Like at a rodeo, huh?” Sinon’s face lit up with the analogy. It had taken her a few months, but the redhead had managed to realize that yes—her fuku did vaguely resemble that of a cowboy’s. It was just the pants and boots really, but still. Cowboys. Cowboys were awesome.

Her smile stretched even wider as she playfully yelled out a rather believable “YEE-HAW!” as Niflhel wrapped his chain around one of the cat’s legs and hurriedly circled around the youma. “Roger that!” Fortunately, the oversized feline had been too distracted by Sinon to realize its legs were being roped up. She laughed as she precariously stood on top of the youma’s back and then leapt down as Niflhel continued to rope it. “Need some help with that?”

Niflhel couldn't help but laugh. He normally wasn't the type but Sinon was quite the character. "Yeah like at a rodeo." He nodded, shaking his head when she yelled out Yee-Haw!

"Hm..." Niflhel looked as he yanked the chain as soon as Sinon jumped down and focused enough energy on keeping the chain wrapped. "Actually..." He paused trying to think about two things at once. This was a bit more difficult than one would've imagined. "Yeah, well with what we need to do next." He looked around and then pointed up with a grin. "Think you can help me carry him?"

He'd fashioned the left over chain into a handle of sorts so they could drag the cat thing around. "We can play drop the youma if we get high enough." He grinned at Sinon to see what she thought of this. "And if you want to make sure he doesn't get loose that attack of yours would totally be helpful."

The knight began to speak and Sinon politely shut up, sealing her lips tight. However, it didn’t take long for the senshi to start fidgeting and wiggling as she stood, waiting. She casually wiggled back and forth, as if it wasn’t a peculiar thing to do while standing and doing nothing in particular. “Oh, yeah! Yeah! I can do that.” She responded fervently and strode over to Niflhel and the roped youma. Sinon leaned way over to the side to inspect the handle. Oooh. How clever.

At his last comments, Sinon creepily smiled and slowly turned her head toward him. “I do enjoys, as weird as they can be.” Thankfully, her expression returned to normal as she nodded. “I can do that too. Web of Lies!” She spread out one arm and moved it across to the other side, a frenzied stream of wire-thin thread dancing out and wrapping themselves around the feline.
