One by one, the senshi exited the small room they'd gathered into, meeting back with their escort, since it was impossible to teleport directly out of the rift.
Alunite was more annoyed than ever by that fact - not only did it mean passing through the halls again, accompanied by the feeling of a thousand eyes glaring him down, but it also meant that it would be quite some time longer before he could go back to his energy gathering.
One by one, the corrupted senshi left, until only he and Alkaid were left. He gave her a small nod, then turned to leave as well, his skirt trailing behind him in a wide circle.
This was her chance.

Alkaid had let them all file out, watching as the door swung open and Negaverser after Negaverser paired off with one or more of the senshi to escort them back out. It was an annoying necessity, but a necessity all the same.
She saw Hematite lingering just beyond but she had business with the senshi of the Eclipse, he could wait just a bit longer.
"Alunite," she called out, just before he reached the door. She had stood, but not moved away from the seat she'd been sitting in. She was still just beyond the table, on the opposite side of the room, but her eyes were locked onto the back of his head.
"I think we need to have a talk." It could have been accusatory, but it wasn't. There was concern in her voice.

Alunite stopped with the sound of his name being called, just as he'd been about to pass the door. Fluorite was still waiting out there, and he'd caught a glimpse of her on the other side before Alkaid had spoken.
He turned back to face her, then stepped back toward the table, going deeper in the room than he even had during the actual meeting. His mind was running, slow gears tinking in, trying to figure out what he might have said during the meeting itself that he shouldn't have, but he came up with nothing.
Yes, he had no damn idea what this what about. "What's up ?"

With him up close then, she took a moment to look him over from head to toe. She could see all the signs of his lack of sleep and the way he was stressing himself out over this. She wanted to push the Senshi to work harder, to be something, but he was already pushing himself far too hard.
"Your sister is concerned about you, you know. She doesn't even have to say it out loud for me to see it in her eyes." She stood behind the table, tapping the knuckles of one hand very lightly against the top. She seemed unsure about how to approach this, maybe because she had never had to ask someone to stop before.
"You can't keep going like this, Alunite. I know you want to be something to the Negaverse, but we are not built for this like the soldiers are." Now there was that passion, that concern, that tone in her voice that made her who she was. Her golden eyes stayed on his face as she spoke, driving her point home with every word. "They can do this because they can consume star seeds, live on that life, but we can't. You will kill yourself if you keep trying to do this."

...This wasn't what Alunite had expected, and for a moment he was stuck speechless.
"I know she worries." He sighed. He had a point to this, really. It was just a matter of balancing everything, a matter of getting used to the pace, a matter of...
Try as he might, the words refused to come out, his thoughts a little scrambled by the lack of sleep - he shook his head as if to shake himself awake.
Her gaze was intense, really - had it always been this intense ? After a while, he found himself unable to meet it anymore.
What would Painite say if she saw him like this, really ? What... would Ashley and Gently do if something happened to him ?

When his eyes dropped away from her, a small frown formed on her face. For a moment she was worried she had been too forward with him, too bold. She felt like she was reprimanding him for hard work and that just wasn't her place. If she didn't though, who would?
"I know you just want to prove yourself Alunite, but there are other ways to do it. If you continue down this path, you will die from exhaustion, and they will let you do it." She rounded the table slowly, the click of her heels rebounding in the small, empty room.
"Look at me," it was a very soft, barely audible request. She leaned down just a little as she said it, as if she might force him to look at her by lowering herself beneath his height. She straightened back up for the most part and just cross her arms behind her back. "They will ask you to give all of yourself to this and let you decide what that means, it's up to you to find that balance. Do you understand that?"

When her request came, as soft as it was, he looked back up, as if an automatism. His brown eyes were lacking something that was usually there - from this chose, it was easy to see. They seemed... darker, somehow.
"...I thought I had a balance." Yeah. It was becoming obvious that he didn't have a balance. Maybe it was a mix of being still long enough for the bone-deep tiredness to catch up and Alkaid's words that finally drilled it home.
"I understand." At least he thought he did. His mind was more than a little jumbled now that there weren't multiple things gnawing at his attention to keep him awake, not enough people around to be able to put up and keep his pretense.
It would have been useless, at any rate - much like his sister, Alkaid was perceptive enough to notice pretty much anything.

She took a few steps forward towards him as he finally looked up at her, drawn in by the lack of luster in his eyes. She brought a hand up, very slowly, and set it against his cheek to keep his eyes on her. Her bright irises locked onto his darker ones and a very small, sympathetic smile spread on her lips.
"You are an admirable soldier, Alunite, with more ambition and drive than I have seen in almost anyone else in this army," she patted his cheek softly and then let her hand fall to her side. The expression on her then was serious, though her eyes spoke with her concern. "You're nothing to them if you kill yourself though, just remember that."
She took a few steps back then and held her hand out towards the door, letting him leave if he wanted an escape from the admittedly awkward conversation. She wouldn't hold him in discomfort against his will. "Go home and sleep, will you? If not for yourself, then for Fluorite so she doesn't worry herself to death."

The compliment did not fall on dead ears - he smiled, if only slightly. It... felt good to hear it. Even better to hear it from Alkaid, really. She might not have wanted to set herself up as a 'leader', but for him, well, she might as well have been just that.
She was the one who had seen the most, went through the most... A guiding light, really.
"Yeah." He nodded. "I should..." He turned then, heading toward the door, where Fluorite was still waiting. It looked like he would listen, at least.

She smiled slightly as he nodded and agreed with her. She leaned back into the table as he turned and headed for the door, silently considering whether or not he would actually take her advice.
She hoped so, or she suspected Fluorite was going to get very forceful with him.
She nodded very slightly at the purple haired girl as the door swung open and he disappeared. She had done what she could to sway him onto a safer path, it was up to him how much he followed her advice.
As the pair of purple haired siblings disappeared down the hallway, her own General stuck his head in the doorway with an impatient expression. Alkaid in the Rift made him uneasy and she knew he probably didn't want to linger anymore than the other pair had. So, with a small smirk she simply followed Alunite out, then found her place at Hematite's side so that they too could leave.
